It was a sunny day so we sat outside. The cafe we very busy but the service was slick and friendly. I had a jacket potato cooked to perfection and OH had a hot dog. We even managed to squeeze in a pud. Not that we were hungry but the selection looked so delicious. And didn't disappoint. Can definitely understand why it was the busiest cafe along the street.

I popped into the Rumbling Tum today for a light lunch. Latte and a chicken mayonnaise filled roll. Both were outstanding. The owner, when finding me an outside table said to bear with them as due to unforeseen circumstances they were short staffed. Well if she hadn’t told me I would have been none the wiser as the service was nothing but 100% professional and polite. It was obvious that they were busy however all the staff I saw were acting in an extremely calm and professional manner. I feel I didn’t wait any longer than normal for service and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending The Rumbling Tum if your visiting Moffat. A great looking selection of both hot and cold offerings and everything I saw go by looked fresh and appetising. A real gem in a lovely town. Well done Rumbling Tum.

Stopped in Moffat for lunch and definitely picked the wrong place here.Smells like a greasy spoon, food is not great at all. Ordered one of the burgers on special, served in a morning roll and tastes like it had been reheated 10 times.Even the chips were rotten.Noone comes to the table to ask how your food is, on leaving the server did ask how it was. We said it wasn't nice, he says "ok".Crap.

Went in for a snack, daughter has a portion of chips. Undercooked and anemic looking. She left nearly all of them. I had a roll with sausage, ok but no butter offered pretty ordinary. Greg’s has better quality and less than 1/2 the price.Gents toilet a bit rundown with cracked tiles.Mentioned the chips when paying and just got an “oh sorry”.We wouldn’t return.

Ate here quite a few times, but this would be our last! Ordered 2 tuna mozzarella panni's and an egg and bacon roll. Was quite busy and waited about 45 mins. While waiting, noticed none of the menu's were sanitised after each customer. Neither was the pen that was used for track and trace. Vinegar bottle took from one customer to another with out been sanitised.Eventually got our sandwiches, to our disappointment, no tuna in the panni, instead it was tomato! Far too much tomato making it soggy! And the egg and bacon roll was swimming in grease, just dripped from the roll. When we went to pay the bill, mentioned it to the gentleman at the till to be told its usually him that does that!Such a shame as it used to be such a lovely place to eat.

Just wanted a hot drink and a small bite to eat. Lucky enough to get a table outside then you order inside. A bit late in the day (about 4.30pm) but still a few sweet options. Gluten free options were limited but they did have a fruit scone. Hot chocolate was nice but very small for the price. Can't really comment on the interior. Staff were friendly and we were asked for contact & trace details.

Seen to be covid friendly but we got the last available table. As we were shown to it another customer was commenting to someone how easy it was to reach. Service slow but it was lunchtime, i would rather queue outside and there be less tables. We copped for a table where everyone passes closely going to the toilets. Cornish pasty and mushy peas no mint sauce available is a big let down. I chose soup and was amazed how crammed with veg it was but as someone who cooks with salt and adds if neccesary i found 2 spoonfuls was the best i could do of the soup, totally inedible,i dud mention it on the way out but no offer of deduction. In all the cup of tea was the best so never bothered with the cakes and wont bother going back either

Pancakes or should I say 'pancake', was disappointing, probably bought in, nothing special, bacon was nice, but quite hard. Popped into the Rumblin Tum with my partner for a quick coffee and a roll and bacon. The latte, whilst beautifully presented in a a tall glass cup lacked any flavour. It just tasted like warm milk as very little coffee had been used to make it. The bacon roll was of equally poor quality as the bacon had either been microwaved to ensure it met the consistency of chewy leather or had been cooked hours before and left to dehydrate in the oven. The front of the cafe as you go in the door has a relatively modern feel until you walk about 6 metres in and you are met with a time warp in terms of the outdated 1970's decor. The cafe looks good from the outside but really disappoints on the inside.

The young waiting staff were pleasant and welcoming. The French Onion soup was good but, and to my mind this is a 'big but', I ordered the cod goujons off the Special Menu and was treated to fish fingers instead. Certainly not worth the £6.95 charged. They were very unappetising so I complained and sent it back. I was then told by the rather argumentative lady boss that the chef had run out of goujons as they had been very busy prior to me entering their which was why they had not taken it off the menu. No time. When I asked why they had not forewarned me and given me the opportunity to change my order, I was accused of being awkward. My friend was enjoying his meal and I was not charged for the meal but I ended up with the eponymous rumbling tum as my appetite had been ruined by her attitude and lack of concern. Moffat can be busy but I must admit I won't be adding to its visitors again unless customer care training is introduced.

My friend and I have visited this establishment on several occasions over the past 5 years. It has always been a good stop off on our travels. This visit the service was good as always, the food was average, however there was a long dark hair in my friends dinner, which he pointed out to the waiter and got an apology. There was no offer of a fresh dinner.

My mum and I called in here today on our way to Lockerbie. What a lovely welcoming and friendly cafe. We had my mum's little Bichon Frise with us and she was made very welcome and behaved impeccably especially when the lovely, polite and efficient young lad who served told us his Bichon wouldn't! We had two delicious plain scones which were fresh and light. The coffee was perfect and my mum had a wee pot of Earl Grey. The cafe was immaculate as were the tables and the crockery. The cakes and tray bakes looked delicious as did the various meals we saw being served. We both had to use the facilities and they were also immaculately clean. I also noticed the cafe provided spare nappies should they be required. I did think that was a very thoughtful touch. We will definitely call back in the summer. This was my mum's first visit to Moffat and she was very impressed with the town but I think the locals and the service helped her make the decision. A lovely establishment with welcoming and efficient staff and excellent scones.

My wife and I buy from this establishment on a regular basis and find them hard to beat, the quality of their products are second to none. Well done to all concerned

Really disappointing. Firstly the menu on the website is very different from the menu we ended up being given. The room is freezing so we ended up ordering a cup of tea with the meal just to try and
