Fantastic bar & the staff are superb

I love this place. It's an absolute gem in my neighborhood. Food is next level. Love the beer garden but they gig bar prices downstairs...ooowee 😆

Came here for some entertainment, such an amazing night! Delicious drinks and great atmosphere, some really interesting drag acts, will definitely be back.

Had booked a birthday table for 10 and my partner had made a mix up and made it for food instead of drinks. Had paid a deposit. We were planning to be in at 8pm and drink for the night and spend a lot. We called and were honest to see if they could even reserve a bit in the bar area but were told the owners want to cancel the booking incase they can get someone in for food and couldn’t offer us anything. Just bad service. There’s lots of other bars in the area that are far more accommodating.

Excellent traditional Caribbean food with a few twists, some new takes on tried and tested classics, decent beer selection and obvs big on their rum. Try the Haggis bon-bons, saltfish fritters, Jamaican stout, the mac and cheese, and goat curry. Also very near to train stations, decent pubs, and queen's park. their venue is cool too

The food here is absolutely delicious. They have a hot rum punch which is amazing 🤩. The service was very good. The background music was brilliant. It was our first visit there and I googled Caribbean restaurants in Glasgow and this came up, and none of us were disappointed. If we ever go to Glasgow again, I will definitely be eating there. The food is reasonably priced and tastes so good.

Glitch 41 is was awesome. Great vibes and music. They just need a bit better beer selection in the downstairs area but other than that class Venue!

Fantastic gem on Pollokshaws road, close to Queens Park as well as many other local amenities. I had the Doubles, was well made and seasoned, to the point where I took away all the leftovers I could! The Guinness, whilst not as good as in Ireland but still really good. Only issue I had was the increasing atmospheric volume as the day went on, and that's to be expected, just makes it a little difficult to stay any longer as someone with sensory issues! Everyone should absolutely go here at least once!!!

Had a lovely time here for a couple of drinks with a friend! It gets busy, so book a table if you want food! Great selection of rum! But, I wouldn’t recommend the hot rum punch, that was the only disappointment.

I write maximum one review a year - thats how rarely I’m compelled to write one… but the rum shack is my favourite venue of all time. The staff are great, food is tasty and the best of all… the live music. What a special music scene is going on in Glasgow and Rum Shack is the best venue for it to shine. Ive been coming for open mics, a few gigs, Glitch 41 nights and it has been such a privilege to watch this outrageous, authentic, talented collective do its thing. Gutted to be leaving Glasgow to move down south again, in no small part due to the thought of losing Rum Shack from my regular life. One more gig on Tuesday night though 🙌🏾

Being from Barbados now living in Scotland we wanted to enjoy some Caribbean food...27th Oct was our 1st time visiting as my husband suggested based off a recommendation..Ideally located with it being merely 2 minutes walk from the train station Staff gave us a hearty welcome and that set the tone for the night..hostess was very professional and made my Nojito specially to accommodate my Nut allergy 👏🏾 Food was HOT and FRESH...and though I wished to see at least 1 Bajan dish on the menu,we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will DEFINITELY be back A must visit!

Staff were good even if you had to get their attention for another drink,food was good although fries could be slightly more fried,atmosphere was spot on and they need to start selling tshirts like the one on the wall I couldn't buy😁

The patties are incredible! If you like a bit of spice, rum cocktails, great service and some good music then you’ve got to visit here.

Whether you are a veggie or a meat eater, you will definitely love the cooking as long as you're ok with spices 😅 cocktails are great and the staff is easy going.

Jerk chicken burger and sweet potato fries great- service in this place is the best. Will return.

The atmosphere and staff were fine. The food was not. There were 5 of us eating and it took 50 minutes for us to receive all the food, even though we ordered at the same time at the bar. 3 people had the chicken and there was blood on the bone of all of it. The pork belly was not crispy but rather chewy and tough. I'd possibly go back for a drink but not for food.

Great choice of rums, delicious food, although they scrapped the rum menu. Why? How will I take people over now to taste our way all the way up to the delicious rocket fuel named Pineapple Grenade? Great vibe in the Rum Shack.Feel it is suitable for ages.I'm in my sixties another friend seventy and two other friends forty and early fifties.

Great place, delicious food with massive portions. Weird disparity of great barstaff and disinterested ones but overall good, however there was no chance of asking any more detail on the '100' runs they had with the two guys we first had. (1 kid outta his depth with everything,the other kinda just messing about maybe he was finished and just hanging around.) Pretty good overall really enjoyed it Maybe stepping on a landmine here but (& I guess it's maybe not totally necessary) there wasn't anyone of a Caribbean background working in this Caribbean themed bar so it's not exactly the most 'authentic' I guess (although it's not like I know who owns it or maybe they all had the day off) but like I said the food was fantastic.

We had a selection of starters rather than going for main courses and everything was delicious and very generous. Great place!

Good bar food followed by a banging night of live drumming and dj's playing Reggae and Soca. Dance heaven. Vibey little venue. Loved it.

Friendliest staff, generous portions and good vibes. The beer garden was lovely and the music wasn't too loud. Huge selection of rums, so if you're a fan definitely pay them a visit! We had the fish balls & patties for starters and jerk chicken for mains. Both were amazing and not too spicy or overpowering, just right!

