This was a second visit to the Savoy Grill in less than 3 months . Both times we had the Sundsy lunch and both times the meat quality was unacceptable as on both occasions there was a lot of gristle in all the meals. I would expect this quality in a lower graded establishment but not in this iconic restaurant owned by a world renowned chef. The service recieved was impeccable, but either this be the norm or we have just been unlucky on the food front. Dint think we will visit for a third time

Food was pretty good, portion sizes are pretty small for what you pay. Service was terrible, and the prices are pretty ridiculous. I loved the atmosphere of the dining room though.

For the price you'd expect a dining experience where the food would leave a positive impression. Instead I would say I left with the impression that Gordon Ramsay is just a common huckster. There is a reason this restaurant doesnt have michelin stars anymore. The espresso martini was good but after that there was really no positive on the meal. The souffle was unevenly salted, as if, the front half of the dish got salt and the back half didnt and its not the fish that im talking about in terms of salt levels as the waiter wanted to convince me in. The Beef Wellington was actually disappointing, I had trouble cutting it with a steak knife which isnt supposed to happen. Surprisingly the beef wellington from Boca in Cincinnati, OH is actually done better and also a few restaurants in Boston. Wouldnt be surpised if pubs in London do it much better and for a lower price. To put it lightly, Gordon Ramsay's Beef Wellington is overhyped and lacks taste, by far the most bland piece of meat I've eaten in London (no wonder everyone jokes about the british not having any spices in their food). The water is indeed 7.5 pounds which is ridiculous because tap would be fine but wasnt offered. Dessert was interesting but was way too sweet for my liking. I think the wrong choice was made to use white chocolate rather than dark chocolate on the shell of fruity cheese cake inside. Service was good, not sure why there were complaints. I will say, it is indeed chaos in the dining area, the wait staff seem to come to the tables way too often to top off water for people, never letting it get below 75% of the cup volume. They move with brisk pace across to tables and in general it wasnt a calm dining area. Part of fine dining is the attentiveness the staff gives you, but when it becomes too overbearing its a problem in my opinion and in this case it started to cross the line.

The oldest trick in the book the stuff come up to you what drink would you like would you like to have water yes please what would you like still or sparkling or other so we have sparkling it went to after we got the bill it was seven pound a bottle where two of them then the charas 50 odd pound service charge the food is not tomorrow liking when we all left we went back to Leicester and we ended up having an Indian food so take that Gordon Ramsay no one you can draw around in a Lamborghini

Food was excellent, no complains, the steak we both ordered were perfectly grilled and everything was on point. Maybe it is the fine dining concept, but I feel the atmosphere is a bit subdue and the staff didn't give me an overall "friendly" vibe. That could be just me. Despite so, I must say I am pleasantly surprised when asked for a cup of warm water, they freshly boiled a pot of it and had it served to our table. It is a nice gesture.

I really don’t know where to start! I thought I had walked back in time to the 70’s. I couldn’t get over sitting in a velvet sofa with a table pushed up to us, and our view was other diners behind tables, it was like being at a Concert, facing a stage of other diners. The food was passable but not perfect. Needs updating drastically, I struggled to find a meal of this century! I love Lobster Thermidor, but mines better….more tender….more tasty. Starter was good, frothy soufflé’ very strong of cheese, but well cooked. I just didn’t get the inflated prices at a less than inflated menu and setting. Staff were amazing, food was under par, seating is quite ridiculous for privacy. MAKEOVER desperate, update menu and I may return for £200 per person on our visit.

Dining at the Savoy Grill is a special experience for a special event, particularly when it's at the Chefs Table. The Chefs table is a great private dining experience where we were able to taste food from Gordon Ramseys menu. We were served by our very own waiter & wine steward/waiter. I highly recommend the Côte De Boeuf (pictured), medium rare. The wine suggested and selected complimented the meal. I highly recommend the Grill whether in the restaurant or at the Chefs table.

Service friendly but rushed. Sandwiches bland and uninspiring. Plates cleared, the bill brought and credit card machine presented to me before we had even finished eating. After exactly 90 minutes we were told to vacate our table as they wanted it back. I do not expect that when paying £230 for two. There are better and more luxurious afternoon tea experiences out there - choose one of those instead!

Came here for a 5 year anniversary dinner with my boyfriend and spent the whole dinner being starred at like a zoo animal, the other customer was sitting at the table next to us and was clearly talking about us to the rest of his party who also was staring at us. Not a place for the gays. Their solution was to write us a card telling us to have a happy anniversary, and ask us to move tables. They tried offered free dessert but I made it clear I wasn’t interested in dessert but they gave it to us anyway so we left it there. I had been waiting for 3 years to go to this restaurant ever since becoming a huge Gordon Ramsey fan.

The servers were attentive and have exceptional training. A drink I wasn’t a fan of was comped and another suggested and remade. The food was to die for. And they bought out a lovely signed card and chocolate mouse at the end. Definitely an experience I’d love to have again.

Having experienced Afternoon Tea at the Ritz and Claridge's, we were looking forward to the experience at the Savoy with high expectations. Sadly, the reality did not live up to them. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, but the food was a little disappointing. The sandwiches were slightly dry on the edges, and not all as delicious as one might expect in an establishment like Savoy., the egg one was particularly bland. The mini pastries were tasty, but lacked the refine touch, which again we were expecting. Overall, for the price we paid, the experience did not leave us fully satisfied.

