We had dinner a few days ago and can only recommend this place. The food was amazing! I ordered the vegetarian Jalfrezi and it was the best curry I have ever had. The vegetables were cooked to perfection! Beautiful daal too, and any place that serves Aspall cider is in my good books. The service was attentive and polite, and the food arrived quickly. It was a perfect evening in a stylish restaurant.

Excellent service and food! Staff were very accommodating for my nut allergy. Delicious food and great atmosphere. We will be booking a table again soon and trying the take away! 😃

Had a gorgeous anniversary takeaway from here last night! It’s great that you can get Indian or Thai, because I had the green Thai curry (wow!!!) and my boyfriend had Indian food. Great service too and looks so good inside! Really big portions😍😍😍

Thought we would give it a try as they had a 20% offer on for takeaway - ordered Pad Thai and some sides. The pad Thai was bland and very sweet. Food was average not the standard we thought it would be for the price Unfortunately will not be returning

Overall really disappointed with our takeaway this evening! The quality and quantity of food received was appalling. Our meal tasted like it was out of a jar and was expecting so much more for the price we paid! Even with discount for ordering online we spent £40 and didn’t receive enough food for two, won’t be returning that’s for sure!

I ordered my food online, I forgot a dish, when I went back and added it, I realised I had completely reordered the whole lot again. Phoned instantly to cancel the second order. Was told by the man who answered that there was not a problem and he thought it odd that I'd done it. He went on to tell me that my card would be refunded as soon as his boss came in to work. I waited a couple of days and phoned again, still not processed the refund. Phoned again and was told the refund had been processed, but it would take up to a week to show up on my statement. That was in July. Luckily I paid by credit card, I have taken the matter up with the bank and will get a refund eventually.Very upsetting experience, will never order from them again.

The first time we went, before COVID, it was very much average but the 2nd time we ordered was for take away. The web site is very easy to use and order through. We ordered the lamb medras but it was not good. Way too much lemon grass! So our once a month take away was a real let down. It’s such a shame as it could be so better.

My wife and I went to The Snooty Mehmaan on 27th February and had a fantastic meal. The service was excellent and the food just fantastic. Fortunately we live very close so we will be going quite often

We came here for Sunday lunch as we both fancied something different, we both went for Thai and what a great choice. Well cooked beautifully presented and so tasty, we'll be back.

Having visited this restaurant many times I am always amazed at the constant standard of service, food and ambiance. Given that it also says Lounge Bar and Restaurant on the sign I’ve taken to popping in for a “beer and a poppadom” or two - always very welcoming.

Christmas Day lunch , second sitting , buffet service as much as you want to eat.Good choice of Indian /Asian food as well as traditional Christmas food . We had Indian dishes which were very tasty .The staff were friendly and welcoming. My own personal dissapointment was that much of the food (chicken especially) was luke warm .This was probably because it was second sitting and other diners left lids open after serving themselves.

4 of us came here for the ABBA tribute night in December. The entertainment was superb. Food was lovely and tasty with good service. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you very much.

Stopped here on our way back from a visit to see Santa with our three children aged 9,6 and 7 months. They treated our girls like princesses going above and beyond to accommodate them. Even providing chicken goujons and chips for my fussy 6 year old. Everything was delicious and we were all “mmming” our way through our meal. We will definitely be returning

My friends and I came to snooty for an ABBA tribute band and Indian buffet. It was awesome. There were about 60 guests and the restaurant had got the balance of guests to floor space for dinner, then dancing absolutely right. The team were attentive directing people to the buffet with efficiency and effectiveness. The buffet was delicious and seemed to cater for everyone’s tastes. Everyone in my party really enjoyed the entertainment,the portion size and quality of the food. We agreed that it’s a place to come back to for another event. Brilliant team !!!! Thank you

Had an absolutely great time. The staff are really nice and you are left wanting for nothing. The act was amazing he could really sing and was a fabulous entertainer. If you like good food and fun this is definitely worth a visit.

