Great atmosphere, I went with friends for a night out there was a band playing. We really had a great night out.

Friendly & hospitable pub and a cracking service. Staff are always welcoming. It is a great place to be, for a drink. Relaxed atmosphere in a welcoming environment.

Fantastic Sunday Roast, staff are amazing and made my family and children. Very welcome. Totally recommend to family’s especially for an event, i.e. Mother’s Day, or Xmas

Visited on busy lunch ,very clean and organised pub .we didnt have a booking but they did find a large table for us .service was very good and helpfull .food arrived after 20 minutes very tasty and very well presented ,definitly pub to recomend .thank you

Would recommend the Stag to absolutely anyone. It’s one of our favourite places to go on the weekend as the staff are always so lovely and friendly and provide amazing service! The live music and DJs always create a great atmosphere for everyone!!

Stopped by after the races for some food and drinks with my family and was absolutely blown away with the service and the quality of the fish and chips. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some spot on grub after a day at the races! Amazing management too by the looks of it as they were rammed and managed to keep everyone happy!

Just had the best night at the stag, absolutely packed and pumping after the races. Didn't wait long to be served, even though the bar was packed, staff super efficient and still smiling. Will definitely visit again.

Wow what an atmosphere, great place for after the races. Extremely busy, but did not have to wait long for drinks & hotdogs (yum). DJ was pumping out the tunes and we all had the best time.

I have traveled around and have visited a lot of pubs in my life and The stag has been one of the best pubs i have been in. From the warm atmosphere to such caring and friendly staff, the food was also amazing, loved the new menu! I definitely recommend this place to anyone that loves the pub culture. We visited the Stag this weekend for our first meet up with friends after lockdown. We had a amazing time and totally felt at ease with the new restrictions in place to keep everyone safe. It was a GREAT atmosphere and the drinks were flowing, The staff are friendly and there was a great atmosphere. I can only imagine how great the atmosphere will be once Covid is a thing of the past. I will be back!!

I went into the stag a couple of nights ago, it was a superb experience as usual! I was greeted by the friendly staff at the door and shown to the table. I was delighted at the speed/quality of service despite the fact that it was a busy night, and to put the cherry on top, the nice lady even asked about my dog, Nelio (I usually bring him in with me). Despite how much of noisy nuisance Nelio is when he comes in (Typical Husky). The staff are always attentive at this pub and I have sorely missed frequenting it, thank god they are back open!

Popped into The Stag rather impromptu and got a table inside as the weather is so changeable. We were offered seating outside and there is a real surprise of a hidden garden at the back. Beautiful. On a sunny day we would have chosen to sit there. Good Covid policy so we used the app and were seated and offered drinks. We were told we could order from the table or the app. I like the app as you pay as you go. Had the pie and lasagne. Both enjoyed it. It’s a real straight forward pub. Staff were friendly and we were offered more drinks when they saw we were getting low. We will be back to enjoy the sun when it finally comes out.

First outing since lockdown and it didn’t disappoint! The food tasted great and we felt constantly looked after by the staff, in addition to this we felt very safe with the COVID-19 restrictions in place. Will definitely be returning to The Stag!

This was the first pub I visited since lockdown was lifted, staff is friendly and a great atmosphere. Didn’t have food but from what I saw going around the pub, it looked unbelievable!

Let’s start with the greeting; staff member obviously fed up of repeating herself. Monotone and robotic greeting.Sat us down no offer of drinks being taken just disappeared.Confused as to what to do menu says order on app, app says use app, chalk boards on wall say order at bar but after 10 minutes a very nice young waitress came to take drinks order.Bought them over weren’t ready to order food so disappeared 15/20 mins later we asked someone to order. Ordered food but order wasn’t written down, partner asked for no Mayo in burger. Food came out there was Mayo in the burger!! If this had been due to an allergy rather than just dislike it could have had bad consequences!! Had the waiter written it down wouldn’t have got missed. After 15 mins eventually grabbed a staff member to send it back and took another 20 mins to bring a new burger out. But it wasn’t great 5/10 for taste and quality.We heard another table complaining about their burgers to each other too.The steak was dry even though cooked MR, and poor quality very fatty and chewy, the peppercorn sauce was thick and lumpy. We left both still hungry. As for the restaurant/pub itself I know it’s been a hard year but this would’ve been perfect chance to redecorate or at least fix the Waller paper that’s peeling off the walls or been pulled off, and sort the decor between the booths, pretty sure I noticed a broken window too. Overall it’s just overpriced for the poor quality and the decor portrays dilapidated pub in a rough area not that you’re sat in the middle of ascot. Very disappointing and still very hungry.

I had booked my table two weeks in advanced, expecting to be sat outside the back of the restaurant with a nice atmosphere. instead, my friends and I were put on the roadside of the restaurant as the only people there, feeling isolated from the rest of the restaurant with an unenjoyable atmosphere. we asked if we could sit round the back instead but we were told that as we were only a group of three, the larger groups got priority. we each ordered a drink and a couple of sides. I ordered the chocolate fudge cake and it was completely stale, to the point that it took great effort to even put my fork into it. when a waitress came and asked how the food was, I reported to her that the cake was stale, illustrating to her that I could barely get my fork into it. she replied saying 'it cannot be stale, we only got it two days ago' and then she walked away. I was extremely disappointed with this, especially since it was my first outing since the lockdown. I would not have paid for the cake, as I left the entire thing, but the restaurant is a pre-pay service. I was not even offered to send it back nor to get a refund. I shall not be returning to the Stag.

