Good pub, food OK, booze OK, glad it's back open. Often buy a take away and pick up after a few pints.

Let’s start with the positives; the staff were very friendly, attentive and welcoming. The building itself was dated and in need of modernisation and a good clean (sticky carpets, dirty bathroom with hand driers not working), but overall the atmosphere was fine. We went for the buffet and it was clearly popular. There was very limited choice for vegetarians, with there being 1 vegetable dish only which the vegetarians in our group didn’t like. Some of the food was cold and dry, giving the impression it had been left under the hot plates for some time. There were lots of empty trays which took along time to be filled up. It was only after we had left that we thought to check the food hygiene rating, which was a 1. Needless to say we wouldn’t recommend or be returning.

We used to love this restaurant. We were sadly disappointed. Our first visit for a few years. Food quality has gone down hill. Most very dry. Prawn toast only tasted of batter. Decor hasn’t changed since it opened. With ripped curtains. Deserts were very limited. The Choc cake had a strange texture & wasn’t edible. The deserts used to be lovely. Such a shame. Won’t be returning

It's ok, nice enough views, drink OK reasonably choice. Takeaway menu OK good selection. Can be to quiet but so what. Staff pleasant I use it regularly and will continue to do so.

10 of us went to celebrate our friends birthday and we all absolutely loved it..The food was really good in fact it was the best Chinese food I've had in a long time .The manager and staff where very kind and friendly and nothing was to much trouble..The manager was very kind and stuck a stuck a candle in one of their cakes so we could sing happy birthday to our friend as we had forgot to bring a cake .....We all said we would definitely go back.. many thanks to all the staff for being so kind..

Food not great, first pints were funky, staff miserable and unhelpful and then we discovered the reason for the 3/5 hygiene rating when we left…

Food was good but its a shame they don t let you take out what you Don t eat as you have paid for it, its already on your plate their only going to be throwing it away later. Also why is the minimum payment on buying drinks £10 so if you go on your own you would have to buy 4 drinks just to quench your thirst. I know about card machines we have one it doesn t cost that much these days to use them.

Came up with a gang of friends from work - 14 in total! Wouldn’t hesitate to return with family or friends! A great selection of Chinese buffet food, and nobody rushing you out - so you enjoyed it twice as much as you weren’t rushing! Reasonably priced drinks, and fabulous staff! “Thank you all! I will definitely be back with my family”

Absolutely fabulous spread put on for refreshments after a family funeral, plenty of food, very reasonable price, good quality, good choice, staff were attentive. Faultless.

Absolutely love coming here- buffet is great, reasonably priced, service is quick, you can dress up or go in work wear and it never changes. Hadn't been during the pandemic and it was just the same, so very pleased. My only suggestion is to have slightly better quality ice cream - this would make it perfect, any other desert is too heavy after a buffet.

So, not been here for several years, as we moved away from the area. We also wasn’t to keen on the buffet. Came here tonight with low expectations after seeing the reviews on Tripadvisor. Totally surprised. I had chicken satay to start which was lovely and then the sizzling steak Cantonese style with Yeoung Chow fried rice. Totally, utterly, lovely. We normally go to Tops in Llandudno and never thought we would ever find anywhere to match it. Choi’s surpasses it. It’s a shame the restaurant was empty apart from us. Please give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed. Husband had hot and sour soup and Teryiaki sizzling steak. Friend had teriyaki steak and chicken and sweet corn soup. All was lovely. View was stunning. Just needs to update the decor. To sum up, lovely meal and will be returning.

Im not sure how to say this but, the place is not clean. Tables were sticky during Covid 19 its really surprising to not clean the premises, the floor was dirty and full pf food. . The food came in under 5 minutes of being ordered, the coffee tasted horrible, in fact it tasted like packet coffees from hotels :( the food was awful and pipping hot from being microwaved. This place is just a mess. Waste of money!!!!!!

Disappointing is the only way I can describe this place,waited for way to long for our order to be taken,I had chicken & cashew nuts, the chicken was processed chicken pieces like you get in the freezer in iceland, a very small portion & not much sauce. My partner had a prawn dish, very little prawns, not much sauce & the egg fried rice we enquired about as it seemed to be just fried rice, the waitress pointed out a minuscule piece of egg & said "that is egg fried rice" shame, it could be great but no love or care in anything they do.