First visit - extensive menu with wide choice of Indian and Thai dishes. Head waiter tells you what’s in each dish you order which can be useful or patronising depending on your viewpoint. Drinks served quickly, food slower even though not busy - worried there’d be a long wait if all tables full, but it was acceptable on our visit. Nice surroundings and tasty food - enjoyable evening, would visit again.

Ate here after living close by for years and wondering why the car park is always full. After checking it out on trip advisor we decided to go when my wife and my parents were visiting. We all had starters to share and mains. The food was really nice and tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Definitely worth a try if you are passing or live nearby.

Presumably once a roadside pub, now has a good car park, charming waitresses, and little else. Head waiter bossy to customers and staff, but inadequate. Of nine dishes, one left out a key ingredient (he blamed the kitchen but did nothing to rectify), three were over-cooked until meat or prawns were dry (microwaved to warm up sauces from freezer?).

Was out for a drive and needed to eat drove here 100's of times in the past but this time decided to stop, so glad we did, lovely restaurant, good ambiance, good menu and charming staff, food prices competitive with in town places, lovely.

I honestly don't think I could go anywhere else and know that I'm going to get an amazing tasting meal quite like I can here. Dangerous having it down the road from my house as now I'm always craving Indian food!! Good service. Food always tastes brilliant!

This is no ordinary Indian/Thai restaurant. Undoubtedly one of the finest in the county. As usual I had a chicken biryani served in a beautiful earthenware pot with lid and special madras sauce. Incredibly flavoursome! Great quality and quantity food at a very fair price, served with a smile in a very pleasant, clean and spacious restaurant. What more could you ask for?? Do give it a try you won't be disappointed!

the staff were immediately friendly, the atmosphere was cordial and the toilets were spotless! The food was terrific. It was a difficult choice between Indian or Thai but we went for the latter. Next visit we will try the Indian Menu

Staying at Mollie’s Motel about 5 mins away and they recommended eating at the Snooty. It was quite quiet for 8pm but the location on the A420 probably has a lot to do with that.

A delicious meal, served by attentive and very courteous staff. Lovely linen, glassware and cutlery and top marks for cleanliness. The hot (temperature) food was delicious, served on hot plates in hot serving dishes. A rarity but so lovely to have this. Thank you chef!!

I visited this place when it first opened, probably over a decade ago and it had some teething problems as expected.

Wow... we are lost for words. My fiancé is Indian and very picky regarding Indian food and I can honestly say that was one of the best meals we have ever had. Brilliant service, fantastic experience. The food was outstanding, thank you very much!

Moving to the area soon, we thought we would try out an Indian/Thai meal. We weren’t disappointed with this fabulous restaurant. The waiting staff were very attentive and the food was superb... I had Thai and my husband and family had Indian... we all agree it was simply the best!! A***

I have grown up on Indian and Bangladeshi food, got a takeaway from here (Indian and Thai) and the food was absolutely out of this world. Amazing, so tasty, a little on the pricey side but for what you pay, the flavours are incredible. Hoping to dine in the restaurant next time!

A party of five visited this restaurant for the buffet Sunday lunch. The buffet was a good selection of Indian and Thai food (I found the Indian of better quality than the thai) and the it was particularly nice to see a fish curry included. The service generally was attentive and the drinks menu gave a wide selection, especially of gins. The overall bill came to £12 a head for food plus drinks which we thought was exceptionally reasonable.

Stayed in Burford visiting my Dad who has Vascular Dementia, I cannot begin to tell you how well we were treated, as we arrived staff opened doors as we had Dad in his wheelchair they then put a portable ramp down a few steps and escorted us to our table.

We’ve had a few takeaways from here and really love the food! We’ve had a one off problem where we got a chicken curry instead of lamb, but the curry tasted so good, it really didn’t matter! There’s often a wait to collect orders on a Saturday night but that’s only to be expected when you see how busy the restaurant is. For somewhere more remote, it really seems to attract the customers! Order well in advance on a Saturday evening (we tend to make sure we order before 6 but you can choose a collection time) and you won’t go far wrong. A bonus free beer whilst you wait is also a very good gesture that they offer!

