Order and dispisafied what I wanted In My order which got it wrong ruined my evening after after they delivered again had to pay delivery and sauce again I'll never order from the silk Chinese again there understandings of English is poor and pathetic period.

Great food , pleasant staff and fast service

Supposed to be open to 11.30 as stated on the website ...I rushed to get thereat 11.10 they told me they were closed and wouldn't take mt order

Got a curry half & half with fried rice out of The Silk tonight, must say was top notch!

I ordered tonight, I found the lady on the phone quite rood and not welcoming, food took a bit longer than the lady on the phone said it would to arrive when I got the food it was quite poor, the char sui chow mein tasted horrible, it just didn't taste like the classic chow mein that you are expecting it was pretty much just a box of brown water with lots of vegetables and a tiny bit of noodles and a few pieces of pork, the char sui pork had no char sui flavour to it, you are not given full pieces of it, the flavour is on the rim of the pork and they are cutting the pork up in to tiny pieces with no flavour. The sauce the chow mein was in just looked and tasted like dishwater, the noodles had no flavour to them. They were going to try and charge a pound extra for brocoli. I think I might stick with Harmony and Modern China. I didn't include a very good picture but it kind of shows you how much of this chow mein was liquid.

Used to be one of the best Chinese take-always but food tonight was terrible. Peking Chicken - chicken was rubbery with batter tasting jelly/fatty like with sauce inedible, tasted of vinegar. Chicken in black bean was watery and had no flavour. Ribs were ok. Phoned to give feedback due to disappointment. Was put on hold initially & then another person came on. They told me chef had retired and new staff now in. Explained our thoughts on food in particular the peking chicken which nobody could eat. Was told new chefs perhaps cook differently. I again said that the meal tasted of vinegar and that I was surprised by her attitude to my feedback. She asked what did I mean and then stated that they had new chefs and we would just have to get used to it. This reply somewhat surprised me. Told her I wouldn’t get used to it as I’ll not be back and would not recommend to others. Reply was that they’ve had no other complaints implying it was our problem. Very rude with no customer service skills.

We ordered a take away as we have always enjoyed the food from this restaurant. However tonight it wasn't up to usual standards. To be fair I had bbq pork ribs which were very good as I expected. The two mains were very poor. The Peking chicken tasted really strongly of vinegar and the batter was jelly like and had a fatty texture. Then the chicken and black bean was very watery and tasteless. Very disappointing. So my wife rang to provide some feedback. We didn't want a refund or replacement, just to let them know of drop in standards. A girl answered and listened to our concerns then passed us on to a lady who I presume was more senior. She listened, then said the previous Chef had retired and cooking methods may have changed and - quote- we would have to get used to it. I must say this took us by surprise and we couldn't quite believe what we were hearing. The lady said they had no other complaints but that is not true when looking at recent reviews. So my wife just said if that was the case we would not be ordering from the Silk again. And wouldn't recommend to anyone. A shame as had been a first class restaurant and takeaway. But unfortunately this is no longer the case.

Got a carryout last night from the Silk it was not very enjoyable I have to say. Got chicken wings which where nice and ordered squid which I thought would be in the form of squid rings but it was coated in a batter which seemed to have chopped pieces mixed in with the batter. Not very pleasant to eat suffice to say they ended in the food waste bin. Also spare ribs with practically no meat on them and what little there was it was tough. The prawn curry was nice but the battered sweet and sour chicken had more batter than chicken. Very disappointed in the food l always looked forward to a meal from The Silk but I am sorry to say I don't think I will be back.

Cheap rubbery frozen meat. Shouted at to pay cash no card.

Have been coming here for years, absolutely fantastic. Never lets down. Schezuan chicken is always slapping. Love the silk.

Worst Chinese meal ever, I ordered sweet and sour chicken, the texture left a lot to be desired it was like rubber, their noodles were chopped so small and tasteless not even any onion with them, the whole meal was uneatable. Took what was left back to the restaurant and because the full meal wasn’t returned (in the bin) they would not give me a full refund. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant, avoid at all cost.

Used to be the best Chinese takeaway in Belfast. It has gone downhill significantly recently. Prices have gone up (inevitable I suppose) but quality has also deteriorated - chicken is getting chewier and I recently had gristle in a duck Spring Roll. Portions are definitely smaller - used to be be that you could get near enough two portions from a single meal but no more. They are using the same sized containers - they used to be filled to the brim - now there is a fair bit of space left. And yet they are busier than ever.

Unfortunately the chicken in my takeaway chicken curry was not satisfactory..some bits tough and some bits like total jelly! Extremely busy every Saturday night and under pressure, so lots of orders sitting for collection etc My salted chilli chips are never crispy enough (every order recently) and are usually extremely soggy by the time I get home, also due to the sweat from the polystyrene container. Staff try their best but I won’t be returning any time soon!

