Eggs Benedict on cheese scone, tea & coffee - scone was a little dense and sauce could have been hotter.

Really does it take 14 minutes to be acknowledged, only 1 persons ahead of me! Then a further 5 minutes to be served. As I had to wait, I noticed, guy paid for 2 coffees, only received 1 had to come and ask for 2nd. One stuff member on the phone whole time I waited and others walk out due to long wait. The cakes we bought were delicious but the service puts me off coming back! Sorry sort your customers service out!

After hearing the rumours for years we finally ate here... and it didn't disappoint... make sure you're hungry when you go!

It’s my first visit to this amazing cafe. And it will be the first of many visits again. Unbeatable food and the menu is so vast. Hard to choose. Totally a 10/10 place to visit. Thank you ladies ❤️❤️❤️

Called in with my daughter I didn't book a table only waited a few minutes to get a table service excellent staff very friendly food excellent we opted for soup sandwich and cake deal couldn't fault anything well worth the money and visit we will be back

We visited for lunch on Monday 26th February 2024. Note you will need to book ahead. The choice of food and drink is extensive. We opted for the £12.50 pp 'special (Mon-Thurs only), which we thought would be perfect for a 'light' lunch, described as a small cup of soup, small sandwich and any 'Foxy' cake. We couldn't believe our eyes when it arrived, and genuinely thought they had got our order mixed up with another. A large cappuccino size cup of delicious home-made soup, accompanied by a massive sandwich each, and cake still to come! Soup was accompanied also by containers of croutons. As expected, we managed the soup and half the sandwich, with the very friendly waitress boxing our left over sandwiches and also the delicious cakes. We had them later in the day. This was absolutely fantastic value for money, and top rate food (we also purchased seperate coffees, which were also very good). TOTALLY RECOMMEND! Everything else being served also looked lovely.

Delicious pies and cakes. Have only had food to take away - only a couple of tables inside - but makes for a great picnic. Offers on certain days.

My friends and I had afternoon tea here last weekend. The food was amazing. Far too much to eat in one go so we all had takeaway boxes of cake with us when we left. The service was great and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a special afternoon out with friends or family.

Great place for afternoon tea. Been a few times now but to their other cafés. Portion sizes are big but absolutely delicious. There is parking along the street outside however its quite limited. There is parking elsewhere around Felton though.

Beautiful place, amazing food, excellent service. Definitely try one of their combination dishes, we had soup, with pie and a melt. More than enough for anyone. Could not fault.

The food served at the running fox is second to none, the corn beef pie portion is very large and the cakes are a large portion as well. To visit the running fox once a week is like being a child in a sweetshop

Had a voucher to use so we went for lunch here. We both had the special lentil soup, sarnie and cake. Soup delicious. Exceptional value. Staff are so very friendly and helpful. Always a great experience here.

Visited twice during our stay in Felton last week. First for afternoon coffee and cakes and then a full breakfast on the morning of our departure (Five of us) This place is brilliant. The drinks and food are of the highest quality and the decour lovely. Daisy and her team deserve a medal for the effort they put in... thank you Daisy. We are already thinking of returning to Felton for a spring break, the Running Fox would definately be high on our visit list next time round. A five star establishment and staff!

Poor service today at Felton, which has never been a problem in the past food was lovely as usual, but we waited so long to have plates cleared and were never asked if we wanted anything else. We got a takeout instead as tea had gone cold .

Took my 92 year old mother for afternoon tea, staff were lovely with her and food was amazing as ever, packed up what we couldn't eat and my mother and her neighbour enjoyed more treats later that day. Thank you 😊

This is my first visit to the Running Fox at Felton. We had the £12.50 special, which is, soup, sandwich and a cake. Drinks you pay for separately. The parsnip soup was delicious as was my coronation chicken sandwich & the foxy banoffee really got on your mouth. 😊.. The staff are super friendly and polite. I will definitely be back again.

Amazing afternoon tea! The cherry and chocolate cheesecake was my favourite. Portions are huge. I’m a big eater and even struggled to finish my cake and had to take my scone home, so good value for money. I love how you choose what you want, rather than having to get the same usual afternoon tea stuff. Also unlimited tea or coffee, tea was really nice.

