Was there Tuesday night for dinner,order fish chips,watied half an hour for the meal,there was more batter them fish and very over cooked , servers wasn't that great as well , definitely wouldn't go back .

A really good meal and drinks celebrating my partner's birthday. Stu, who cleared our table, was very friendly and chatty made us feel at home. Next thing we know a celebratory bottle of prosecco arrived at our table. What a great gesture complete with fireworks. Many thanks to Stu and the Slugg and Lettuce, we'll be back.

You guys really need to check out S&L. Their service was on point. The food was exceptional and arrived promptly still piping hot. Service from staff was welcoming, nothing was a problem or a concern. Enjoyed the time we were here. Thank you S&L.

Disgusted and extremely disappointed with our recent visit to the Slug and Lettuce Omni Cenre Edinburgh which completely ruined my daughter’s 21st Birthday. A few weeks ago we visited Edinburgh to find a suitable restaurant for my daughter who has learning disability to celebrate her 21st Birthday with ourselves and three friends aged 20,21 & 21 all of which have varying degrees of learning disabilities. We decided the Slug and Lettuce had a nice menu and looked quite fancy and would make a lovely outing for the party. We booked a table at 6pm on Saturday 20th July and planned to go to the cinema afterwards so would be leaving the restaurant by 7:15pm. We noted we needed ID and made sure we had this with us when we set off. We arrived in Edinburgh at 12pm and dropped off a 21st Birthday cake which also had a candle in the shape of 21. When we arrived at 6pm we were received by a very unwelcoming waiter/manager who said we would need to show ID immediately. He would not even show us to our table before this was done in the middle of the crowded restaurant. We had four ID’s with us although one had been left in the car. We offered to go and retrieve this but when this very abrupt man found my daughter’s young Scot ID did not have a hologram on it he said there was no point getting the missing one from the car as we could not stay. ( I have never been asked for this hologram in the last 3 years of using this card) . We advised him this had been booked for weeks and we were celebrating our daughter’s 21st birthday and would not be staying long as we had the cinema booked. He advised us we were best to leave as we would have to leave the restaurant by 7pm anyway. We advised him we would rather stay as we had nothing else booked and if we could be served quickly then we would leave by 7pm. We were shown to our table at 6:10pm and tried to use the app to order . Despite trying three different phones we could not get the app to load and decided to order at the bar. At 6:20 when we were standing trying to order at the bar the same man found us again and advised us the wait for food was a minimum of 20 minutes and so we could not possibly have our food and eat it before he would force us to leave. He suggested we should just leave instead of trying to order. Sadly we felt there was no choice other than to pack up and leave meaning my daughter who was proudly wearing her 21st Birthday badge had no birthday meal and we left admits many tears from the young people we had with us. We retrieved the cake and headed for the cinema, not at all the celebration we had planned. We feel that there was definitely a degree of disability discrimination going on and the waiter/manager did not want a party like ours to be seen at this establishment. My daughter was the only one without the acceptable hologram on her ID and she cannot drink due to a medical condition. None of us were planning to drink alcohol anyway as this was an escorted group of young people with learning difficulties. Surely common sense would prevail and no one could imagine that three adults in their 50-60s would pull off such an elaborate stunt with 21st cake and badges to get 4 young people with learning disabilities into a drinking establishment when they were not even planning to drink. This appears to be a perfect example of petty minded bureaucracy at its best. If I had taken the time to read the poor reviews before booking I would have saved my daughter all the upset on her special day and gone elsewhere.

Booked boozy brunch with friends and our server Ryan was brilliant. He always made sure we had drinks and the food was delicious as always.

Haven’t been in a while and so glad we came back, we had the same girl Eve serving us as last time and it was just as lovely an experience! recommend the Sea You Lateer and woo woos!

