Fuimos sólo para el desayuno, pero de quedarnos más dìas seguramente hubiéramos vuelto. La ambientación, la amabilidad y por supuesto el menú, hicieron de nuestra experiencia un momento muy agradable.

Maravilloso y unico. Tradicional, la atencion es propia, uno retira dn la barra su pedido yvlo lleva su mesa.

We had all day to explore Edinburgh so after our castle tour we strolled down the Royal Mile looking for a great place to eat. So many choices and we opted to try the Royal Mile tavern. It was just filling up with lunch crowd. Although short staffed, the bartender managed to keep all the tables hoppin. I got a very yummy bangers and mash. My wife got chicken pot pie which was good, but after I gave her a bite of my lunch, she wished she got the bangers and mash. Overall a nice place to eat.

Came here for dinner in the middle of the week. The atmosphere was spot on . Food was great and the music was perfect. Even my teenagers relaxed enough to talk with us

Amidst a plethora of changing, faddy food places in a tourist hot spot, the Royal still stands out as a traditional- feeling howff, serving decent food, at fair prices in a warm atmosphere. It may be part of a chain these days, but most are,and this place still has the right mix of cheery banter and good vittles!

The staff was very friendly, but over all the service was not great. We walked in and were seated right away, but then service after that was very slow. The food on the other hand was delicious! The waiter recommended the highland chicken, which I loved. They had plenty of vegetarian options and alternatives available, which was great for my friend.

I went for macaroni cheese big mistake. Tasteless def not worth the money plus garlic bread accompaniment was burnt. Never again. Left most of it and waitress said she would let the kitchen staff know - big deal. My partner had fish and chips again a big let down but he ate it as he was hungry. Would never eat t here again

Nous y sommes allés plusieurs fois, un midi pour déjeuner, service agréable et attentionné, plats proposés typique de la région et bonne bière. Un soir, pour l'ambiance avec live music super et grosse ambiance. Si vous ne devez qu'un pub, faites celui-ci sans hésitation

We ate here twice during our weekend stay in Edinburgh. The food was fantastic for what is quite an unassuming looking pub on the inside. Granted the feasting platter we shared on our first visit didn’t look very elegant, but everything was cooked well and it was just what we needed after arriving in the city from London. We returned for dinner before flying home, with my wife enjoying the bangers and mash in a giant Yorkshire pudding, while I had the Highland chicken stuffed with haggis, which was absolutely scrummy. Staff were very friendly on the whole, and the prices reasonable for the quality of both food and drink.

Came to the pub on a trip to edinburgh a couple of years ago and returned this weekend with my partner. We had a great time - there’s lovely drinks and atmosphere in the pub and the food is delicious.

On a cold, wet January day I would recommend the Mac and Cheese and messy hot dog. The best warming, comfort food ever! The staff and their service are exceptional; the pub itself is lovely and welcoming. Visit this pub.
