Delicious Roast meal at the Skiff for my husband’s birthday today! The melt in your mouth roast beef was accompanied by a fabulous selection of fresh vegetables, mash, roast and home cooked Yorkshire puds. All washed down with with a beautiful house red - or two!This gorgeous venue never fails to amaze quality with value for money and delightful customer service.All the very best to the Skiff for 2022.

The food was absolutely delicious it was all freshly cooked, the staff are an absolute credit to this pub they are so friendly and attentive absolute perfection

Found this place on Google and am I pleased I found it. very welcoming were the staff no tables when we first arrived but found us 1 . Sat and had a few pints watching the food come out ended up ordering food and within 15 minutes arrived at the table hot and plentiful (Kiev and turkey dinner)l would highly recommend and will return next time we are at the metro

Food was absolutely delicious I had steak pie which was beautiful my daughter had cheeseburger and both were beautiful the staff and service was amazing I would recommend 100%

The restaurant was welcoming, friendly staff and the food of an excellent standard. Huge portion sizes, and the quality of the food was very good, would definitely recommend going out your way to visit as its a bit of the beating track. Stayed at the Holiday Inn less than 50 metres away so would 100% recommend a visit when staying here.

Visited for evening meal with no booking as was local to hotel we were staying at. In entering it was very busy so were sceptical if we would get table however we did manage to get a table. Staff seemed reLly friendly. Drinks ordered and brought quickly. Menu has a huge selection, so much so we had trouble deciding what to get.We ordered one pizza, one lasange and a gralic bread. Food was brought very quickly. All food was really hot when served. The pizza was standard size as expected. The lasange came with chips and salad, the portion was huge. Both meals appeared freshly made on property and not prepacked. We were sat in the conservatory area which was fairly tightly packed so not a lot of room to move around. Other than that I cannot fault the place and if in the area again I would 100% go back.

Dear me…we arrived at 7pm as planned, a warm welcome and no complaints there, however I do think the dining tables etc could do with an upgrade. Drinks orders were taken in good time by friendly staff- no complaints. We all ordered our food, which was served at 8.30pm (one and a half hours to prepare basic food is terrible in my opinion). Three of us ordered veg pizza (obviously pre bought pizza base which was blackened by over cooking, topped with the addition of low quality, cheap ingredients). I ordered veg ravioli, and I’ll be amazed if this wasn’t bought in as it was no different from food you could buy in Aldi. For dessert, 2 ordered sticky toffee pudding, which was some sort of non-descript cake with a drizzle of toffee sauce topped with fairly unimpressive custard. The bill was cheap, but any more would have added insult to injury. Won’t be going back there, sorry.

First visit, great service and great food, cannot fault at all. Would highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back as we come down every year from Scotland for our Christmas shopping.

This is a really nice friendly pub with an excellent choice of meals including gluten free options. All the food is properly cooked as opposed to heated up and the final point to say is that they are reasonably priced.

A really good surprise. It was next door to our hotel so we went initially for a drink only to find it was also a wonderful Italian Restaurant. We had a really good meal from an extensive menu of both Italian and British dishes. Great service and very friendly staff. The Owner especially (Papa Joe) was really helpful and friendly. The quality of the food was very good and the bill was less than expected.Well worth a visit if you are in the area or shopping at the Metro Centre. Highly recommended.

The pub was busy and we hadn't booked, but they found us space. A good range of Gluten Free items too.

We had a very warm welcome and the staff were very friendly , our food was delicious and if we visit this area again we will definitely return.

The food was excellent and presented very well on the plate also pricewise was something you cannot grumble about. The staff are warm and friendly so makes the experience worthwhile.