Its been three months since I had this experience. I took the time because 1. I was so angry after the interaction I had with the two staff members I knew I wouldn’t be writing rational thoughts 2. I actually kind of forgot, life gets busy, you get it. But let me take you back to March 2024. Have you ever been spoken to like you’re the absolute sh*t on someone’s shoe? Like you’re a total bane of a person’s entire existence just for daring to exist? Remember the nasty mean girl in high school who would try and make you look stupid or embarrassed in front of people just because it made them feel good about themselves… collate all of that and it pretty much sums up 1. How I was treated and 2. How I left feeling. For context, I’m 28, worked in retail for 10 years. I'm originally from a council estate and still currently living in a deprived area, straight up, we’re sound people, pretty damn reasonable and don’t for a second think we’re above anyone else. I’ve never sent a thing back at a restaurant and having worked retail for a decade, I know what its like to be mistreated at work and wouldn’t doing that to someone else. A group of six of us went out for drinks. We’re an average age of 30 now so these social gatherings are few and far between and our wild days are behind us. A few nice cocktails and a catch up are all we are after. I guess this staff member (early 30s dark-haired male, it was giving goth, but, tragic, never grew out of my goth phase and still dress like im in 2013 goth) was having a bad day… ok, we’ve all been there. But how you deal with people who can do nothing for you – particularly on those bad days - really shows your character and this man has all the character of a stale wotsit. The initial interaction of me trying to politely get this mans attentions to be yelled at across the room “I’m busy right now!” (while making zero eye contact because why would he treat us like human beings, right?) was bad enough. So, we (as we have done many times before) sat ourselves. Once sat, this man’s self-placed stick was clearly digging right into his rectum because he decided that wasn’t ok with him. Yells across others’ tables that we can’t sit across two tables because one had an -UNMARKED- reservation sign on it – amazing to have a plain bit of paper with zero information on it, go off uninformative queen. Okay, no problem. We can see this man has decided were his punching bag today so we’re putting up zero fight and we all shift round one table. Nope. This is also clearly world destroying to him and we get snapped at again in the snarkiest tone ive heard in a long time “you cant sit there”… OK Gretchen Weiners. I then ask “Ok, well can you help us out?”…He simply replies walking by our table and making zero eye contact again “BUSY” just loud enough so other people can look at us and make us feel really embarrassed in an establishment he knows and feels a lot more comfortable than we did. In addition a hand was raised and flicked at us to dismiss anymore questions. It clearly wasn’t working out and we just decided to leave. Before going, I asked behind the bar if we had done something wrong. I guess this bar has a policy to back your workers even if they’ve got the emotional intelligence of my left tit. Dark haired lady (manager/supervisor?) behind bar was just as unhelpful, very dismissing, and started to blame us. I then simply asked her.. “If someone spoke to you like that, what would you do?” she couldn’t even answer me. Just said “well I don’t know cause I'm not in this situation”. What a gorgeous sh*tebag cop-out. You know fine well you’d leather this man and his stinking attitude in the back alley. I’m honestly so gutted to have this experience. The drinks are phenomenal and so well priced. Truly just sad it went the way it did because I’ve never had a bad experience here before. Hope it doesn’t happen to anyone else.

Called in last night for pre theatre meal. Food was very good but surpassed by the service we received from our host Lewis. It’s nice to meet restaurant staff who actually enjoy their job and interaction with customers. We will be back.

Food was good and reasonably priced but evening was completely ruined by loud music blasting continuously. I thought the restaurant part would be quieter than the bar but it was the same volume! You couldn’t talk at all.

Great service - Ryan was fab at the bar! 😀🥂 Ordered some cocktails and drinks and he was so kind and fun! Speedy service and helped with my dietary requirements too for drinks.

We went out for bottomless brunch for our friends birthday, our server Fraser was extremely helpful and nice and made sure we were all looked after and our drinks were topped up! Such a lovely atmosphere he provided and we will definitely be back!

We came here before going to the playhouse. The new theatre menu is amazing! Our food came out in under 15 minutes, which was for myself and 4 friends. Was pleasantly surprised as it was clearly very busy. Food and drinks were delicious. Special mention to Hannah who was great!

