The Rose in Dartford

I visited my friend and she took me to her local pub . Very nice pub. Superb food and service. I love atmosphere over there. Very nice beer garden. Close to station. When in this area you must go there. Beer is spot on.Definitely I will come back.

Went for the 1st time sunday lunch with friends and i will 100% be returning. The dinner was amazing. so fresh and lots of it !! service was table service due to the new rules but staff were so attentive and always on hand if you needed anything. Had such a lovely day. facilities clean and well sanitised.

Had a lovely roast with my partner very impressed with the service and the food thank you so much I had the onion soup and the beef and my partner had the lamb we were both very happy with every thing the garden was perfect the sun was out which made it all a 10star meal

Sunday Roast We came here for the first time this Sunday, was blown away by the quality of the food. Really lovely pub. Very welcoming and very reasonable. Would definitely come here again.

I have never been here before we went with my brother his wife his two year old who looks more like a four year old and friend’s with their children. Very organised phone number/numbers taken for the just in case need to contact and trace, plenty of hand sanitiser in obvious places. The pub has been updated and modern the gardens are a good size and well laid out not close to anyone table, A good and thoughtful layout. Staff very welcoming and very pleasant considering there was 4 children and all boys but enough space for them to run around without being close to other people enjoying their day in the sun. The gardens are lovely to sit outside in the September sunshine, spent the day being served and eating and drinking, by good attentive staff. Food good, pub food at a reasonable price, we got a train back to Bexley afterwards and then home. Many thanks Rose Pub, we will be back.

Went with a friend for a meal pre-covid and was absolutely stunned at the attitude of the staff. No idea how this place stays open if they are this consistently rude to customers.

The best afternoon tea thanks to the Rose. I ordered it for my mum & dad for a Father’s Day treat and wow they didn’t disappoint, I have never seen my dad enjoy a tea so much. Perfect touch was the home made sausage rolls & quiche as well as the well filled sandwiches much better then Iv had at other teas, it was so nice to have all home made scones and the cake choice was great esp the carrot cake and my dad loved the profiteroles. There was the option of delivery or collection, I opted to collect and service was great and the tea well packaged and placed in my car. Thank you to the Rose will def order again great value for money.

Came to The Rose for a Sunday roast and it was probably the best meal I've eaten in any pub anywhere in the country. The quality of the food as well as the staff was absolutely slot on. Will be going back there to eat again without a doubt.

I was recommended to go here for a meal bu friends. Asked at the bar for a menu, staff so rude I and my friend left immediately. Really no need to speak to anyone the way I was spoken to.

The best roast dinner for miles..Always generous servings,the whole meal and pudding cooked to perfection and value for money..always a warm welcome and great atmosphere..so great that you need to book in advance as it gets busy as so popular..

Just got home from afternoon tea at the Rose (5 ladies with 3 babies/toddlers) & had to write a review straight away as the food & service is just excellent. We had sandwiches, the most delicious sausage rolls, quiche, scones, 4 types of cake & obviously pots of tea. Oh & a bottle of Prosecco! For £15 each I think this is great value as it was all freshly homemade & delicious. The pub is very family friendly & always welcome the kids. Thank you Ange & Tracy we will book again soon xPs - the portions are huge we have all come home with a takeaway cake box for later

We had to wait quite a while as it was a busy Saturday lunchtime but the food was lovely when it arrived & we got free coffee to make up for the delay. It is normal pub food but well cooked & presented with lovely helpful staff. Unusually there are lots of veggie options - be warned that the vegetarian menu is on a separate board - at first I thought there weren't any.

Popped into this lovely looking pub as was passing through dartford , good beer and food selection available, but after waiting 7mins to be served , and listen to the local trash sitting behind me talking about how many drugs they had taken , I was greeted by a barmaid in her late 50s that was rude and blunt and didn’t say please or thank you , so I would stay clear of this pub , never judge a book by its cover !!! I will not returning !!!