Stayed at holiday inn next door.. so glad I went for a wander… bang on place.. the food was excellent and the service first class.. loads of selection and lots of choice in drinks. Superb

Been here years ago so decided to give it a try again while in the area.staff were friendly. I had the steak pie good portion size I couldn't finish it all.my husband had the roast beef again good size. Prices are reasonable. No room for desert. This is a pub so its not a fancy restaurant

Booked a table for a family food ordered the sea food linguine best I have ever had. Husband ordered the stake and could not believe the size of the plate he could not eat it all. Me and the daughter had some of his leftover chips which were fantastic. Daughter had ravioli really tasty. A hidden gem food fantastic and staff really friendly.

Had evening meal which was cooked to perfection and at a great price. Portion size huge so go hungry if you plan a visit.

Travelling for business most weeks and have kind of been fed up with ‘feed yourself’ somewhere during overnight stays. The usual places have opened back up admittedly, but I sure haven’t missed them. Bland over priced poorly cooked food and to top it off, pathetic choices of beer/ lager. What a treat this place was. Food was delicious. I asked if the mussels were fresh, which of course the reply was “yes of course”. I was dubious as they aren’t really on the same price level as other places. BUT, they were indeed fresh and delicious. The garlic mushroom starter was also wayyy better than expected, served on toasted ciabatta and cooked perfectly. The staff here are amazing, very attentive and friendly. (Never ever had a beer delivered to my table less than a minute after ordering)Absolute must place to visit, there aren’t many places that stick in my head. But this is one of them and will definitely be back when jn the area.

A little gem this place was it's tucked behind the KFC ...we went after seen it on google maps looking for something different than the usual weatherspoons etc We cannot after are visit recommend it enough ..The staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome in fact the whole place had a nice feel to it ..the food when it came out was laid out on your plate lovely and tasted even better . We will definitely give this place another visit 10/10

Called in without booking for a table for 4 and it was full. Staff managed to fit us in with only an hour wait. Had a few beers which were reasonably priced prior to eating. Once in we ordered starters garlic bread was the size of a dinner plate, muscles 450g with Tom and chilli sauce and bread was almost a main meal. Mains were mixed grill x 2, cheese tart and chicken Kiev no complaints across the board and very filling. No desserts were needed. Downside on checking bill there was a single dessert added that we had not ordered £5.50 told staff to keep as a tip. Staff really friendly and bubbly regularly came to our table to refresh drinks orders, nice atmosphere would recommend. The pub is right next to a holiday Inn express Hotel so would recommend booking if your planning a visit. Couple next to us raved about the mince meat and dumplings and it did look bloody good maybe next time

Visited twice within 3 days....same excellent service and staff ,great fresh food and value for money

3 grandchildren and me and my husband all had different meals 2 meals with squid tough and my meal seabass beautiful but had a hair on the plate had no apology it was a case of tough very disappointed won t be back.

Not the first visit, but definitely not the last either (already reserved for tomorrow). This is a great, unpretentious, reasonably priced, independent pub/restaurant. Staff are attentive and excellent (particularly Di, who merits a special mention.) The folk up here in the North East are always friendly and welcoming. The Skiff Inn takes this to the next level. Papa Joe remains a constant, watchful presence here and the staff lives up to expectations.

Fantastic family run restaurant. Wide ranging menu consisting of pub favourites and superb Italian food. Good prices. Excellent staff. My thanks go to Di who was rushed off her feet given the popularity of the place and was so attentive. Such a friendly place.

Ive reviewed this place before and the food is still as good.I have to say that the restaurant was busy, and although we got menus when we were shown to our table the couple next to us waited for at least 5 mins, then asked.Our meals were a bit slow in coming, but worth waiting for.He had mussels to start. Fat juicy mussels in the most gorgeous broth ( I dipped a piece of bread in, just to check)I had two slices of slow roast belly pork served with black pudding bon bons, and a huge wedge of crispy crackling. Gorgeous.For mains he had Thai green curry and rice, just the right amount of spicy heat, and tasty.I had a pizza. I dont normally outside of Italy, as they are usually poor, but I know there is an Italian influence here, so I risked it. Very nice pizza. I ordered Bolognese, and the topping was a lovely beefy sauce, topped with cheese. Very good.