We went to the Snooty Mehman for a family birthday dinner and the whole experience was first class. You can choose between Indian or Thai cuisine, we had a mixture of both in our party and the dishes were equally delicious. They have a number of award winning dishes which is no surprise.The staff are very welcoming and attentive and genuinely appear to enjoy working there. The decor is tasteful and the atmosphere felt very warm and inviting. When we left we said to each other that we felt as if the staff had genuinely wanted us there...a rare feeling in our experience! We will definitely be going again and highly recommend you give it a try.

Great selection of dishes, reasonably priced and beautiful quality. It was the Sunday buffet. Never been to eat here a la carte but I certainly will after such a delicious meal this lunchtime.

The food here is fantastic ! The flavours are just amazing and the meat just melts in your mouth . The staff are excellent very friendly and helpful. I can honestly say it's a must 10 out 10 can't fault anything . I will definitely be eating here again .

Went as a party of six for a birthday celebration. The menu is extensive and takes an age to read and decide. The food was served promptly and was of a very high standard. I did find however the Snooty Beef a little on the chewy side.

Went there for first time for Sunday lunch buffet on 21/10/18. Warm friendly welcome by manager Russell and staff, all seem to be knowledgeable of their food and beverages. Taken round to see what was on offer. Plenty of Indian and Thai choices for starters and mains, plus some deserts. Place almost full when we left. We had a really pleasant enjoyable meal and will definately go back.

The menu has old favourites, but some unusual anddelicios items. The Chicken Thigh Tikka starter was one of the best I have tasted. The prawn dishes were generous with very large and tasty prawns. The Imperial Thai starter platter wasalso very good. Service attentive and fast. A great find.

The menu is extensive & all delicious. The atmosphere is very relaxed and calm. Good value & yes they do takeaway.

We just called in on a Saturday evening but were acomodated without a problem and the high standard of service continued throughout the meal. The food was really tasty and sampling all the dishes made one realise the sublity of the various spices and methods of cooking. Portions were generous and good value but we managed a dessert to finish a delightful meal - and you must try a mango lahassi (i think that is how you spell it). I could consume a gallon if it!!

Really good food! Have visited this restaurant many times and have never had a bad meal there, the service is outstanding. The waiters are so quick and always asking if everything is ok and offering more drinks etc.

We visited for the Sunday Buffet having booked our table for 2.00pm sitting down at about 2.10pm. The food was lovely all very nice with a good selection, Sadly what could and should have been an excellent visit was spoiled when we were almost chased out at 3.00pm,

The food was excellent and the service was excellent and the atmosphere was amazing. I really enjoyed the food. I would recommend this place to anybody. The all you can eat buffet starts at 12pm. You can book a table or you can stop on your way to town and get something to eat. The staff are very efficient and friendly and welcoming. Please take the time to enjoy this wonderful restaurant.

The service and food at Snooty Mehmans is excellent but expect to pay for it! Mains tend to be around £12.50 each plus rice and naan etc.

Staying in faringdon for a course at the defence academy. Found this little gem of a curry house. Not an average place. Ordered a mix grill it was insanely nice. Fantastic service even gave me a free drink. Thanks very much. I will be back again

Visited on a Tuesday night, rather quiet, with only a few tables occupied. Started with popadums and chutneys, very good and plentiful. Lamb shank with subtle Indian spices was very tender, while monkfish with cauliflower, two of my wife's favourite things, was a most unusual curry and greatly enjoyed. A baby aubergine dish and rice pilau completed a great meal. Conventional (i.e. non-Indian) desserts - I had the "chocolate stack" (with two spoons), which was good. Staff very friendly, though the person who took our orders was rather dour! Good value for unusual cuisine.