We came for brunch the drinks were fab. Our waitress Eve was so lovely and caring she made sure to very need was met, happily come back :)

We booked the Boozy Brunch and it was great. Our waitress was named Eve and she could not have been nicer. She was so accomadating to us all, could not have been more nicer. Will def be back because she was so great.

Long wait for reservation and to be served. Deposit not taken off bill and told would have to go on line to receive or have another drink.We chose to have another drink to save hassle…wrong decision.We waited a further 15 minutes for drinks then got told they needed our table.Were told we could sit in another area, realised that table had booking so moved to another.Was then approached by a very confrontational member of staff to say we would have to move again as that table was booked( no booking on table).We said we were only here as had drink because they would not refund deposit to be told in a very rude manner that we could have got our deposit back. Very disappointed by attitude of staff.

Nice atmosphere, pleasant staff, but food like desserts hardly any choice, way, way too expensive and tiny portions. My main course was fine, but my daughter didn't like hers.

I visited the Slug and Lettuce in Edinburgh's OMNI Centre on Saturday the 9th of March with my family. We had booked for a the Mamma Mia Brunch. Not quite sure how this can be advertised as a Mamma Mia brunch. All they had was a Mamma Mia banner, some cheap plastic glasses and headbands. Thirty minutes in I asked the server if there was any entertainment or at least some Abba themed background music. I was told that they did have some background music on earlier but that the Abba themed playlist must have ran out. I had to ask for it to be put back on. Felt sorry for the small number of people who had made the effort to dress up. You would never have known there was something going on if it hadn't been for them. The bar service was terrible. It took 40 minutes for us to get our first drink and we only had a two hour reservation. A poor experience with false advertising from the Slug and Lettuce!

We came here for dinner before a show at the Edinburgh Playhouse. We booked a table online beforehand, when we arrived we had to stand about until a member of staff came over, then again while they found us on the system. At the time we arrived it wasn't too busy on the side with people eating so could probably have walked in without booking and got seated faster. I went to the bar to order 2 meals and 2 drinks. Asked for a fish and chips and a steak to be told no steak left (this was at 6.00pm on a Friday) so ordered another fish and chips. Took the drinks and sat down. We waited 40 minutes for the food to arrive. There was a table of 2 near us who had finished their meal before ours came out (the lady at the table was in front of me at the bar and ordered her food right before me). It got to the point that we thought we were going to have to leave and try to get something elsewhere or we would be late for the show. There was a table of 6/8 sat on the other side of our table who just seemed to get louder as time went on, to the point of being unbearable. The food was OK, large portion of fish. Had 2 cocktails while i was there which are on the menu as half price at £6.25 each, which is a reasonable price for a cocktail. My mum doesn't drink so it was good to see that they had a few AF choices on the drinks menu. Used the app to order a second round of drinks which came quite quickly. It isn't the first time we have been here for a pre-theatre dinner, but the experience on this visit would make me think twice about booking again before a show.

Absolutely disgusting service, my daughter and I stood at the door to be seated, we stood for ages until someone from the bar came over, we was told just to sit anywhere and order at the bar, the restaurant was empty except for a few rowdy drinkers, we sat down at a table and the drinkers got louder, we put our coats back on and just left, I will never go back there again and I will be telling friends and family to avoid this place.

Terrible service, so slow and the app is useless! Ordered drinks that never arrived, waitress blamed the app and I’m still waiting on my refund over a week later!

Felt sorry for the staff. They were all quite young (20's) I didn't see any evidence of a manager. It was a busy Friday evening, our booking was 5.30 -7.30 pre theatre. We booked ahead online. On arrival we were given a table in the bar area not the restaurant as we had been advised online but that was ok. After ordering we waited an hour and 20 minutes for our food, watching others who arrived later being served big orders before us. The table next to ours hadn't received their food either (also going to the theatre) and were VERY upset at the service. Our food eventually arrived at 6.55pm, so we had literally 20 minutes to eat it and leave. Some of the things we wanted weren't on the menu. It just seemed like chaos. Won't be going there again pre theatre. The staff were overwhelmed, there clearly weren't enough of them or they weren't organised enough to cope.

