The Rising Sun Pub in City of London, Westminster

Loved this place. Finger foods were great as was the Guinness. Bat staff were friendly and helpful. Toilets clean. Great party and atmosphere.

If you are looking for a proper old school pub, with great atmosphere, service and beer. This is definitely a place to go. Love coming here for an afterwork pint. They do a really good Guinness.

Good old london pub, good food, great Guinness and nice selection of real ales. Hasn't really changed much in years and that certainly adds to the character, been back recently and starting too charge a bit too much for the Guinness now, we'll back after a while due too the trains cancelled and I take it back for the price generally about the same as most places. It's such a great pub,staff very friendly punters total mix and just a great pub. If your visiting London give it a go especially late afternoon the place is thriving and it is how the good old london pub should and used to be lots of history a pub you shouldn't miss if in town, still one of the best in town 4.5.23 Update as of 22/9/23 OK same as above the Guinness is just spot on the price is £6.40 a pint so about right nowadays unfortunately but hey. Its a lovely little hidden gem Trust me.14/12/23 still great Guinness and still 1 of my top 5 in town. Enjoy. Update 22/3/24 still a gem, definitely top 5 Guinness in town (my opinion) still gets busy give it a go.

Very nice burger, Tasted flame grilled. French fries could have been better but not to the point of complaining.

Great little pub in the heart of the city. Good beer and a great atmosphere.

Stopped here today after a long walk up St Paul's. It was EXACTLY what we needed. The Guinness was amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious. Charlie and Zoey were wonderful to talk to and my girlfriend and I had a fantastic time just catching up and relaxing and meeting new people. The Sriracha sauce is also great ;) I highly HIGHLY recommend you popping by here :)

Have never had the food, but generally attentive bar service. Very much a standing up after work city pub, decent options on tap.

Stopped in for a pint on a really hot day after a visit to St. Paul's, really friendly welcome, proper British pub with great atmosphere and amazing cold beers. Lovely staff and will be returning. A great find.

This is a great pub... great choice of beer.. most importantly it serves Stella. there is a bloke with a very red face in there and a very loud laugh... every time i go in there he seems to be there. not sure if he is the owner or just lives close by. You will know who i am talking about if you ever go to this pub.

Young's beer is excellent here. Busy on a Thursday evening but lots of room outside.

This is predominately a drinking pub and it is excellent for it. Perfect spot after work to sink a few and relax. The staff are always accomodating and efficient. Great selection of booze served with friendly and fast service. They play the big sports matches on the TV's - World Cup/Six Nations etc.. It does get busy during the week after about 5pm but its a great atmosphere. Theres seating in and outdoors (with heaters and blankets available, just ask nicely at the bar) and when it's busy the street is filled with customers as it's a popular ''after work'' spot for many. Have had food here a few times as well and it's always served in good time and it's lovely. If you're local and looking for a regular spot for a pint or 3, I can't recommend The Rising Sun enough. A nice and quiet little pub on a not so much frequented street. Very friendly personnel and some good chips.

They were extremely kind and nice to us, we were a party of 10 and managed to move people and tables around to be able to sit us. Food was really good as well. If you're in the area I would definitely recommend

My first time in London and I tried the Bangers & mash. It was delicious and I really enjoyed it. If I had more room in my belly I would have ordered another one. I had a chance to eat some authentic food here and I am very excited. I will be coming again.

Went for a pint after a long day's work working away from home only to be told that we could order drinks but would have to drink them outside as we had hi viz ppe on. This pub is not some flashy wine bar in Covent garden, it's just a corner pub in London. Absolutely disgusting that they should ask for working class men to drink outside just because they have work wear ppe on. They Happily took the £6 to £7 for a pint though!!

Went last Sunday. Roast was 19.50 each. We were the only two people in there..chap behind the bar wasn't overly friendly. The beef was very fatty and we couldn't eat most of it. Had to ask for condiments etc. At no point did he come over and ask if it was ok or offer drinks or dessert. Bit disappointing really..