We visited the Snooty Mehmaan on a Sunday to visit their lunch buffet. The central sort of area of the restaurant is transformed into the buffet area. It is laid out with starters and salads, sides, mains and also a small dessert area.

This is my second visit in just over a year. Sadly my initial judgement was spot on. The decor, extensive menu and high prices lead you to believe that you may be in store for a special treat, sadly that's not the case. The food is very ordinary, in fact quite bland. My main course was over cooked and the chicken quite tough, the special fried rice I chose was hugely over cooked and quite dry, my keema naan bread seemed to have almost zero keema, the desert choice very limited and the lemonade I had must have been the smallest bottle I've ever seen. The pricing is well over the top and all in all once more a huge disappointment and I am unlikely to try again at the SNOOTY Mehmaan.

First class service. Good variety and quality of buffet food. Only comment would be it would have been nice to have a more varied choice of dessert, what we had was good, but could have been better. As with all of these like restaurants drink prices are at the top end, but acceptable. Would certainly visit again.

We stopped off on the way back from Oxford for an early dinner. The place was very quiet when we arrived so no wait. I am sure there would be more atmosphere in there later in the evening when the tables started to fill up. The staff were friendly and checked a couple of times to make sure everything was OK. The food was good and well presented.

Went out tonight as part of a large number as a birthday celebration. Ordered drinks on arrival. Astounded at £6.95 for spiced rum and diet coke!! No draught coke etc so had to buy small bottles at £2.95. This also then made shandy just under £6 A pint!!! The starters arrived and for the price the portions were exceedingly small. 2 tiny squares for the prawn toast and 2 small pieces of lamb for the starter. The mains were much better sized although I was very disappointed with mine as was very sweet which didn't match up with the list of ingredients. Naan bread and rice was very nice as was our side dish. Couldn't fault the service. Will go back for the buffet as last time was very good value, but really need to sort out your portion sizes for your starters and your mixers for drinks. Not great when you're driving having to pay these prices!!

Well I ordered our take away meal online before 1700 which would give us a 15% discount which is good as the Snooty Mehmaan is very expensive even without the discount. I drove to the restaurant and went to use my £20 voucher which was a present. They wouldn’t accept it. I asked if they wanted to lose £50 revenue in prepared cooked food or renegotiate they still wouldn’t budge. Oh well there lose.

I have eaten at this restaurant a handful of times and had a few take aways too. There seems to be a fairly regular period of several months in between each trip and I now suspect that this is because it is ultimately a disappointing culinary experience. On this most recent occasion my wife and I were entertaining friends and were very disappointed once more. The food is OK, but just no more than that. The restaurant itself gives an impression, both with its decor and general feel, that one should expect something much more than is delivered. The pricing also suggests such an expectation. Ultimately though, the food is just ordinary.

We went to this restaurant to give a birthday surprise treat to one of our relative who lives in the area of Oxfordshire. Location wise not easy to find as it can be missed if you are driving on the motorway and not familiar with the area as it seems like in the middle of no where.

Excellent for parties, nice place, staff very good, and helpful,food very good, they have bands there too. We went to a party, and had lovely Indian food, very smart place. A little expensive but was worth it to us, it was our first time, good for new year's eve, so some friends say.

Lovely unusual food in restaurant that seems to just be in middle of nowhere, outside Oxford. Very welcoming staff and the evening ended with cheerful handshake. They have won lots of awards. Busy restaurant but speedy service.

An annoyingly off-the-wall name for this restaurant, based apparently on the fact that this was formerly a pub called – equally annoyingly – ‘The Snooty Fox’. No idea what a Mehmaan is, or what it has to do with good food, and I can’t be bothered to Google it. But anyway, moan over, everything else about this place is just great. Sometimes, these ‘both Bangladeshi and Thai food – you choose’ restaurants are a bit ‘Jack of all trades; master of none’, but that isn’t the case here at all. I’ve eaten off both menus, and been with companions eating from ‘the other’ one, and the food has always been consistently delicious, well cooked, and well presented. It is indicative perhaps of the quality here that I have seen the staff from a competing establishment having their dinner here! There is a good range of drinks, too, including some interesting beers from around the world. Other places could take note of this – it’s so easy to stock a few of the less usual and more interesting brews, especially when they come from the same parts of the world as the cuisine. So, a really good place, consistently reliable, and good fun too.

