I have not been here for long time but today was lovely a woman on her own I walked in lovely atmosphere no strange looks bar staff lovely food menu looked great but couldn't stay for meal a great smoke area even though I don't smoke you could sit comfortably with friends that do over all great pub Christine wood

Amazing! The food was great value and delicious, better than many restaurants, beautifully presented. My husband's stake was sublime. The atmosphere and decor are warm and cosy. The staff is chill and very attentive. We already said we'll have to visit again.

We had a most delicious Sunday lunch here, our hostess was most welcoming and the young staff couldn't have been more attentive. We were served quickly, without being rushed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Royal Oak 😊

We visited for a drink - unfortunately dogs aren't allowed inside but there is a covered outdoor area with heaters.

We had a meal on Saturday night (7th Oct 23) we all had something of the chefs specials board and the food was absolutely incredible!! The staff we're extremely polite and lovely, the landlord went above and beyond for us. Highly recommended this pub, you won't be disappointed!! Thank you for being so kind and lovely and making our weekend perfect.

A great pub just off the A1, the Sunday roast was lovely with more veg than you can eat, a very nice amount of meat with each meal and all very good quality cooked well. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend and if you are on the A1 its only a couple of minutes drive off with much better food than you are going to get in a services.

Went for midweek evening meal for 2. Brought our dog with us which meant we had to eat in the beer garden. Food was good, reasonable sized portion. Service was quick. Difficult to comment on atmosphere as we weren't really in it! Would recommend if in the area and want to bring your dog with you

Had a couple of pints of banks amber really good , also had steak &Guinness pie mash and peas absolutely yum couldn't fault it best pie I've had for a long time.

Called in for Sunday lunch on the off-chance of getting a table. Although very busy, staff were welcoming and accommodating. We had a superb meal and would recommend this venue but would advise pre-booking!.

We cake down for a horse show at Arena UK and decided to find a nice pub We telephoned to make sure they could accommodate us and our little horse box. The lady on the phone was really friendly and able to tell my fussy veggie mum what her options were This is a really pretty pub, it has kirb appeal and the outside area is very well thought out, with an outside bar area and little gazebos above tables l We were seated in a little snug area we noticed that there were over 18 areas which was a nice touch The food was absolutely delicious! Huge portions with yummy chips and salad The onion rings were massive and very tasty indeed As you will see the dessert was incredible, we were full so shared it Toilets were clean and well maintained Waitresses were very friendly and attentive Defo check this place out!

Had a wonderful meal with my family, really generous dishes for a great price. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous, great atmosphere, so much work gone into making the place welcoming, feels very safe as well.

Great village pub. An ideal stop off on the A1. Food is very good we had Sunday dinner. Staff and beer also excellent. Highly recommended. Book if you can. It gets busy at times.

Excellent meal at a lovely village pub which has lovely staff (nothing was too much trouble) and the prices were reasonable as well. Great place. We're not local but will be back again. This was our 4th visit in 4 years and it's been like this on every occasion.

What a lovely pub. Stopped for lunch on long journey south as so close to A1. Great food, lovely staff and every attention to detail. Will definitely visit again on next trip

Highly overrated. Food was ok, nothing more. If you visit with children you will be made to feel very unwelcome.

Since they altered it I have not been. A friend and I went over one when it reopened. And couple sat outside as we were going in and they turned to us and don't think we would be welcome in the pub. So we walked away and l was born in the village.

Food and service is outstanding. Highly recommend. I've taken my dad on various occasions when he comes to help with the build of our VW Eternity Campervans. We normally have Pie a Chips but today was a sunday menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the Chicken Fillet, my dad had a massive plate of Scampi. It looked lovely.

Staff are friendly and it's my favourite pub in Long Bennington. Often stop off after work for a coffee or cold beverage. They've also got a lovely beer garden.