Came for cocktail class- Fraser served us and was amazing! So chatty and welcoming. Great activity for the night! Would recommend.

Really disappointed with the whole experience. Booked ahead and paid deposit for large table booking, first booking for dinner then another straight afterwards for drinks. Met upon arrival, gave name of booking and were told no table service. They advised us to go to bar to order and could get table service there as we had paid deposit. Bar tender told us that wasn’t possible despite us being told otherwise. We also weren’t allowed to start an “tab”, even though having it on a bill at the end would have been beneficial due to 1) the deposit being taken off and 2) we were splitting it between us and hasn’t ever been a problem anywhere else . We Ordered the food at the bar and it was a lengthy wait, which we didn’t mind as there was 12 of us. We ordered another round of drinks before food came and had to cart each of them over to the table (even though other tables had gotten table service and a tab). Food came and it was okay, but there was a few items not available so having to go back and forward whilst ordering to swap out items was a bit of an inconvenience. An hour after food was finished, table wasn’t cleared. Felt like all staff were avoiding the table. We ordered (at the bar) another round of drinks and by this time the table was full, so we started to carry the empties up to the bar ourselves. Someone came over and started to clear but only done about 1/3 of the table then disappeared. Another 30 mins passed and we started to clear the table ourselves. We spent a fortune and had the money to do so but it just didn’t feel like a pleasant experience at all. Only plus was the 2nd booking we had for drinks they allowed us to stay at the same table (even though we previously requested that), after they had told us they needed the table back in 10mins. I think this was so they didn’t need to clear the table. Certainly don’t expect be waited on hand and foot and we were a group of 12, aged between 24-64. Not under any pretences that it isn’t stressful for staff on a sat night pre theatre, but the bar wasn’t overly busy and felt like we were just a hassle as soon as we walked in the door. Cocktails were tasty, food was average, service let it down. Won’t be back.

Ordered drinks, chicken burger and sharing slider burger tower. Food arrived with no sliders on the tower. Went to get the waitress and asked about the sliders, she wasn't aware of the missing burgers chef told her the order was ready. Showered her the menu and the picture was nothing like what was presented. She apologised and took the food away. Came back offering alternative bugers, as chef never told her that they were out of sliders!Waited another 20 minutes, and eventually cancelled the tower and received a refund. Same happened to another couple near us. As we left they were still waiting for their burgers. Shocking service.

I visited here on a Thursday night with a friend. The cocktail offer is very reasonable. I phoned up earlier in the day to book a table which was very straight forward. On the phone and on our visit staff were polite and friendly.

Went out for drinks/lunch with a friend. The staff understood that we arrived earlier than our booking and sat us down. The booking process was very easy and the drinks and food we had was delicious, we’ll definitely return soon.

Visited briefly for drinks and the staff where absolutely amazing, so friendly and funny. The drinks where amazing, definitely worth it.

We would just like to thank Rianna for her amazing customer service tonight after having issues with the app to order. Rianna looked after us when the app failed on us. She took our orders personally and kept checking on us every so often to see if we needed anything. She engaged in conversation with us and gave recommendations. Amazing service and amazing food. Visited on an evening with two colleagues and 3 wheelchair users we support. The waiter was very good with the ladies we support and really couldn't do enough for us. He was very good with our strange requests and really helped make it accessible so all of our ladies could enjoy their meal out. The food was great too!

Had an amazing night here!! The staff were all so friendly, accommodating and positive, and made us all feel welcome and comfortable. Servers were really attentive and made sure we were happy with our orders. Cocktails and food were fab. 10/10 would recommend, definitely be back!!

Drinks took half an hour. 30mins before reservation ended were told we had to leave immediately due to lack of staff. No apology, bad attitude from staff all blaming each other. No offer of discount, refund or anything. Evening ruined.

