Yet another five star review to add to the large collection but, frankly, it is so deserving of it. Went with my wife to the famous Tea at The Ritz and we could not have been happier with the experience. The setting is a delight, the food is beyond wonderful and the staff ,oh the staff, from the waiters to the door staff and beyond they are friendly, helpful and there when you need them without being intrusive. We got chatting to a few staff members and it was a common theme that they had been there for many years and had no intention of leaving anytime soon. Their standards are of the highest quality and the training shines through. A fabulous experience and one that we will certainly repeat.

4 star rating relative to Michelin starred restaurants. Obviously the food is splendid and the atmosphere is unique old school England. Great for a special occasion. We loved the langoustine appetizer, spectacular in a delicious creamy sauce. The duck was wonderful, with an exquisite shimmering sauce, just like it should be. My wife had the veal, which would have been better if more rare. For dessert we shared the banana souffle, sans chocolate sauce-- against the advice from the waiter. But it was delicious. Great place for old school charm, without the old school cooking.

It was our 42nd wedding anniversary and we thought our son had booked us into the Ritz for their famous afternoon tea, but in fact he had booked a lunch experience. The whole experience was brilliant from the start, from the initial greeting by the door staff to the cloakroom attendant, the welcome at the Rivoli bar to the actual meal itself. My wife and I shared the leg of lamb, while my son and niece shared the whole Bresse duck as our mains on the 3 course lunch menu. Both were carved at the table by the knowledgeable staff who took the time to explain each course in detail —this extended to the starters, mains, desserts, amuse bouche even the petit fours. The presentation, the formality and of course the exquisite surroundings of the main dining room with a pianist were beyond reproach as was the quality of the food and impeccable service throughout. Of course all this does not come cheap and our final bill which included cocktails, champagne, wine and coffee came to a four figure amount. It’s affordable only for a special occasion and as a final nice touch we were presented with a small anniversary cake and card to take home. All in all a lovely experience but unlikely to be repeated on a regular basis. We even saw some famous faces also dining there at the same time.

We visited for our wedding day on a Friday when the live music and dancing happens which is truly special and an amazing experience. Getting a reservation was tough so all I will say is plan ahead and hustle. Note this is not the same spot as where the afternoon tea happens. FOOD We went for the 7 course set meal which was overall fantastic, some dishes were better than others such as the red mullet and the lobster dish. The duck liver was a little too sweet for me on the other hand. I must say by the time we arrived to dessert we were stuffed and barely managed to try the two desserts that were part of the 7 course meal. Also we say 7 courses but that’s excluding two rounds of amuse-bouches before and the sweet treats they give you with your bill. So it’s more like 10 course meal. As much as I enjoyed it, I think it was excessive and I would have preferred the A La Carte choice as it includes some “experience dishes” which involve cooking in front of you as it is for the Crepe Suzette for instance or the Pigeon from my understanding. These can be more memorable experiences. However, you will then be charged a separate 55£ fee for the show part of the evening. We paid about £320 per person with barely any alcohol. ENTERTAINMENT It started off with a live band, then live singing with the band, then dancing and finally back to the live band where customers can go to the dance floor between courses and enjoy some dancing. It’s very traditional and wholesome to watch. Once in a life experience to do in my opinion. STAFF/SERVICE This is a 1 star Michelin and honestly as much as we befriended some of the young staff members, we thought the service wasn’t Michelin worthy. We asked for both still and sparkling but only got still. We asked for wine and this was brought 30min later. We were not offered stools for handbags as some of the other tables. The waiters kept hitting the back of my sister’s head when passing behind her. Overall all minor things that did not impact our experience but simply not the perfection you expect from the most iconic hotel in the country. Another thing you should remember is that this is an experience and you will be there for a VERY long time. We sat down at 7:45pm and left 4h later… ATMOSPHERE Breathtaking, end of. A dream come true to visit the iconic Ritz, an institution in British culture from the royals to Churchill to what it is still today. A pleasure to be there. PS: dress code is very strict

An amazing experience. Afternoon tea booked for my moms 60th birthday. It’s something she’s always wanted to do so we all went along for the fun. We received the warmest possible welcome by the doormen who I would like to give a special call out to. They could not have been more welcoming to the six of us. Nothing was too much trouble, happy to take and pose with us for pictures and even encouraged this to help us enjoy the experience. They took our suitcases with no issue at all. Clock room staff were very down to earth and great to chat to. Service continued with a sense of excellence from all. The room sang happy birthday to my mom with a special cake just for her. The afternoon tea itself was also fantastic, everything was quickly replenished upon request. 5/5 Thank you to The Ritz London team and a special shout out to the front doormen on the morning of the 12th of Feb 2024.

