November evening in London for a folk gig. Stumbled upon the Railway Tavern. What a lucky break! Good beer, good value wine and best of all great pizzas. Warm, traditional bar with friendly and helpful staff. Good atmosphere. We enjoyed it so much we returned after the gig. Thoroughly recommended. We will definitely return if we are in the area again. Thank you!

First time visit with family - had some decent beer. They would get five stars if they have chardonnay or cabernet sauvignon wine by the glass, but alas not ! The meals were tasty and good value

Cosiest pub in dalston. A pleasant and warm interior, friendly staff. Excellent Thai food for very reasonable prices - good portions and range of food. Also good range of beers.

To the uninitiated the fact that there are three decent pubs hidden either side of the dissecting A10 in Dalston Kingland is often missed. The nearby Farrs School of Dancing and Duke of Wellington are also worth a visit but the Railway Tavern Ale House shades it as the pick of the bunch IMHO. A former Charringtons Brewery pub back in the day I like the ambience of this place and the interior has a traditional feel with an impressive tiled fireplace acting as a focal point and plenty of train themed stuff dotted about including some old train transport pictures and a tube map on the walls and a luggage rack high up on the wall with a couple of old period suitcases on it. This pub is owned by the same people that run the renowned Pineapple in Kentish Town and the excellent Tapping the Admiral in Camden so a decent cask and craft beer choice can be expected on the six ale pumps and 8 keg taps. For my latest visit Five Points Railway Porter, Dark Star Revelation, Adnams Mosaic, Thwaites Wainwright and a very decent Pear Russet,Maggs MILD were the available Ales. Can’t comment on the food as I have never eater here but can highly recommend the Railway Tavern Ale House for a beer.

Hands down this place does the best roasts in London. None of this ridiculous fancy presentation and skimpy portions - just loads of honest grub, well cooked and served with a smile. Good selection of ales as well and the Thai food, not served on Sundays, is pretty tasty to. Highly recommended.

Good range of beers, very reasonably priced excellent Thai food, friendly serving staff. But the restroom stall in Gents' was very darkly lit, without a lock. Not to mention the fact it was dirty and dare I say it, unflushed. Also, I respect their choice of not having a website, but a simple and basic website detailing their opening hours, food menu and serving times would be of great help.

This pub seems to combine tradition - such as the style of the building, and the dark wood bar and seating - with the modern - cool decoration and a Thai menu. We really enjoyed the atmosphere there.

Looking for a pub in which to kill a couple of hours we wandered off the busy Kingsland High Street and stumbled across this cracking little place. It was late afternoon so not too busy, but still had a lovely warm, welcoming atmosphere. Good selection of beers on tap and by the bottle. There was no suggestion that they served food, but while we were chatting a menu appeared on our table. I think it was probably around 6pm, presumably when they started serving food. We had planned to eat elsewhere, but it seemed a shame to leave and the Asian menu looked appealing. The food was very enjoyable. I shall definitely seek this place out next time I'm in this area.