Always wanted to go to the Savoy Grill and glad I now have. My honest opinion is that it's overrated and certainly over-priced. I reckon it's living on past glories. We were served by 6/7 different people, whereas I prefer ONE person to take responsibility for looking after us - with so many staff no one takes overall responsibility or ownership of the task. Our drinks person forgot our drinks on several occasions and when we reminded her, she brought our drinks one at a time rather than together. Overall, there were far too many staff flying about all over the place and this was annoying and distracting and I didn't appreciate the jazz music (😒) blaring in my ear. The meal was delicious (beef Wellington and halibut) and atmosphere convivial (apart from aforementioned army of staff), but I wouldn't rush to go back.

Lovely Afternoon Tea for a friend’s milestone birthday. Sandwiches were good as were the cakes although I didn’t feel the service was as good as last time I visited. There were a few times I had to serve myself additional tea and items weren’t necessarily replenished as they had been. We also felt a bit rushed towards the end as the table was needed for the next guests. At £225 with a glass of fizz it wasn’t cheap and I didn’t think it was good value for money.

I went to Savoy Grill with my partner tonight. We ordered the bone-in ribeye as well as the apple tart, two items and we spent £190 in total. Overall, it’s a pleasant experience, the surprise was the apple tart, it’s extremely delicious, but the ribeye is way overpriced. The bone-in ribeye itself costs £140 before service charge and it’s very average. I must say, to be honest, they have done a pretty decent job on a British steak, but for this price tag, I think it has to be at least USDA Prime quality.

Having been to the Savoy afternoon tea before several years ago where the cakes were excellent I was very disappointed with the cakes on offer this time. I had arranged this tea for my visitors from overseas on the promise of the excellence last time . The Sandwiches and savoury bites were good. My guests questioned if the scones were shop bought and as for the cakes they were very ordinary. The only one we all enjoyed was the chocolate cube, the choux buns were too sharp with a horrible aftertaste. The other two were bland and boring. This is such a shame and embarrassing for me as I had raved about it before. Maybe I should have gone for the Ritz instead. I’ve had better cakes at lesser venues!

It’s a great afternoon and beautiful surroundings and the service was excellent. However, I have to say that the quantity of food was quite poor. I have been to the Savoy for afternoon tea many times and I don’t ever remember there being such a limited amount of food, the table felt very empty and felt quite uncomfortable when we asked for more sandwiches to pick a couple that we liked the best. My cousin and I dined here yesterday for a late afternoon/early evening sitting before heading off to see the award-winning 'For Black Boys...' performance at the Garrick Theatre. To start, I had The Churchill cocktail which was well mixed and tasted really nice. For my starter, I enjoyed the Duck and Chicken liver parfeit which was delightfully rich and full of flavour accompanied by fresh brioche slices. For my main, I had the Beef Wellington - it is one of the best dishes I have had! The meat was tender and delicious especially eating it with a side order of creamed spinach. My cousin had the soufflé for her starter and half a lobster for her main with seasoned fries and long stemmed Broccoli. We were both so full after our main course and cocktails - having a dessert would have been prompted by greed, so we declined having dessert. Overall, our waiter Keith was warm, welcoming and attentive. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant had a gentle buzz of conversation and laughter. Overall we had a really lovely time. Thoroughly recommend dining here!

My brother has always wanted to go to the Savoy so for his 70th birthday. I booked afternoon tea for myself, my brother and his wife. The one thing about the Savoy that is outstanding is their staff from the Dorman to the lady that took our coats, they were all exceptionally present and very professional, this is the one thing that really stood out. Our table was booked for 3:15 pm and we had to leave by 4:45 pm. Unfortunately the table wasn’t ready at 3:15 and we got to our table round about 325. The lady that took her order was lovely and very professional. However she did have to go and have a meeting with her manager so we ended up having someone else service us for majority of the experience. Our sandwiches arrived probably about five minutes prior to the tea arriving that was not very good as we had the sandwiches waiting in front of us but nothing to drink. We asked for an extra selection of sandwiches afterwards because they were not exactly substantial, and that was not a problem When our cakes arrived, they were good The scones were not as hot as they could’ve been, but they were delicious. We couldn’t eat all the cakes so we got a doggy bag to take away which was a nice treat. During the afternoon tea, my brother received a very small slither of cake with a candle in it which is a nice touch but really the size of the cake was laughable the cost including service for just the afternoon tea no alcohol was £276 for three of us. This is more than you will pay at the Ritz. All in all my brother loved the experience, so that means it’s worth it, but would I do it again, probably not

Lovely experience to treat someone with for a birthday or another special occasion. You get a good selection of sandwiches with an option to receive seconds, the cakes and scones are very good indeed, and there is a very wide range of teas to choose from. Lovely ambience in the foyer, with the piano playing under the glass cupola. It really is a very special place for afternoon tea. Definitely something to do once (especially if you're visiting London).

Excellent afternoon tea and service. A truly special treat for our anniversary. The food was delicious, waitress attentive and atmosphere was beautifully calm and relaxing. Highly recommend

The service was excellent from arrival to seating to Katerina pouring us endless cups of tea. Our favourite was the sandwiches and we opted for a few extra. The Champagne was chilled and delicious - the little cake treats were dainty. My only criticism was I don’t think the scones were amazing . They were very small and a little heavy and not light and fluffy as I like them - the jam and cream was delicious and did eat them never the less -we hope to come back for a special occasion