Had a fantastic experience at the Ritz for my birthday. Everything was very tasty and the « arts de la table » menu was very well executed and entertaining (you’re at the Ritz after all!). The only negative point is not related to the evening itself but concerns the communication during the booking process which I’ve found impersonal and poor for an establishment of such standard.

Afternoon Tea at The Ritz has definitely been on my bucket list for a while and today I got to tick that off. The Ritz itself is, as I had imagined, beautiful. A feast for the eyes. The area where you eat Afternoon Tea is full of splendour and all the food was delicious and plentiful. All sandwiches & cakes were so tasty, with lots of different choices. Without us asking, we were offered extra sandwiches & scones at no extra charge. You could also have a choice of more than one kind of tea, so absolutely worth the money, but it’s not cheap at £84. Staff were very friendly and attentive. All in all I’m very happy I got to tick this off today 🤩🤩

Good design, a bit dated and faded in places. 1980s style vibes. Lobster starter very overcooked, quite rubbery (the the chef must have known, as the tail and claw were both a half (so cut, and if you cut it, you know how it's cooked) - very very low standards: worst lobster I've ever had). Deer was nice, but the accompaniments didn't really go with it. Mediocre really, bad for the price. Dessert however, was amazing. Possibly the best I've ever had. If you go here, 100% go for dessert!

Where do I start........ The attention to every single detail is second to none. From the moment you're received in the establishment, you are treated as though you belong and will not leave dissatisfied. The staff have mastered the ability to remain 100% attentive without constantly coming to the table asking if you're OK. Before ordering, we were introduced to our 3 servers, all very specific in their roles and dare I say it masters of their arts. The wine menu resembles a manual. However, the sommelier makes it feel and appears to be minimal with his in-depth knowledge and suggestions for perfect accompanying wine. The food, 😁 let me take a moment to reflect........Every single course has been expertly designed, prepared, and delivered. The explanations when the food arrives again is second to none. I won't suggest what to order as I am extremely comfortable in consigning the entire menu...however I must make specific mention of the banana soufflé 😆 absolutely THE BEST desert I've had and from initial spoonful I was already upset in knowing eventually it would be finished. The ability to create such a light, airy, tasteful desert is an artwork in itself. I could go on and on but will simply encourage anyone reading this review to make your booking and experience high-end service and food immediately!!

Located at the far end of the long opulent corridor on the right of concierge. The warm greeting and jackets sent to the clock room. Sat in the middle of the restaurant in a table for two facing the exterior. Not a great view as it was that of a Christmas tree and the green park tube stop sign. The interior was very Neo renaissance. Golden Statues at one end, amazing light deco and pink floral carpets. The amouse bouche was ok- the duck was good but the other average. Bread was pretty standard and so the butter. Had the lunch three course for £85, selection of three starters and mains and two deserts. The starters were very good. Trout piece was fresh with segments of grapefruit and orange but more of a summer dish then a winter dish. Pate was very good- looked like a meat sandwich on its side, rich with an accompaniment of toasted bread Lamb was good, looked pink but tasted overdone as was kept warm before serving. The accompanying mint puree was excellent as was the base sauce. Turbot again overdone- kept warm again, two rich sauces which was both amazing but on the extremely Salty side. The Banana souffle was amazing, one of the best soufflés I’ve ever had. The other desert of lemon with a jelly film on the top was average, too tart and too sweet. Was generally a nice amount of diners from 1300-1345 then it got too busy after that. Service was attentive but not too formal. Good balance.