The staff were very welcoming and made us feel comfortable that all social distancing was under control. The food was sooo delicious! Even my fussy 4 year old cleared his plate. It was really clean everywhere. We had such a lovely relaxing time.

We were shown to our table and given clear instructions accounting for the pandemic. The food was lovely and the service was brilliant, and with Nelio's obsession with the place i can definitely see us coming back very soon!

Great looking pub and it's actually the only pub/restaurant in Ascot to put safe measures in place well done to the staff. Food is also lovely I'll be back soon with my family as I heard they have a beautifully made Sunday roast.

During the day a visit is rather lovely. The staff are charming and the food is above average. To be fair I might be doing a mid service when I say that. It’s just anyone who knows me will know I’m a chicken wing snob and fiend and they just don’t QUITE get it right. And it’s frustrating lol (like 95% there; it’s sauce ratio dammit ) Jokes aside by day ships run well and totally adhere to COVID guidelines. By night is a different story and from the entrance and it’s useless door staff to some stinking environment (customers n behaviour), it’s a contrast and disappoint. But it’s still sadly the best place to go in ascot. So it’s more a reflection on people’s behaviour I guess but they also allow the attitudes. And security on their phone not watching crowds is disgusting. And getting paid still. Lastly the drinks selection is fabulous; just need more rum options though I’m biase.

This a nice pub winter or summer. They have a beer garden at the back which you can watch sporting events and have a bite to eat. Food is reasonable and not expensive

Would like to have eaten in the Stag today,as on a previous visit had a nice meal. However after waiting for ages without receiving any explanation or apology,we gave up and asked for our money back as we had to go, this was met with a shrug of the shoulders. We were then told it would be ready soon and they could put it in a takeaway box, how we were supposed to eat whilst driving is beyond me and we didn't even have cutlery. Eventually we were reimbursed but still no apology just another attempt to get us to wait and have it in a takeaway box. Wont be going back in any time soon.

Never been spoken to in such a rude manager in all my life by the 'manager'. Shame on you. I expected better from a visit to Ascot.

We came here on a Friday night...this is a very busy bar with great cocktails...I’m blown away by the DJ he is super amazing ...this bar gets very busy in the evenings very lively crowd and everyone dressed to impress ...great bar for a night in Ascot ❤️❤️...I’m hooked we will be back soon

Have eaten here before and food was ok however me & my daughter ordered the roast beef after waiting for ages where we had to go ask how much longer are food finally came my food was cold the so called veg had been boiled to death and my daughters was cold and fatty . My husbands was ok he ordered fish and chips. When we complained we got no apologies and had to wait longer for it to be sorted again the staff had no idea or didn’t even care about customer service! Won’t be returning what an disappointment

Well what can I say! Walked in for a beer with a mate and had a couple of Amstel’s. All good but what a boring place to be! No music playing and the worst bit was the staff behind the bar where so bad at their jobs. Had no clue what they where doing! The woman manager in the green shirt looks so angry and upset as if she had lost her dog! Walking around with out a care. She’s an embarrassment to the hospitality industry! I had heard good things about this pub but I experienced nothing but rubbish service and seriously bad staff!

Toddled down on a bleak Friday to perk ourselves up with naughty couple of pints as the typical British weather let us down on what should have been bright sunny afternoon. The pub itself isn’t too shabby with plenty of tables and I quote from the best film every made “ so much room for activities “!The booze range is banging with plenty of decent beers and proper spirits to get yourself sloshed on a pay day Friday night, which is just as well cause your not gonna want to remember the rest of the gaff! The staff seems nice enough however they haven’t got a Scooby Doo whats going on though and what anything they sell is! You’d get more info out of short wooden plank!!! It’s not gonna put me off coming down for a cheeky few but small things like music being played would be nice, feels like I walked into someone being told their dog died, no atmosphere and just feels a little awkward! On the upside they do HP sauce, and I love a bit of that on my burgers!!!I hope this place gets a grip on its potential, a bit like Wilfred Zaha, wasn’t much to start with but now is becoming something a little special!!!

Surprisingly good meal here on a Sunday lunch. All eight of us commented on how much better the roasts were than last year, how much nicer the general vibe and customer service was and it all made for a smashing couple of hours. Yes we would have liked mute pork crackling, but the rump steak and sea bass couldn't have been better. All piping hot and served on hot plates with tasty veg and lovely gravy..... although dishes didn't arrive at the same time. Didn't matter to us though and we'll happily visit again!

Opted for Ascot for our family meet in the middle Sunday lunch. As a mix of adults and kids a pub is always a safe bet and found our reserved table was ready on time.

Our party of 8 chose differing options from the 4 course Xmas day menu, both the quality and quantity of the food exceeded our expectations. The service was great, the courses were well paced and the food was delicious, making the whole experience a great one. The limit on the number of diners that day made for a great atmosphere, not too busy so it didn't feel like mass catering as the sittings were staggered to your choice. It was my first time eating out on Christmas day and was a little nervous about booking pub food for a party of 8. However we all had such a great experience that we agreed we would do it again next year. It was also very reasonably priced. Well done to all at the Stag. You did not disappoint. Thank you for a great Xmas day meal.

This place used to be very sad , refurbed a couple of years ago, and what a great job, Ascot high street is short of pubs and this is now a great addition, good pub food, good friendly staff, very helpful! Worth a visit if your in Ascot!

This was a lunch visit for myself and two daughters. We had sandwiches and nachos. Both were very tasty and good value for money.

The stag are 100% dog friendly the the landlord is such an nice gentleman also the staff there are wonderful and very nice and tidy always offering clean fresh water and treats. 5 stars 🌟 for being caring towards my dogs x
