Excellent pizzas I had the festive pizza this time a absolutely delicious Brie cranberry and butternut squash what a combo. Great choice of ciders and fab atmosphere.

The service was very good and the pizza was reasonable. Unfortunately we were eating pretty close to two large dogs. They weren’t assistance dogs and to be fair, were very good natured, but if, like me, you prefer animal free dining areas, then it’s worth noting you may have to share your space with them if you eat here. For that reason, I won’t be returning.

Excellent food, friendly staff and great cider! Family birthday celebration at The Stable was our third visit and very enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Terrible customer service and poor management. Ordered nachos with pulled beef and a pizza. The nachos and beef came out burnt with barely any beef, and mostly stuck to the baking paper, and a tiny portion that you couldn’t justify as a main course. No big deal I thought, but trying to send it back and deal with the waiter was a nightmare who didn’t want to to do anything about it. Lots of too’ing and fro’ing with his supervisor, who I could see across the room but who clearly didn’t want to speak to us directly. He took away the remaining nachos (near full portion), and offered a 10% discount on the bill. I couldn’t have even finished them at this point even if I wanted to! After lots of back and fourth, he reluctantly offered to remove them from the bill - nothing more and barely even an apology. No thanks. We’ll be going elsewhere next time.

We arrived at the same time as several other people. There appeared to only be one waitress to welcome people, seat them, take orders and make drinks so it was a while until we were served. From that point however it got a lot better. Food was great, quick service and piping hot. Gluten free base lovely. The waitress came over to apologise for the delay at the start, but she did a wonderful job. We will be back.

We love going to The Stable but sadly our visit fell very short this time around. We booked dinner for 2045 on a Saturday evening. We were stood for ages waiting to be seated even though staff members kept walking past us. We ordered two ciders and asked for a glass of ice on the side. We also ordered tater tots to eat first. The ice was forgotten but was brought over when we reminded them. We were sat waiting a while and started to wonder where our food was. Then our waiter said there was a problem with the ovens and our food was just coming, but could we remind him what we had ordered. He said the tater tots were on the side just coming down and the other food was being cooked as we spoke. He rushed off to the till where we think he put our forgotten about food order through. 5 mins later the tots arrived very hot so clearly had only just come out of the oven not left of the side. 5 mins after our mains came out. The food was great as always but the service was terrible. We think there were quite a few new starters who needed better guidance, the manager spent the whole time behind the bar making drinks when she really should have been on the floor. The staff were more interested in setting up the tables for the next day than making sure the customers were happy. This used to be our go to place for dinner but think we will leave visiting for a while.

After being let down elsewhere we returned to one of our favorites which as usual provided lovely beer and excellent food in a wonderful vibrant atmosphere

Saw the board advertising the flight of ciders, so just HAD to come here and try them! Very impressed with the selection and was fun to score each of them. We stayed for a couple more as it was such a nice atmosphere here..lots of families and others enjoying themselves. Good choice of vegan pizzas and garlic bread. We just had a vegan garlic bread, which was very tasty. Loved the fact that this place offers local beers and ciders and others from independent breweries. Staff really friendly too. Will definitely be back when we are next in Winch.

Absolutely lovely restaurant. We had the Winchester slice pizza with tater tots… soo delicious! Lovely to be able to sit outside in the sunshine with the parasol. Very good service too. Will be back!

As day visitors to Winchester, we stumbled across here when looking for lunch. We were attracted by the open frontage and the decor, plus we like pizza’s! Being from Somerset we were delighted to see Glastonbury mozzarella on the pizza’s (we’d have been even more excited for more of our ciders, hee hee). Our pizzas arrived quickly and were delicious. I had the hen party which was so tasty, I managed the lot. The servers were friendly and welcoming and the place had a relaxing ambience. Thank you for making our afternoon in Winchester even better.

We visited for bottomless brunch and we loved it! Delicious pizza, and nice variety of cocktails. The staff were super quick at bringing drinks over - would definitely return.

Really good selection of locally brewed beers on draught and a fine choice of spirits, too. Love that they champion local produce! We need more venues like this! I don't normally write reviews but this time I have made an acceptation as the experience was terrible. My booking was at 6pm and I arrived just beforehand with my family. I was most surprised to be welcomed by a girl wearing a t-shirt tied and tucked so as to show her bare stomach and when shown to our table it appeared there were other female staff members exactly the same which I do not feel is appropriate for a restaurant where children attend if at all.We then sat for twenty minutes waiting for someone to ask us if we would like a drink or take a food order but despite numerous staff members walking past or just standing around chatting to one another we did not feel that we could endure the environment any longer and decided to leave but not before requesting to see the manager who was in the back office and when he did appear and I explained the situation he merely said "I wouldn't know I was in the back office" and did not even offer an apology or a resolution. So if the manager is not concerned or fails to take charge of is staff then how do you expect the staff to even be concerned or manage themselves. This was my first and last visit to The Winchester Stable and at time when restaurant businesses are struggling clearly The Winchester Stables staff struggle to even do their job properly!

We had pre booked to eat here on Sunday 13 September following great experiences on previous visits.We were disappointed to find that the overall high standard of previous visits had slippedThere were very few people dining yet the music was on full blast to a point of being quite intrusive and the volume made it challenging to converse My husband ordered a veggie pizza which he was disappointed with, nobody came to enquire whether the food was ok so we just paid and leftThe real frustration for us was that none of the staff were wearing masks or visors - the kitchen where food is prepared is up two flights of stairs so staff walk down these stairs breathing onto the food this really isn’t ideal particularly with the rising rate of Covid - or perhaps this restaurant is unaware that we are in a pandemic?

