We could not have had a better experience, the Management and staff should be rightly proud of themselves. Frendly service good food and we all felt that we were in a safe place considering the Covid situation

We really enjoyed our visit this time - We were well looked after by Emma and her team, and the food was terrific - couldn't fault anything. All the Covid safety protocols in place, but well integrated into the general service, so a nice feel good factor.If visiting, do yourself a favour and try the Slow-cooked Beef & Porcini Bourguignon - it really is delicious, and you won't leave hungry!

We had the takeaway fish and chips. the fish was very small and greasy.The chips were frozen not thrice fried as the menu said. The cost was over £25.

Waited 50 min for our main course not happy. Having said that when it eventually arrived it was very good, this has happened before to us.

Mushroom starter, really bland, mains my steak was completely raw, despite asking for Medium rare. I can eat blue steak, but it was very tasteless, like it had been frozen, and whats serving sprouts with a steak all about? I like them but they don't go with steak. The whole evening was pretty bad to be honest. its a shame because its such a lovely little pub. The waitress was great, but completely run off her feet and not able to be attentive

My wife and I had an overnight stop in the holiday inn hotel next door. Being tired we phoned up and ordered two medium rare ribeyes. We were told to pick up in 20 minutes. The steaks were cooked perfectly as were the chips, tomato and sprouts. A really enjoyable meal

This was my first time at The Snow Goose and I can highly recommend it. There is lots of parking so that is a plus and, although not the weather for it just now, the outdoor seating area looked lovely. We were welcomed by a member of staff and talked through the covid procedures and despite arriving on spec we were lucky to get a table. The décor and ambience is really lovely and very festive and welcoming. The menu had something for everyone. We had a main meal and a lunch sandwich both of which were very tasty and nicely presented . Food and 2 drinks came to £25. The whole experience was made even more enjoyable by the 2 lovely waiting staff Jodie and Sarah who were so pleasant and efficient - thank you! I will definitely go back to The Snow Goose and will make a reservation to avoid any disappointment.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the new management team of Emma and Craig for bringing the Snow Goose back to life .I was there last thursday and friday with my wife Catherine the staff were very helpful and friendly in particular Jodie and Jenna and the chef with the pony tail - sorry didnt get your name we had a meal on the friday night and the food was excellent turkey with trimmings and sticky toffee pudding we had a few disappointments years gone by but decided to give the Snow Goose another go and we are so glad we did we had a great chilling out couple of days so good we are back in two weeks see you then keep up the good work Brian and Catherine

Good choice for a decent meal and friendly staff. I’ve never had a bad meal there. Lovely setting and good parking.

Went for a 7PM booking, had the Pork Belly- excellent, would recommend.The Stickt Tofee pudding wasn't quite as good, but still enjoyable.

We eat here for my boyfriend’s birthday evening dinner. It was incredible! I had a steak (rare) & sticky toffee pudding and my partner had mushrooms to start, a steak(rare) again and creme brûlée to finish. Everything was perfect. The steak was cooked perfectly, the chips were beautiful and the onion rings were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. My only criticism is that the brussel sprouts were dry and sort of out of place with the steak, but other than that it was incredible! The desserts were AMAZING! So lush, can’t wait to go back again! The staff were friendly and helpful and I will be eating here again!

Visited for lunch with my friend this afternoon for the first time, on entrance the restaurant was really cosy and felt welcoming. The staff were great as well, all very attentive and warm (they were also all enforcing and abiding by Covid restrictions).The meal was lovely from start to finish. For start I had the mushrooms in the cheese sauce - I do wish the portion was a little larger with more sauce, but it was very tasty how it was. My friend had the calamari and she said it was delightful along with the sauce it came with.For mains I had the burger which was wonderful, so tasty and well seasoned. The chips were fantastic as well, everything tasted very fresh and was served looking lovely. My friend had the lasagna that she enjoyed as well.The whole meal was really lovely and the atmosphere was very nice. The meal was very fairly priced and we will defiantly be returning.

