Very kind and lovely people! Gorgeous and incredible ambience, everything is so clean and the view is breathtaking. We were here very briefly but had a lovely time :) thank you!!

Since renamed Gray's, I was here on a Saturday lunchtime in October. Located just outside Bushmills, across the road from the way to the world famous Giant's Causeway, it would be difficult to pick a better setting. The Inn is clearly a popular venue because even at this time of year, by the time we were leaving there weren't many free places to sit. Nevertheless the service was excellent as was the food. First class!

Had a sandwich which was great. Bar menu. Good service also.

Adam was very professional and courteous and made my stay worth while. My phone was dead and they made every accommodation to help me charge my phone and keep me warm and dry

The new decor looks fantastic but the standard of food was terrible. My burger came with red sauce and mayo already inside the burger. I like a bit of both but it was drowned in both sauce and mayo, was was maybe just as well as the burger was overcooked and very tough. My wife's Cajun chicken sandwich was flavourless. The side salad on both plates was a handful of cress (nothing else). For the money our lunch was terrible

Having stayed here with my wife for many years past I was expecting friendly & good service as before. I was not disappointed in the Staff who were Great but the Manager was sarcastic & insolent to the point of self satisfied rudeness which made me feel.ill &.sorry for him. I tho k.he should mot be in.a customer facing environment! Made me sick & spoilt stay. Will retain.happy memories but will .NOT be back.meantime. Large bug appeared from under bed on.morning of departure. I think it was going to check out same time as me but I made it earlier!

Etwas abgelegen von Bushmills am einfachsten mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Wir haben vorbestellt auf anraten vom B&B. Es war sehr lecker und gut. Es hat uns sehr gefallen. Wir waren nur zum Essen da und somit keine Bewertung für das Zimmer möglich.

Quite honestly, this was among the best dining experiences of the past year for me! The food was gorgeous (see below) and the location was perfect (also, see below), but it was the staff that really made the evening. The Smugglers Inn is now being rebranded as Gray's, and is so worth a visit. The interior decoration and nice lighting are beautiful and really set a comfortable and upmarket vibe! Back to the staff, though: Yvonne, Patter and the manager, Adam, were so kind, welcoming, and friendly that I want to go back again tonight, and then tomorrow too if I could! They were chatty and full of smiles, but didn't bother you if you were clearly busy eating or mid-conversation!

The manager showing us to the restaurant was very “abrupt”. He looked like a John Cleese but at least John Cleese was funny. Service is slow. Got one of the meals incorrect. I just ordered chilli chips, peas and carrots. I had 2 small carrots for £4.50 . Few peas same price. Chips was reasonable for the price. The others ordered fish and sandwiches. Two soft drinks and Guinness. Our bill came to £110.00!1 We asked for a breakdown and the manager got stroppy and was not prepared to give us a breakdown. A heated argument turned out that he just said go away I will pay out of my pocket. We would never have a meal and not pay but we had the right to ask him how he came to that price . Very said that this is a behaviour under new management . I would advise to all check your invoice .

Now Gray’s hotel. Fantastic refurbishment done to the property. Very tasteful. The day we went they were fully booked but managed to fit us in. Beautiful food served by professional and friendly staff. Looking forward to our return visit and maybe even a stay over.

Fantastic hotel on main road outside bushmills, a good stretch of the legs if u wanted to walk into the town...room was HUGE the one we had, no 10, we were given a family suite with a double & 3 single beds.....foid & service was brillant...the cost was a bit steep at €183 or £150 per night for B&B due to location of the hotel outside the town...felt it could b a bit more reasonable....renovations in public areas downstairs r fab, love the gold n navy combo

Needed to change lodging unexpectedly. The Smugglers in is now Grays in. Was able to get a short notice room, called about two hours before we checked in. Lovely atmosphere and wonderful breakfast offered.

Average place with below average parking. Many better choices.

We had a wonderful two night stay at this hotel. It is a lovely place to stay! Very helpful staff. The rooms were big and roomy. We had an amazing breakfast each morning. We are one night in the dining room and one night in the cute pub! I still think about the food! We enjoyed good drinks and entertainment in the pub. I would definitely recommend this as a great place to eat and stay.

My Sister booked a reservation for a family meal recently and when we arrived for our meal the receptionist couldn't find our reservation, it was also under a different name, once we got it sorted we were shown to our table which was very nice upon receiving our menus we ordered our food which when came was nice but the portions where not huge for the prices that are on the menu, the atmosphere in the hotel though was nice and the Decor is lovely plus the bathrooms are well finished with a lovely glass engraving of a man and woman on each door..it's very convenient for visiting the north Antrim Coast

Not a great selection for gluten free. 1 starter and 2 mains! But the rest of the family enjoyed their meal and theirs all looked very yummy! But of a poor show though for those who are gluten free

We were staying nearby and didn't fancy cooking... Wide family group with a wide range of ages and a vegetarian in the group. We all found options on the menus and the children had a tough time choosing as they wanted everything! Staff were very welcoming and excellent customer service throughout our visit. Everything was spotless and food was delicious. Portions were prefect size. We were astonished at the price; the food and experience was underpriced for the quality we received. We will be back again.