Had a great meal with the family but suffered some insulting comments from a guy sitting in a circle of people by the front entrance throwing abuse at two ladies and myself when departing. We wondered why it was so quite in there but it’s completely obvious now. If he wasn’t there the place would have been a five star rating but due to the insults I’m afraid it’s dropped right down to two stars. What a shame that they have him in there to do such a pointless task which does nothing for the business and degrades the group of people he was sitting with. We all pity him even my nephew who is a child much more mature than him, one day he’ll grow up but until or unless he does then unfortunately the business will inevitably suffer during such unprecedented times!

We had a delicious meal here , the buffet was flavoursome , fresh , and really tasty . We will defiantly be returning . Thank you 🙏🏼

We booked a table for two on a Friday night and what an enjoyment it was their was an excellent choI've of well cooked Asian food, also the atmosphere was relaxing and no rush to get you out when we'd finished dining.

We went here with friends in December it is a lovely place with friendly staff , always filled the food up when empty, it is a bit on the expensive side £16-90 per person all you can eat but we will return for a special occasion

Booked the day before and arrived just after 6.00pm when they opened. The bar area of the restaurant was buzzing with locals which gave it a good atmosphere. We were shown straight to our table. Our dinks order was taken and we we told we could go ahead straight away and help ourselves to the Chinese Buffet. So not waiting around for your food to arrive. There is a great selection of food available to suit everyone’s taste. It is piping hot and replenished and looked after regularly by the waiting on staff. You can go back as many times as you want plus there is also a small selection of deserts. Didn’t see any chips there though which would be a good addition. Also a good addition would be an indication of how spicy the food is for example by using the 3 chilli’s As I am not fond of spicy food and it would save people wasting it. The price is £15.99 which is very reasonable even if you are not a big eater, but exceptional value if you have a big appetite. Decor in the restaurant is tired and I don’t think has changed in years, however it is clean and tidy. It was dark when we arrived, but I know from previous visits that the views from this restaurant are stunning. You can literally see for miles across the beautiful North Wales coast. We don’t often do “Chinese” but I am positive we will be returning here soon. Well worth a visit.

Came here with friends , all really enjoyed the experience great location lovely choice in the buffet highly recommend , will definitely visit again . Keep up the great work.

Visited with some family and we all had the all you can eat buffet meal.The food was gorgeous & there was loads of it, with fresh top ups often.The staff were friendly & pleasant though a little young and shy.Service & over all cleanliness was very good. Thank you, we will be back very soon!

I used to come here a lot a couple years ago so today was the first time in a while and it’s still just as tasty as I remember good choice of food and all tastes spot on!! All you can eat Chinese buffet as-well as all you can eat desserts. All staff are lovely and helpful, good range of drinks too definitely recommend!!

4 of us opted for the eat what you like buffet and have to say it is more than value for money. As many starters and mains as you like and even sweets if you are able to squeeze one in.I would rate the standard of food as on a par as a reasonable takeaway but for the choice and for the number of diners present it cannot be faulted.The service is excellent and the staff attentive without being imposing and are on hand to remove used plates and dishes as you eat your way through the many different options.Will certainly visit again especially as my partner prefers to pick at nibbles etc rather than eat a full plate so being able to go as many times as she wants for starters is excellent.

Simple, good Chinese food. Have been many time and never disappointed. Hidden gem that I’d like to keep to myself please

Hadn’t been hear for a while and had forgotten how good the all you can eat buffet was. Went with several friends last Sunday and we were more than happy with both the quality and variety of food on offer, everything freshly cooked and excellent quality. Couldn’t fault anything from starters to mains through to deserts. Won’t make the mistake of leaving it too long for our next visit!

I must say that considering today is mothering Sunday the fact this place was empty is confusing. We were recommended this restaurant last year and have enjoyed several meals here. The restaurant is dated but if you get a window table then wow. The sea and coast line views are breathtaking. The food was buffet style and there was a small variety available. Everything is stunning. Today there was Chicken and sweetcorn soup, ribs, prawn toast, seaweed, duck and pancakes, chicken wings, chow mein, roast pork, several chicken and beef meals. All stunning. The choice of deserts is great too as there was a variety of fritters, cake, trifle, jelly and ice creams available. The whole family loved it. It is fantastic food in a lovely location that deserved to be busy today.

We have eaten here about six times now and the food and welcome is constantly good with plenty of dishes to choose from.