It's been some time since I was last at the Snow Goose as the quality of food then had become disappointing. On this visit though, it had, in my opinion, returned to it's former glory as the lunch was fantastic. Seated beside a lovely fire, I had the brisket beef sandwich with chips which was extremely tasty followed by the Banoffee Pie which is now my new favourite. My sister had the Gammon steak and Sticky Toffee Pudding which she also enjoyed. Service was excellent, friendly and responsive and COVID instructions clear and concise. We will definitely be back!

Upon entering the maitre d told us about the Covid measures in place and I’m pleased to say the restaurant stuck to them rigidly. Tables were very spaced and we felt safe eating there.The cut down menu had a fair choice of food, I went for prawn cocktail to start and beef bourgignon for main. The starter arrived quickly but was poor, wilted lettuce and a few prawns covered in a tasteless sauce. I was now fearful about the mains and while it took a while to arrive, when it did appear, it looked good. Better, it tasted great ... tender beef, in a rich sauce, with tasty mash, stewed carrot and a cheese dumpling. Really flavoursome and totally filling ... the best mains I’ve had at this chain ever.Sarah gave us excellent service and I have only one question remaining ... why can’t you inject the same amount of loving flavour in your starters as you do with your mains?!

La mesa frente a nosotros también tenía problemas con una persona que se servía unos diez minutos después que todos los demás. Las comidas estaban realmente bien, aparte de la hamburguesa del niño, que era tan dura que era como la suela de mi zapato, así que mi niña comió papas fritas y guisantes para cenar. ¡Gracias por eso! La visitamos dos veces durante nuestra estadía en Ardeseir y solo desearíamos haberlo encontrado al comienzo de nuestras vacaciones de una semana en lugar de al final. Nach etwas Recherche im Internet haben wir im The Snow Goose an einem Sonntagabend einen Tisch reserviert und uns sehr auf den dort angebotenen Sunday Roast gefreut. Dort angekommen warteten wir erstmal 30 min um endlich einen Tisch zu bekommen, trotz Reservierung. Am Tisch angekommen wurde uns dann mitgeteilt, dass KEINE der Sunday Roast Angebote und die Hälfte der übrigen Sonntagsgerichte verfügbar sind. Ich verstehe es, wenn man etwas nicht verfügbar ist, aber nicht mehr als die Hälfte der Karte und vor allem nicht eine halbe Stunde zu warten, wenn man zuvor reserviert hat. Über das Essen kann ich leider nichts sagen, da wir daraufhin gegangen sind.

Definitivamente es recomendable llamar para solicitar y hablar con alguien. Llegamos y después de una pequeña queja nos sentamos en el bar.Luego fuimos recibidos por dos servidores y nuestro pedido fue tomado. La comida era muy buena y llegó con prontitud. We really enjoyed the food here. The starter and drinks arrived in reasonable time. The mains were a little longer.However, the desserts took over 45 minutes to arrive. If we come back here I will not be ordering dessert again for that reason. The food is great and the place is really working on compliance, social distancing and one way routes but the speed of service is just too slow.

We were over in Inverness for a car service and had plenty of time to kill, booked a table last minute for a lunch break, first time we have eaten out since relaxed rules of covid. Made to feel very comfortable, the place felt very normal under current circumstances. The food was very good, service was very good and will visit again when we are back in town.

Been here a few times now and every time we have had an amazing meal with excellent service from the friendly staff cant recommend enough has never disappointed us.

very good food, big portions. They are part of the government scheme. And do require a booking. They are very busy during the Monday to Wednesday. They do need more staff on during these days. The place is socially distanced. The host was funny and delightful.

Visited with my family during a recent trip to Inverness. Good options for meat eaters, vegetarians and the kids. Covid procedures were followed and we felt very safe. We also had a dog with our party, and the pub accommodated this well. Would not hesitate to visit again

Visited twice. Busy during government discount period.Had a few courses both times. Food fine. Decent portions. Discount made price reasonable. Can see restaurant work very hard at Covid compliance. Well done. Busy especially on 2nd visit. Felt they needed an extra member of staff but all friendly. Book especially as very busy with discount period.