I had no idea this place existed, my friend chose it for lunch, and I will return after a great meal, fast service, and reasonable menu. I ordered the chicken and ham pie, tasted fresh and homemade, my friend had an egg dish that looked brilliant. There is a nice outdoor area to dine in. Im surprised to never have heard of the Rose, from what I can tell here, the reviews look great as well.

Found the rose on TripAdvisor. We was looking for a place to eat that did not evolve going to the weatherspoons. So we decided on here. There was 7 of us and we had a couple of requests 2 no meat eaters and another just wanted a prawn cocktail. And both of these was met with a smile. Had Sunday roast and it was lovely, hot and fresh with lots of flavours, also plenty of it. The garden is lovely and you really don't feel like you are in Dartford. It is a locals pub but you are made to feel very welcome. We will definitely be back. Also one last thing I can honestly say that from the barmaid to the waitress taking our order to the chef/landlady?? They really did service with a smile. Well done x

Just visited for lunch. The menu was great with lots of choice , main meals and lighter bites as well as sandwiches. Even though they were busy we didn't have to wait long and the food came out piping hot and was absolutely delicious. We all enjoyed what we had ordered and will definetly visit again.

Recently had Sunday lunch in this lovely family pub, and the quality of the meal was second to none. Had a lovely roast beef dinner and the portions were more than generous, followed by a delicious homemade plum crumble. Totally recommend.

We won a three course roast at The Rose and took our 4 year old son with us. Service was great, staff friendly, food good, all clean and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend and we will be back.

I visited this pub with friends. I hadn't heard of it until a visit was suggested and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food is basic pub fare but beautifully cooked. The portions were more than generous. I love vegetables and was very pleased to be served three kinds, all cooked exactly right.I loved the crumble and the custard was just right for me! Excellent value for money.

We came down for a Valentines Day dinner and the food was sensational. The prawns were fantastic and the chicken was brilliant. All 8 of us loved every bite and we will definitely be coming back soon. Highly recommend the food here.

Visited on a Thursday night for a beer after dinner and stayed for a few hours. Great atmosphere with Karaoke in full swing. The set up was good and most singers actually could sing, all seemed to be regulars. Very welcoming place with friendly staff

The Rose pub is by far the best in Dartford, always going above & beyond especially in the kitchen. The amount of orders the ladies get (especially for Sunday lunch & Christmas bookings) shows how popular it is. The food is exceptional & customers always return (just with the exception of the odd misery guts it seems but you always get one) Can’t recommend enough - Merry Christmas!

When I read the other reviews about the Rose I wonder if they are talking about the same Pub! We visit the Rose at Christmas for a large get together. This time we were very disappointed . There was no Christmas atmosphere apart from crackers on the table. The buffet was very bland with no effort put into presentation and the staff were very unfriendly. We won’t be going back next year!

Been going here for years with family and friends. Great menu and food great. Lovely Sunday lu ch but recommend that you book as it gets busy. Reasonably priced with a great garden for eating outside in the summer. Afternoon tea offered too.

The food is the best in Dartford, freshly cooked, I regularly eat in here now, staff are really friendly, good prices, I wouldn’t eat any where else but here. Well done THE ROSE, you made us feel very welcome.

Visited this afternoon with my family for afternoon tea, the food was delicious, which was made by Ange and Tracey! Absolutely lovely staff, and such a lovely pub! I would definitely recommend to anyone.

I went to the Rose yesterday for the second time, I had the 3 course roast both times.

Went in there today and it was very quiet, yet the barmaid was very nice and made the two hours very relaxing and was very friendly, I would definitely go there again

Top notch pub, great beer, great bar staff and reasonable prices. We visited during the winter but I'd imagine during the summer the outdoor beer garden would be lovely! Would highly recommend a visit to anybody there for a night out!

great value home cooked delicious Sunday lunch served by friendly staff tradtional roast with choice of beef or turkey and choice of two or three courses. A member of our paty didn;t like cabbage so was presented with garden peas instead nothing was too much trouble.

We all had the roast dinner. The food was of a very high standard, large portion, hit and fresh. The service was friendly and good. The desserts devilishly delicious.