Booking online was a little challenging for single diner; but after sending an email to the reservation team, the problem was quickly resolved and my table was confirmed. Thank you so much for the prompt response. The dining experience is nothing short of expectation. It's only when stepped into the place, you appreciate the ask for dress code. It does uplift the vibe of the place. As I arrived slightly early before the restaurant is ready to open its door; I was invited to have a seat at the lounge area and soon was invited to join for dinner. While on vacation in London and on my way to have an experience of a life, I stepped inside the Ritz Hotel, invited by the steward who saw that I was taking pictures of the outdoor Christmas decorations, which are truly understated, in comparison to the ones inside! The Ritz-Carlton has a restaurant bar that accepts walk-ins but prefers reservations, especially for those who are not guests of the hotel. After a busy morning, I returned for a second time to look at the decor and to have lunch. I was incredibly happy to be accommodated, thank you very much! At the restaurant bar, I had a famous mouthwatering Ritz Club paired with a delicious glass of wine from the vineyards of Tuscany. In addition, i was served complimentary starters that included the best olives I ever had! Antonio, the multilingual English, also Spanish speaking server, made my experience delightful as he catered to my needs. I truly enjoyed the wine recommendation, but more importantly, my overall experience at the restaurant bar, and you will be happy to know the prices were also reasonable. On my way out I stopped to take a picture of the Christmas tree, which has to be three stories high, but while attempting the photograph, I was asked to move away from a tiny hall, that leads into stairs which lead to, I assume a guest only area. I enjoy exploring hotels, restaurants... attractions that I may write helpful reviews for those looking to enrich their life with an amazing experience While Antonio was phenomenal, not everyone is helpful or friendly at this hotel, and it is quite disappointing given it is considered a luxury five-star hotel! I don't think so, not with the tone or disposition, of the gentleman, i sure wish i asked for his name As far as i am concerned and in order to be a guest at a five star hotel, I would like to know i will be treated with a kind and friendly disposition, an arrogant and condescending attitude is totally unacceptable!! For that reason I would not recommend the hotel but do recommend that a welcoming and friendly disposition should be required of all employees, not just the servers at the restaurant bar!

So looking forward to having afternoon tea at the Ritz as it has been on my bucket list. Decided to go for a big birthday. Sadly I was very disappointed. It felt like a posh canteen. Everyone was sitting in rows of circular tables and...

Beautiful, historic and elegant space. Food was flavorful and creative, service was top notch and I loved the live jazz singer. Perfect spot for a truly posh meal to enjoy a classical elegant space

This was everything you would have imagined it to be. The service was impeccable. Great selection of canapés and the Beef Wellington was superb, it was large enough to be shared between two people. The grandeur of the baroque interiors really makes you feel like you are dining in a palace.

Been a couple of times now, excellent both times. The food is exceptional and a little twist and theatre to each dish. A must try is the beef Wellington!

Absolutely magical experience at the ritz dining room. Having dined there before I strongly recommend you DONT take the tasting menu, as all the fun stuff (crepes Suzette flambéed at the table, beef wellington etc) is not part of even the 7 course tasting. Service wasn’t flawless but was very very good, absolutely loved the langoustine and beef wellington (it’s too big to finish). Crepes Suzette is a MUST order for dessert, and they even gave us complimentary birthday cakes. The room is stunning, and the crowd is very mixed. Remember there is a dress code for gentlemen. Perfect for a special occasion, would absolutely return.

Certainly an experience to have at least once, if you can afford it. Dinner for 4 with (not expensive) champagne was about £800+. The food was excellent, but not better than our (much less expensive) high class restaurants in our home town. The presentation, wait staff, and ambience was, of course, impeccable. I had the lamb, which was ordered medium but came out medium rare. The sauce was good but lacked some depth of flavor. That is the way I felt about most of the food there. The wait staff is always present to fulfill any of your needs. Some of the choices involve tableside preparation, which is always a great show. Overall, a great experience.

A fabulous anniversary dinner. The food was excellent as always and the service impeccable. A special thank you to Enzo for making the night so memorable. There is nowhere quite like the Ritz. How it has only one star remains a mystery.