We booked this with friends to celebrate a birthday by watching the Freddie Mercury tribute act. It soon became clear that we were a normal "a la carte" booking rather than being seated around the buffet/dance area. Apparently you have to click a different button on the website to specifically book a seat for the tribute act. It would help if this was made clear at the booking stage.

Needed something on the way home from a day trip & stopped at the Snooty Mehman. They were fully booked, but after a 10 min wait with a drink & menus we were seated. The menu looked lovely, but we decided on a set meal for 2 to try out their dishes. Poppadoms, Starter, Mains, Dessert & Tea ... We couldn't finish this amazing meal & had a doggy bag!! Lovely, attentive staff & clean fresh atmosphere, a definite recommendation.

We are lucky that we can bring our children most places we like to eat. Some restaurants aren't always sure how to react when you bring a 5 and 9 year old for a curry! However the staff were fantastic and playful. The menu is great because you can have something more unusual and still pick more common curries too. The children shared and Tikka Masala which was lovely and had lots of chicken, great for sharing. My chicken Lababdar was exceptional. The naan breads are light and fluffy and the best I've tasted. We love this restaurant. It's not cheap for curry but you certainly get something beyond all other curry places.

Although they organise specialist evenings, if you book online, you do not get any indication that the event is full. They will still take your booking and it is not until you phone or arrive that you are then told that you are not in the promotional area, but the main restaurant with no hope of seeing the entertainment!!!! Terrible!

On the way home from a shopping trip we stopped to see if we could get a table in the Snooty Mehmaan, which we had been advised was good. We had a pleasant although cheeky reception, and a table was found. The restaurant was quite full but the service was good and quick. The meal was excellent - tasty and hot and well presented.All the waiters were helpful and attentive without being overbearing - Naz gave us his name!We will definitely go there again and take friends and family.

Thought I would take my grown up children here for a treat and it was highly enjoyable. Nice setting, good food and reasonable prices considering its location.

Had some visitors to entertain at short notice, didn't fancy driving up Oxford and quite frankly the only place that I can rely on for quality of service and food was the Snooty Mehmaan- I can't actually remember how many times I have visited but each time it gets better-

At £12.50 for a main course I was expecting so much more than the average, overcooked food I was served. The staff really didn't stretch themselves to be welcoming and even though the restaurant was less than a third full there was a long delay on the food. We went on a Thursday. I dread to think what the delays are like when they're at capacity. With such high prices it raises expectations that they just couldn't meet.

This was our 3rd visit and once again it was lovely . We went with our children and their partners for a Father's Day treat . ( went on a sat night ) having to travel from Swindon our taxi was running late we rang to inform them and was told it was no trouble as the table would still be available. The food was wonderful and having a vegi in the family made no difference as they they had plenty of vegetarian food and as my son has no animal products at all they were happy to accommodate his food . He did say that the tofu pad Thai was the best he'd ever had . I only had one niggle and that was one of the waiters was not very helpful ( yes we do all have bad days ) and I asked if we could not be served by him and the other two waiters were very helpful and pleasant ( he did only serve us our starters and didn't take any orders ) . The wine food and service ( apart from one blip ) was very wonderful . We as a family had a really lovely evening and as before will go back . I would recommend the visit as the food alone is worth traveling for .

We had a really good visit to the Snooty Mehmaan for their Fathers Day buffet. The food was very good, with a good selection of dishes, constantly being replenished regularly. The dishes were well spiced and everything was hot. The staff were friendly and the naan bread, which was delivered to the table, was fresh and nicely squidgy. The deserts were all cold dishes but as it was a very warm day they worked well. I enjoyed the rice pudding. There was also chocolate cake and a fruit salad. The day of our visit was very hot and the restaurant was cool and comfortable. "Father" got a free bottle of beer.

