Lovely little cafe we had a lovely time there. The service was great as was the atmosphere and we liked the breakfast although didn’t love it. Overall a great time and would go back.

Sunday breakfast and we were lucky to get a table! So glad we did as fantastic breakfast, plenty of it and all served in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Beautiful breakfast. Partner very much enjoyed the veggie haggis! As others have said, it's an open kitchen so you'll smell it on your clothes later but it's worth it!

super friendly staff and epic feed. there only seemed to be 2 staff members working who were cooking the food and then serving customers inbetween meals - sounds like it’d take a while but somehow it was so efficient and really impressive. our airbnb host hadn’t heard of this place before so we spread the good word and hopefully they do the same with future stays - super dope, loved it.

I just ate breakfast at this cafe, and I must say I am so impressed and delighted by the food, service and atmosphere. It was so calm and pleasant to sit there and have a good meal. 5 stars 👏🏻

Terrible service. Disgusting treatment. Plus, they didn't have any ingredients and didn't let us know until we asked why the dishes arrived half-baked. Incomplete dishes.

We had a really bad experience due to the service provided. The waiter was so mean that told us to shut up as he cannot understand our english accent. Not recomended at all.

Terrible treatment, when ordering the food the waiter disrespected me saying that I better keep quiet because he didn't understand me. It also said that the kitchen (very limited because they didn't have everything we ordered available) closed at 3 and didn't let us order anything after 2. Horrible experience, I don't recommend it for anyone.

Really great cafe serving delicious breakfasts. We had a group of 8 us and the team were super welcoming and sorted our orders and food out really quickly. A great first stop off the sleeper train!

Pitter patter, pitter patter, pitter patter. The rain trickles on the terracotta tiled roof tops and streams between the cobblestone streets on a weary, bitterly cold Inverness morning. "I'm starving", groaned my work colleague. "Another instance of hyperbole?", my silence implied. "Why don't we go here?" I said, feigning interest in my de facto travelling companion's complaint, "rendezvous cafe Inverness: a cinema theme cafe opened in 2007". "Yeah! You betcha" my traveling companion shrilly exclaimed. The food was good, the service was excellent. This is a place holder review until I finish the above in the coming days. Ben

I went to this café for breakfast during my stay in Inverness. I had a strong craving for something sweet. And I might as well tell you that my breakfast was exceptionally satisfying. The sweetness of my dish was truly a delight. I highly recommend this address. The staff is also very pleasant 🙏

All a bit on the expensive side, but that's everywhere now. Service was good, place looked clean with nice decor and some choice tunes 👌 If I save hard enough I might be able to afford another visit.

My wife and I are travelling in Europe from Australia. We had the full Scottish Breakfast and it was the best value breakfast we’ve had for months! Cheers

French toast with berries and banana wad delicious and generous in portion. 4 stars We really enjoyed the lady in the kitchen who loves to sing when preparing the meal. A cheerful heart surely can produce a good breakfast. No queue time upon arrival. Serving within 10 minutes upon ordering.

Brilliant cafe! Food was outstanding, service was the friendliest I’ve ever received, brilliant background music and funny black and white comedy films to watch. Blown away by this cafe! Will be coming every morning while we’re in Inverness! Card or cash payments, all table service.

The food was delicious and we got large portions. But otherwise there is not much positive to say. The music was too loud for the morning. The service was rushed. We tried 3 payment cards several times where it kept saying rejected. Finally she updated the terminal and it worked. It was a bit of a stressful situation for us as we had no cash and we were given no excuse.

Normally a great place to visit however the sausages were burnt and the cafe was very smoky (I don’t think the extraction fans were working). The smoke was stinging my eyes and left the cafe for a day of shopping smelling like a fry up! The waitress was very busy and there were mistakes with service. Very disappointing visit won’t be back in a hurry.

Nice food ... 2 breakfast...£24.o0... plus tip.... thay had laural and Hardy on the tv in bk ground. I will go bk there....

I loved this cafe, the decorations were great, they cater to dietry requirements as I'm coeliac. The staff gave free samples of drinks and was great value for money.

I had lunch at the cafe today. Staff were very friendly. The food was lovely, I had a vegetarian toastie With beetroot, chickpeas and humous Also a cappuccino and glass of tap water. The bill was £17.00 Though enjoyed my visit, felt it was a bit expensive??

We came here in the morning on our last day in Inverness, and the service was fun . The food was quite nice, I had the pancakes with maple syrup and bacon, and it was awesome. However one problem is that the music is quite loud at around 90 decibels and may start to hurt you ears if your sensitive to Lound noises but apart from that 8/10 I probably would come back for breakfast again.