The Smugglers Inn has been taken over and rebranded by Gray’s. Wow - we had a fabulous meal with friends. Gluten free? - not a problem. Glenarm shorthorn steak - a real triumph. Pork cheek - melt in your mouth delicious. Warm Artisan breads with a selection of Abernethy butters - amazing. Hake - total perfection. Staff extremely knowledgeable regarding the menu. Very welcoming and extremely efficient. We will certainly be back - sooner rather than later. Prices - very good in the current climate, definitely competitive,

This is now called Gray's definitely worth a visit if you're at the giants causeway.

Called in here last Monday while on holiday in Ireland. The service from entering to leaving was impeccable, very attentive front of house and waiting staff, the food was very impressive too, especially the steak and Guinness slow cooked beef. We loved it that much we booked for the Saturday night to take friends there who were flying over on the Friday. We were at a loss as where to go on the Tuesday night for dinner and we both quickly decided on the smugglers again (Grey's) as it was that good and very competitively priced. All in all we are there 3 times and was not disappointed at all. Can't wait to go back there, and have already started looking at staying here the next time. Highly recommend this to anyone.👌

Family been coming here for 10 years . It has new owner . Very disappointed indeed . Gone is much of the character that made it The Smugglers Inn to be replaced by modern upmarket restaurant . Would not go back again to eat or stay .

Great hotel,(now called Grays Hotel) friendly staff, very spacious room and very comfortable surroundings. The food in the restaurant was superb and the location is ideal for the Giants Causeway ( < 5mins drive) & Bushmills 😃. The kids loved it.

Amazing location, views, and building. It felt like I was in a movie. I think the bed and pillows weren't very supportive or comfortable, but we were both so exhausted from travels it didn't matter and we fell right asleep! The bathroom however was very updated. Lovely lounge and decor, such a fun vibe and atmosphere! Definitely hoping to come back and stay for longer next time.

Popped in for a meal,to find it's under new management and going to change name and the prices have changed ,- a lot . Upwards. Good menu and choice however my meal was totally below standard and had to be returned . Another choice selected which was good ,but at the new prices ,shouldn't happen. Would we return again. Highly doubtful. A bad way to end years of going to Smugglers Inn. 3 star food at 5 star prices but the service and staff were good.

What a beautiful place with very friendly staff, a delicious breakfast and a cosy room - a must on a tour, when visiting the amazing north-coast of Ireland. Thank´s for this experience!

Ich gebe nur zwei Sterne, da beim Essen Preis- Leistungsverhältnis bisschen übertrieben ist. Was die Personalfreundlichkeit betrifft, ist noch sehr viel Luft nach oben. Beispiel: Ich hatte einen sehr schweren Koffer (20 kg). Der Mann am Empfang hat mir zugeschaut, wie ich den Koffer die Treppe hochgewuchtet habe, da ich ihn nicht tragen konnte. Gleiches bei Abreise. Ebenso war er bei der Auswahl des Frühstücks extrem unfreundlich. (Wir wollten bestimmte Zutaten nicht. Er meinte, das ginge nicht und hat nur rumdiskutiert. Am Vortag war das bei einer Kollegin kein Problem). Insgesamt max 1 Stern fürs Personal.

Do not come here; The food is too good to share with you lot. Breakfast caters for vegans, meat-eaters and sword-swallowers. There are choices here that I haven't seen anywhere else for lunch. Dinner menus include set or ala carte, even a picky eater will find something satisfying. So, leave it out, you will be tempted to stay and that just won't do. The seafood chowder is mine, mine, mine.

First time here since under new management. Disappointed. Meal was ok but overpriced for an afternoon menu. Staff were lovely but unfortunately will not be back anytime soon.

We had dinner at Smugglers Inn/Grays Hotel last night and were sat next to Ann R. Firstly - food was lovely, big portions, dining room was recently renovated and staff very accommodating (5 stars - will visit again). Now onto the debacle that Ann R caused. You’ve probably heard of, or known a Karen, but Ann R is the Queen of Karens. This lady said to staff there was nothing on the new menu they could eat - even though I heard her entire party all pick something from the menu before staff came over. Either she has the memory of a goldfish, the taste buds of a 7 year old child or she just wanted to cause a scene. She proceeded to pour their fizzy drinks into their water bottles (which they didn’t pay for) and storm out, being extremely rude to staff and shouting the whole way out of the front door. We felt very sorry that the staff had to deal with such a mentally unhinged customer. I really do hope the chippy she ended up getting didn’t give her the runs. That would be a real shame.

Ignore review from Ann R. The staff were extremely pleasant to her when she argued about the menu. Yes, the menu had changed but it was their first night of service and things don’t happen overnight! She made a big scene in front of all other guests, who were enjoying their meals. The staff handled themselves very professionally and even offered their drinks as complimentary. Food was delicious (in fact there were definitely options for both plain and fancy eaters!) and a beautiful view! Would recommend.

The lady Ann R who has reviewed with a 1 star rating is being very deceitful. Regarding the menu, yes the menu had slightly changed with a few items but the menu offered was larger than the menu was only and had more choice while still offering all the same meats etc. she was consistently rude to staff and ended up shouting at multiple staff on the way out of the restaurant leaving multiple tables actually apologising to the staff that they had to deal with such an awkward customer. Food was beautiful and staff were very accommodating!! Highly recommend especially since the take over (and yes thing do take time to get sorted!!)