Currently have to book a table in a pub. We booked this between 8-10pm and received an email advising that out table was cancelled at 4pm. Nowhere else to go on a Saturday evening as everywhere is booked.Thanks Slug and Lettuce for spoiling our night out

Max is the best bartender in the place he was brilliant and had good chat. The decor is quite basic but the staff make it bareable.

The bottomless brunch was good value for money and service was to a generally good standard. Our group visited on a Sunday which was not too busy compared to other times- hence would recommend.

Called in without a reservation and not a problem for Ross on reception. Showed us to our table and was very engaging and friendly. Attended to by Lauren who was so helpful and attentive. Both are great ambassadors for the restaurant. The food was superb and a big thank you to the kitchen brigade. Great selection at good prices. Will be back for sure.

Came in on our adventure in Edinburgh, had a very nice time. The drinks came promptly and the staff were professional and polite. Especially Rory (our server) and Hannah, who sorted out all of our issues.Had a very good time and are looking forward to come again.

We stopped here because we finished our walking tour of Edinburgh early and had to wait about 45 minutes for our bus to take us back to the cruise port. It's a good place to kill 30 minutes. The have pretty good gin and tonic options, and I don't even like gin.

We went for lunch and there was a special 2 for 1. We both had steak, nicely cooked and a good value price.All staff very nice, good clean place, would definitely return. We had previously been in the other restaurant in George Street but prefer this one.

Sentimos que podría haber habido un poco más de variedad para elegir en el menú, pero la comida era buena. Con respecto a las medidas de seguridad de Covid, sentimos que el personal estaba haciendo un esfuerzo consciente para limpiar las superficies con regularidad y guiar a los clientes a su mesa ayudó con el sistema de una vía. Would recommend to stay away from this place. The staff is very unprofessional and doesn’t care, customer service to the lowest level. The food, you can judge yourself from the picture as this was “arancini”. Really disappointed. Would rate them 0!!!

Vinimos para un brunch borracho y fue encantador. Realmente una buena relación calidad-precio y el personal fue servicial y disponible. Tim fue particularmente atento y amable. Lucky to take part in the eat out to help offer. Staff explained the ordering system and great drinks were able to be order from the app.

Initially very pleased with the way they dealt with seating us, explaining everything in a clear way to deal with the current procedures with the pandemic. Table was clean which was a relief considering that a few rival establishments are not cleaning up after guests which is worrying. Here is the bad part. Ordered my food and received it. Half way through my fries I found a opened salt sachet against the side wall of the container. This tells me that they are not cleaning there items after each guest. The salt sachet was dry so I assume it was not cleaned and just used straight after. Given the potential for contamination this was very very worrying to say the least and I left the premises somewhat concerned that my food had been contaminated with the leftover used packet from a previous guest who had obviously opened the salt sachet and left it in the fries container. Very sloppy to say the least. Not happy.

Service appalling. Attitude appalling. Information appalling. Food mediocre. Was made to feel like an inconvenience by the disinterested staff. Wouldn't eat here again if they paid me.

Visited with a group of 6 friends and got a cocktail, the glass was caked in a previous consumer's lipstick so I took it back to the bar, the guy just tipped the cocktail from the old glass into a new one and trusted it back to me... Not sure if the health and safety trainings have been completed as the the drink was already very much contaminated and should have been disposed of and made fresh. Paid for an expensive drink and left immediately without even sampling it, would never trust consuming anything from a place with such terribly low standards. At a time with the corona virus this kind of neglect to hygeine is shameful and disgusting and the premises shouldn't be allowed to operate, tables were sticky and unwiped, glasses left out for what had looked like hours judging by the dried up contents inside them, just a breeding ground for bacteria.If you like to live your life with a bit of risk go for it. Otherwise, find a better place as there are better ways to contract a disease.