Been a returning customer week after week for years, best Chinese takeaway without doubt, I have traveled northern Ireland extensively with work and the silk is always my benchmark for quality, flavor, ingredients and value. 100% first class

got Chicken fried Rice tonight 26th Feb 2023, bone and cartilage in it . Unreal poor quality. Dont get food from here

Best Chinese in the country and i have been to a lot! nothing beats the curry at the silk the salted chilli chicken is unreal as well😋been going to the silk now for years and it’s always my first choice over any chinese in Northern Ireland❤️

Friendly service. I used them when I am on the way home from working late. Cash only if under a £10 no problem at all.

Great take away I have been going here for years. The food is great and the staff are friendly. One bit of feedback - with how much they charge they should really provide complimentary crackers with their orders - most Asians do this and it is much appreciated.

Order arrived in 12 mins. Chips and salt and. Chilli chicken Rock hard , the rice was the only thing wasn't binned. Really bad customer service also. Won't be back

Chicken supper for one. Made mistake of taking recommendation from this platform! Strange chicken slices texture, rubbery and no chew. Skinny dry chips and peas. Smallest amount if gravy coating and no flavour in any of it. Couldn’t eat it after two bites. Phoned the manager, Megan, making it clear I was providing feedback and had no intention of getting either replacement or money back.. Told her the takeaway was the worst I’d ever tasted and she told me she’s busy and to go online to review, terminating the call abruptly. S much for concern about standards and customer care.

Ordered a meal at 5.35pm for collection. I was told approximately 15 mins. Arrived at The Silk at 5.45pm. Customers coming in and out ordering various meals. I eventually got my order at 6.20pm. When I complained they told me they give me an estimate time that dinner would be ready in 15 mins. Having to wait 45 mins for fried rice with gravy is unacceptable. Apparently it is quicker to cook stir fry’s that’s why customers were able to order and leave before me?? Really disappointed in their customer care. I appreciate they may be busy on a Friday night but 45 mins really??

Nice and clean, food is good. There is a minimum of £10 to pay by card 🙄 do not see why!!

Brilliant...lost my dog last week and pretty sure I eat him tonight! This restaurant is suspiciously closed to vets for tasty meat...Mum yum

Got a takeaway tonight. So delicious and fresh and lovely staff. Food was ready for collection on time. I would recommend their spring rolls and Peking chicken is yummy also. Decent prices also

The food is good, especially the pork and duck dishes, however if they are going to claim to be open until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays then "Sorry we don't deliver now" at 0015 isn't the best, their delivery hours have ended even earlier (before 2300) the day before bank holidays. I personally feel that their food contains too much meat and not enough veg (however if you like lots of meat and next to no veg this may be a positive for you as the meat is often cooked well) and their sauce is always a bit too sweet but but both of these things are subjective however their fried rice is very oily and isn't the best, but you can't win them all. Their delivery staff get the job done in a polite manner and they deliver hot food quickly. As well as that the phone staff are good and give out a time estimate and total price with every order which is good as some places have told me "the final price is up to the delivery driver", again personal preference but I prefer a fixed delivery price even if I live next door or am at the very edge of their delivery area, it keeps things fair for all customers. I'm not expecting Michelin star cooking or amazing service I just feel that their style of food doesn't suit me personally, however it is by no means a bad takeaway and you definitely get value for money, especially if you are trying to feed two (or more) people with a single dish and side (and maybe a starter) previously they had said they didn't deliver an hour or so before closing which I didn't appreciate, but they seem to have changed that now in my past 2 recent orders.

Food is great 90% of the time. At peak times can be a bit worse, but probably still the best Chinese I've been to.

This takeaway served great food and does a roaring trade however customers can't pay by card unless the payment is more than £10. This is not good customer service, especially as there are no ATMs nearby. It is also embarrassing when you are faced with this at the top of a long queue! I'm very reluctant to return.

One of the best Chinese takeouts I've had in a long time. Great portion sizes and fantastic flavour and quality. Haven't seen onion rings as big and as good as these since living in Texas. The Szechuan chicken was perfect and worth a mention on its own.

I can't remember NOT eating from this place! Ever since I was little I have been having a Chinese every Friday night. Great food.

I have used the Silk for at least 10 years now and without doubt have told everyone that this was the best! However the last few months the standard has droooed dramatically food quality is now sub standard from the chicken to the tough beef they are now serving ..its a real shame but clearly they are cutting corners or have changed chefs also you cannot use your card unless it’s for £10 this place are losing business hand over fist and before long they will be in trouble which is a great shame

Didn't get my order right. Ordered battered mushroom but ended up being mushrooms in gravy.

Very nice place. Had salted chili chips and chicken and black bean. Quality was very good. Shares ingredients with the Golden Elephant next door so food is very good. Would definitely recommend if in the area. Prawn crackers were nice and light as well.

Got lemon chicken. The batter was burnt & I found hair in my food. Would not get out of here again.

Small portions, which are over priced. I bought a noodle dish which was served with dry, uncooked noodles. Had to be taken back.