Called in after a shopping trip to IKEA for much needed food and drinks. Busy but staff were so welcoming. We were informed on arrival that they may take a little longer to serve which was fine as they had been upfront about it. I can't have a regular sized meal and, as I often have to, I asked for a child's menu. What a menu! Not limited to the usual choices, this was filled with options such as minute steak, pizzas, pasta, steak and ale pie as well as traditional choices. I ordered the steak and ale pie which was served with chips and the freshest cauliflower, carrots, peas and broccoli. The meat was tender and full of flavour and the meal was tremendous. For £5.50! I couldn't eat it all but it was the best child's meal I have ever had nevermind one of the nicest bar meals. My friend had a succulent home made chicken Kiev which she said was also excellent. Can't wait to go back. We'll fine to this family team and their fantastic staff.

We have had another great meal at amazing prices and with great service. This no frills English pub is the real deal and well worth a visit.

Lovely place run by an Italian family recommended to us. It’s a pub restaurant with a good menu with plenty of Italian dishes - pasta and pizza - plus burgers and main meals. Tasty dessert menu. Food was nice, relaxed vibe and popular with locals. You could go in for just a drink or to eat. Good service, particularly the dark haired lady that served us. We were happy when we got the bill and it’s cheaper than the TGI nearby.

Decided to eat here as we were staying at the Holiday Inn Express which is next door. Food was excellent quality cooked exactly as asked, great service and reasonably priced. I had fillet steak and my wife lamb shank pie. Would thoroughly recommend and will eat here again

We arrived back at Holiday Inn Express which literally is right by this pub and it was a lovely sunny afternoon and quite hot for late September and we had been on the go all day at that point going around the castle and the museum and around newcastle and had had a late lunch before returning to our hotel and we thought, lets just have a cider in the sun outside. So we parked the car in hotel car park and just walked over to pub. We went to go inside and we said we just wanted to have a drink outside and they said ok just sit outside and we will send someone to take your order. She came outside and we asked what ciders did they have and they had a nice selection so we ordered one each and she gave us contact details to fill in for covid purposes and brought us our drinks and we paid contactless outside. So all good and she was wearing a face shield. It was lovely just sitting there in the sun having a relaxing cider and we said if we hadnt already eaten in town then we would of here as it looked really nice place but hadnt thought about it when in town.

Lovely meal, fantastic food and great staff! Really hope they don’t close the restaurants like this, they are going above and beyond with hygiene to keep customers safe!Food was piping hot, value for money and delicious. The fillet steak was cooked to perfection, my husband had the mixed grill and a fantastic selection on his plate. Pizzas were enormous! staff couldn’t be more friendly and really take the time to make sure you’re looked after properly. 100% recommend if you have t been before.

Wow, what an absolute gem of a find this was! Please pay them a visit if you haven't been before! My wife and I must have passed here hundreds of times.We were at MetroCentre and trying to find somewhere to eat that didn't have a massive queue due to Covid restrictions, we ended up here. I am so pleased we did, a truly fantastic authentic family run restaurant, with top quality freshly prepared Italian or traditional English food (and a wonderful children's menu, including real food, such as steak or steak and ale pie, not just beige food)! They also do proper pizzas.The staff provide a first class, friendly, personable service to boot!We will definitely come back and I really hope they make it through this difficult Covid period.

Good Food, Good Service at a very good price. We felt lucky to be staying close to such a decent pub/restaurant.

First visit since lockdown. Reduced menu. 30 minutes for starter, 20 minutes after for main. Only about 10 tables occupied. Ordered plain garlic bread to come with main, got cheese garlic bread 10 minutes after main came. Too much fat on steak, inedible. Used to love the place but won't be back anytime soon.

