The Red Lion in Mole Valley

Had a lovely lunch with my family and I must say, how great the service was from Frankie and Tomy. Great atmosphere and the Roast we all had was superb. Then was greeted by the owner Marc who was so accommodating with anything we wanted. Great pub atmosphere food and staff

Horrible prawns to start with. Straight out the frozen packet.. main meal way to salty. Horrible cheap sausage cold meat and stewed veg.. overly hot in the basement that smells damp.. owner allows dogs in that had a fight and the couple next to us put their phone on so loud for their kid it was competing with the overly loud music.. staff were lovely but clueless.. probably because they are all so young.. boss clearly didn't care..

Had a lovely evening with friends and family. The place had a couple of functions going on and because of this the service was slow. If you have big functions you should allow for extra staff. Limited car parking doesn’t help either. I had a house burger. It was small and dry. The other people in the group all said food was amazing except for the veggies who didn’t rate it. Overall think they were just cooking too many meals at the same time. Will go again as a couple and try when not so busy as feel it will be better. Must add staff were all excellent.

Lovely atmosphere with friendly staff. Highly recommend the steak and ale pie. Great homemade short crust pastry. Make sure you have a hearty appetite! We were even given a complementary appetiser, which is great for a pub

Marc and staff provided and excellent 3 course meal for 29 people in memory of a beloved Auntie. From initial contact arranging to view the facilities to adapting the menu and changing the start time at short notice. We had an intimate setting in The Cellar Room at Marc's suggestion and for those who stayed overnight had a fantastic breakfast. They couldn't have done anymore for us. Excellent service from start to finish. Highly recommend this location.

My brother and i had a most enjoyable lunch and highly recommend the swordfish steak, which was delicious. It is one of the more expensive items on the menu, but in my opinion well worth it.

My husband and I went for lunch on my birthday as we haven't visited the Red Lion for years and its in such a lovely location. We had a really enjoyable experience. The waitress (Karis) was so helpful and friendly to everybody and created a lovely atmosphere. Food tasted freshly cooked and everything we ordered was delicious. We'll definitely be back soon.

Went for dinner; appetisers and mains were smothered in oil and too much seasoning overwhelming the food dishes not really matching descriptions on menu. Couldn't finish our meals - quality of mains not good. On the bright side, staff very friendly but would not return as too disappointed with quality of food. In addition, table surface dirty and a smell of damp while eating left poor overall impression. V disappointed compared with 4/5 star reviews read in advance before our booking.

we arrived at this hotel late on a Sunday evening, we were travel weary and down to our last frayed nerve...when we arrived Mark provided the good old fashioned hospitality we needed, he showed us round and then set about ensuring we were fed and watered.(even though the resturant was closed).. the setting of the hotel is stunning and the quirky outlay of the property is interesting, we stayed on for lunch the next day and the food was great , we will return to see Mark in the near future, 10/10

My wife and I had our wedding reception at The Red Lion. They did a fantastic job. Marc and the team guided us through our experience and delivered on our expectations. They catered to our needs and assisted with everything. The food and drink were brilliant. We rented all the rooms for our guests and were very happy with the standards of all rooms and they were clean and tidy. The pub is in a beautiful setting and the garden/decking made for a relaxed and enjoyable party. Would definitely recommend the Red Lion as a venue hire. The whole team were amazing.

Wow... what an absolute find! Marc and the team are so kind, considerate and accommodating. We fell in love with everything about this place, from the peaceful location to the spacious, clean and comfortable room. In fact, we love the Red Lion so much that we have decided that this is the ideal place to hold our wedding reception. I can't wait to show this place off to my family and friends!
