Excellent food and staff... My wife and I got stalked by a crazy cross dresser! The creature watch us with every mouthful, it was very off putting, then the cross dresser was taking food and drink from tables, PLEASE WATCH OUT FOR THIS DEVIANT - called Being D on YouTube video 52

Fantastic Pub with absolutely great staff. Food served quickly and cooked to a good standard. Tables reasonably spaced apart so can move. Tables cleaned quickly after people leaving. Also very cheap being Weatherspoons, twice the food for less than a McDonalds.

The problem with this place is everything is variable, depends on what day and what time you turn up as to whether your food is going to be reasonable or checkable! It is about time these places, were brought up to 30 year old standards where everyone was taught how to do it properly!!!

There are lovely photos of old Saltcotes on the walls. The waiting staff were very attentive to detail in the very busy restaurant. Food arrived promptly, was hot and well cooked. Will return

Good food at reasonable price .

I got the macaroni it was all stuck together definitely heated up in microwave. Plus I had won a voucher worth £20 I had to stand at the bar for 15 minutes before they could accept it as they said about people printing it of so they had to phone a couple of people before they accepted it.

I have being coming here for years with my family for lunch/dinner and always enjoy a great meal. The service is quick. I would recommend the salad, it's as fresh as a daisy! The only downside is the mess of the tables at times. Staff need to be quicker at cleaning away plates and glasses for the next people sitting down. Nobody wants to go for a meal and sit for 10/15 mins with a table full of dishes. Worth a visit when in sunny Saltcoats!

We visited on a Saturday afternoon. Very busy, however friendly and found a table. Used the app, didn't have to wait an age for food. This was good, prices are Amazing!! A great little find.

I like the food here, especially the breakfast. Only thing is the toilets are a bit dirty, and they need a clean.

Run down, and over due for deep clean and new carpets. Seating overdue for reupholstery . Service was the worst of any wetherspoon's I have ever been in. It's a clean your own table kind of place. Was a Sunday so perhaps no manager on site to oversee the ques at the bar, only one staff serving. Its a shame Saltcoats has went the way of this wetherspoon's.

The breakfast is by far the best thing in here, most of the staff seem to walk past dirty tables and leave them for hours on end which is just an eyesore. The breakfast is good value and tasty! The other food I’ve tried many times and seems okay but by this point the place looks a mess!

Fairly gross. In most aspects. Drink was disgusting, floors sticky, atmosphere was sketchy. Only had one drink and moved on.

Wetherspoon always has good prices and the prices here are below average. Food is reasonable and the service is good. I have noticed recently that the cask ale is below par probably because the beer pipes are not cleaned as often as they should. The place is child friendly and there is good parking behind the premises. It is not wheelchair friendly as there are steps at both back and front entrances.

Terrible food ordered a burger n chips Got a kids meal small burger and a handful of chips .my partner got fish and chips that had loads of chips .never again no salad just plain burger

All good...mainly use for going for a couple drinks...but constantly busy says a lot...

Fish chips full of oil fried in oil too hot ,chip no bad. Double burger and chips very pish poor, gammon very disappointed and they couldn't even do a large mixed pish poor

You know what you are getting when you eat at any Weatherspoons,but the Saltcoat is one of the better ones,the food is always quickly served even when it is busy,the drinks prices are also unbeatable.

Place was jumping,good atmosphere, staff funny, polite and friendly.looked like there was only one lady serving meals to the whole pub.tabkes were filthy.banister sticky.toilets,well never seen a mess like it. Chips were horrible and after a vusit to that toilet was put off.shame if they had more staff it be a great place.never going back.🤮

The place is a tip, tables always filthy and dishes lying everywhere. Always alf a menu as they don't have the correct amount of food ordered. Always short of staff. Seemingly they want to expand into the car park. Need to sort out issues inside first. Customer service, there is none. It's obvious all staff over worked.