I've never experienced such service. Sultan was the name of our waiter and he definitely used "Snooty" in his service. No recommendations were given when placing our order; just sarcasm. No check backs to ask if our food was ok. We were so disappointed, we didn't even stay for dessert. If funny how one individual can ruin your meal and destroy the company's reputation. I would never return.

This was our first visit and we were very disappointed from the moment we walked in. We were not made to feel welcome and felt a bit uncomfortable to start with. The staff did not offer to help the ladies with their seats, but seeing other female guests come in after us and staff actually holding their seats out for them made us feel that because we were Asian they didn't need to bother. This is ironic seeing it's an Asian restaurant. The waiter that served us to start with (Sultan I think was his name) was not very approachable and came across as very sarcastic when we were placing our orders. Looking on as other people came in the staff seemed to make conversation with all of the other tables apart from ours. Could not fault the food, but the staff were less than attentive and we left feeling as though we made a mistake going there. The level of service was not to the standard which we are used to when we go out and we are not Snooty people, but the staff there clearly take the name of their restaurant seriously and are snooty. Sorry to say we will not be visiting there again.

This was a birthday treat. It's been a while since we've been out for an Indian meal and the reviews we've seen and heard suggested this was the place to go.The restaurant is very easy to find, spacious inside with lots of parking. The staff are attentive without being over bearing and are on hand to answer questions about the menu. We had the mixed platter to start- the king prawn and paneer were delicious, the chicken was average and the lamb was pretty chewy and just too heavy a cut for a starter. I had the sea bass chefs special for main and it was lovely. Beautifully cooked and just the right portion size. Not sure how well Indian flavours work with mashed potato though! My partner had chicken tikka masala which had a generous amount of chicken but which he said wasn't any more special than the usual takeaway offering. We skipped dessert as just too full!Overall, not quite as wonderful as we had hoped but I'm looking forward to giving the Sunday buffet a go!

Having lived in the area for more than a decade, I have grown used to enjoying their consistently tasty indian food, so well prepared and presented.We move to Wales next week, so it was nice to have a final meal there.Service is always efficient and friendly.Prices are reasonable, and as we were on a Groupon offer, it was particularly so.Maybe we will be back one day, but, until then, I recommend that you try it, particularly when it has an offer on.

We ate in the main barn area which was very cold but we did have a table at opening time. It was 2 adults and 2 kids, the staff were reasonably friendly but didn't make much of an effort. The menu has lots of choices from Indian and Thai, we all went for Indian. Starter wise we went for the mixed starter for two, the tikka king prawn was lovely, the lamb wasn't great and the chicken tikka was cooked lovely. Main courses were also nice, I had the chicken shaslic masala, it was cooked very well but the spicy sauce lacked any flavour beyond spice. The kids shared a chicken korma which was lovely and creamy and they ate it all. The naans breads were very nice and cooked to perfection. The downside is the price, it's no nicer than your average high street curry house yet the entire bill (with no alcohol) was over £100 so about 25-30% more than the competition, the service was no better and the food wasn't worth that sort of uplift. We are fairly local but doubt will be back again.

My family plus 5 others went for the Sunday buffet lunch. The food was plentiful both in choice and did not stop coming. Excellent choice and very good quality. Would recommend the buffet to anyone on a Sunday

We visited on a Saturday evening the place was nice and the staff pleasant and polite, the meal was nice but not outstanding and sadly I do not feel it was good value our bill for 4 was just on £200 with only two drinking, I may return To try the Sunday Buffet which looks good and good value

We enjoyed an excellent evening out at this restaurant. The evening involved a tribute act - brilliant - and a delicious buffet meal. The buffet offered both Indian and Thai options. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The place was heaving and everyone seemed to be having a fantastic time - well we certainly were.