A must for breakfast or brunch.

Walked in at 2:45 and was told closed. Several tables seated still. Sign on door and hours on web site all say 4.

Nice little restaurant for a great tasty breakfast. There are 2 TVs that constantly show old films (such as Laurel & Hardy). The decoration is completely focused on films. The bagel with salmon and poached egg was very tasty, but the French toast with fruit and maple syrup was also delicious. Nice relaxed atmosphere and great hospitable service.

Great vintage cinema themed cafe. Get out of the crisp Inverness air for a morning coffee and breakfast whilst silent movies play from TVs on the walls. This cafe has amazing breakfast food. It's cooked to order and local. They have a nice atmosphere built around being present and in the moment which is just what you need first thing in the morning and is a great way to start the day. The only thing which could have made it flawless and a true gem of a place would have been if the service was a little friendlier and matched the vibe of the cafe. Also the prices are touristy but that's to be expected. Come with wallets at the ready. Other than that, the cafe was so good it warranted a second visit the following morning. And a breakfast order which would have made a hobbit think twice.

Sound caf, pleasant staff, all in all I had a laugh. Brekkies here are sound with nice produce. Not a Richmond sausage in sight.

The chef serving our breakfast this morning was an artist. Watched him turn out plate after plate, and each one was fantastic looking. As for our full Scottish breakfasts, tea, and CBD tea, they were incredible. We loved the food and atmosphere of the restaurants here in Inverness, and Rendezvous Cafe was the perfect start to our day! Give it a try if you're in the neighborhood.

It is a big disappointment for me, that even in a well known cafe like this in a traditional Scotish breakfast you get canned beans (Heinz?) stuffed with sugar. I know its the same everywhere, but its a big shame for Gordon Ramsey country. In any other country when you order beans and they give you canned Heinz beans you'd get very bad reviews. Is it really that hard for a chef of a well reputed place to do beans? The canned ones are not tasty. Apart from that food was fine, but only one toast split in half for all the meat...

Had a delicious full Scottish breakfast! It lived up to the name the portion size was huge! The coffee was also incredible.

We had ordered breakfast with carrot cake and flat white. Carrot cake was dry and hard. Coffee was bitter. The staff was rude and did not even acknowledge our comment about the cake and coffee. The eggs, toast and salad were good. The overall experience was not that average.

Lovely breakfast. Only dog friendly outside but the waitress brought our dog a sausage and it was a delicious meal.

If there's one place you need to stop in Inverness it's the Rendezvous Café. Be patient, the wait is worth it. We had breakfast there every time, it was so good. The porridge is plentiful, as are the pancakes. The manager was very kind to us. This coffee is really great.

Were greeted by a male staff member with the statement ”Out waiting time is 20 minutes and We will be busy with or without you “. We had no objections to waiting but we were completely gobsmacked with his demeanour. Apologies, but this is unacceptable.

Caught the restaurant on a bad day. The restaurant was busy and we were thoughtfully told there would be a wait of about 20 min to place orders - no issue! But part way through service, one of the two servers left the restaurant, forcing one server to service, collect payment, and clear the tables. This resulted in a wait of over 40 minutes from finishing the meal to being able to pay and leave, even after flagging down a server multiple times. I went up to the counter to pay and was told the restaurant only did table service and we’d need to wait at our table. Overall, no issues with the food, but staffing and service was an issue, and wouldn’t return because of it.

Breakfast was good. It's exotic to say the least.

The place and the atmosphere was good, the staff and service also. We only got in for a coffee and about the coffee, first it was awful, tasted like coffeegorunds and burnt I had to send it back, after that I got it drinkable but still can not call it okay, all this for 4£.

Found this cozy and typically Scottish restaurant by chance. Everything was very tasty and freshly prepared. Service, prices and musical accompaniment were perfect. We'd love to come back :)

I originally gave a star rating with no description in this review but since the owner has decided to report me as part of a group supposedly 'giving each one low ranking', here is the description of our visit, today (15th July 2023) at 1pm: Great menu and lovely atmosphere. However, on our visit we waited an hour for our food to arrive (as did many other patrons), when it did one toastie was made with the incorrect type of bread (we were specifically asked 'white or brown') and the other toastie was completely wrong. It was taken away to be remade. We waited a further 20mins for my replacement toastie to arrive, all the while my friend had finished hers and our shared chips were cold. Finally my goats cheese, black pudding and caramelised onion toastie reappeared, minus the black pudding (!?). This was sent back and promptly rectified and I eventually got what I ordered. Having worked in the hospitality industry for many years I am extremely patient when it comes to waiting a long time for food, or incorrect orders. The problem here was that nobody acknowledged that we had been waiting a very long time and barely any apologies were given throughout our visit (or at least none that felt genuine). We did receive a discount on our bill but we left extremely disappointed with the service given. Hopefully this was a one off but I won't be returning, nor will I be recommending after the response from the owner I'm afraid.