This was one of our favourite meals of our recent holiday. The pizza was delicious and the staff were so friendly and welcoming - we could have stayed for hours! Very much recommend a visit and will look forward to going again when next in the area.

We went to Winchester for a day visit and ended up in this wonderful pizza and cider restaurant. The choice of ciders was amazing, you could have tasters before buying. The pizza was also out of this world. Our only regret was that this place isn't in lincoln.Quality food and drink and very attentive staff. A bonus for us was that the cider can be ordered online, so we can have this taste back at home, i just wonder if they will do a pizza delivery?? Great place, we will be back.

OK it was Eat out to hell out. Nevertheless it was a great experience. From the moment we entered we felt very COVID secure. All staff were very friendly with drinks and food delivered in good time. A great family experience

Sadly we have had to just walk out of here. We were given a table, service was friendly and polite our order was taken quickly however after 25/30 mins we had to chase for our drinks and after an hour our food still hadn’t arrived. It wasn’t busy at all there were still free tables. I noticed that two tables who had come in at the same time as us had paid,eaten and gone. When we chased again they went to see where our food was, when they came back they said the pizzas were just going in the oven. At that point we noticed a table who came in long after us getting their meal served. I feel that they had probably forgotten to put our order through but no apologies for the wait and with a hungry 2 and 5 year this was not an ideal wait for food in a quiet restaurant. Shame.

I rarely post on TripAdvisor - Had a family meal yesterday, made my family and dog very welcome, had a table on the street but still felt the ambience of a restaurant. Anyway the reason for posting was the quality of the pizza, it was truly lovely. Joint all time winners of the nicest ever pizza award. When the food is this nice it’s worth telling people about. Enjoy.

Lovely fresh food with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options and an amazing drinks selection. The only drawback is the acoustics - the sparse decor, tinny music and high ceiling make it almost impossible to have a conversation, but then my kids just want to play on their phones anyway. The Stable has become a regular Saturday afternoon haunt for us, and as long as it keeps serving up great food and drink with friendly service, then it will continue to be so.

Located just off the main pedestrianised High Street is the Stable Bar & restaurant. Is it a bar or restaurant? Downstairs is a bar where you can order food off the menu although you go to the bar and place your order. Upstairs is a restaurant, you are served at your table and can enjoy all the drinks on the menu which are also served downstairs. The 3 of us ordered various pizza slices, I like cider but prefer still to sparkling and dry to sweet. Not a problem they have a large range of ciders to suit all tastes.An unusual but interesting concept. Always seems to be busy so it obviously works.

Stopped for lunch after some shopping. Very good pizza at a reasonable price, good service. Was quiet when we were in but expect it is more of a night spot as a cider and song bar ( live music certain nights).

The missus had been before and hence we revisited with the kids. Quite an interesting place. From the moment you walk in- nice broody atmosphere with nice lighting and space. We visited around 6 on a Saturday and found a table without any problem but can imagine it gets a lot busier later in the evening. The menu had some nice touches with an obvious focus on pizza but with spice that actually means spice. The side sauces were delicious especially the chilli laden mayo. The kids enjoyed their pizzas and felt were better than the usual national pizza chains. The jackfruit was spicy enough. The cider menu then tops off the experience with the biggest selection of cider I've seen outside the West country. The barman's knowledge and ability to offer tasters was something else. Highly enjoyed it and we look forward to going back to choosing other pizzas and trying different ciders! Please keep it up.

So as a cider drinker this is still my favourite place so we went for my birthday dinner. It was a week before Christmas so rather busy and we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table.It was our first visit for a while and the menu has changed. It used to be "Pizza, Pies ans Cider" with 4 or 5 pies but the pies appear to have been relegated to a very small sub-section of only 3 (including 1 vegetarian one). And when I went to order the wild rooster had run out which left a choice (?) of 1 meat pie...You'd think with only 2 on the menu now they would have thought to make sure there were enough for the busy period!!The steak out was good as were the pizzas and the cider tasting board was great as usual but just two years ago it was £7.50 and has now gone up AGAIN to £10 making it well over £5 a pint which is too much.Then when going to pay the machine asked if we wanted to add a tip!! This is expected in a table service retaurant but I had NEVER been asked this before in a place where you order and pay at the bar!!I really want to like this place and go more often but they are making it more difficult...

My friends and I were very impressed with the menu and the offers available here and the atmosphere when you walk in, from a cold day outside is lovely. At first the staff were quite attentive but after we had our main courses (which were really delicious) we had to practically drag the staff over to acknowledge us/clear the table/bring desserts. We waited AGES for 3 pre-ordered chocolate brownies and the place was not very busy. Quite disappointing and would put us off from returning. I would rather eat somewhere with better staff and service, sorry.

I have to say that these were the best pizzas I’ve eaten anywhere and I’m including all over Italy. So good in fact that we were back again the following day. We had all three of their vegan pizzas and they were all really good. If that wasn’t enough they have the most amazing range of ciders.

The pizza base is thin and crispy, no soggy crusts! We visited on 2 occasions last weekend and the standard was excellent both times. We tried all 3 vegan pizzas and they were superb, very very tasty. We tried lots of different ciders too!! I can highly recommend and we’ll definitely be paying another visit soon!

We stopped here for lunch and to try a couple of ciders on our last day in Winchester and loved it! So pleased there is one in London too. The food was great as was the choice of cider and staff were friendly and helpful.

We went here with three grandchildren of a fairly wide age range and found there was something for all of us. As other reviewers have said the pizza is excellent and well made with good ingredients and the range of ciders enourmous.

Amazing pizza but my beautiful girlfriend had the green dragon and it was unbearably spicy, and she really loves spicy food. It wasn't enjoyable for her. I had a slice and it took 10 minutes for my mouth to cool down again. Such a shame as its a lovely restaurant and nice cider.