Visited a few times recently with the boyfriend on occasion and with friends. Always amazing, welcoming, good service and well worth the drive.

We visit the semaphore often. The is a good range of Chinese food, always hot and constantly getting filled up on the buffet. The views are fantastic in the summer, can feel a little cold in the winter.

Good food. Eat well on Sunday buffet. Always freshly topped up hot food. A wide choice of meals. Great Chinese food and bar. Plenty of space for parking.

Strange set up through the Old Miner's Pub, Had booked when we arrived we asked could we sit in the window told no it was taken, no-body came while we ate, If you have a large appetite this is the place for you all you can eat, Seaweed was fab,Staff over zealous you're plate was wiped away as soon as you took you're last bite , I think they were told to keep and look busy,.when went to pay the bill extra was added on for the fruit salad didn't see any notice saying it was extra, think it has changed hand's recently so they need to sort a few thing's out

Very good value for money. Nice choice of food. love the seaweed. Staff really helpful and friendly. Went on Saturday night 8.00pm. Was quite busy glad we had booked. Would go again. Lovely views of the sea.

We arrived here on a Saturday afternoon driving from Llandudno where everything was packed. Nice weather, few people chilling outside. Inside, there were few elderly people tucking food in plastic boxes out of the hot buffet. Interesting. Although there wasn't anyone sitting in the restaurant and none of the tables had ''reserved'' on it, we were shown where to sit. The menu stated £14.80 per head for the buffet. Usually this kind of place has a buffet and then a main menu is cooked to order. Not in here. After getting two small plates of Iceland bits and bobs (chicken balls and samosas) one guy came to clear our table saying ''Have you finished?Good''.Very dissapointing. As well as the choice of sweets which consists of chopped fruits (not a fruit salad) and some jelly in a glass. I had another dissapointment to find out at the till that they charge extra for everything because it's Saturday(???) Anyway, the bill for 2 came up to £38. We paid £38 for two pints of Pepsi and less than half of a Chinese takeaway menu (Which costs £5 on my street).

Have been coming here for years with my partner, and more recently with friends, and the food is always amazing and the service great. However, I was surprised to find that they are also open in the day time, and although no buffet the food was just as good, and a bargain lunch deal for £7.99. Would and have recommended, and having been with my parter, mother and friends, they are all as impressed as I am.

A really good choice of food, ideal to be able to sample the various dishes, definitely a good deal, will definitely go again, the only criticism was poor desert choice

All you can eat Chinese buffet, as far as I could tell this was the only one for miles around. The food was good, nothing special, but perfectly enjoyable as far as Chinese buffets go. The restaurant itself is in the back of a pub which is a little different but it doesn't take anything away from the restaurant, in fact it gives it a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Family favourite. Range of food. Consistent choice. Nice buffet. Love the puddings :-) Chinese food. Sweet and sour, chow mien, ribs, egg fried rice - the usual options

The staff are welcoming and the service is second to none. The food is excellent, a wide range, good variety and very good value for money. There is a pleasant relaxed atmosphere, all in all a great evening out whether you're just relaxing or celebrating with family and friends - everyone's taste is catered for.

Big variety decent food, worth a visit if your in the area and you want to stuff your face with oriental cuisine

I was advised to try this restaurant and to try the buffet. I have tried several similar Chinese buffet in recent years and this was ok but nothing special. While the concept is good this was a average effort.

Came here with the wife and was greated well. The buffet was great and food was good although could have done with a choice of boiled rice and maybe a few chips. The place however was very clean and the staff where helpful. I will be going back as we both enjoyed it

Me and my family came here for a birthday meal for my sister including her 1 year old child and 4 month old baby. Upon reading awful reviews we thought we would give it a go as you can't believe everything you hear. Unfortunately we wish we would have listened to the reviews. Food was ok however everything was mostly luke warm. We had given the baby some small bits off the buffet like a couple of cupcakes, some soup and 2 small scoops of ice cream which she didn't eat much of ( we ate the rest) considering we were paying £15 per person, not including the drinks, we had thought this was going to be fine as we have been to numerous of Chinese buffets which haven't charged for a 1 year old child in Llandudno and even in Chester. We don't expect for meals to be free but we certainly don't expect to be charged £3 for the small amount of food she had. When we brought this to the attention of the lady at the till she said she's being charged for sitting on their high chair at the table!! I've never heard such nonsense does she want us to leave her outside! After I told her I've never heard something so ridiculous she changed her mind and said it's because she can't eat for free, considering the price we all paid a few small bits off the buffet wouldn't cost them anything considering we don't eat half as much as most people do! They try to get money out of you for the slightest thing, absolutely disgusting never coming here again!