Arrival at 10:25 a.m. for breakfast, it is 11:16 a.m., we are still there and without being served (only drinks). Pleasant service but very overwhelmed! Much too long for this type of restaurant

Very long service, we didn't eat with my father-in-law, his breakfast took more than 40 minutes to arrive, music too loud we couldn't hear, despite this a nice setting.

Had the french toast with berries and bananas. It was delicious! Best coffee I've had in the UK. Service was really fast which was great because we had a tour we had to catch.

Food lovely and tasty with good size portions. I had the American club sandwich that comes with chips. The chips are a most unusual taste and asking about them I was advised they came from Holland. These must be some of the nicest chips I have tasted and along with mayo they're fantastic. My wife had lentil soup which was in a good size bowl and really tasty. Wouldn't sit outside as seagulls will steal your food. Only one toilet which was reasonably clean although I'm not a Frank Zappa fan. Waiting staff nice and friendly.

Good brunch with a range of options to choose from. Waffle was extra sweet for my taste. First come first serve. The food can take little while to be serve.

Cappuccino was really bad. Veggie haggis was a 3/10. The breads were good. Not as good as the server claimed it to be

Best beef Burger in Scotland so far .. The place is tiny, but the service team are nice and willing to help. Food us great, and the location is close to main attractions! Highly recommended!

Everything was fantastic and especially the staff!!!

Very busy cafe in the heart of Inverness. We enjoyed our brunch very much especially the Scottish breakfast with haggis and blood pudding, both of which are must-try’s if you’re in Scotland. The cafe was so busy that we waited 15 mins for a table and another 15mins for the waiter to take our orders. Nevertheless, we can tell they are working as fast as possible and the wait is a reflection of the cafe’s popularity.

Superb food and tea/coffee and great service too. Would definitely recommend. Coming again before we leave.

Best Scot Breakfast ever!!! Tried the 11 items one with breakfast tea and milk and it was delicious. Friendly staff.

Lunch was excellent! Had a ciabatta sandwich with Brie, bacon, and bacon. The veggie soup was exquisite. It’s a small cafe with good music playing.

10/10! What a great Breakfast Resturant. We will come back soon.

It must be admitted that the cuisine is quite good, but at what price? A coffee and an orange juice, 8 pounds? Two pancakes (only TWO) and a Scottish breakfast tea, 11 POUNDS? Not to mention that if you go there for breakfast all your clothes will smell like grilled bacon for hours.

Went there looking for a good and healthy breakfast.. Coffee was great. Food tasted good, but poached eggs were over-cooked (shame) and the porridge had like 50gr of peanut butter (way too much for something “healthy”).

Great food, super friendly staff. I read some of the negative reviews and they seem to be about a different place. This place is great for breakfast and gently waking up.

Really enjoyed my lunch here. I had a tuna salad, with roasted chick peas, advocado. It was delicious. I had a cup of tea. Service was excellent and the owner ( the chef) was very pleasant. I would go back. Great chilling in the sunshine watching the world walk by!

We went there twice during our short stay in Inverness and we loved it, both for the breakfast and the take out. All the waiters are lovely, quick and kind and the food is good and come in a good portion for a decent price. Would especially recommend their salmon BY bagel and the CBD brownie (the waitress told us it would be homemade goowy and delicious, it didn’t disappoint, worth every bite) Thank you :)

Not 20 yards from this place there is a place that is cheaper, better quality, more flexible, better customer service and frankly I wish I'd visited first ...

Nice staff and good food. But beware of the Seagull. We sat outside and were in a constant fight with fork and knives against the seagull. It launched several air strikes and sneaky ambushes on us but in the end we won the fight. Probably the first and only time Germans won a battle on british soil. I truly never had so much fun on a breakfast. An so did the guests inside watching our epic battle. Breakfast was good!

My eggs were so tasteless and my caramelized onions were not caramelized at all and the tomato salsa was just tomatoes cut up. My least favorite meal on our Scottish road trip thus far. The woman making the coffees was very sweet

Small but very welcoming place. Super friendly staff, fantastic. All very special. The short films hanging, the film Laurel and Helium on television. We had to wait quite a while for our order but it was worth it and we weren't in a rush. In the meantime we had a taste of tea with cdb, very kind and very welcome. Open kitchen. My full vegetarian breakfast was delicious, super rich and different from the usual ones.