Very cosy atmosphere & relaxing background music.Nice & clean all round. Plenty to choose from the menu hot & cold. Food is REALLY tasty with generous portions served. Staff are really friendly & knowledgeable about the food they serve so definitely worth a visit for some great grub. If your driving you have to park around the corner on the street as there’s no parking unfortunately.

What a lovely little place this is. Why have we not found this place before now. Gentleman who served us was very helpful and made us feel at home. Food was served nicely and we went for afternoon tea, (was told I'd struggle to eat it all... he underestimated my eating ability haha) the wife took a doggy bag home though for later. Paid the bill and went fast or I could have spent a fortune after looking in the food display cabinet!! We will be back 👍

Fantastic experience and great quality food, we had bacon sandwiches on the freshest bread I have ever tasted followed by cake which was delicious!

My daughters took me here for afternoon tea as a birthday treat. There were 3 adults and two children, as soon as the lady serving saw the kids she was off. She made it very difficult about where to place the high chair and made my daughter feel very awkward. All other customers were offered a top up of coffee and tea but we had to ask, after repeatedly being ‘overlooked’. The food was amazing but we did not feel welcome and the service, most definitely was not friendly. Dogs are welcome but not children apparently.

Lovely place. It certainly felt like an important part of the community with people calling in to buy newspapers as well as food to take away. The food was very tasty, I had soup and a sandwich. The soup was very filling, and the sandwich was as described a 'door stop' and satisfying. There was no sense of being rushed, and I actually stated longer than planned and had a cake and hot chocolate. The staff were welcoming, and the service was good considering the kitchen was preparing food for table orders and walking/take away orders. Highly recommend visiting. I also bought food to bring home for my Son.

Delicious food. We had fresh croissants and granola/yoghurt with fresh fruit. Huge portions. Staff were all lovely. Went to another branch the day before for the cooked breakfast. Equally as good (food and staff) but did prefer the croissants/fruit.

I had booked a table for my husbands birthday but as our baby wasn’t 100% we decided to do it as takeaway instead. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. We are vegan and the options were great - food was excellent! Recommend!!

This lovely little cafe and bakery on the outskirts of Felton serves the most amazing tasty and huge breakfasts. We had a full English and a Foxy scone. We sat outside with the dog and enjoyed the sunshine. I’m assuming the remainder of the menu is just as tasty. Certainly the cakes and pastries looked delicious.

Stood in a queue for 25 minutes. One person serving in the shop and she was serving outside aswell. Lots of staff seemed to be in back . Girl who served me was very nice. I ordered 3 cakes. She brought the 2 cream cakes in the same box I did ask for them to be put in separate boxes as partner is illergic to banana s. Cakes were OK unfortunately would not go back.

It’s an old saying in Northumberland but it’s true. I ordered the vegan breakfast and I must stop eating the bread first as I cannot finish it. But excellent.

We arrived at half 4 on a Monday for a coffee and a cake. The cakes were delicious and the service excellent. Also bought a couple of local products, eggs and chutney. All of the quiches, pies and cakes looked amazing, just wish I had more room at the time!!

This lovely little artisan cafe is lovely for sandwiches/ soups/ pies/ quiche and cakes! Yesterday I had the soup which was so delicious I bought a portion to take home! Staff are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. It is situated in an idyllic setting also. We go for special occasions mostly but I love it!

We often eat at other Running Fox cafes. I wanted to make a nostalgic trip to the RF at Felton. I went there years ago with my father, just after my mother had died. Knowing it was virtually impossible to get a seat if you just turn up I booked a table for breakfast. The food was good, the service was terrible. We were made to feel as though we were an imposition. The waitress all but threw our plates of food at us. I’ve heard of ‘bring your whole self to work’ but it doesn’t generally include bringing your bad temper with you. I genuinely wondered if she had spit in our food, her attitude was so unpleasant.

Had afternoon tea here for a birthday. One gluten free and the rest regular. I don’t think I’ve ever had an experience where the gluten free bread was actually nicer than the regular bread! Luckily they had a loaf that I could buy and take home but they did say they usually need 24 hours notice. Food was all delicious and the girls serving were just lovely. We will be back.