Food was great, steak cooked exactly as requested. Good quality food and arrived perfectly on time. Service was excellent, polite and efficient. Brilliant experience shame the place isnt near my home!

Came on our way home back to Ballachulish, they don't have a proper vegan menu at the moment, but they have a few options. I had the Supergreen Salad and added pine nut falafel from the starters. Followed by Coconut Sorbet which was delicious. The boys had gammon and chips, which they enjoyed. Really lovely comfy cosy place to eat, friendly staff.

Had food here on July 18th. This is such a lovely pub. The food was lovely. Enjoyed the larger and the staff were so friendly. Felt very safe with the stuff in place for safety with covid and do recommend.

Just had delicious meals at the Snow Goose with the family and the dog. Steaks beautiful and fish enormous.Felt very safe. The dog made to feel very welcome too. Friendly staff and the icing on the cake was we were given the 50 percent incentive discount.

Turned up for a couple of drinks, left after one. We hadn't booked in advance, however didn't expect it to be such an inconvenience to the gentleman at the front door who took an age to figure out all we wanted to do was sit in the empty beer garden with 13+ empty tables and have a few drinks. All he kept saying was how busy the empty pub was and how he would struggle.Now, during the current climate I've been to a few bars and restaurants and I have to say the measures this place are taking are beyond a joke. There's a tiny wee sign on the post as you walk in to say it's a 1m zone. To be a 1m zone you have to take meaningful measures to add protection to guests and staff and there was nothing here. As we were stood in the doorway in a small enclosed space whilst our contact details were taken not one single staff member had a facemask or visor on. All walking about casually like it was pre covid19. No protective screens anywhere on the bar or around the seating areas. Staff delivering food and drinks to tables, again with no masks or visors. The jokes began when we were asked to sanitise our hands...from the guy stood about 30cm from us with nothing covering his face.We eventually got to sit outside in the beer garden and when we got our drinks they had to be delivered to a table by the entrance and we had to go and collect them. Not an issue but it made us laugh as us being outside couldn't have drinks delivered to us but people inside could have food and drinks delivered to their table by a staff member with no mask. Complete joke of a set up. Cost cutting and not a single bit of consideration for safety measures. Will not be back to a vintage Inn again. Greene King in the several restaurants around Scotland so far have been above and beyond in their safety measures.

Visited today -worst meal I’ve had in Inverness -pate was 2 inches square served with a runny pink and yellow something! Not home made and not edible and not served with the chutney described on the menu. Sourdough bread dry and no butter - pulled ham toasted sandwich had neither pulled ham or was toasted . Table behind us was vacated and table not cleared or disinfected before other two customers sat down . Would not be back and definitely would not recommend. I would have expected much better when hospitality businesses were in dire need of trade

We had a really warm welcome and the service was great throughout. The staff were really friendly and attentive. The food was very tasty and good value for money. Social distancing was being observed well and there were lots of measures in place to keep staff and diners safe. It was a very relaxed atmosphere which made for an enjoyable meal.

Part of the Vintage Inns chain of hotels they have a good menu. Good food, prepared well and a very reasonable price. Friendly staff with efficient service. One way system and well spaced tables in the current covid-19 situation with front of house manager ensuring that measures are understood and applied.

Up in Inverness sorting out family matters and stayed local to the Snow Goose, so booked a table for Sunday evening. Easy to book and explained all the Covid-19 policies clearly. Table for 7.30pm, all tables were well spaced out and staff fully aware of all precautions etc. Drinks and food were delivered quickly. Food was really good and great value. Staff were all very friendly and service was excellent. An enjoyable meal, in good surroundings dings and well priced. Thank you.

First meal out since Lockdown. Clear one way system. Everything cleaned regularly. Phoned was excellent and staff very professional and friendly! Highly recommend.

