The Rayleigh Club and Golf Resort in Rochford

Top wedding venue! One of my favorites! I used to DJ here for 2 years covering all the functions when it started out as The Hannover. Over the years it's been modernized and offers so much choice with the different rooms. I often DJ and take photos at my Dive Club parties held in The Willow Room. This is a nice sized room with views of the golf course and a massive decked area. In the summer you and your guests can enjoy a drink outside taking in the sunset. Whatever you're celebrating make sure you view The Rayleigh Club and if you need a quote for a DJ and Photographer I'd love to hear from you.

Nice venue, nice food, clean toilets. £6.50 for a brandy & lemonade and a coke Was there for an awards ceremony, very warm inside, only once all food had been eaten and coffee provided was the air-conditioning turned on, luckily I had a flyer i used as a fan.

I go regularly as food is always very good.I have been going for 20 plus years since i joined as member of golf course.

East course not worth playing in the winter months, saying that plays well in the summer

Excellent food, service & venue

We had a wonderful Christmas meal for 80 Carers from Rayleigh Baptist Church's Carers Ministry. We had an amazing meal with efficient staff in a lovely atmosphere. Thank you...

Choosing TRC was a natural choice given its location, parking, good food and its visitor reviews We held a wake there in the Willow room on the 5th October The room was nicely prepared, bar attended throughout and the food was plentiful and enjoyed by all attending, thank you

Myself and my now wife Jen got married at this venue. If we could give more than 5 stars we would! Jade was amazing from the first moment we met her to the last part of the day. Fully attentive answered all our questions no matter how silly and was in full control of the day. From day one we had no doubt that this wouldn’t be the case with her as she made us that confident! No issues on the day. Food was amazing and every staff member was attentive and made us feel very special. We recently had our Twighlight wedding & reception here in this beautiful venue. Jade Moon was our wedding planner, who made our special event effortless and enjoyable. The Ruby and Willow room were just perfect, and honeymoon sweet was stunning 😍. Everything went through without any problems also. Jade and her team were, professional and friendly. We and all of our guests had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed the canapes and evening buffet! We would highly recommend The Rayleigh Club for a special event.

Play both courses , small course is OK, the big course ....much better , it's a case of you get what you pay for here, and you pay a lot for both

I recently had my 60th birthday celebration here in the Willow Room. Jade Moon was my contact person and made the whole procedure effortless. The room was perfect for my requirements. The day went without a hitch thanks to the amazing team. They were so professional and accommodating. All of my guests were so complimentary about the food, it was excellent! I would highly recommend The Rayleigh Club for a special event and it would definately be my go to if I ever were to host another function.

We got married on the 17th June 23, we had a fantastic wedding Jade was the wedding coordinator and knows her job she is kind and very professional nothing was to much trouble, all the staff were very professional from the lady that done the hotel bookings she was lovely and so kind to the wonderful chefs the buffet was amazing, the bar and waitress staff Bailey was so kind and helped us at the end of the evening, and my family joined us for breakfast the next morning the staff were lovely too, so glad we picked this venue for our wedding , the bridal suite and rooms are amazing over looking the beautiful Golf Course, Thank you for making our day so special love Janet and Mike xxxxxx

Friendly club, fantastic atmosphere, pleasant surroundings, what more could you ask for?

We got married at the Rayleigh Golf Club on the 17th June, we had a twilight wedding followed by an evening reception, Jade and her team were so professional and made us feel so special and gave us a fantastic wedding and evening, the buffet was amazing plenty of delicious food so thank you to the chefs’, all our guest’s had a wonderful time and said what a beautiful venue. The disco, was brilliant and the room looked fabulous thank you to you all for making our day special love Janet and Mike xx

Unfortunately the East course (Non members) has been turned into Dunton 2.0 but with good greens. It's my local course and I've considered membership here but bunkers have been let go, tee boxes are worse than some of the rough and people walking around in hoodie shows the owner just doesn't care about the course. Since posting my orginal review things seem to have improved. It's good to see my local golf course show care and improving.

We had my father in laws celebration of life in the crystal room which was set out beautifully, the staff was amazing throughout the time we was there ,always making sure tables was clear of glasses plates etc and making sure we was happy how everything was going The food was just lovely all set looked so nice , gorgeous cakes and sandwiches Just wanted to say Massive Thank you to TRC for making such a sad day into a perfect send off Xx

Nice club, seems very friendly. Only played the East course which is open to all, not the South course which is sadly only open to Members and member guests.

Played 18 holes on the East course with my son and Grandson. Every hole was in state of repair. All with temporary tees. Most of the greens were in very good condition though. There were no bunkers. The fairways were decent but not great. £24 for an adult was a bit much for the state of the course. Steer clear till they finished it.

We hosted my sons 21st birthday party & I really couldn’t have asked for more. The food always great, the venue was amazing & the staff really couldn’t have done more. From the organising before hand to the bar staff on the evening. A very well deserved 5 stars.