Booked an afternoon tea with friends for our anniversary and it was glorious! The place itself is beautiful tucked away in Northumberland. Staff were super friendly. Plenty of choices and it was all gorgeous. Well presented food and just delicious! We agreed we have to try out all the locations if this one is anything to go by.

Always lovely food here. It is pricey and the clientele are a bit posh, but it's worth it. This time I had a bacon, brie and cranberry doorstop melt. Absolutely tons of cheese and bacon on it.

Visited here on the 7th of July for my boyfriends birthday and Wow. Can’t begin to describe how amazing it was. The afternoon tea is very reasonably priced and there was a huge selection of sandwiches pies and cakes, as well as a scone and hot drinks all included in the price (though we did opt for pinot). The chicken bacon avocado and chili jam sandwich was to die for as was my boyfriend’s sausage chutney and cheese sandwich. We both had the steak pie which was divine. The scones were warm as if they were fresh out the oven and the blueberry cheesecake was to die for and the banoffee pie was lovely. The service was 5/5 and we enjoyed it so much we popped back the next day to try the chipotle sausage role which was also incredible. We shall be back! Thank you ladies x

Called in to see what they had and take-away. Staff were friendly & helpful. All produce looked homemade and well presented. Very busy.

A gift from family. Can't fault it, great service,the breakfast was delicious. Smashed avocado on sourdough and smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. You get what you pay for and it was worth it. Oh and the grandchildren loved the chocolate brownie we got them.

Excellent light lunch, however it was very busy, so a bit of a wait for service. Worth it though.

Excellent coffee and cake before a good walk with our dogs. Returned for cuppa afterwards. Bought an uncut freshly baked loaf and 2 pieces of quiche to take away with us. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

This is THE place to go for Afternoon tea! The portions are absolutely huge, service is second to none and very friendly staff. Cannot rate this place highly enough. Although be warned - they are exceptionally busy so always book up weeks in advance!

Met friends for afternoon tea and was so impressed. A great choice of sandwiches made to order, a choice of pie or quiche, fruit or cheese scone and then your choice of tray bake or cake. Very large portions and they have boxes readily available for you to take what you can't eat away. Staff very pleasant & the cafe itself is nicely decorated and welcoming. I had a coronation chicken sandwich which was lovely. Large chunks of chicken in fresh bread. I ate half of my pie-minced beef as it was a large slab. The scone was warm and absolutely delicious. My banoffi pie is in the fridge as I still feel stuffed! 😂 😋

An absolutely faultless visit to The Running Fox in Felton. From minute one, we were made to feel like a valued customer thanks to the friendly and attentive staff. We booked in advance (which is advisable I think). The coffee was tremendous as per usual....

Lunch was delicious and plentiful. Staff were very helpful and pleasant in a rather cosy old-school venue.

We visited the day after Mother's Day, (as I was working), I loved the whole set up, choices - and food was amazing - we still ended up taking some home! Our server (so sorry, I didn't catch her name...Longhoughton restaurant, lady late 40's? short, light auburn hair with slight wave? She was so knowledgeable regarding my Mam's coconut allergy - as some places have replaced Palm Oil with Coconut Oil in their desserts/ice creams, so we have to be especially careful dining out. Called in for lunch. A very pleasant looking shop/cafe with home made food that looked quite nice. As you enter, there is a shop area on the right and a cafe area on the left with 4/5 tables. One table was occupied: the others were empty. We sat down at one of the tables and, whilst serving staff floated around, we waited for 15 minutes for someone to bring a menu. When no-one did, we asked one of the staff if we could have a menu. One was brought, plus cutlery and serviettes. For a further 15 minutes, the serving staff did more floating around but no-one came to ask if we would like to order despite us trying to catch their eye. By this time, the couple having lunch had left and one more table was occupied - they were also waiting to be served. So it's not as though the staff were rushed off their feet. Eventually, we just gave up and left. Clearly a business that isn't remotely interested in doing what cafes should do - serve their customers

I was here on Sunday at 1pm with my sisters, daughter and nieces 🥰 we always have such an amazing time when we visit. The staff on Sunday were absolutely fab and made sure we were well looked after (I didn't get the names) The afternoon tea is always so amazing but the egg mayo sandwich is the best I've ever had 😊 We will definitely will be back and 1000% recommend to everyone 😀