Just seen another review which described the Snow Goose and reassuringly safe and think that sums up the Snow Goose well. Dog friendly. Staff very friendly and professional. Made us feel very relaxed. Been travelling around Scotland for a week and everywhere is different but the Snow Goose really came over as professional and responsible. Add to that the fact that the food was really good made this a really enjoyable visit. The manager (I apologise but did not catch his name - gentleman from the North East) was a really good and reassuring host and a credit to Vintage Inns. Would thoroughly recommend.

This was first restaurant I went to post lock down & was a bit nervous, however the manager and team are super and its clear that everyone's safety is paramount. Tables socially distant and due to masses of space it feels very safe. Strict track and trace process too, but best of all is the food! Fantastic few meals recently and very friendly staff. We will definitely be eating here regularly.

Post lockdown visit, our first pint, glass of wine in a pub/ restaurant setting. The staff were excellent, very friendly & welcoming, kept us right regarding the various adaptations. Food was very tasty, we had a delicious beef bourguignon and the kids menu was ideal. Tables well spaced out, sanitizing stations and good signage to help you navigate thr weird new norm we are living in. Thanks for a great night.

We had booked a table online for our family of four and our dog for a Sunday lunch . Very welcoming staff , dog friendly place and good food . Loved the cosy decor too. All social distancing and hygiene standards were adhered to. Definitely will come back again .

We went here for a meal at night. We hadn’t booked, but they managed to seat us, so booking is recommended. We were met by a great host and waitress. The food was great and reasonably priced. They didn’t have all their menu items, understandable under the current circumstances, but what they had was great. Travelodge and a few other hotels were nearby. Only wish we didn’t live 7 hours away! This is a great local pub on the A96 from Inverness on the way to Culloden.

Went for lunch today, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic and all social distancing and hygiene was adhered too. Definitely worth going too

Me and my family visited on the opening day during lockdown, we felt really welcomed and safe which was a treat for a party with a child that suffers from social anxiety really badly. Proper service with a smile and staff were relaxed which is a great feeling for us.

Serving staff wearing masks.Food was fantastic service was bang on and made me feel relaxed and welcome again, very homely. Guy name Craig is well friendly and helped us. The kids were so happy too.

We had a lovely time with our friends having a few drinks for the first time after many quarantine months..we felt completely safe as the tables were distanced from each other and we sanitized our hands whilst entering and leaving the Snow Goose.

Popped in on the way past on the off chance a table and some food. There was a guy who was in a suit and blue shirt very friendly. Food was banging the rib eye is the best I have had in years.Beer was really good.The social measures that the bar has taken is reassuring.Track and trace, hand gel on arrival.Stickers on the floor.Table service. All servers wearing masks.I actually spoke with the manager and he was so approachable.Will deffo be back.

Been eating on and off at the snow goose for the past 20 years. And it will be safe to say this is the last time I'll ever step foot through the door. Standards have always been a hit and miss with the place but always liked the atmosphere inside. Food ate as where hungry. The fish was non existent and onion rings well speaks for itself. They should be embarrassed putting this out....enough said.

Have been going to the Snow Goose for many year I was totally disappointed by the quality of food provided today! The onion rings looked like they had been kicking around the kitchen fryer for weeks as did the roasted parsnips! The meat was very fatty and poor quality! Felt that the meal had been thrown together and no care taken with the cooking of it! To top things of my partner found a fly in her meal! Would not recommend going to the establishment anymore! Unfortunate

Very disappointed. Took a friend for lunch today. We ordered from lunch time menu. My friend ordered fish and chips. It came out with 3 tiny pieces of fish and a handful of chips. I’ve had bigger pieces of scampi! 2 bites and each bit was gone. There was more batter than there was fish inside. Also felt very rushed. I’d put my cutlery down to let good digest and waitress was over in a flash to take plates away. Heard so many good things but got us it was first and last visit.

Lovely surroundings with a blazing open fire. Food was middle of the road, staff were lovely and the prices were reasonable.