The Ritz Restaurant in London is an exquisite culinary haven. From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance was elegant, and the service impeccable. The menu was a delightful journey of gourmet flavors, and each dish was a masterpiece. A truly memorable dining experience, leaving me in awe of the culinary expertise at The Ritz.

We treated ourselves to the Epicurean menu for Sunday lunch. It goes without saying that when you visit the Ritz you get possibly the finest hotel interior anywhere in the world, and I’m happy to say that quality of the food was right up there with it. The 5 courses were superbly balanced and complemented each other perfectly. The variation of flavours and textures was a delight, and we spent 3 hours enjoying every single mouthful! At the end we were comfortably full (of course!) but no more. Very pricey but is it worth it? Absolutely!

Exceptional. The hotel is so cosy and beautifully decorated, cocktails in the bar were very nice (although service was a tad slow as very busy), and the food was perfect. Pianist and singer came out about 7.30 which was also great. We had the Beef Wellington for 2 which was cooked beautifully and cut at the table, couldn't fault it. Obviously the whole thing was a tad pricey, but for the next special occasion I'll be heading back with no doubt.

We celebrated my mothers 80th Birthday on Saturday. It was a fabulous occasion made all the more special by this remarkable venue, its staff from the moment we set foot on the steps right through the evening of dining and dancing. Special thanks to our table team of Diana, Mihai and Will the sommelier who really looked after us. The praise you receive is well deserved and I recommend anyone who loves a grand occasion In amazing surroundings cared for by delightful professional staff to visit. The food was beautifully crafted. We all argued what was best, but it seems the lamb won the day! Thank you all and see you next time.

What a delightful evening at the Ritz restaurant last night. Granted it is not cheap, but we felt it was real value for money. Such a special experience, excellent service, incredible attention to detail and all amounted to a wonderful evening. The dining room is so beautiful, the layout is perfect, superb pianist and singer and a lovely atmosphere. The food was en pointe, stunning presentation and every course delicious. It all felt effortless and courses arrived with perfect timing (so rare these days). After the petit fours we were given a card and a small cake for our wedding anniversary which was such a nice touch. I cannot fault the restaurant and it will now be our go to location for special occasions. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

It was the most beautiful place and dinner of my entire life. The place, the food, the show (I went on Saturday Night). The attention was amazing, special thanks to Daniel (Spanish guy) who was the waiter in charge of my table. I have visited many luxury places around the world but this was by far the best one. Also was a special occasion for me and my partner and all the stuff was aware, taking care of all the details. Thanks again ! And I hope to see you again Ritz!

Visited for our anniversary lunch, this was an absolutely amazing experience, like eating in a royal palace! The decor and surroundings are so opulent and the staff welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable. The food is out of this world, classical dishes done fantastically well, served and presented like works of art. The beef Wellington was sublime, never tasted beef like it and the crepes Suzette prepared at the table beautiful. We both thought all things considered this is probably our best ever restaurant meal. It is not a cheap option, was never going to be, but for a special occasion it is so worth doing. Loved every minute of the experience

We booked a table for two for Saturday Night Live at The Ritz, which included a four-course meal complimented with various hors d'oeuvres, a live crooner performance throughout, a 3-stage dance performance, and an opportunity for guests to dance together afterwards (from 22:00-ish). The total cost for us was just shy of £500, with one glass of champagne each, but costs will obviously differ per order. We felt that the quality of the food was like nothing we've ever had before, even at other michelin starred restuarents. The immersive nature of the experience made us feel as though we were early 20th century elite. Overall, we felt that we had more than our moneys worth, though mostly due to the novelty of the experience itself. We booked one year in advance and paid in full on the day. We were also not guests of the hotel, so that is not a mandatory qualifer to eat here for those wondering. We loved our experience and shall never forget our anniversary, but we can only recommend the experience to only those who will appreciate it holistically. Meaning that those just going for food, drink, and music will feel short changed as going here is a luxury experience in its self. Therefore, and we don't mean to sound pretentious by this, we can also only recommend the experience to those who can actually afford it and then some.

Nothing was too much trouble, including responding to dietary requirements and a request to bring out a birthday cake discreetly rather than in the usual manner.