Why have I not been here before!! Amazing service and friendly staff. Very reasonably priced!! I will never ever buy another frozen chicken Kiev again!!! This was out of this world served with amazing chunky homemade chips and fresh crisp salad!!! We’re booked in again for this Tuesday for lunch and can’t wait to try the steak pie!!! Absolutely fantastic guys thank you so much!!!

Visited here for the first time in 30 years, no idea why i waited so long . staff friendly, especially the Gentle man that brought the food out(Italian i think),was given an extra pot of garlic to go with the best Chicken Kiev i have ever tasted , keep up the good work guys

Felt perfectly safe whilst dining at The Skiff due to all covid - 19 protocols being adhered to.Service was friendly and attentive, fillet steaks were cooked to perfect medium rare. Primitivio was very smooth and full bodied.All together excellent value for money, well worth the journey.

We remember The Skiff from when it was an old fashioned 'boozer'. What a change. Whilst the ambience is a little confused with modern lighting versus old photos of Newcastle area, old adverts with a French/Italian vibe, the atmosphere of the place is one of the nicest weve used.The staff are friendly, helpful and professional.I have to say the serving size is BIG.For starters I ordered Halloumi Fries. I got about half a pound. They were gorgeous. He asked for cheesy garlic bread, expecting a bit of French bread with garlic etc. He got a 12 inch pizza. equally gorgeous.To save room for our main course, we asked for a doggy bag. No problemOur main course was mince and dumplings. The mince and baked dumpling was served in its own bowl.Lovely light dumpling ad tasty mince and gravy. MIne was served with gorgeous buttery mash, he had chips. Very nice. The dish was served with nicely cooked carrots peas and cauliflower.All in all the best meal we had on this holiday

Booked a table to take advantage of the Eat out to help out scheme & the restaurant was very busy. However the service was quick & courteous & all of the food that we had got a big thumbs up! Generous portions & piping hot too. I will definitely be returning again. And the big bonus was that we got a discount on the bill too.

We called on the off chance of a table, we were very lucky and got one, the social distancing was very well observed, and all the staff were very polite and helpful, the food was freshly cooked and plentiful, I would certainly recommend this off our experience, we will be back.

We visited on Thurs night.. Ordered the smoked cheese bacon and mushroom burger I upgraded to sweet potato fries and we also ordered a garlic bread, for dessert I couldn't help myself and got the mango and passion fruit cheesecake.. Let's start with the garlic bread it was piping hot homemade and so nice we ate it all, which in hindsight maybe we shouldn't but was to nice to leave, we then got our burgers and OMG they were just outstanding, big hot moist in the middle plenty of cheese bacon and mushroom, my husband and myself said its the best burger we think we've ever had, the fries were piping hot and fresh and the side salad was nice crisp cold and super fresh, even the coleslaw was homemade, we really struggled to eat it all but there was no way we was leaving food that good, I had ordered the cheesecake so we got it to takeaway,, they even dressed up the takeaway box.. Didn't just put it in.. Had drizzle of yummy sauce all around it.. And when I finally ate it.. Omg it didn't disappoint,,, I highly recommend eating here u know we definitely will next time we're visiting Newcastle....

Visited here numerous times, so it was my first choice to visit for a meal when I ventured out of our covid hibernation. Food was still lovely quality, but portion size of mince and dumplings was just a fraction of pre covid size. Tables were not 2m apart, and as such the family of 6 next to us were stood over us as they went backward and forwards for smokes and kids. The waiters wearing the black cloth masks all wore them under their nose, and joe kept slipping his off to speak. Tables only received a cursory wipe between customers, and chair backs not wiped at all. Also, laminated menus in use. Didn’t feel safe. Therefore will not be returning until pandemic is over

Just come home from yet another 1st class Sunday lunch with the family . It is like home from home . Joe the owner and all his staff work tirelessly to make every one feel at home and go out of their way to make your visit pleasant . The food is superb plentiful and very good value you for money . Even the drinks are moderately priced . They are doing the very best they can during these difficult (Covid) times. We need to support our local restaurants . Keep up the good work . Been in for food. Hand sanitizer on entry and clear visible lines on ground to help with social distancing. Staff excellent with cleaning once table cleared and customers gone with safe distance when taking food and drinks orders. Papa Joe came and spoke to us but kept a safe distance, can’t believe the comment regarding papa Joe’s distancing!!! A lovely man running a lovely family run restaurant/pub. Felt very safe and will be back next week and every Week for my dinner as it was amazing as always prior to Covid-19.