Había reservado con anticipación y pedí una mesa cerca de la puerta debido a uno de nuestros grupos con problemas de movilidad. Eso fue acomodado sin problema. El restaurante no parecía estar muy ocupado los domingos (tal vez la sección del otro lado del bar sí, pero ciertamente la nuestra no). La comida llegó bastante lento a la mesa, los entrantes no fueron tan malos, pero los platos principales demoraron mucho. Cuando se nos preguntó, nos dijeron que estaban esperando que se hicieran los postres de Yorkshire. Cuando llegaron los platos principales, la comida no estaba a la altura de los estándares habituales. La carne estaba bien, no era genial, pero no era desagradable, los postres de yorkshire que aparentemente habían causado el retraso fueron bastante decepcionantes. Bastante duro y bastante frío.Los niveles de personal parecían ser bajos en la parte delantera de la casa también. Unas pocas veces nos dejaron esperando en el bar durante bastante tiempo y no parecía ser nadie.No es suficiente para evitar que regrese otra vez, como he dicho que he estado antes y siempre lo disfruté, pero fue un poco decepcionante.

Have visited here in the past and it's been mediocre, but my recent visit was the first in a long time and I already am planning my next visit - excellent place!

Had a great meal with our family, all the food was tasty, well cooked and truly great value. I personally had battered fish and chip. The one dislike I have about battered fish is when the batter is left soggy. The Snow Goose cooked it perfectly without me even mentioning it...well done! If you like bread and butter pudding then you'll love theirs......in fact their puddings are all delicious.The staff are very friendly and efficient and offered to take a family photo for us....thanks! Its a relaxing place to go as you never feel rushed between courses or to hurry up out as in some places.

Lovely family meal. Love that my son who is dairy free got to eat a decent meal and dessert. The wagyu burger had a vegan bun and dairy free mayo. Then he had the vegan cheese cake which he loved!! Thank you! Our meals were great too...the marmalade bread and butter pudding was a favourite!

Me and the wifey met up with some friends for lunch and we wasn’t disappointed!! Great place open fires friendly staff very clean and inviting, the food was fantastic we had the lunchtime special all cooked fresh and very tasty thank you we will be back!!

Been a few times in the past few years and had reasonable meals. Went tonight at 6pm and wanted to have Sunday roast. The trio roast was off the menu as finished. No yorkshire pudding for any of the roasts. Any capable chef should be able rustle up a yorkshire pudding but obviously beyond the staff here. Second item my dad tried to order was off the menu too, one of the pies. I decided to have the roast beef, nothing was offered to compensate for the loss of yorkshire pudding and what arrived did not even include everything on the menu and was a meagre portion. 2 small slices of grizzly beef. The roast potatoes were dried out and inedible. All the roast vegetables were dry, burnt and overcooked. The addtional pigs in blankets were not pigs in blankets. My dad also had the roast and exactly the same. A number of things were left on the plate but the waitress never asked how the meal was. Obviously knew it was well below standard. As normally asked if everything was okay. Based on the main course did not have pudding. Waited and waited for the waitress to come over with the bill and in the end went to the bar to pay. When waiting for the bill, overheard the waitress telling the table behind us the that two different puddings off the menu too. Sub par meal and various items not available on the menu. Go elsewhere.

We were greeted by the bar waitress who gave us a very quick erratic 20 second speech on what to do in the restaurant . Most people had no clue what was said at all including us .

Have eaten here many times over the last 20 years and its had its ups and downs. Recently though it has become a reliable option for a comfortable, relaxed evening meal with a good menu and friendly staff.

Was staying at Hotel near by and thought I will go here for a bit to eat Sunday night checked opening times for dinner last meal time 9.15pm, we arrived at 8.15pm we saw people getting there main course served. A young guy comes out and says because equipment not working in the kitchen, funny that as people getting their main course served as I arrived.