Cold food, cold plates. Terrible. Will never visit again. Very expensive for the choice offered on the buffet. Had to leave almost all the food. Tried to wait for fresh to come out of the kitchen and get a slightly warm meal.

We have visited twice recently, once with a large group when the buffet was laid on especially for us and having enjoyed that we decided to go just as a couple on a midweek night. The restaurant was very quiet with just 3 tables being used aand the music was turned down as soon as we requested it. The manageress was the only member of staff we saw and she was attentive and polite (as she had been on the previous occasion). this time we had dishes from the menu as the buffet is only at the weekends. However we were not disappointed, the food was plentiful and very tasty. I think it will become one of our 'regular' eating places.

The Semaphore Lodge changed it restraint to a Chinese Restaurant some time ago. The evening menu is extensive with dishes from all over the East. The Chinese Buffet is excellent value for the money. The food range is very good and plentiful. As soon as an item was getting to the last few it was immediately filled up. The staff were polite and friendly. I would recommend to anyone staying in the North Wales area.

After a 5 and a half hour drive up from Somerset to North Wales on Thursday, my brother and I decided to stop at the Semaphore Lodge for takeaway. We ordered a rice dish and a chicken and prawn in black bean with garlic. We were shocked to get back only to start dishing up the rice to find a fried COCKROACH in the dish. We immediately decided to return all the food, being a chef myself and having worked in the industry for the past 8 years I instantly decided that I wouldn't not be eating from that kitchen. After all, if there is one cockroach, there is many! So, all being said, I would avoid this place at all costs until they have had pest control in to take control of the situation. I've attached a photo of our additional 'extra'. PS, upon returning the food and demanding a refund, refusing a replacement from that kitchen, we were very very reluctantly given our money back, after the best part of 20 minutes trying to explain why we were not prepared to eat the food, and of it. Avoid this place at all costs until the kitchen is up to an acceptable hygiene level and the management need to learn some manners.

Asistió como un grupo grande de amigos en una cena buffet. Restaurante bastante concurrida, toda la comida distribuida de forma atractiva y listo para comer, se repone regularmente. Esto me parece una buena manera de reuniones con un grupo grande como puedes ayudar a ti mismo cuando estés listo, volver para más (si lo desea), había una amplia variedad de comida para elegir y pagar al final era simple, ve a la reintegros en cajeros y reportar sus consumo, paga!

Fuimos allí para mi comida de cumpleaños de mi esposa con la familia esta noche. Tuvimos el buffet tenedor. La comida era excelente, el servicio de la camarera fue genial, muy atento y servicial con respecto a mis hijas dieta vegetariana. No puedo alabar la camarera lo suficiente.

Don't waste your money. The premises should be refurbished into a good family pub with good food and real ales - not a greasy, slimy run down business. We expect more in 2017.

Really poor visit!!! Had not been for a long time. Restaurant is dirty and needs updating. Soup uncovered and cold. Spring rolls were wet and soggy. Spare ribs were like eating chewing gum. Main courses really poor choice! Duck and pancakes were nice. If you like Chinese food like we all do, stick to a nice clean restaurant! Staff attentive though but look bored stiff.

Excelent meal really good choice of buffett, 2 children in our party of 11, food was hot,and staff very friendly and very helpful, would deffinately recommend to any one, sweet table was really nice which also containd sweets for the children, which they thought was fun, complements to staff and owners

Me my husband and two daughters visited here on Sunday evening and it was lovely, the staff were all friendly especially the young lady behind the bar I believe her name was Olivia, also the manager was very friendly and helpful.As we got there we were seated right away and were told to help our selves to the Buffett which was fantastic all the food was full and fresh, I highly recommend the chicken skewers and the sweet and sour chicken. There were lots of deserts to choose from and fresh fruit as well, overall it was a very good experience nice to see the place so busy would definitely recommend.