Was lucky enough to be taken to The Rayleigh Club for lunch on Mother’s Day by my husband, along with my mother-in-law & daughter. Upon arrival, the lovely Clare was ready to greet us with a complimentary glass of Prosecco & after taking a photo of our party in the foyer, we were quickly shown to our table. The food was absolutely delicious, attention to detail amazing & the service faultless, nothing was too much trouble. From booking with the amazing Jade through to delivering our bill to the table, we were delighted with our experience. It’s a real shame that there are not more of these events.

We went today for Mothers Day Lunch and we were so impressed with everything! The Prosecco on arrival was so welcoming and the table layout was amazing. So much attention to detail! Compliments to the Chef, we all loved the food. From my initial enquiry with the receptionist to the waiting staff on the day, everyone went above & beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable visit. I have had many Mothers Day lunches out over the years and we all agreed this was by far the best! Thankyou for making it so special. We will be back!

What a hidden gem! came for a bite to eat at the Rayleigh Club in the public lounge bar, amazing food and such friendly customer service set amongst beautiful scenery, definitely worth a visit!!

We were three friends having a lunch Date. Two of us had a ham salad sandwich, My friend didn’t want red onion in it. Both sandwich were full to the brim with ham and really fresh salad. And a cheese jacket potato. Service was quick, and very tasty. Staff were polite friendly and service With a big smile.

First time playing here today . The course is in fantastic condition. Short course but with its challenges

Our Horticultural Society had lunch here after visiting RHS Hyde Hall. The Rayleigh Club made our lunch a special occasion. Our members had a marvellous time and thoroughly enjoyed the Rayleigh Club’s ambience, service and catering. The food was delicious and in particular the staff were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and their attention to detail was superb. They made it a great day.

Disappointing! Disappointing menu and breakfast

I recently had my 21st birthday party at the Rayleigh club in the willow suite and it was phenomenal! Staff were attentive and really made the experience one to remember. Jade really made my celebration spectacular and did a really good job of organising the food and entertainment. I am gluten free and they were able to cater for myself and others at the party who had allergy's and celiacs, very accomodating. Overall I am blown away and really grateful to all the staff for giving me a 21st to remember!

I just wanted to say thank you for a great evening at our company Christmas Party on Friday night, we all had a lovely time. The food was delicious and the magician and saxophonist were nice touches. I thought the disco was particularly good. The DJ played great music and the dance floor was filled from start to finish.

Christmas afternoon tea with the girls at The Rayleigh Club. The room was beautifully decorated for Christmas, the food was well presented and delicious and there was a great festive atmosphere. Service was fantastic, we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be booking again.

What can I say...?! Lovely venue supported by amazing hard working staff, with the best buffet I have ever had the pleasure to dine at! Booked the Willow Suit for a Birthday party Nov2022, and the organizer made it a very simple and smooth task where nothing was too much trouble! Venue was perfect for up to 120 guests and in house DJ rocked the room. Thanks for a great night!

I have played on the East Course many times now at The Rayleigh Club. I'm a mid-handicap golfer and find the course very fun but also challenging. The East Course is available to visitors and is reasonably priced. The course is also in good condition and the layout of the course is very enjoyable. The overall yardage is much shorter than your typical golf course, with six holes being Par 3 and just one Par 5 hole, so the East Course may be a bit too short for some golfers, but I personally like it. The driving range is also good and reasonably priced. The staff are also very accommodating and friendly which adds to the whole experience. I would highly recommend giving the East Course a go if you're yet to try it ⛳

Excellent service, food and venue for my sons Year 11 school prom recently. My son and his friends thoroughly enjoyed the night and it was very well organised by staff. Thank you

My daughter had her prom here on Friday 1st July 2022 and 12 of her friends all ended up with food poisoning. The children were not allowed anywhere other than the one room booked for the function and there was no drinking water available to the students, one of which needed to take her medication so had to get a cup and drink the water from the ladies toilets. She also has coeliac and diabetes and the only food available was not suitable and she couldn't drink anything as all that was served for the children was fizzy sugary drinks.

Been playing here quite a while but today prices gone up to £24 for a game without any improvements at all and for weeks been playing with shorter holes due to conditions and tee offs roped off yet no discount just price going up £4 when conditions do improve probably look elsewhere now

Played South course. It was ok, holding up well to the spring conditions. At £40 it's over-priced. Nowhere in the league of Toot Hill, Braintree, Colne Valley. At around £25 I'd revise my review. Also annoying that they wouldn't sell food - only crisps/nuts.

Very hilly fast greens some temporary tees on par 3 😖y when u got a lady tee playing next to it y u can't play 10 yards behind apart from that 8 out of 10

Poor round, not even worth £20 at the moment. Bunkers need some sand and a rake, tee boxes are off of the fairway. The rough and fairway are bald with lots of mud patches everywhere. Greens have tons of pitch marks that haven't been repaired and they bobble about everywhere. Enjoyable layout, especially with it being short but still a test with such small greens and drop offs all around them. The clubhouse is great, range great and had an enjoyable day. The course was just in a horrible condition for winter, the course seems neglected.

