Visited on a very sunny Saturday and sat outside. This is a proper taste of Spain, not only with authentic food and drink but also that you need to have a relaxed attitude while you're there. Jose does everything himself, taking orders, making the food and drinks, clearing tables, etc, so its not fast food. Which is absolutely fine as its such a wonderful place! If you want egg and chips and someone who speaks perfect English then go down the road, but if you want to be charmed (including with the prices!) then come and pay Jose a visit, this place really is a hidden gem and highly recommended.

And on a cold autumn afternoon on the grey coast of Morecombe we stumbled across this little gem. Except appearances can be deceptive as this a wonderful, warm and friendly restaurant is actually rather large yet wonderfully cosy at the same time.So that's the look. The food is even nicer, we did only stop for lunch and we probably would not even have gone in if the owner, Joseph, had not invited us in to try his home cooked tapas and the rest is history. Very authentic, freshly prepared and served with charm and wit.Such a surprise to find this very unique establishment on esplanade and I am so glad we did.

We visited today for a late lunch and sat outside with our dog. I was surprised how large it is inside, it looks so unassuming from the outside. Menu changes daily as to whatever tapas Jose has made that day, but is written on the board outside or you can go in and see what's available. Only Jose was working but the service was friendly, laid back and very Spanish. What a lovely guy! We had seven different dishes (which was probably a bit greedy for 2 people but everything looked so good!). We also had a jug of white sangria and a red wine which were both delicious. Bill in total was £45 which I thought was very reasonable and we are always happy to support good local businesses. We will definitely be back and I would highly recommend if you are looking for a touch of Spain on Morecambe sea front.

What a great place! Visited some friends in morecambe and they brought me here knowing how I'm a fan of flavoursome foods that are a bit different. The foods were amazing we tried lots of different dishes and we enjoyed all of them, no issues! I will definitely be going back! The man who served who was also really pleasant and jolly, he was even Spanish and told us about where he lived in Spain and still goes back, so clearly the food is authentic. Loved it!!

I was in the same time as the below reviewer and thought I had to tell my opinion.Jose works very hard by himself to treat the people of Morecambe to some authentic Spanish tapas which he cooks every day.The person below was very aggressive towards Jose stating that his food was horrible yet when I saw the table the couple ate everything except the bread. They then refused to pay for what they had eaten and went on the cause a nuisance to the people enjoying their time in the bar.Everyone is entitled to their opinion but shame on you for displaying that kind of attitude. To the people of Morecambe, go and try Jose’s food, let him explain what he has cooked and ask him the price before eating, he even gives you some to try if you’re not sure - Don’t be like the below couple and upset him.

My partner and I have just visited the 'The Spanish Bar' today and I can honestly say it would of been cheaper to fly to Spain and have real tapas and got a suntan in the process !The food was cold and tasteless, the chicken wings were like toothpicks and the paella was Uncle Bens finest rice from Tescos !To top it all off everything was warmed up in a microwave. We were given a huge basket of bread, which I presume was aimed to fill our bellies, the food certainly wouldn't !We ate what little we had then asked for the bill, the owner took a long time to work out how much our bill was then hit us with an what must of been the Spanish national debt !Won't be going again !Madrid will be cheaper !

Jose is ace, he's got a mammoth bar with some great spirits on offer. It feels surreal having a sangria whilst in the West End, but that's one of the pleasures of it. A great little bar.

It is only open at weekends from May to September, very busy when the sun is shining. Amazing sangria (very strong), great wine and traditional tapas, we have loved everything we have tried. The owner is a great host, very welcoming. Only four tables outside but plenty of tables inside to eat at. A unique place that we love visiting in the summer months, reminds us of holidays in Spain.

This place caught our eye driving past a few weeks back and we thought we'd give it a try. Had a lovely jug of sangria with some tasty tapas dishes. Even though it was all pre-made and then warmed through it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Owned a run by a lovely spanish chap. We paid £50 in total for the sangria, 8 tapas dishes and dipping bread which we thought was very reasonable. Couldn't tell you what the opening hours are, it takes cash only, but we'll definitely be going back.

Called in on Sunday afternoon. We were the only ones in the bar which was a pity. There isn't a menu as much (well there wasn't on the Sunday we were there), the owner/chef made a selection in the morning and that's whats on offer for the hot food.We had meatballs, sausage stew, chicken wings, potato bravas and bread and one litre of sangria and the bill was £24.50 (£3 a portion and £12.50 for the sangria). We were offered additional bread for mopping up at the end.Food was really hot and very tasty. Sangria was yummy. The owner/chef was a very friendly Spanish chap who came and sat with us to talk of days gone by.The bar is situated right on the sea front between Aldi and Albert Road. A massive selection of drinks. I would love to see the place busier, perhaps on a Friday or Saturday evening. I don't believe they open late though, from what the owner was saying, they tend to shut at 9pm latest. We will visit again though.

We called in The Spanish Bar on a grey bank holiday Monday, after a long walk from Heysham and spotting they sold San Miguel. As you will see from the pic (taken before we decided to call in) we were amused by the collection of shops and on the seafront too!Jose is a charming character and we complimented him on his Tapas selection - sadly we'd eaten earlier - the spirit selection was pretty comprehensive and looked like quite a considerable collection, Madam commented on the quality of the Rioja and reasonable cost.Sadly, the front was very quiet, so our host was happy to chat and we quizzed him regarding our disappointment at Morcambe (it being our first visit) and how shabby it all looked. We were given a potted history, which was a little sad but no doubt replocated around the country.. lack of local governance, investment, a plan and forethought.. shame but he wasn't bitter. His hours seemed to be quite casual, opening late morning and closing mid evening (depending on trade), we were very tempted to stay longer and try the Tapas but had a prior booking. If you haven't been or are in the area, do give it a try.

After living in Morecambe for just short of 1 1/2 years, we finally caught this restaurant open.It only opens in summer and when the weather is good according to the owner. The Spanish owner, Jose, is a lovely character. The restaurant has a nice authentic feel. We tried a few different tapas and tried a couple twice. My favourite was the chorizo in red wine and my husband loved the Spanish prawns. We had a look at the many Spanish bottle above the bar, which brought back memories for my husbands, from his time in Teneriffe. We were so pleased we had managed to find it open.