Weve been here a few times now but wont be going back unless it has a serious makeover. Its in desperate need of an update the carpet is stuck down with tape in places. The furnishings are shabby and uncomfortable and the exterior is rundown. We had reserved a table and booked in the manager who couldnt raise a smile went in the back and snapped at the staff to come out. We were reluctantly shown to our table. Drinks were ordered and then they forgot to bring them. We werent asked whether we wanted the buffet or not so we just started. Nothing was replenished in a hurry and the desserts were shocking. The only positive was a waitress called Imogen. She deserves to be trained to be the manager. The most friendliest girl in there well done imogen

We visited at the weekend, myself husband and 2yound children, aged 10 and 3. We waited to be seated and were placed at a table with a view. Although the window above was slightly ajar and it was freezing but the window appeared to be broken so i couldn't pull it closed. We were asked what were would like to drink and left to help our self the the chinese buffet. I served a very small plate to my 3year old before helping myself, and then we all ate together. I was put off my plate of food after picking up plain chicken skewers only to descover one was covered in satay sauce - my husband has a sever nut allergy so wondered what else was mixed or contaminated! The food was very poor. Tasteless and very greasy. The service was poor also. We waited forever for our drinks to arrive. No one came around to check if our food was ok or ask if we needed anything. When leaving, considering this is an all u can eat and i had half a plate of food, my 3year old probably had half of that again, my husband and daughter had one serving and my daughter a pudding and one drink each- all cordial or lemonade. We were charged £70!!!! Can only think we have been charged full adult prices for a child and toddler too. Will not be visiting again!

Visited for the first time in a few years for a family meal with my husband, my brother and his partner. There weren't many people there to start with so I don't know why we had to wait in the bar for so long..then we were told to enter the buffet which wasn't very well stocked..the owner kept going round it looking at the food to see what needed refilling but was very reluctant to do so..I had to ask for a couple of things, which took a while to come out..then they just put new stuff on top of old. Anyway to cut a long story short, the food was OK - a bit bland but OK as long as you don't mind cold-lukewarm..the final straw was the (lack of) dessert..I kept asking for the deserts to be stocked up as I could only see the same 2 meringue nests that were there when we arrived but apparently that was it. I asked to speak to the manager who didn't bother to show up..I was told as we had given up and were paying the £15-99 each for the cold bland bit of food that the desserts were all still frozen and if we waited we could have some ice cream. I decided not to bother and told him I'd be leaving this review to which he shrugged his shoulders. The toilets I visited whilst waiting for the taxi to a better place left a lot to be desired. The hand driers didn't work and the floors were littered with dirty loo roll whilst the loos were in need of a good clean. I wish I'd spotted this before we had entered the 'dining room ' needless to say we will never be returning here...

Came here with family on a Friday evening. And was not impressed to be honest. Ordered a side portion of veg and to be charged nearly £6.00 which was practically raw. Then £22.00 pound for a bottle of wine is disgusting. Husband ate from the buffet not as fresh and hot as it should be. And then to get a bone in the duck, that could of been a child. It's not for me but could be for others. You just have to try for yourself.

For people who like chinese food it's a great place to eat.The eat all you want buffet is great value,with a good choice of food ,nice polite staff with a lovely setting.

It was lovely having so many choices and all the food I tried was very tasty and good and very much enjoyed. Food unless fresh out wasn't that hot and cold plates don't help.The room was really quite cold where my table was.

Have visited several times recently having had it recommended for a long time by various friends. Although difficult to find there is good parking. The view Is amazing. The Chinese meal is buffet style and I was impressed the the food was regularly check and replaced, so fresh. The choice is good plenty of starters and main courses to choose from. I've been able to try food I maybe would not have ordered. Recommend. Will visit again soon with friends.

Food was okay, vegetarian choice on the buffet rather limited. Happy overall until we were charged more than the advertised price and the manager told us the price went up in December and was unapologetic about the missinforming sign in the bar.

Most of the food was ok, however if you're a vegetarian it is limited to about six choices, no veg curry or tofu based meals

We visit the semaphore every time we are staying nearby and have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and the staff are lovely. Would recommend to everyone and round say don't be put off by first appearance. See you next time we are in north Wales.

Waitresses here are lovely, very friendly and accommodating. Bar staff were okay too. Food was nice but didn't seem to be as fresh as I would've liked. While queuing, one of the girls working there had to turn the light back on and got an electric shock from the buffet stand but it wasn't cared about by most staff. Still, she got on with her job anyway. Dessert was nice but limited choice. Not quite worth the money, especially the price for young kids who eat barely anything. The vegetarian options are limited to rice, plain noodles or veg, so would be worth ordering off the main menu but wasn't given the option. Would still go again but only at opening, a menu order or a takeaway.

