We had a lovely experience here on arrival we were welcomed and shown to our table we ordered and it was cooked fresh in front of us. Great for gluten intolerant. Best gluten free fish and chips ive ever had. I would highly recommend.

Went here with my parents on the 27/10/23 for lunch. Highly recommend A**** My mum has dementia and uses a wheelchair, the staff insisted on getting the ramp out to help her in and let her order a children’s meal. The food was cooked fresh and tasted delicious. Price very reasonable and the staff were extremely helpful and kind.

Another amazing meal here tonight. I am a Coeliac and to have ‘real’ fish and chips is a great treat. Knowing that the food is gluten free is so reassuring. The Sea Tree is out of this world. The staff have been consistently excellent throughout the years they’ve been open. I highly recommend a visit and can guarantee it will be the first of many.

I've tried most of the fish and chip places in Hertfordshire and this is by far the best. A passionate and proud owner, great service, nice place to sit, good music and perfect fish and chips.

After reading so many good reviews on here, we were totally disappointed!The fish wasn’t as tasty as other restaurants in the area and the batty on my son’s fish was far thicker than the fish itself!

We were out walking and stumbled across this amazing little place. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the restaurant area modern and clean and the fish and chips….well, the best we’ve ever had! We sat in (they offer takeaway too) and could see that all food was cooked freshly when ordered. I can’t speak highly enough about this place, give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

I am giving you four stars, but I never give five! We walked in without a booking and were immediately made welcome. There were customers of all sorts and ages, so you will feel comfortable whoever you are. Diners who were ahead of us had completely cleared their plates - always a good sign! I had two starters instead of a main: salt and pepper squid, and scallops. These are good ingredients, simply and expertly cooked, served hot and fresh. My husband had seafood linguine - again, no twists just correctly cooked pasta with a good variety of shellfish. The waiter was attentive and friendly, the chef welcoming and professional - we left feeling very happy.

Lucky that my hubby spotted this place in Ware as we had to spend the night there. Never, as a coeliac, have I been treated to such a choice of gluten free fish starters - tempura prawns! - and mains, and as the proprietor is a coeliac, I knew I could feel totally safe. Waiting staff knowledge could perhaps do with improving but proprietor stepped in to clarify any queries.

Being a family with many allergies, nuts, celiac and dairy free, we could all have the amazing fish and chip take a way, something that usually we can’t all have. It was delicious!

We have been here many times with and without children - always a good choice of seafood, consistently good.

There were very little fish stuffings. Portion was alright but It would be more accurate to say that it was a large portion of mashed potato.

I have been lucky enough to have had fish and chips from many venues, for example Langan's Brasserie and many other establishments up and down the country. The Sea Tree are the best yet! Never disappointed.

Good food but the collection experience is shambolic. Second time I’ve gone since they reopened and it’s got much worse. Pre ordered by phone an hour before and they ask what time you wish to collect. However absolutely no point in pre ordering by phone as you still have to queue with everyone else! No one knows what’s going on. Waited 40 minutes after the agreed collection time and people getting V angry outside. Difficult to social distance as people queuing left right and gathering right outside and those who phoned naturally expect they can just go in and collect. Other local restaurants manage to get this collection process right so this is bad by SeaTree. Unfortunately can not recommend until they sort this out. Suggest they commence that you pay when you phone through your order to aid social distancing and have two different queues outside for pre-ordered and not. Otherwise scrap the phone ordering.Disappointing.

Social distancing means takeaway options needed and the Seatree always comes up trumps excellent scampi and fish and chips , order phoned through and ready 15mins later. Keep up the good work!

As I have a severe gluten intolerance there isn’t anywhere safe for me to eat for takeaway however there is now whilst visiting ware for weekend we found the sea tree We booked fir sat night service was first class friendly The food was beautiful well cooked and I so enjoyed it Clean reasonably price highly recommend for all defonwould travel back one day

Had an evening meal here and it was lovely. Good sized portions and all nicely cooked. A little expensive for fish and chips but worth it when you want a treat.

Went in to grab some take out chips. They were fine and we were served quickly however as I was given my order I realised the staff member behind the till was touching money and without washing hands or putting on gloves was then touching both raw and cooked food

Went there for a take away on Friday night. They were very busy and looking at the items being turned out I was not surprised. But sadly the cod was far too thin. It looked great and the batter was very good. The fact that the cod was so thin meant that it was over cooked. They are charging premium prices so we would have expected better quality. Will give it another try and will see if this was an exception to the norm

Great place to pick up your fish and chips or eat in. Fish is very fresh. You can pick up some fresh fish and other sea dwelling treats as well as they have a fresh fish counter. Good selection of other foods on the menu. The price is also very reasonable!

Visited early Friday at 17.00. Nice tidy restaurant with a cantina feel. Ordered pan fried skate, what an absolute delight! Plain fresh fish, no batter, no fancy sauce, just fresh fish cooked to perfection. Excellent service, cannot fault it here. A must visit when in the area.

