The Shimla Brasserie in Thanet

Tried Simla for the first time this evening. Will now be my go to takeaway. Tasty, piping hot food and on time. Dhansak was the best I've had in a long time.

Food was an hour late, I chased it up 3 times and 2 starters were missing

Food and service absolutely abysmal. Food arrived an hour late, was cold and tasteless. Korma watery, chicken was chewy, the plain bread had more taste than anything else. Extremely disappointed. Would not order from here again.

Great food great service can't fault anything will be ordering again.

words can't even describe how utterly stupendous the meal i received was, simla brasserie have time after time proved that they are the greatest curry based eat in/take out spot in kent if not England, cooked with passion, and delivered with care, sometimes i have to order and eat my simla in the garden because my partner gets quite aggressive about the frequency of which i order, the quality of the food more than makes up for the bruises, simla warms my insides in mkfd than one way. order now.

Food was excellent and great value. Onion Bhajis really tasty and two good pieces of tandoori chicken. Main curry of Lamb Bhuna and both Vege sides were again really enjoyable. Delivery a little late but Saturday evening so no issues.

The order was over an hour late and we would have cancelled but did not have the option to cancel and when the food arrived it was not hot enough very disappointed

hi everybody the onion bhajis were lovely maybe a bit my sauce with them.the meal was all good and hot.so it was all good and tasty as well.

Delivery was 20 minutes later than expected but the restaurant did apologise and gave us a free side, the food arrived piping hot and tasted delicious, will order again

Over an hour and a half later and had asked for fresh chillies, for an Indian restaurant… very disappointed… I wanted a tad bit more hotter,,, so thank you but no thanks

Exceptional food. Delivered well packaged and hot. Very impressed

ordered at 18.24, said it would be delivered between 19.25 and 19.45 but it didn't arrive until 20.45. phoned restuarant at 19.50 and was told it would be 20 minutes, 55 minutes later our food finally arrived! Awful service. poppadoms were also stale.

Great food but late and lukewarm. They called to apologise and gave freebies.

That was an absolutely delicious meal. Piping hot, fresh and flavourful. I haven’t had a take away that good for a very long time. The chicken was cooked to perfection, the sauces were great too. Perfection!

Ordered food from here last night after hearing high praises, I can confirm this place is deserving of their praises, throughly enjoyed by all family, perfect treat before Christmas, food was so good the family now wants it again for Christmas dinner, see you again on Christmas Eve! Shame the restaurant is unavailable for dine in, hopefully you will open up again in the new year! 5*

Great tasting food delivered on time

Food was delivered on time and piping hot . All containers were clearly marked so no confusion and food was delicious.

I ordered at 17.23 for delivery at 18:45 which is 82 minutes ahead of time. Then was advised the food would be half an hour late, and then the order was incomplete on arrival. Shame, as normally they are very good.

Late and forgot an item from our order.

This is our favourite place for curry but it wasn’t as good as usual tonight (Tuesday). Oddly, the chicken rezala had minced beef in it - not stated on the menu and therefore a surprise. The chicken in both dishes (jalfrezi and rezala) also not the usual quality. Maybe a different kitchen team on other nights we’ve ordered.

Cooked to perfection. Quality produce. Spice blends and flavours incredibly authentic. One of the best curries I've had and that includes those in India. Keep it up.. Only down side... There is no restaurant anymore.

Not happy!! Missing food and no answer from the restaurant!!

2 items missing, arrived 2 hours after ordering, luke warm. Nobody answering the phone when I tried to ring the restaurant, very disappointing when we've had such lovely food before. Do I get a refund for missing items??

So late we had to collect ourselves, and still had to pay the delivery charge

This was the best Indian food I have had, possibly ever. Utterly wonderful food!

Not the usual standard tonight was disappointing , had a very long wait and meal wasn’t very warm and curry very watery!

Order accepted at 5.20pm Food was scheduled to be delivered between 6.15 and 6.35. So quite a long time anyway. Called restaurant at 6.36. Food didn't arrive till 7.01pm Very very slow by any standards.

Had high hopes for here, sadly what we received weren’t great .. the garlic Naan bread was slightly burnt, could smell it also , so they were hard , the 3 kormas we had were very grainy , other food was ok. Sadly it feels like a lot of money wasted tonight on this .

Food was fabulous but the driver got lost. I phoned the restaurant and it was sorted out and the food was piping hot upon delivery.

A little bit late, but food was still hot and tastes great. Onion bajhis were brilliant and massive!

Unfortunately I had items substituted as the restaurant ran out of chickpeas, but my family loved the Simla biryani. Fabulous as usual!

The food arrived almost 1 hour late… it was also cold .. and bland .. if this was eat in .. I would refuse to pay… and in truth… I would like a refund … shocking service …

After placing the order the expected delivery time increased by half an hour, the restaurant were then 15 mins later than this. This restaurant has delivered late the last 3 times we have ordered from them.

Cold no flavour worse one I’ve had for a while

We were given 1915-1935 as our delivery slot. Nothing. Phoned Simla at 0740 to be told they were having trouble keeping up and it would be another 20 minutes. We paid £1.50 for delivery and £0.50 for service which is a joke really when you don't get what you've paid for. If we could find a good Indian around here we wouldn't use them again.

Had a takeaway last week from here and it was fabulous. We chose to pick up and had a vegetarian dupiaza, Chicken vindaloo with Chicken tikka & Onion bhaji to start. All hot, fresh and tasty. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely food! We had all veg dishes, they were all hot, flavourful and delicious. Will definitely come back.