Hi visited for lunch - no obvious hand sanitiser to use on entry. No names and contact numbers taken, staff didn’t wear masks or visors. There was no social distancing by some of the wait staff and a guy with a name badge on’papa Joe’ made no attempt to keep at arms length when serving. Won’t go back as felt unsafe. Food was fine.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn opposite after a long journey from Sussex. So being tired, decided to head across the road after reading the positive reviews. What a great decision! Staff fantastic, attentive but not overpowering and food was excellent. Seafood Linguine was delicious, my daughter had fish which was massive and wife and daughter had steak which they also said was very good. Huge potions and great value for money. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough.

Stepping in the the Skiff, you can't help but feel welcome. The staff are so family friendly.The food is the real reason why I come here. I had the muscles in coconut and chili and it was amazing. A basket of bread was delivered to the table to mop up the juice and my cider was cold and refreshing. My friend had a lamb burger and said it was also amazing. We had had a long day of wandering about alnwick but decided to drive to Gateshead for the welcome home cooking of the Skiff.We will be back soon for a good cabonara!

Went for Sunday lunch. Arrived just before 1:00 wanting a table for 4. Place was filled to the rafters. Advised there was about 20 minute wait to be seated. We happily ordered drinks at the bar whilst we waited. Plate after plate of fabulous looking lunches passed as we waited. The staff work extremely hard. Sure enough seated at the estimated time in the conservatory. After perusing the menu we opted for 2 lamb lunches and 2, 3 meat lunches (chicken, lamb & beef) with extra gravy and placed our order at the bar. Food arrived in a timely manner, piping hot . A big hearty plate of food, meat as tender as anything and not a morsels of fat to be seen, enormous Yorkshire Puds, mash & roasties with 2 sides of extra veg. We all thoroughly enjoyed it all, albeit we didn’t manage to clear our plates. £42 well spent and will definitely be back soon.

just had the biggest fish and chips ever beautifull batter lovely and crispy going back for sunday lunch well worth a visit 10 fifty for the fish and chips so big even i could not eat it all

Visited here with my wife and two children, the place was packed when we arrived which was a good sign but not overly rowdyWe were seated in about ten minutes and I had the mixed grill which was nice steak was a bit on the shy side and the peppercorn sauce was a bit weak.I followed it by the toffee crunch desert as the sticky toffee pudding had ran outIt was nice honest pub grub, 70 for us all to eat so a bit expensive for pub grub but nice and round go again

A few years since I’ve been in this restaurant and not much had changed. We had to wait around 10 minutes to be seated for our Sunday lunch, which was absolutely fine.The restaurant was packed out which is always a good sign of a certain level of quality. We weren’t disappointed, I went for the roast beef and my partner chose the roast chicken.We both had ample portions that were well cooked to our liking. A generous sized Yorkshire pudding accompanied our meal and the veg was plentiful. It certainly isn’t a five star restaurant but it certainly is value for money at £9.95 per lunch. Also a little favourite of mine is that you can pay for your meal at the start, hence, not waiting for the bill at the end.A special mention to the staff who were professional and friendly. A gentleman at the table adjacent to us was slightly disabled and was visiting from Carlisle. A member of staff identified this early on and arranged everything for him without being overly intrusive.We will certainly be returning!