Amazing fish, took my family on a weekend meal. Staff are very friendly food was amazing. My daughter can only have gluten free food and this is a very convenient option for both her and the family. The fish and chips here are delicious with just the right size portions and great customer service. Yet to seat in the main restaurant but if it's anything like the takeaway you're in for a treat. Highly recommend so give it a try.

Sometimes we don't like change, we're comfortable as we are and there's a level of familiarity about everything. The ownership has changed but nothing else. It's certainly a lot busier but there are no radical changes in the menu...and that does need to change or

You could definitely tell that they use fresh as you can see on their fresh fish counter. Also gluten-free crispy batter (which by the way you could not tell the difference from regular batter) The fish is amazing served with home made tartare sauce & mushy peas! The service was amazing by very friendly welcoming staff. Would definitely recommend people this amazing fish & chip shop I could reassure you that you would not be disappointed. We had previously discussed visiting this restaurant so with good reviews we decided it was time to give it a try.

Having a culinary background I feel qualified to say this is a top establishment. It’s very clean, good quality food and good service. I can honestly say they do the best fish, chips and accompaniments I’ve had from a chippy. The food is fresh, they make their own curry sauce, mushy peas and tartare sauce.

Great fresh fish with many different choices. Classic fish and chips and also many house specials, skate, plaice, seafood risotto. Well taken care of by friendly staff.

We had been meaning to try this place for a while and wow are we glad we did. Great selection of fish and seafood dishes. We both had the crab Thermidor but were spoilt for choice and will definitely be returning. The service was efficient and friendly.

We have just visited The Sea Tree for our first time (we have been missing out for years) The restaurant is bright, clean and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. Hus was great and greeted us with a smile and showed us to our table. He was just a delight all evening and the service was quick and efficient. The food was AMAZING. Tempura Prawns and Calamari for starters. The batter was crispy and the prawns/calamari cooked to perfection. We all ordered Haddock, Chips and Mushy Peas. All was tasty and again cooked to perfection. The menu and specials board varied and I am definitely going back for Cromer Crab Thermodor, Chips, Coleslaw and Salad. We loved everything about our evening and I would happily recommend you go for a meal. Food incredible, Atmosphere relaxed and friendly, Staff friendly and attentive. We have booked our second visit already. Go on book now you won't be sorry (I would advise booking a table as the restaurant gets very busy) Thank you Hus and The Sea Tree we loved our visit.

A long time ago I was working in Aberdeen, where I visited a fish and chip shop that had won a prize for being the best in the UK. They were great fish and chips, but the ones I had at the Sea Tree last week were better.

I can't believe this restaurant has been in Ware for over 5 years and we've only just discovered it. I Googled gluten free fish and chips near me and The Sea Tree came up. My daughter loves sea food and I've not had fish and chips other than homemade since being diagnosed as coeliac. We received a very warm welcome and very attentive service throughout our visit. This restaurant sits somewhere between a 'normal' fish and chips shop (they do take-away) and an eat-in fish restaurant so the prices are a little bit more than normal but we were more than happy to pay. Service was quick, the food was freshly prepared and hot...excellent sized portions (glad I chose regular cod and not large!)...and delicious. I could tell by my daughter's face that we will be nagged incessantly to return...and we definitely will! Varied menu..my daughter had seafood linguine, husband had scampi, friend had breaded halloumi and I had cod. Very happy customers

Really gorgeous cod & chips with mushy peas and the quality shines - the tartare sauce was the best I’ve had. The portions were generous and the service eating-in was excellent, with friendly and efficient staff. Highly recommend.

Our second lunch at The Sea Tree in a month. We’ve tried the whitebait which was excellent, Crab Thermidor and Cod and chips all beautifully cooked. Enjoying a beer and a glass of wine too alongside the food and excellent service makes it a great place to keep returning to. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Really frequently staff with a lot of knowledge, they are happy to advise about the fish from there fish counter,if you want to cook it at home.

Staff all friendly and efficient. Eat in or take away. Fish and chips really really good. 2 courses for £19.95 , very good value. Good choice of starters , mains courses and a few deserts, that we didnt try as were were nicely satisfied with the first two courses.

We usually eat in. There is an excellent (fish) menu and we always enjoy our meal. The Goujons are good for a smaller appetite but there is plenty of choice (including starters) for anyone wanting more.

My wife and I took my elderly parents and their friend for a fish and chip treat as they can’t really afford to eat out now. We decided to eat at the Sea Tree as I’ve always found it reasonably priced, good service and fantastic food.

We were in the area and thought it would be nice to have fish and chips. This place did not disappoint! There is a seating area/restaurant style (with real seafood). We had children so decided to take out. Staff were very friendly. The batter and fishes were made fresh. Very nice and thin batter on fish so stayed crispy even after taking it home. I have visited The Sea Tree on several occasions for lunch, the fish and chips are cooked whilst you wait, service is very friendly and the food is wonderfully fresh and hot. Thoroughly recommended.