Venue is lovely and pleasant and staff are polite, if under trained. The Snow Goose main aim I feel is to squeeze as much money out of you on your visit as possible and slam you with a big bill for an average food delivery. I had a sharing plater which was nothing to shout about, with small portions considering it was for 2 people. I then had the wagu burger, where I was offered extras to put on the burger, if I hadn't added an extra I would have recieved a burger in a bun twice the size of the burger with some lettuce. I asked for halloumi as an extra in the burger, there was no mention of cost on the bill or by staff for the extra but I assumed it would be a £1 /£1.50... nope on receiving the bill it was an extra £3!! For two tiny slices. I could have the choice of fries, skinny fries or sweet potatoe fries as fries were included in the burger and fries item, this cost an extra 50p again no mention of this extra cost. My Dads fish smelled bad and was cold, and to top the night off, my girlfriend order a sauvignon blanc large glass at £5.90, un aware of the other sauvignon blanc on the menu at £8.75, I questioned this billing mistake, the waitress said no that's the wine she got and she admitted to basically choosing the most expensive wine out of the menu. After some discussion she did change it but the policy line is well you drank it and you hadn't notice so therefore we have to charge you... poor show. I dont think I will return, its expensive and there is to much secrecy of the prices, i believe the job of the staff is to inform you of all information about your choose and extra costs, especially if it is not detailed. It's a shame as the venue is very good. But they could do so much better, over priced for the standard of cooking.

Sunday evening. I'm not keen on roasts but I suspect that Sunday lunch had taken its toll. 5 on the menu, only 2 available. Roast potatoes lukewarm, vegetables cold. I succumbed, mainly because the rest of the menu was so unadventurous and steaks (2) overpriced. Belly pork portion was generous and meaty but crackling ..no way! Gravy also tepid.

Dinner on a stormy cold night, lovely warm atmosphere next to the log fire.

Just got the app so gave this place another go. Two nice main dishes and coffee with small desert. Nice food nice portions. Lunch time and place got busy. Staff at busy times pushed but copped just.

This was quite a nice venue, On the Friday night we attended however the establishment seemed very understaffed. Long waits for everything. Quality of food was ok for the price, I did however send a portion of onion rings back which were disgraceful and should never have left the kitchen, they did remove them from the bill. The waitress was great and worked so hard. I would return as no-one can get it right all the time and perhaps next time will be better.

When the four of us arrived at 6:30 the restaurant was very busy but we were lucky to get a large table in the corner. The restaurant was quite quiet later. Good selection, all reasonably priced and all very tasty food. Service really good considering how busy it was and we had a lovely time. We asked for our hot chocolates to be made warmer and they were swapped over with no problem and with an apology. Only wee gripe was that three of us had paid 50p extra for Portobella mushrooms with our steaks and when they arrived, each plate had one small mushroom, certainly not a Portobella one. Not a great problem for the sake of 50p but it was the person behind the bar's attitude when my sister mentioned it when we were leaving after being asked was everything all right?. He said they had problems in the kitchen and that she should have said before paying for the bill. A bit unfriendly considering if they had explained in advance the lack of Portabello mushrooms and perhaps provided two of the small mushrooms then we would have had an excellent experience in the Snowgoose.

Great service and fantastic waitress. Drinks were decent also. Food was nice although veg with the lamb was overdone but for the price paid the portions were small and we were all hungry after main course and eagerly eyeing up those who were slow to finish. Would we go back? Yes - if the portions were bigger!

I love pubs like this, although new-ish, old world pub. Great selection of drinks and food. Typical pub food but very well done. Great surrounding and fair cost. We went twice, its not in the city centre but serves the local hotels more.

We spent New Years Eve here and had a really great night, the staff were so nice and welcoming as were the other customers there. By midnight everyone was like old friends. Drinks are reasonably priced, the place was cosy with log fires burning and there was a live act on. The staff behind the bar are so lovely. Some confusion at midnight over who should have announced midnight so there was no countdown but we just caught it in time. It was a very memorable night and we would definitely go back there next year, and recommend it to others.

I went for a meal tonight food was was burnt Service was terrible had to wait a long time for deserts then to be told it was not been cooked had to order a different desert that was terrible too not be going back