Off the beaten track. Parking limited.Disabled access . No dogs allowed except working dogs. Very popular and was full but was seated quickly. Menu is varied from Sunday lunch to pizza and pasta. I got the roast beef it was so tender and was home made Yorkshire puddings. Was delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful. Place is spotless and is children friendly. They do take away service. Worth a visit.

The skiff inn does such a traditional home made dinner,the price is also very reasonable.For dessert I would recommend the chocolate fudge cake which is amazing.

We had two fabulous meals here while staying at the Holiday Inn this week . We ate here on the first night because it is so close but on the second night because we enjoyed the first meal so much . The food is exceptionally good , everything is piping hot and the portion sizes very generous . The staff are welcoming and attentive without being overly fussy . My husband enjoyed a couple of pints of cloudy cider and we shall certainly return the next time we stay in the area .

Always have a meal here when staying at Holiday Inn. First visited about 8 years ago. The Mushroom soup is to die for, but not always available as they do so many different ones. All are gorgeous, but the Mushroom,mmmmmm.

I visited on Tuesday, having been a frequent visitor for along time. The food was great but the manner in which I was dealt with was reminiscent of a holiday camp! I was dumped at a table, no asking what I would like to drink. Table service has always been a point I liked. No making me feel special I could have cued in Durham prison and got more personality! The food was fine, let down by the lack of personality of staff. Will I come again ? ?????

Having visited a couple of months ago I was impressed with the place, however this time I am totally unimpressed. Business not busy but enough to be cosy. Food order placed and arrived promptly but was incorrect as orders mince and dumplings with veg and mash came bag with chips but ate them anyway as hungry. Was asked if I wanted extra gravy and requested server sadly went away and I am still awaiting her return. Mince n dumplings tasty but not hot enough and chips were very bitty with scraps of over done potato. Partners mussels arrived promptly too but again were just above tepid. Usually served piping hot. When will we return, don’t know as so so disappointed. Condolences to the skiff on the loss of the server who sadly disappeared with my gravy.

I used to love it here but recently the food has been utter rubbish. It’s like the head chef Michael grey is more interested in getting drunk and screwing waitresses! Can’t wait til the other girl or girls realise he’s still sleeping with his missus and is just a big head liar who thinks he’s lush but is not. I definitely wouldn’t eat here or his other place unless you want a side of chlamydia with ya mince and dumps!..... The skiff inn can get in the bin!

Very busy bar restaurant, food is always freshly prepared and well cooked and presented. Very good menu choice and select of beers. Staff are always very welcoming and friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this restaurant, just very nice.

Father in law told us about this place so took us there for lunch today. Doesnt look much from outside to be honest but once inside i was pleasantly surprised. Very nice interior, albeit slightly dated, staff very pleasant, attentive and could not do enough for anyone. I had the hot beef sarnue which came with gravy and chips. It was delicious and all for £7.95. Defo worth a visit if u can find it !!

Good menu to suit all ages , a fairly limited wine list but inexpensive for its quality ,friendly and efficient service. Feels like a locals pub with some good real ales on.

We all had fish and chips which were nice and crispy and good portions. Staff were helpful and cheerful. A good place to go for lunch at reasonable prices.

Simply the best Sunday dinner, portions are massive I always take a small plate. We go every other week. All staff is very nice. You can not book it on Sunday so come early or after peak hours.

Another lovely visit to The Skiff. We were a family group arriving for lunch without a booking. We were well looked after and the food was very nice. Plenty of choice on the menu and reasonable prices. We have been before and will return again when we are in the area.

I went for lunch today with my family and I was extremely disappointed with my meal it was freezing cold I waited ages for it to arrive I also ordered 3 takeaway meal and my order was completely wrong and mixed up and the portion size was shocking for the price.

Came down from Glasgow to do our Christmas shop at nearby Metro Centre.