First time visit and we were extremely impressed. Quick service and the fish pie was perfect ! We will definitely be recommending this place and we are already looking forward to returning soon.

I love this place! 3rd time I've been here and it never disappoints. The quality of the food is incredible. The seafood is really fresh and meals are well priced. My favourite is the fish stew so far but I'm happily working my way through the menu. They do seem to change up their menu according to the season, so, plenty of interesting options as well as the standard fish and chips. If scallops are on the menu - have them! They are always beautifully cooked! Already looking forward to next visit and unanimously popular amongst our family.

Although the restaurant is more cafe than restaurant, the food is definitely high end restaurant cuisine.

I had been running around like a headless chicken all day. Hadn't eaten so Picking my autistic son up from club I had a spare 5 minutes so stopped of here to get some chips to take away. Walked out the door ate a chip and they were stone cold. I had binned them before I got back to my car. If I had taken them back I'm sure they would of cooked some fresh ones but I just didn't have the time. I'm hoping it was just a one off as the place seems buzzing and has good reviews

Nowhere else was open so we had a take away from here and enjoyed it more than I thought we would. The chips were good and the batter on the cod was very crispy - not just plain batter but had some type of cereal in it.

We had not been for a while, but no worries, still marvellous food. Haddock and chips heaven. The starter of scallops, spicy sausage and cauliflower puree was the perfect opener. Not too impressed with craft beer brewed by guiness.

Excellent fish and chips. I have eaten here at lunch and in the evening, the specials are always amazing and very very tasty. The take away is no different from that served in the restaurant.

Back again for another great meal. Baked Camembert with toasted sourdough and cherry compote starter was delicious and poached smoked haddock on colcannon mash with mustard sauce topped with a poached egg! Fantastic! Thoroughly recommended.

I have on many occasions used the takeaway fish and chip services, what I particularly like is that your meal is freshly cooked. There is also eat in facilities at the rear of the premises.

Been here many times and never fails to impress us. Good varied menu, superbly prepared, cooked and served. Plenty on the menu to suit all but my husband says the best fish and chips for miles around.

We ate in and I had a Fantastic Gluten Free Fish & Chips. The batter on the fish was very light and crispy, and my husband, who can eat normal fish & chips said the gluten free batter was better!

I have had a couple of take aways before but this is the first time I got a "traditional" take away from Sea Tree i.e. cod in batter and chips...the meal was excellent and tartare sauce homemade and lovely. I will seriously consider this for fish and chips more regularly now as opposed to the other excellent fish and chip shops in the town.

I visited the sea tree for a lunch with my mum and sister for a girlie catch up. We have been here on numerous occasions and have had takeaways as well. This particular afternoon still didn’t disappoint. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by the owner and seated , ordered a drink and was left to look over the menu. After ordering we could see the chef hard at work all prep and cooking done in the front in full view. We were advised to have a sharing platter to start which was superb, glad we took the advise. Very freshly cooked prawns, squid and whitebate, even added a prawn cocktail as requested. We opted for the two course special menu, so for main course had the sea bass , which was very well presented, and served with unusually matched cabbage and bacon, with a side of dolphonise potatoes. Too full , we passed on pudding, but the choice Es there if you wanted. The staff were very friendly throughout, would again definitely recommend, and will be returning.

We didn’t stay in the restaurant to eat our meals but whilst waiting for our order to be cooked, we wished that we had dined in as the atmosphere was calm and friendly. Food was delicious and gluten free! Amazing! Very happy tummy’s thank you

Visited Sea Tree yesterday evening after being recommended by friends & didn't disappoint. Shared the Mussels in white white to start & were amazing as was both our mains that followed. Extremely friendly staff. Will definitely be going back.

Ate here as a party of five and we all were very impressed with the food. Not just fish and chips, but fish pie, tempura prawns and haloumi. All cooked beautifully, served well and a reasonable choice of drinks at fair prices. Well done!

Just passing, saw the unusual menu and decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed. Scampi, Haddock along side Japanese fried chicken and breaded Halloumi. Good food and service in a simple friendly atmosphere.

From the friendly greeting on arrival to the fabulous table service, this is a gem for fish lovers. Care and attention to detail goes into every freshly made meal. So much to choose from on the menu plus an array of fresh specials with 2 course and 3 course deals and believe me there’s no shortage on portions. I had the Cromer crab Thermidor on the specials with home made coleslaw tricolour style salad and chips that were the best - no grease just crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside.

This was our 3rd visit to The Sea Tree. We have always gone with another couple and because we went on a Friday night and it was my husbands birthday I decided to book. I am glad I did as it was very busy. This restaurant is a family run one and the food is very good. I have always had the prawns as a main course which is delicious and my husband has always had the cod and chips. The restaurant is licensed which is great as I do like a glass of wine. The menu is varied and good value especially if you go for the set menu. The only reason I didn’t give the Sea Tree 5 stars is because the service is slow but it wouldn’t stop me from revisiting in the future.