This restaurant is fantastic for breakfast normally at that time in the morning it’s clean and tidy (ish) come the afternoon or dinner and everything is everywhere and just a mess! The food other than the breakfast 9/10 times isn’t right or over or under cooked I personally just come for the odd breakfast. The staff on my opinion are rather lazy (walking past tables that badly need cleared and cleaned down numerous times) such a shame as it’s in the heart of Saltcoats town.

Took an hour to get served and then, having bought a gourmet steak, there was no mushrooms or onion rings!

Its cheap its cheerful you can chat to your mates and the food isnt the worst. Its not haute cuisine but its good enough and portions are decent so no complaints.

Walked in ... dirty table which remained dirty 'i had to eat my meal with dirty crockery beside me .poor service, and tasteless food ....very disappointing See ye in another 10 year

Cheap food and drink, Scottish breakfast was good. Good location in town center.

We both visit here on a on a regular basis while in the area, the prices are not out of the way, the decor could do with upgrading the same as the toilets, we found the staff to be pleasant and attentive.

Popped in for lunch, food was OK but this review is really just to say how lovely all of the staff are. Nothing was too much trouble for then (we were a large group with lots of kids) and they were just so friendly and helpful. Thanks guys😀

Had the jacket potato loaded with the tuna mayo and it was really lovely. Tuna was prepared very well which is rare these days especially at such a low price. I won't be back anytime soon but if I was to come back anytime soon then I would get the tuna baked potato again yum yum :)

I always love coming in here to read my paper with a couple of bottles of Moretti and a pizza. Staff are brilliant.

Place is filthy walls carpet and seats skirting boards are even filthy place needs a really good deep clean people are still catching Covid keep on top of the cleaning regime please had to use a baby wipe to clean the table even menu was dirty but it was cheap and cheerful we had steak n chips it was very tasty prices are good it’s a town for tourists don’t let us down

I liked it for the cheaper beer 1.79 compares to 2.63 in Glasgow,, i found it friendly someone offered me his spare curry as he over ordered

Food took ages to come out and when it did it was all overcooked and very dried out. My jacket potato was so overcooked and shrivelled

It's a Witherspoon's, it's exactly what you would expect it to be. A vodka and diet coke was £3.33, not exactly cheap. Food was ok but that's all.

Food was luke warm. Knife and fork were dirty. Spoke to a member of staff.

No atmosphere, tables not cleared and sticky, food just about passable. Not a good experience.

We both visited this wetherspoons on the 23rd of March whilst staying in the area and not for the first time, we found the staff friendly and helpful, prices reasonable, the establishment itself to be average but reasonably clean worth a visit when in the area.

Good cheap breakfast, made quickly

Was here with family for a meal. They forgot about my fish and my 11 year old daughter food had a hear in it. Stuff changed it and said we forgot about your meal and we'll will sort it after 45min wait.

Good food and beer. I liked it. The barstaff were helpful and served us well.

Ok pub very busy when went in about 1.30pm. Tables were really messy not being cleared quick enough. Typical Spoons sevice plus side was there was a nice fire going as it was bitter cold outside. Toilets on the ground floor for a change. Probably one of the better places in Saltcoates as it is dying a death.

Came in this morning for fry up, I normally avoid here even though I’m local because of the mess of the place. Today wasn’t much different you can guarantee you’ll have to wipe down your own table before even sitting down it’s always the same! The manger is walking around with his oversized shirt tail hanging out (looks like he’s been dragged to work!) again not what your wanting to see especially from a manager? The breakfast is the ONLY reason I come back from time to time the breakfast is cheap and cheerful and delicious! However the staff let this place down badly!

Weatherspoons. Always a reliable option! Cheap bites for a reasonable price. This one in Saltcoats has a unique feel; located in what I believe was an old theatre, it got good working class vibes, is busy, with lots of older people enjoying the afternoon. Lunch time on a Saturday had a long line waiting for a table.

Just like any other Wetherspoons, half decent grub at half decent prices and well priced drinks. Good place to go for a bite to eat or to start a night out with friends. Staff are all pretty friendly too!