Dined here 2 nights when staying at the Holiday Inn Express across the road. Both times the food was good, plenty of choice and also 3 real ales on tap, a busy atmosphere with pleasant staff and good service. Decor a bit tired.

We love the Skiff for family gatherings because they have table service and the food is excellent. On Sundays you have to order at the counter and there are queues at peak times, and it's a pain having to do it again for dessert, but it's so worth it when the food arrives. The portions are huge and my mam isn't a big eater, so she orders a child's portion which is perfect. The staff are really friendly. Parking is limited so it's a good idea to get there early if you can.

Absolutely delicious, we arrived approximately 3pm and requested a table. The restaurant was very busy, server said about 20mins wait but we only waited 10 mins. Ordered at the bar which I think is very convenient as you don’t have to wait for a server. Ordered lamb Sunday lunch and it was served hot, and it was very tender. The best mashed potatoes I have ever had in a restaurant. Will be definitely visiting again. Thank you . Well worth a visit

We were staying at the nearby Travelodge and, this is our second visit th The Skiff Inn.

Restaurant was busier then I have seen. But the menu never changes. Good wholesome food, but very slow service. We were 3 hours & by the time we left, the restaurant was getting cold. We will probably,be back as my neighbours like going there, but I wouldn’t hurry back. Sorry

Came here for tea one night and it did not disappoint, it never does. I had the lasagne and it was beautiful it also came with chips and salad. Service was quick and efficient. Will definitely be returning.

Unbelievable Sunday dinner, went for the trio. All meats lovely and succulent. Veg, gravy and puddings are all great. 👌🏽 Best dinner I’ve had in a long long time.

A celebratory meal with family. An absolute disaster. The food was rancid and terribly overpriced. Off the specials menu the duck spring rolls were absolutely inedible. There is no point in complaining to the abrupt staff in a restaurant that stinks of fried food. We will never be dragged back unless it’s kicking and screaming

This is a gem hidden behind a generic eatery, but make the effort to find it, you won’t be disappointed. Fabulous home cooked food reasonably priced. Generous portions. And drinks that don’t break the bank. Salted caramel cheesecake is to die for. Best I’ve ever had. After spending the day shopping at the metro centre pop in to charge your batteries. The masses cannot be wrong. Always busy. We will carry on returning for more. Never had a bad meal yet.

Came here with my sister on a Thursday night for tea, was seated straightaway, drinks brought to our table and the service was very quick! The girls were all lovely and the food was 10/10! I ordered the mince and dumplings which was fresh and piping hot when it came, very very generous portions and got asked whether I wanted potatoes or chips with it which I thought it was nice to have the option. I’ll definitely be returning! :)

Stayed at the Hoiday Inn just across the road and after reading trip advisor reviews decided to try....wasn't disappointed.

19 of us, ladies 65+ went for a meal,The Skiff Inn,24th September 2019 Tuesday evening, we were celebrating two birthdays, the meals were hot and fresh , and we all ate together,the staff could not have been more helpful, we were very noisy coming in together,The waitress took our orders swift and quickly, don't know how she did it we were making so much noise.we will be back, Thinking of going there for our Christmas night out,Well recommended

Wow good is amazing! Got mushroom soup and lamb dinner! Lamb was massive and melted in your mouth! Excellent food and desserts are lovely! Good service and great menu choice

We have been meaning to try here for a considerable time but always ended elsewhere.However came on sat nite we were sitted upon entering and given menus.Ordered drks the menu is extensive but after 5 mins decided upon pate and Thai fish cakes followed by Duck wrap and a T-Bone.The Thai fish cakes were tremendous .Next up mains the size of the portion of Duck Wraps left my wife unable to finish hers (dog enjoyed leftovers)My T Bone was cooked as requested and I decided that the salad was just too much to eat but all the trimmings and steak were eaten.The portions were large so we were unable to try desserts but next time.Def come back and try Mussels.The pub has a good ambiance and for a sat nite no trouble getting table all the waiting staff were attentive.