Very busy ...we popped in looking for a table before we went to a show in theatre nearby..the staff were very helpful ..fitted us in...we ordered ..the food was served quick and very tasty..well with a visit if attending nearby cinema or theatre ..good value for money too

Extremely rude bar staff, looked for a clear table in the dining area as unable to find a clear table elsewhere as at least 7 tables stacked high with dirty glasses but was told off by staff member. Maybe they should try cleaning the tables more often instead of chatting. To top it all the glass I received my drink in was sticky, overall a complete disgrace.

Went in for for food and drinks before the theatre. Was told there were no tables available and no offer of waiting at the bar until a table was free. Approached another member of the staff to ask how long the wait was and was told to go away and that there was plenty other restaurants in the Omni to go to. What great advice as we went across the road to wetherspoons where the staff were much nicer and could get us a table and food! Will never go back even for a drink as the staff are so rude!

Booked in for 2 on a Sunday afternoon so was very quiet. Arrived and waited at the place where there was a sign to wait but a number of staff members walked passed so eventually had to approach them. Both ordered items including southern fried chicken which we were then told they had run out of so had the fish and chips which were below average. Definitely not fresh fish, hardly an chips and peas were hard so probably under cooked.Cocktails were lovely and lots of choice BUT the bar was disgusting covered with dirty glasses and saw the bartender pressing the crushed ice into our glass with his bare hands.No impressed

Arrived Saturday lunchtime, on the off chance, looking to see if any tables available. Walked past by several members of staff. The tattooed one who eventually acknowledged our presence could not have been more rude if she tried. Her manner was definitely not one which customers should be subjected to. Just awful.

Despite being booked, we had to wait at the bar until bartender finished making a handful of cocktails for other guests. His colleagues werent anywhere to be seen. Vegan platter - beautiful, well done for such a well varied starter. Main courses well sized - vegan burger & vegan curry.HOWEVER. we asked about the onion rings being veggie not vegan, and were told they were done in the same fryer as "either fish or chicken" - WHAT. this is no longer vegetarian, let alone vegan. Please train staff better and ensure the menu is as it actually is, concerned about kitchen practices after hearing this.thoroughly enjoyable visit however, just confused about information given

Came for a pre theatre lunch with a family group of 8 as it’s handy for the Playhouse. We booked ahead, the menu had a good selection for the kids/older people/vegans in our group. It was busy when we were in and I felt they could’ve done with a few more staff on, however the food was quickly prepared and very good. Everyone was happy. Prices were reasonable for Edinburgh. No complaints from us.

Visited today for an early dinner, had reserved a table as knew it would be busy as Lion King on at theatre. Tanzie was our server and was lovely, few things on menu not available but that was fine, place was mobed but we were not in a hurry, if you go to Omni when a show is on,.it will be busy,you may wait longer to be served but the staff do the best they can. We use Slug and Lettuce in Glasgow too and never had a bad meal.

We were told when we arrived that there were no tables available as the empty ones were reserved - we pushed back and asked if we could wait. Waitress said yes. We waited about 15 minutes and were eventually to our table. We had to flag down a waiter after a further 20 mins as no one came to take our drinks or food order. My friend and I had the burger - mine’s was quite dry and the chips were overcooked. The food came before our drinks. It was all just pretty shambolic really. The staff seemed to want to be invisible. Oh and all those ‘reserved tables’ the waitress told us about at the beginning stayed empty the whole night. The only good thing we’re the cocktails, which were great.

Went in for drinks and snacks before going to our Christmas show at the theatre next door. Took a long time to get served even though the bar wasn’t that busy. Once seated the food arrived and was ok.

I am a vegan for health reasons and anytime I tried to order anything labelled vegan from the menu I was told it was unavailable due to a lack of ingredients. I spent at least 10 minutes trying to order food as my waiter (who was very helpful) had to constantly run back and forth from the kitchen to tell me what I had ordered was not available. Eventually I was told the only vegan option that they had the ingredients for was the curry. Really unprofessional advertising food on the menu and not actually being able to provide it. If I had known that I only had one option I would have chosen somewhere else to eat. Please make sure you have sufficient stock so this doesn't happen again as it has put me off coming back.