Very flavorful food and delicious cocktails. We loved the goat curry, definitely get a side of the homemade hot sauce with it. Pictures is the chicken brown down, which was also good. Great rum selection and the Hotel Nacional was a fantastic drink. Our servers were awesome and super friendly.

Great bar, decent garden especially when the sun shines ☀️ Cocktails are 10/10. Bit strict on the table service, even though we’re post covid but guess it’s up to them how the choose to run the joint.

Desperate for business. Can't even open during the day. No disabled toilet access, it reaks of dampness and hopefully it doesn't fall into the railway track. Complete rip-off.

Food and Rum selection outstanding. However as we visited on a Saturday night it was roughly the volume of a jumbo jet at take off. Maybe visit at less busy times if you want to hear anything from your dining partners

Chill vibes and attentive staff. Accra was delish and different. Saw Sabrina Francis and did the rum tasting which was an experience. Scottish rum, lots to unpack there.

Great food and service and general joyous vibe - try the goat curry. Would have given 5 stars but for very low lighting had to use phone torch to read menu and couldn't really see food.

Great Carribbean food, great service, and a lovely atmospheric little pub. Music, (I think) 4 nights a week, and was recently host to an impromptu performance by Lewis Capaldi! Thankfully, I'm a local, so it's easy to drop in! Well worth a visit even if you're not local though.

Great food as usual. It was quite busy for a Monday night. Try the salt fish balls as a starter if you want a true taste of the Caribbean. Lucked out as they had Banks Beer 🍺

The food was great...the owner did us a huge favor by doing takeaways on a day they don't do takeaways. Wished I could have gotten the doubles. Next time I'm in Glasglow I'll definitely dine in this place.

We booked a table for 9pm and when we arrived we asked if it was okay that we were only here for drinks. The waitress who showed us to our table was great and said this was no problem at all and she’d be back to take our orders. Shortly after she left another member of staff came over to the table and stated that because we booked a table we needed to order food. We apologised and said we didn’t realise this. He then began to lecture us on how we shouldn’t have booked a table if we weren’t eating. We offered to leave the table as there was several around us empty however he continued to pull us over the coals for booking. This set the tone for the evening and as a large group all coming to spend money we were shocked at how we were spoken to by this member of staff. He also stated the kitchen shuts in 8 minutes - hardly enough time to order food if we were eating. All other members of staff were fabulous and attentive (and also all stated there was no issues with only ordering drinks) but unfortunately this one man and his attitude put us off going here ever again.

Great food, friendly staff and tasty drinks (with special £6 cocktail offers from sunday to tuesday - the "Southside Sunshine" tastes phenomenal). Huge rum selection (around 100) - definitely try the "Dark Matter", a local Scottish rum, if you like slightly sweet and cinnamony drinks.

We spent two nights in Glasgow. Ended up eating here both evenings. The food was distinctive and tastes brilliant. Great both for meat lovers and vegans/vegetarians. Service was excellent. The drinks were very good, too. The usuals off the tap, very neat house cocktails and a staggering rum menu. Personal recommendation 1: Firebeer. That was love at first the sip. Pesonal recommendation 2: Spicy house sauce - really is spicy and amazing if you love that kinda stuff. Otherwise, treat with caution.

Great food, amazing selection of rums. We spend two nights in Glasgow and decided to come here both evenings, due to the quality of food, drinks and service.

HUGE portions. I had the pork belly, excellent fat to meat ratio and perfectly crispy edges. Seasoned really well and a great choice of drinks to have with it, Ill definitely go back to try other things on the menu.

Finally ate here after drinking here a few times only to be let down by the food being bland. Ordered the king prawns and jerk pork which tasted like they had been reheated. On a different night this menu would have been great but I felt really let down by the quality, especially at the price.

Rated 4 might change later ( obvsly higher ) Good ambience Nice location Even Good if you like live music and open mic. Lucky to witness Lewis capaldi surprise performance here.

Took 45 minutes to get a drink as non-negotiable table service and was busy. Can't blame staff who were nice but can't help but think management strategy is lacking. Food was alright - vegan curry was nice but other stuff was basic. It's a chilled venue but wouldn't be hard to make it a better one

- Beer garden is a lovely place to sit - The music in the beer garden is set at an appropriate volume to provide nice chill background noise but still allow conversation - Staff lacked knowledge of the drinks menu - Salt fish starter was the start of the show - Drinks were quite nice but lacking that bit of va va voom - Nice blue plates - I probably won’t be back because I don’t live in Glasgow. My friends who live in Glasgow will probably be back.

Been a fan of this place for many years but this afternoon I was so disappointed No vibe at all and a covid style attitude of allocation of tables and table service which completely killed the atmosphere which was previously there Visited several bars in the west end today and all had the warmth and atmosphere Rum Shack lacked .

Chilled music great food, attentive and friendly staff. Loving the service and the saltfish is great. No idea how authentic the food is but it's something different and delicious. So many Rums, so little time. This place is a gem.

Well, what can I say? It was outstanding. Service was great. The cocktails and rum were exceptional. The salt fish was out of the world and the goat curry was to die for, cooked to absolute perfection.

Great selection of rums and truly great good. I loved the jerk chicken starter and my partner's spicy coconut prawns were superb. I had the jerk pork belly and my partner raved about the Goat curry. The staff were great, very friendly giving the place a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Good selection of rum but the service was a little slow, but the staff were very pleasant, will be going back to try the Bajan fish cakes