Was very fortunate to have a Christmas lunch at the Rising Sun Pub yesterday. The service was first class and the food outstanding. I chose a 3 course Christmas lunch and the standard of everything on the plate for each course was truly delicious. It was one of the best Christmas lunches I have enjoyed in years. Please pay this wonderful pub a visit, you wont be disappointed!

Lovely little side alley bar with a good range of beers and barrel tables for outdoor seating. A little way off the main road so you can enjoy a quiet pint. Reasonably priced as well. The food looked amazing but we did not try any of it. Service was quick.

One of my favourite pubs in London

Like others, we found this pub by chance, while wandering along the quirky backstreets from Blackfriars to our hotel near St Paul’s. It was busy at lunchtime,so I checked with the friendly landlady if we needed to book 4 dinner that night but no prob. Being an unusually balmy ( not barmy!) night we sat outside for evening drinks, met our son then moved indoors for eats. Great atmosphere, brilliant service and good food n drinks. I had the yummy slouvaki and brilliant Malbec wine. Such an enjoyable evening and so glad we found you, guys.

Came here for Sunday lunch, what a treat! Fantastic food, lovely hosts, couldn’t fault anything. I’m vegetarian and gluten free, all catered for.

Love the location, tucked away around the St. Paul's area. Really helpful, friendly, competent owner/manager and staff (they handled a customer "incident" very well indeed). Personally, I find the psychedelic windows a bit troubling (saw all this the first time around, ha, ha!!) and I think the interior is in need of an awful lot of tlc to bring it up to a standard where, I am sure, they would attract a LOT more customers. There are not enough "normal" seats/tables - mostly bar stools - and those in place at the moment are rather reminiscent of an old people's home. The flooring is also rather grim and a little hazardous in area - definitely one or two trip risks. I feel a bit sad about this pub, because I really think that, if it had some money thrown at it, it would repay it many times over. Thanks to the lovely staff for looking after us the other day!

We were attracted by the quirky colourful window paintings, and by the outward appearance of the pub. Inside is a visual feast, lots to look at. The bar staff were friendly, and the mezze lunch superb. I was delighted to see Viognier available by the glass.

A great backstreet pub, just off Ludgate hill, a stones throw from St Paul's Cathederal. A roomy pub with a horseshoe bar and plenty of tables outside. An absence of traffic gives an air of tranquility in the centre og London. Beer lovely and cold served by efficient welcoming staff. There is an upstairs dining room serving excellent food, including a very tasty generous Sunday lunch. A most excellent place to visit.

Nice setting, average beers but dreadful host. The barman/owner was incredibly rude and had a go at basically everyone that came in the pub for some misdemeanour. Won’t be returning

Had a great vegan Sunday roast. Super quick and friendly service and a great price at £14 each for both mine (vegan) my dad's (chicken) main meal.

Had lunch here today and it was so lovely. Sausages and mash, with maribone gravy; delicious 😋 Pink gin and lemonade was just the ticket to cool me down on this hot, sunny day. Friendly, attentive staff - will definitely be popping in for lunch and a glass or two of Pink Gin!!

It was lovely and staff fab. Only criticism would be the the hallumi starter was overpriced for two slices of hallumi ,some fig chutney and 4 salad leaves @ 7 quid . Calamari was really nice though and a generous portion .

Went here last night for some drinks and food. Friendly staff and good selection of beers. They offer a simple and classic pub food menu. I had the fish and chips which was very nice. The pub is in a great central location and is on a quiet street which was nice to sit outside in with drinks and food. Would definitely recommend visiting if you're in the area or planning a trip.

Tucked away proper pub. A stones throw from St Paul's, but a million miles away from the soulless chain / tourist holes in the area. A proper old school pub, well, bar the prices but they're worth paying as you are in a real pub.

It's not a memorable place, but it does do it's job as a center pub. Central location, fast service, decent variety of beverages.

Had a nice drink. Nice English pub.