Went in for dinner before theatre, chose this place as my wife has visited previously and had a great experience. Either it was a bad night or things have gone downhill, furniture wasn't clean, service was adequate and the food was a sub-par Witherspoon's type meal.

Visited here tonight hoping to get something to eat. We were told by the lady on the desk to take a seat anywhere on the right. Found a table and after waiting 10 minutes for someone to come and take a drink order we finally ordered our drinks. Another couple had sat down at the other end of the table by this time. When the lady from the desk came over and asked rudely if we were the party who had reserved the table,nobody had seen the reserved sign. On saying no she again rudely said we'd have to move, on asking her where to she again rudely said wherever there's seat, theres 2 at the bar, considering we wanted to have something to eat the bar wasn't going to be any use. The other couple left with myself and my husband following. Staff should remember that being rude to customers is not a good idea when working in the hospitality industry. Wont be going back and certainly will not recommend.

We can always know the standard that is delivered in this chain of restaurants. Friendly staff and good service. Comfortable surroundings.

Dans la galerie commerciale Omini, restaurant de chaine "World food" qui est correct sans plus; nous y avons bien mangé et ce n'est pas trop cher. Service efficace et rapide.

Went for a rare night out as a couple but the customer service is shocking to say the least, very uninterested staff and very rude, food was average cocktails very overpriced, wish I had read reviews before going as I see very little good reviews about this place, with so many other outlets in Edinburgh, I think this venue needs to retrain their staff, definitely won't be going back in a hurry

Planned to go in for a couple of cocktails during a recent night out. Only one person serving behind the bar two other staff walking about clearing tables. Bar man was surly and uninterested. Our cocktails were thrown together no garnish and no effort - they are not exactly cheap so would expect a bit more! Won't be hurrying back with so many other great bars in the city.

On arrival we had to hunt down a member of staff to be seated at our reserved table. No offer of drinks which is a bit unusual. Took a long time for our order to be taken and bearing in mind we had a 2 hour time slot, this isn't helpful. I ordered fish and chips but was told it wasn't available. I found that hard to believe. Maybe it was just too much work for a busy Saturday evening. I needed time to look at the menu again and finally got ordered. The food and drinks we had were fine, although small portions. Our plates were cleared away and we weren't offered a dessert menu or further drinks. Sat for A LONG time trying to catch a server's eye with no luck. Other tables around us were being asked if they wanted anything else. We got so angry, we decided to leave. Had to stop a server to ask for the bill and they didn't look too amused. Maybe they were surprised to see we were real people and not paper cut-outs sitting in the corner. They were lucky we paid at all. I'll never be back or to any of their other restaurants.

Llamé a tomar una copa, esperé 10 minutos para que me sirvieran, tuve que pedir que me sirvieran después de ver a otros servidos que se habían acercado al bar después de mí, fueron a sentarnos con nuestras bebidas, y de inmediato me echaron de la mesa para aquellos comer solo, no se hace sentir bienvenido en absoluto. No volveré a ir de nuevo.

Fui a almorzar un lunes después del cine. 50% de descuento en toda la comida el lunes y tanto los pasteles de pescado como la ensalada de pollo y tocino eran geniales.

Apparently understaffed,long waiting time for drink service and stuff is not polite. I wont visit this place ever again.

the waitress very well but the food very bad the Tesco salmon is bigger and looks better and the avocado salad is worth it just found in sad piece and the lettuce in poor condition

This place became our 'local when me and my friend spent the weekend in Edinburgh, the food was faultless but the floor was always sticky, friendly bar staff.

Really liked this place, clean, friendly and a great breakfast. Both me and my wife really enjoyed it. Would recommend anyone to pop in before starting their day wandering round Edinburgh to get some energy.