We have just been to Choi's at the semaphore for my daughter's 21st. Very evident who she was with the singing and 'surprise' call when she walked in but the surly woman behind the bar still insisted a bar man ask her for id! She was quite rude and had no people skills! Very off putting. The rest of the staff were brilliant and made our eve enjoyable. 1 of our guests did not want the banquet but was told the only option really was steak and chips or omelette! They had the steak and chips but were not offered any veg or anything to accompany it! Very disappointing and this spoilt their evening. Overall a nice evening but the woman behind the bar could learn how to deal with customers as the rest of the staff do! Some of our party actually said they would not return!

On holiday from the Midlands touring north wales. Found this restaurant thx to trip advisor. Even though we were the only people eating lunch the food was excellent with the lunchtime special at just over £7 was great VFM. The staff were friendly and even a quality wine by the glass. Would recommend this place the lunch.Amazing views across the bar as well.

We booked a table here for dinner, have been before, and were not disappointed. Great selection of starters and mains to suit all tastes. Chicken and sweetcorn soup was replenished when requested and was lovely and hot. Hard to pick a favourite dish as we like them all!! All washed down with a chilled pint.Small selection of sweets a welcome touch - special mention for the strawberry ice cream.. Excellent value for money.

We had a family meal here during a short stay near Colwyn Bay. I have to say it was excellent, the food was hot and tasty, being a buffet you can fill your boots! Well recommended, even the puddings looked great, but I was too stuffed to move by then :)

Been to the semaphore previously but this time was much much better. A bit expensive compared to other places that do buffets but the food was very nice , The BBQ ribs were fantastic

Another superb meal here. I love the buffet as you can have a bit of this & that. Always plenty of selection. Desserts could be better but the other food make up for that.

Visited here last week for the second time, it was as good as I remembered! Again, there was plenty of choice, and all delicious. My favourite were the numerous 'starter' choices, my daughter's was the choice of desserts Will definitely be returning again.

Great food and service here, didn't go on the buffet night but had a fantastic meal on the fixed menu Had both the Malaysian and Chinese and both really good, tasty and very moreish Decent selection of beers too and a lovely view over the sea

Poor choice in food, mains were not to my taste however I did try the chow mein noodles which were so dry I couldn't even swallow the bit I had in my mouth. I just filled myself on average starters. Would not recommend.

We had a family meal here, it overlooks the seafront with beautiful views. As far as buffet food goes it's really good quality. The only thing I would comment on was the ribs were a little on the cool side, apart from that it was lovely.

Me and my partner visited here for the first time today and I have a lovely experience. Good food at a reasonable price. The two young waitresses were very happy and helpful to us. The decor was lovely. Will deffiently visit again. Thank you.

Visited Choi's at semaphore lodge both on buffet days and also on 'regular' nights. The buffet is great value but the regular menu is the reason for this review. The Thai and Malaysian sections of the menu are terrific. The Thai green curry is the best in at least 50 mile radius. The lemongrass chicken tastes amazing! The waiting staff are friendly although dinners are few and far between on a regular night. If you enjoy Thai, Malay or Chinese food pay it a visit.

Very tasty food and friendly staff.Our hotel (which was higher than our usual Travelodge standard) recommended this restaurant so as we pulled up we were expecting a similar standard, on arrival the tired Chinese décor made us think twice about staying but I'm glad we did.The menu had numerous choices from Chinese, Malaysian, Japanese and Thai, we chose sizzling special (pork, chicken and king prawn) with black bean sauce and Green Thai curry chicken and king prawn, both were delicious :)The only thing that let the meal down - we were sat at a table with a sea view which could have been lovely but wasn't very pleasant as it also looked out onto the restaurant bins and un-kept carpark :(

We were told about the Semaphore Lodge and as we both like Chinese food thought we would give it a try. The weather was not very nice but when we arrived at the restaurant we were given a warm welcome by the staff.The buffet was very good there was lots of choice soup, duck with pancakes and lots of other starters too many to list, the main courses beef, chicken, pork with rice or noodles and various vegies. The sweets were plentiful and different to the usual offered in Chinese restaurants. All in all we enjoyed the whole meal and were full when we left it was very good value. The buffet is only served on Friday Saturday &Sunday evenings from 6.00pm. We are looking forward to taking our friends there on their next visit.

