The Stable Bar in East Dunbartonshire

We felt the Stables was a little lacking in atmosphere - however, in winter with the real fire burning and a few more people it probably feels completely different.

Dropped in for an early dinner. Staff polite and attentive and a nice extensive menu. They’ll do half portions for kids too -which is great. We ordered more traditional pub fayre - and all meals were lovely and very satisfying. The prices were reasonable also. It’s actually hard to find an authentic cosy traditional pub like this around Kirky - and I can guarantee that we will return very soon. Many thanks and keep up the good work!

Extremely disappointed took my partner out for a Birthday treat and it certainly wasn’t that. No issues with service as that was quick and all servers were very pleasant and polite. Food on the other hand was terrible, I expect to have better food when I eat out. This was definitely not the case my meal was returned it was chorizo chicken penne which was latterly baked to an inch of cremation, when asked why it was baked when it didn’t stipulate on menu was informed to melt the cheese. Due to this process all flavour was extinct no tomato and basil sauce left to taste. My partner had steak pie which was average and edible. My pasta was returned for another dish which arrived after my partner had finished his, this was a burger which was again average, edible and bit over priced with what you got, a slither of bacon and cheese on top of a extremely small Pattie. So a birthday treat ended up with us eating at different times and having food that I could have prepared better at home. This was the first time in a long while I have been here due to poor quality food and it will be along time time before I am back. Recommend going to local Lidl and buying own ingredients, you will get a far superior quality meal.

We were staying at the hotel and dropped in here for a few drinks and to soak up the local atmopshere. Bar staff were friendly, with a wide range of drinks both on tap and bottled. Although we didn't eat here, plenty of local were and the food looked excellent and seemed very well received. The bar has a large TV and a pool table at one end, but still managed to maintain a traditional feeling. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Me and my boyfriend drop in for a nice late afternoon lunch and all in all the experience was first class! The food was amazing and the staff had created such a lovely atmosphere. Also special mention to Morvan - I think that was her name. What a gem and she honestly made our whole experience! Cant wait to be back x

they do not avoid the fact that this is a pub meal in bar surroundings. This means it can be busy and noisy. More salubrious restaurants are in the hotel building. The menu is varied and service is excellent. In winter a roaring fir adds to the ambience.

A wide range of adult beverages to choose from with very friendly and attentive bar staff. The food they serve is out of this world. I had several meals during my stay and I was not disappointed at all. They have a wide variety of foods available on the menu, even the pickiest of eaters will be able to find something they like.

An excellent bar with good food and well priced beer. Staff were very polite Would certainly recommend to all.

Best steaks ever, Fillet steak is my preference but Sirloin excellent with sauce. Friendly atmosphere and excellent staff to look after my requirements.

The inside is really nice, lovely lighting & roaring open fires. Staff are just great, very friendly & nothing is a bother. Food can be a bit hit & miss but staff happy to take anything back & exchange if there is a problem.

Not been in a while. The food is ok but as a vegetarian I always felt they catered more for meat eaters.

We have eaten here on a number of occasions and have always thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The Stable Bar shares the same menu and quality as the neighbouring Kincaid House Hotel, along with the same cheerful, helpful service. On our most recent visit there was a roaring log fire, perfect for a cold evening. The menu is varied and very good value. It is the first place that comes to mind any time we want to go out!

went here for bar lunch saturday.I can honestly say was poorest had in a long time.menu sounds good,but.....The hoummus and olive starter came with,and i jest not,triangles of pan white and brown bread.surely no self respecting chef would have put that out .the hoummus was tasteless inedible mush.soggy bruschetta.yuch.