Without being over the top it's the best Sunday Dinner out in Dartford by far .... all fresh and perfectly cooked and not excessively priced..... Would I go back .... YES EVERY SUNDAY if eating out

I've never eaten in The Rose but been for a few pints a few times. They serve Courage Best so for me the place is already onto a winner. The pub is the only one I've ever been in which boasts several dartboards and a fitted oche!

Whether you want a nice place to have something to eat during your lunch hour, or to have a beer after work, this pub is the best you can find in Dartford. An extensive Menu is available with a range of often homemade food. Also on Sundays they serve a great Roast Dinner. Would advise on pre booking as they get booked up quickly.

Don't be fooled by the Rose externally which doesn't give the impression it can deliver a good quality meal. I've had a few Roast Dinners in the Rose and find the price very reasonable. You get 3 courses for 15-16 pound.The food is of a high standard. I had a the Prawn Cocktail to start which was very good with a lot of king prawns. The Roast was what I hoped, a lot of meat, I chose the beef, crispy roast potato's and good selection of vegetables. Definitely recommend.

Been here a few times and never had any other than a really nice meal and find the staff really friendly. The garden is a real find and kept lovely. Very peaceful. Would strongly recommend this pub to all. Good value too.

Always get really good food in here and the beers good too, also they play sports on the large screen and have two pool tables and darts if that floats your boat.

Regularly go for Sunday lunch, food is amazing and home cooked. Good choice of starters and deserts with your usual roast choices for mains. Good price and lovely atmosphere.

Ang serves amazing food at The Rose. The amount of effort she puts in is so evident when you experience the quality of food. From weekday lunches to roast dinners myself and the family have never been disappointed. Whist we were in there we also saw that they have started doing afternoon tea which looked lovely. The puddings are always exceptional, so I imagine afternoon tea would be too. The roast dinners are as good as a homemade roast and the value for money is great. All staff are very friendly too. Well worth a visit.

This is the best place around for a sunday roast, nice big portions and food has always been excellent every time we've been.Same goes for a midweek lunch, I tend to stick to my favourite chicken caesar salad but all the lunches look nice and freshly made. Went to the rose today for afternoon tea with the girls for something special to do and it was really lovely and great value for £12.50 (The photo attached doesnt include everything, there are too many courses to fit on the stand!) Fav pub in Dartford by far.

So we have been here 5 months and have tried all the local pubs and I can honestly say the Rose cooks the best really amazing . Not just one but all three courses, thank you.

Food here is very good but the pub itself needs jazzing up! Very dull and gloomy inside. Bar staff very good.

met friends here in the summer holidays. We had lunch was homemade very good, Staff very friendly nothing too much trouble, moved tables together for big crowd of us.

I was told this was owned by Andy Fordham the darts player, im not sure but it is a lovely pub, great for a quick lunchtime pop in and a drink. Food was good service was nice and the place was very good.

Meet up with friends once a month or so. Good selection on menu but check out the specials board. Shepherds pie, chicken pie, whatever is on offer always delicious. Also the best coffee I've had in a restaurant. Pay & display parking adjacent and across road.

Always a nice place to be. Very friendly staff, nice and clean and a beautiful garden. 2 pool tables, 2 dartboards, sky tv and music. It's a 3 min walk from dartford train station and on my route home, what could go wrong!! Highly recommend.

I have a monthly visit to catch up with friends. There is a lovely atmosphere. The menu has now been extended. Angela is an excellent cook her Shepherd's Pie was to die for was disappointed not to be able to have it on my last visit but the Sausages and Mash were delicious too. These owners have worked hard to get this Pub on the map and the extended menu is working well with not everything being served with the inevitable chips!!

I often eat at The Rose with friends during our lunch hour from work. The food is always exceptional and competativley priced for the area. I have also heard that they do a mean Sunday Lunch and have heard very good reports on the standard of the food in general. I have noticed that they are in the process of decorating the inside (not before long) and I hear that the toilets are getting a revamp. The beer garden is very nice and in the summer months it's nice to sit outside. The staff are always pleasant and the kitchen staff are always accomodating if you are a bit fussy....