Went here for my birthday meal with my mum, Nan and sister. very welcoming when you walk in. we all went for their Chinese buffet which we had heard about. There was lipstick stains on the glasses from whoever had last used them and the one that disgusted me the most was that there were flies in the vinegar! When we told the person at the 'desk' they went to the back and didn't come back. also there was food such as rice etc in the bottom of the soup tub. Wont be going again!

Went for a friends birthday early evening. We had the buffet which was very plentiful and regularly topped up. Nothing ran out.Starters, mains and desserts .£15.80Very attentive staff kept coming round with clean plates and asking if we were ok.A good evening out

We have dined for a number of years at the above venue. We have had a la carte menu and the all you can eat buffet far to many times to count. Never had a problem!!We went last Sunday evening and were shocked. Hardly any food in the Bain Marie's.was obvious when we entered. We were given a table in a great position and ordered drinks ,a pet hate of ours is sticky tables. They were possibly the worst for many a year we have suffered. That was number one. We went to get our meals and the prawn toast was to be very kind stale or VERY well toasted .The chicken pieces on sticks (satay ?) were almost cold . The only item that was topped up was honey ribs. It was eight thirty at night and there were very few diners in fact four only until after eight thirty and looking at their faces they were not impressed. One of the waitresses went home with the senior member of staff ten to fifteen minutes she returned in the mean time there was only one member of staff on duty. Amazed how far this venue has slipped down. Instead of one of our first choices it is way way down now .Sorry but this how we see this place.

Starters and mains were excellent but due to how busy the restaurant was sometimes there was no food available and as my partner could only eat 1 or 2 dishes this made it a lot harder for her. The puddings are not great and some seemed like they had been there a while. I do think the location of the food is not great as it is close to where people waiting for tables are and makes it a bit contested at times. Price was very reasonable.

Nice friendly pub with authentic very smart Chinese restaurant attached, its not what you expect from the outside, as its a surprisingly large and airy venue with great sea views. Food is consistently good, choice of Chinese, Malaysian, Japanese and Thai. Service is quick and at the weekends they do an amazing special deal, a sort of open buffet type thing, this is extremely popular and very good too. Amazing find and as good as anywhere in China Town in my opinion, tons of parking go and enjoy yourself!

We have just moved to the area and we're looking forward to our first takeaway from a restaurant which has always had a good reputation. Unfortunately once we got home and looked in our bag, the main meals were not what we prefers, which was disappointing. Had we not just put the baby to bed, we would have gone back. Shame.

Went here on Valentine's day for the buffet and had a fab time , the food was delecious and ( as I'm a vegetarian ) I received a main off the menu with the buffet!but still had plenty of choice, staff were very friendly and offering drinks through the meal!

We visited here as a family party. Having been before i tried the buffet this time. This was great value and everything was hot and replenished when empty. We had a seperate starter but they included this in the buffet price. One waiter stood out but i cant remember his name. He was very friendly polite and helpful. An asset to the business.

For the value it is good value. Nora's good as a sit down waiter service Chinese but it's not bad and good value for money. We have been about 8 times and the choices are always the same. When busy they can be slow to replenish supplies but as I say it is good value as as long as you are prepared to wait a bit they do get round to it particularly when you ask. The staff are lovely and this place is well worth a visit. It's normally quite full at the weekend so worth booking in advance.

Had a great meal here at night (04.12.15) with friends a lovely pub with an amazing chinese in the back. I would seriously recommend the all uou can eat buffet as there is a great selection of food. The staff are also great and really friendly (especially Jenny who served us at the bar).

This is excellent for a family celebration as the the cost of the all you can eat buffet is set price! Always a friendly welcome and staff are great too. Food is tasty and nice and you can eat as much as you like, sometimes too much!!!

Went for the Sunday night buffet. Was a bit worried after reading previous reviews but I have to say the food was very good. It WAS hot and the staff were refilling regularly. Granted some of the staff were diffident but they were young and their badges said they were trainees.This is what it is. It is a buffet not a 5 star restaurant but I would certainly go again.

Cold food, When actually dose get replenished the new food is dumped on top of the old..Dirty plates left everywhere and not cleared through out the duration of our meal..When i had a word with the manager at the end when she asked was everything OK I clearly stated that she mustn't be a wear of the basic food safety/hygiene procedures as the food definitely isn't kept at the correct SAFE temperature...