Had a lovely meal here, food was great as were the very attentive polite and friendly staff. Definitely coming back soon. Oh and they sell beavertown neck oil on tap!!🤪

Greens were a bit lumpy and bumpy, but not unexpected for this time of year. Good clubhouse, good food.

Prices have shot up in recent weeks. 30 pounds a head for this? 60 pounds for 2. See photo. Yep, 60 quid. Absolute joke. Oh, a scone has been eaten. You can eat locally in restaurants for less. Check out The Rose Garden, Lower Road carvery for instance. Won't be going back. Shame. Was good once. Ridiculous. Avoid. A few sandwiches, sausage roll and tea is not worth 30 pounds.

Great course. Tough in places but so it should be. Liked it enough to take a 5day membership, in this weather as well!, but would actually recommend it to anyone who likes a challenge

We had a 100th Birthday Party for my Mother on 20/11/21 and the entire experience was excellent. From the reception staff who co-ordinated the event to the staff working on the evening everything was brilliantly organised and efficiently carried out. The food was excellent and we had no issues with anything.

Great golf course, well kept greens and beautiful environment. Friendly greenkeepers and staff. Good bar and outside facilities.

We had our 4 year old granddaughter's Wake there today. Obviously very sad circumstances 😪. The venue was lovely. Abundance of food. Friendly attentive staff. Beautiful grounds which the children enjoyed playing in. Would highly recommend The Rayleigh Club. Thank you.

Second time here to celebrate a birthday & I’m sure there will be more visits in the future. The venue is lovely. The golf club always seems busy but has a large parking area and all the guests got easily parked. The Ruby room upstairs (there is a lift) was beautifully laid out and has large windows, lots of light streaming in and high ceilings. Lots of space with a nice bar area at one end of the room. We bought our own decorations and large flower bouquets but to be honest the lovely flower displays already in the room help to give it that wow factor. The food once again was lovely, really lovely with good size portions. I heard nothing but praise for the venue & I know some guests have already enquired about future functions. No surprise there. Apart from the above what really makes it is the staff. Jade from start to finish in helping me organise the event via email and a very helpful telephone conversation to Laura and Tom’s professionalism on the day. Laura was as ever helpful as she was last time when we had my dads celebration a few years back. This time she was equally as helpful. Everything worked like clockwork. Tom was super professional and went way and beyond to assist with every need. He & the table staff were fantastic. So many compliments from the guests so once again thank you Tom & everyone for that. It made a great occasion even more enjoyable and much more relaxing knowing we would all be so well looked after. A day truly to remember. Thank you.

Think the courses have went downhill a bit, most bunkers GUR, fairways not great and Greens not Good, clubhouse still lovely, kitchen not opening till 09.00 on a Saturday is a No No for me . Place Needs some TLC

Venue was clean and well organised. The staff were friendly and professional. Would recommend hosting an event here.

I attended this venue for a wedding and I had such high hopes. The setting is lovely with the main building surrounded by the golf course. All guests were directed to the main bar area and outside patio whilst we waited to go upstairs for the ceremony and we enjoyed the warm weather and the views. The wedding co-ordinator advised us when we were due to be seated upstairs and this aspect of the day was fine. After the ceremony we found our way to the function room for the 3 course meal etc. The tables were really close together and it was difficult to get between them, especially for the several guests with mobility issues. The seats were also too close together and we were practically sitting on each others laps. Although the table looked nice and clean I noticed that several of the chairs were stained and looked very inappropriate for such an occasion. We had all placed our menu options in advance and the wedding co-ordinator had a copy of each one. This didn't work too well though as we were served with 2 mains that had different sauces to those chosen, the co-ordinator rather tersely pointed out that we were asked as the meals were being served, this was completely untrue and we were just given the meals with no reference to the requests. The food was not that great, just average really, you could practically cut the soup it was so thick. The waiting staff were pleasant enough but the other members of staff had such dour expressions and it really put a dampener on my experience. The bar did not serve coffee and I was told I could try and get one at the other bar which I did until they shut later in the evening. As much of the event is dictated by the bridal party the staff have no control over the disco, photographer etc but the areas in which they did have responsibility were sorely lacking. We were not permitted to have the doors to the patio open, fair enough if they are fire doors, but the air conditioning was not turned on and a single, large floor fan by the bar simply did nothing to cool the overheated room. People had to go outside to cool down a lot which broke up the atmosphere of the evening. I left the evening early because it was too unbearably hot and with no choice of hot drinks for those of us driving, it was not a pleasant way to round off the day. Overall the experience was clouded by the unfriendly interactions with senior members of staff, several did not crack a smile all evening, this was noticed by many of the visitors and commented upon in a negative way. Not a place I would chose to arrange an event for myself based mainly on the poor customer relations.

Fantastic clean modern club, great atmosphere in and around the club. Look forward to our next visit.
