The Rhubarb Cafe in Sheffield

Never been to "The Shed" for Sunday Lunch so we booked for us & our friends. So pleased we did, just as expected the food was exceptional & the portions enormous. 2 of us went for the pork and 2 for the beef, cooked to perfection, the meat was super tasty & tender. As usual, we couldn't eat it all so some went home with us. If you have not been you are missing a real treat !!

Had a delicious breakfast here. We didn't expect little place like this to have such lovely staff and food! This is definitely our new breakfast favourite. We are eager to come back and try the lunch menu and afternoon tea!

Beautiful place the food is excellent it’s always busy so would be advisable to pre book a table the staff are lovely and very knowledgeable make sure you leave room for a dessert you definitely need to try one delicious

Have wanted to visit for some time and was not disappointed at all. Afternoon Tea was fantastic. Fresh sandwiches with four different fillings. Pork pie, sausage roll and a gorgeous caramelised onion quiche. Delicious scones, and a selection of sweet tasty cake treats. Pictures show how incredibly presented it was but doesn’t do justice to how delicious each was. Staff were great and working hard, it was very busy but we didn’t feel cramped or rushed away after we’d finished. Although we were nicely full after our afternoon tea we appreciated how delicious food from their menu looked as it came out to other diners. We will definitely be back to try out the menu.

All are catered for here with separate vegan & gluten free menus. We squeezed the last table upstairs & its a welcoming spot. The Arnold Benedict was delicious & rich & the avocado & halloumi a plateful. Staff are lovely, service is excellent. I couldn’t help noticing that the afternoon tea is popular here with groaning trays of cakes & bites. The Ladies that lunch have moved onto tea & I will be back to even the numbers.

A group of 4 of us booked a table here to celebrate my birthday. The venue is quite small but the staff are expert at quick turn around of tables so no one seemed to have to wait. The menu seems to have a mixture of regular items and specials and I was really spoiled for choice. In the end I went for the Sunday Roast duo, which came with beef and pork. The waitress warned us there may be a small delay in the food arriving since they were busy. In the end the wait was not too bad at all. The meal was delicious and the meat really tender and brisket style. The price was also very reasonable. I loved this place and I highly recommend it!

Excellent, just dropped in having googled ‘cafes near me’ and had a great lunch. Can recommend the quiche. A fantastic find and we’ll be back.

What a pleasant surprise! Why a surprise? Well, this level of food and presentation of it, I normally see from swanky city centre boutique food cafes… however this little gem is hidden out of the city up in the hills amongst some lovely shrub Personally, I always look for city centre ‘popular’ places, it’s just what I’m use to…. But this is incredible. Honestly, I highly recommend this and rarely take the time to leave reviews (we’re all very busy right?), I couldn’t NOT leave one for this. Awesome team, lovely setting, incredible food and just bloody wonderful. Well done everybody this is incredible (writing whilst eating my food)

My son brought me here for breakfast, The food was very good I had the eggs Benedict, it was lovely and presented really well, and the cakes are very nice too. And what a lovely place, it's a suprise when you walk through the door, just so unexpected the decor and style is really nice, the lighting and ambience is comfortable its much more than a cafe. The staff are very attentive and freindly, Stacey who is very smiley and freindly, did a great job making sure we were well looked after. I will definitely be bringing my friends here.

We have loved Rhubarb Shed ever since they did the catering for our wedding in 2021 and our latest visit was no different. The food was delicious and incredible value, fantastic service and a lovely atmosphere. We got cake to takeaway as we were too full to have any following our amazing lunch. Can highly recommend-consistently fantastic quality at very affordable prices.

Daughter's birthday so me and my wife booked afternoon tea at 14:00 on 31st May. Excellent welcome at Reception and then shown to our table where the waitress explained that we could have unlimited tea or coffee. Afternoon tea arrived. Wife is vegetarian so she was served hers separately, whilst me and my daughter were served ours on a slate on a rack. Excellent spread. I highly recommend this place.

We enjoyed an excellent afternoon tea. Staff were very helpful and included our two 3 year old companions in the experience. We ordered a child's afternoon tea for them to share, which was very much appreciated and tailored to them. The adult's afternoon tea was delicious and beautifully presented. We were offered extra drinks several times whilst we were eating and were given sturdy boxes to take away the delicacies were couldn't manage to eat in situ!

Afternoon tea . The staff extremely polite and the whole experience was quaint. A busy place and the buzz of the conversations and closely placed tables made it noisy but full of atmosphere if a little snug. Excellently presented the food came in platters with an abundance of tea! Pork pie delicious (no fat so I loved it as don’t usually eat pork pie for that reason) quiche had a pickle twist - lovely. The bun/sweet treats were smaller than most afternoon teas I have been to they were nice so I looked at those as quality over quantity. One was served in a tiny individual jam pot excellent idea of recycling and gives you an idea on the size (bite size) Scone was ok and served with a tiny individual pot of jam and cream. First visit but would consider visiting again and trying their lunch menu or a coffee and cake in the outdoor area in the sun.

