Four couples booked in to the Salmon for an evening meal. The ambiance of the place is great, we were in the small room off the lounge, perfect !!!

Was delighted to see Pornstar Martini on draft here! It was a tad too vanilla for my taste but good. Bar staff were great. Wait staff were accommodating when we asked to delay our table by 30 mins to finish drinks. We enjoyed lamb shank & creamy Parmesan steak pasta specials & fish & chips. Tasty food. Reasonably priced & good sauv blanc. The only reason it’s not 5* is that service wasn’t quite as attentive as it should have been & the wine glasses were all badly water marked which just made them look grubby. Overall very good & would return if I am in the area

Osso

26/05/2019: Nice modern decor. Serving staff as they should be pleasant, efficient and unobtrusive. The menu offered several tempting dishes. The amuse bouche arincini ball was a tasty starter. The White wine was crisp and chilled. The monkfish scampi and beetroot starters went down well. The crispy lamb shank was meaty and tasty although the roast potatoes could have had a few more minutes cooking. The salmon with crab ravioli was delicious. The star was the rice pudding . Creamy rice topped with seeds and puffed rice gave great textures and the raspberry sorbet was fabulous. Would definitely head back when in Peebles.
26/10/2019: We were visiting Peebles from Edinburgh for a spot of shopping & as always booked Osso for lunch. The lunch options are so varied & great prices. This time we chose the chicken shawarma & the haddock leek & rarebit vol au vent with a side of tripe cooked fries. The food is really tasty & great value for money. Service is efficient from a lovely caring team. Definitely recommend but book before you go.

The Townhouse

04/06/2019: Melrose has a lot of eating establishments to choose from so we opted for the Townhouse as I had been there a few months ago for a funeral and it seemed nice.
01/06/2019: Had a dinner with friends at the Townhouse. We has a fantastic 3 course dinner. Great Service. The lamb was one of the best meals I have ever tasted. The rhubarb creme brûlée was amazing. Great atmosphere. A great evening out.