Popped in here for some lunch as Wetherspoons opposite was just too busy.. Whereas here wasn't and was soon to discover why.

Came with 5 friends recently, waited 25 mins for anyone to take our order, literally had to grab someone to take it. Drinks took even longer to arrive, I chose burger, it was literally sat on few bits of iceberg lettuce, and a wee side of fries, no salad garnish or anything, no relish, none of the trimmings you come to expect for the price, just not good value for money at all. Wont recommend or return.

Cocktails are great, always have the halloumi wrap if we are eating also which is very tasty. Can get extremely busy and hard to get a seat especially when somethings on at the playhouse

Came for first time with my friends after a cinema session pretty hungry. No one received us, I had to look for someone to give us a table. I thought was busy but apparently just the drinking area. Dinning area had only 4 tables.

Partner and I visited this place as it was my birthday. Nice lighting, very spacious. Good location. I ordered the cocktail tapas ( see pics ) and my other half had a pint of Punk IPA. To eat, I had the Halloumi and Chips, while he had the smoky beef burger and fries.

My partner and I had visited the Slug & Lettuce around 4pm on a Thursday night however, not one single member of staff was at the booth. We had to go to the bar where the 2 members of bar staff took at least 5 minutes to acknowledge our existence, they weren't serving anyone but just having a laugh between themselves. They eventually sat us down. There was probably another 3 or 4 couples already sitting down. I ordered the smothered chicken, when it came half an hour later, it was like dried out rubber and clearly had been sitting in the kitchen for a while. The peas were dried out and the chips were cold. Trying to cut the chicken was an absolute joke, I'd have been quicker sawing my foot off than cut through this crap! The chicken from McDonalds is tastier! On another note, my partner's burger was 'alright'...

Me the the wife had a lovely meal before going to the cinema. Quality of the food was excellent. Staff were polite and helpful.

Staff not welcoming, very inefficient, bar tender needed training. The food was of a very poor quality and the fish and chips I had ordered were inedible.not recommended

Came here for a second date, some how had a DJ, playing very loud rubbish music. Drinks were good, we had a few cocktails 50% off aswell on a Saturday wow. We ordered food, big standard but for the price didn't really expect better. I got bangers and mash and not being funny but you get better mash from the frozen section in Tesco. But the lovely date I was with and the cocktails made up for what was a bang average dinner.

Food was lovely! The service was miserable. Could not crack a smile! It was very hot outside so expected it to be cooler inside but was not air conditioned so made for an uncomfortable visit.

Pleasant venue, relaxed and tasteful decoration. Food tasty and a good range of items, clearly marked for me as a vegan. Only quibble would be no prices shown on menu for the beers, and a strange small glass supplied with the bottle.

I was in Edinburgh for a wedding and went here last Tuesday with family and friends for a light meal. Everyone else had cooked meals eg fish & chips but I decided to go 'healthy'. What a mistake. I suffered 5 days of illness from food poisoning!

Been here a few times and back today. Surprised at some of the comments! Very attentive staff, good food and well presented. Fish finger sandwich was lovely, others had fish and chips and smothered chicken no complaints at all!

Having travelled to Edinburgh for a show we had prebooked our table at this branch having never been to a Slug & Lettuce before. I wish we had gone to the Frankie & Bennys opposite.

On a Saturday night, when two places we went were fully booked and we were hungry, we walked down to the Omni. What can I say- a typical chain restaurant with generally bland formula food. Chicken tikka masala was okay, husband liked his burger. What I didn’t like so much was the Cosmopolitan cocktail that cost over nine pounds that was both small and apparently free of alcohol. If you go, order bottled beer that can’t be watered down. Music way too loud for conversation to start with and they turned it up mid way thru meal. Obviously a place for date night, if you are over forty you will be the oldest folks in the place. Competent service.

Sticky tables, dirty wine glasses still had lipstick on them ,very disappointed . Had the 50% off cocktails but didn't have much alcohol and tasted more like a alcohol free!! drink