My partner and I had a lovley Sunday roast today. He had pork and I had beef. You didn't need a knife for the meat as it just fell apart. Came with my partner for lunch! He had the bacon Brie and cranberry ciabatta with chips and salad. All was very good, plenty of bacon although couldn’t taste the cranberry sauce. I had the halloumi salad which unfortunately needed more substance. It was basically rocket with a few bits of onion and red pepper topped with four bits of cheese. I was hungry afterwards not won over on flavours. Maybe if it was served with some warm bread and oil on the side it may of been better. I wouldn’t have it again at £7. The place itself is nice and the staff were friendly. Busy little place and would return for a simple ciabatta!

My lovely god-mum mentioned a while ago that, at 87, she'd never had an afternoon tea. For Christmas I gave her an I.O.U for one and chose Rhubarb Shed as it's one of her favourites. It didn't disappoint! The savoury slate had a lovely choice of sandwiches plus quiche, pork pie and sausage roll. The sweet plate had a lovely selection of delicate, and delicious, buns, cheese cake and scone with a generous helping of jam and cream. All washed down with copious amounts of tea. The place was packed and all the food coming out looked amazing. The staff were so pleasant and welcoming, the prices very reasonable. All in all a great success and I'd highly recommend this place. I'll be back.

We went to TheRhubarb Shed for Christmas afternoon tea - absolutely fabulous. Really good scones with homemade strawberry jam. Perfect sandwiches, pork pie and tasty quiche. Showstopping cakes - 6 each! We needed a doggy bag to take some home. The staff were really friendly and efficient. Cosy surroundings. A real hidden gem.

Visited Rhubarb Cafe for brunch for the first time today. I had Eggs Benedict and black coffee which were both excellent. It's good, strong coffee (none of that Starbucks rubbish). They did a toasted muffin with scrambled instead of poached eggs for my mum, without any fuss. The atmosphere was friendly, the place felt warm and cosy on a chilly day and the staff were very nice. We'll definitely visit again

I have yet to succumb to the afternoon tea but it looks glorious! I visited with a friend, we both chose duck which was succulent and tasty. Desert was delightful, ample clotted cream with the duo and a sticky toffee type pud! Apple and rhubarb presse sharp and refreshing, good coffee and charming staff. A true gem.

The cafe was recommended to us. Having lived in Sheffield all my life, I'd never visited this area of Sheffield and was fascinated to see the castle ruins and fields near the cafe as I had envisaged the area to be entirely built up and the last place to find a popular cafe. The portions are generous and many come with particularly good 'skin on'chips. Service was a little slow but the cafe was full both upstairs and downstairs and had a large party of students to serve. Food choices range from simple sandwiches with traditional fillings to more imaginatively filled paninis, quiche and a very limited choice of hot meals. Worth a try.

The Rhubarb Shed is a gem of a cafe with fresh home-made wholesome food and plenty of it. It is always full, which tells you something and is, therefore, advisable to book. The menu is varied and perfectly cooked.

I have been to Rhubarb shed a few times, for Sunday dinner, fathers day, afternoon teas, random breakfasts and lunches and I HAVE LOVED IT EVERY TIME!

Delicious. The first full English breakfast I’ve had in a while and it was near on perfect. The black pudding was gorgeous, bacon cooked spot on to my liking and the sausages although looked dry weren’t at all and tasted yummy. My partner said the mushrooms were great, nice and fresh. All in all pretty perfect.

Everything I've tried so far has been beautiful, but the afternoon tea has blown me away. I really can't fault this place - it really is a hidden gem. The staff are always helpful, friendly and make you feel that nothing is too much trouble.

Rhubarb Shed made for us quite literally, the best meal(s) of our lives, - they managed to create and then tailor exactly what we wanted - and amazingly all for a margin less than the price of both other (more restrictive) caterers we were in communication with.

Been here a few times now and always had amazing service and food! The rhubarb shed is always welcoming and friendly and manages to fit you in however busy they are (which is usually quite busy id recommend you book). Came here with a few friends for afternoon tea, the location of the cafe is lovely and the interior design is clean and cosy, really nice and attentive staff who regularly check up on you to see if you need anything and that everything’s alright with your meal. Me and my friends shared an afternoon tea and it was perfect, the portion size was generous but just right for us, a lot of variation with the food and everything tastes superb.

Five of us went for breakfast, four full english and a coffee and cake. Food was really good, freshly cooked and hot. The cake was light and tasty. Service was good but they were VERY busy so had to wait a little while for the bill.The only fault was the loudness but couldnt be helped as it was packed and had a really low ceiling.

Recommended by a friend who had visited here for morning coffee and so I decided to book afternoon tea. Had to pay a 30% deposit as booked in advance. Awesome staff and afternoon tea. What a selection and the quantity was huge so took a goodie tray home for the rest of the family. (Don’t reduce portions as I had had lunch at hone earlier and shouldn’t have). Clean and lovely decoration. Car parking available with plenty of large potholes which could be filled in to protect cars (not sure who would do it though). Would definitely call again and recommend to others.

Paula, Tony and the team at the rhubarb shed provided our wedding breakfast for our wedding at sheffield manor lodge and I can honestly say it was absolutely perfect. We have guests still messaging us now 3 months on remarking it was the best wedding food they have ever tasted. The presentation was not dissimilar to a Michelin star restaurant and the taste was comparative which is not easy to accomplish when cooking for 120 guests. I cannot recommend enough, absolutely divine. We have made a pact to attend the rhubarb shed every year on our anniversary for as long as they will have us! Thank you so much to all of them.
