The Rabbit Rooms in North Down

Been going to rabbit rooms for a few years and it had been great, brilliant food so many choices, till recently food has gone downhill not much choice and didn't taste very good either. Such a shame, my husband and I loved this place and always went on special occasions.

Great food, the hottest chicken wings in town!

Took our daughter and granddaughter here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was empty. We were served quickly and order was taken. We order the burger, chicken goujons, fish and the kids fish fingers. The food came out and was just OK, fish was mushy, and the fish fingers weren't fish fingers but a larger piece of fish (granddaughter wouldn't eat it as it wasn't what she ordered). The goujons were OK. Frozen chips as well. We expected more as we had heard good reports about it. We wouldn't rush back .

Had food & drink in the bar on a Tuesday evening. Barmen were friendly & attentive & remembered our drinks order for our next round. Guinness was extremely good - beautiful creamy pint - clearly keep the pipes maintained well. Good selection of music playing but at a nice level where patrons could still easily have a conversation. Recommended

Food was pretty good and staff were friendly. 2 starters, 3 mains and 2 rounds of drink was about £80. I enjoyed the Burger 👍. The place seriously needs a refresh / decorated.

They put on a spread and DJ for my kids 40th , everyone had a great night. What we could remember of it.

A very very popular pub, even on a Sunday night. The staff were very friendly. Basically standing room only. We did drinks only.

Lovely place, went for lunch, excellent service, beautiful food, bar man when out of his way to check if everything was ok.

Popped in as a family group of 9, mid afternoon. The barman was a great host and the food was served quickly. We did visit during a quiet time which made for an intimate atmosphere for our group, we thoroughly enjoyed it and will visit again, thanks.

Right on the corner. Just rating the bar as the restaurant was closed when we were there. Typical neighborhood bar. Food was average, beer was good.

Nice lunch with friends. Two shared the chicken and ribs, one had the seabass and one the fish goujons, which came as two large goujons. Service was quick and efficient

Lovely chicken carbonara and the sweet potato fries were amazing highly recommend this place if you are in Bangor!

They were so nice even though they were understaffed. Things took a little long but understandable given the situation. Great pours and good times!

Lovely little find not many in maybe because the door to restaurant was not unlocked. Menu was good but did not have everything on it which was a shame.

Service was excellent lovely friendly girl,no delay in service ,and could not fault food ,overall grat experience and would highly recommend the burgers and steak.

Love going here for a drink but the food was awful today , rib day and honestly they were awful, lads still ate them as we were hungry and didn't want anything off the bill or anything like that but when the man asked how was everything and we told them they weren't great he just walked off 😂 geg . Come here for pints , never food.

Had a lovely meal yesterday evening at the Rabbit rooms. Admittedly my first time eating there and was very impressed. An extensive choice on the menu and something that would suit everyone. Staff were lovely also. Would definitely recommend and will be back again very soon

Really delicious burgers and dirty fries ,service was impeccable, pints were cold ,decor a bit tired but who really cares about that ,definitely be back ,thanks again

Lovely place with character. Staff friendly and food even better. I'm a vegetarian and it's hard to find good food. I had a veggie bean burger and it was one of the best I have had. Price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend it.

Took my girlfriend last week, we ordered the mussels and squid. Extremely expensive, some of the dearest seafood I've come across in Bangor. The upstairs restaurant is looking very run down and dated. Have never had food poisoning before, but this certainly was food poisoning. We had one glass of white wine each, and aren't big drinkers. Didn't feel right for days afterwards. Great music bar and venue that I genuinely love, but will never be back for food again.

Nice pub with a fireplace which add great value to the atmosphere. Great Guinness and also Guinness 0.00 on draught.

Been here regularly and had great food but tonight was poor! 3 of us were all very underwhelled with our orders! Doubt we will be back!

Ate here on St Patrick’s Day 2023 with my wife - she was very impressed with her mussel portion and I loved my Irish Stew (which I believe was a St Patrick’s Day special). We were offered a seat in the main bar or in the tiny little “snug” in the corner - we took the snug and felt like VIPs in our own private room, and we were certainly treated as if we were important anyway! We’ll definitely be back.

Great buy one, get one half price mussels on Mondays. Upstairs now closed on Mondays but food served in the bar downstairs was great. Lovely open fire too.

Had dinner and drinks here last night and it was brilliant. Fantastic food (I had the battered goujons and chunky garlic chips - delish) and drink! Loved the tunes that were playing and the warm fire was a welcome addition to what was a windy, chilly night. Have always loved this little spot and was nice to return to it after so many years. Love it.

Back for more ate her half a dozen times this past year's food is always spot on reasonably priced lasagna was very good I'll be back .

Had our staff party there, the room was beautiful and the staff were so attentive!

Great service nice vibes warm fire

Was there as part of a pub crawl, but I have to say, it is one if not my favourite bar in Bangor. The atmosphere, the aesthetic and the mood in the place is lovely. It often feels like a home, with the cosy size of it and dim lighting. Sometimes also going for food, which is also lovely. I have to say, as far as bars go, it is one of the best I’ve visited.

Went in on Sunday evening and it was lovely and quiet. The waitress, who had an English accent, was brilliant. She was so friendly and made us feel comfortable instantly. She was so great with our 6 year old paper plane loving son. She got him more paper to make more. The food was tasty and we were so comfortable. Couldn't have asked for more. Please give that waitress a raise!

The Rabbit Rooms is a quirky yet tasteful spot by the Bangor Marina with scenic views by the windows only topped by the friendly and hospitable nature of the staff here. And those aren't even the best parts. The food served here was absolutely delicious 😋 and left me yearning to come back to Bangor.

Great craic and had a fun filled night with a couple of friends and some newly introduced to folks on a break. Wine and beer all good, wine not cheap but very tasty and the staff are easy on the eye...lol

Food is now awful, shame it used to be excellent.

Called in this evening for mussels Monday night deal. Menu in bar showed buy one get one half price. I showed the waiter who was a nice chap the current online website which showed Mussels half price on Monday. He advised me he would inform the kitchen. On paying the bill we were billed for buy one get one half price. I didn’t fancy a handling, therefore payed the bill and left. The mussels were very small and not good value even at fully discounted rate. Service was very good. Disappointing

Awk the Rabbit Rooms really is a little gem. Food as always really good and I shall say it quietly ( reasonably priced!!)

Friendly and helpful staff. Portion sizes could do with bit of an uplift. I had fish, chip and mushy peas and to be honest was still a bit hungry. At £15 I would've expected just a bit more. Food was very nice though. Finished off with a Baileys cheesecake £6 and coffee £3.50

Took some of my students here. Good menu choices, food was pretty good, gentleman serving is was very pleasant.

We visited the upstairs restaurant which has lovely views across the marina. Excellent chicken wings to start with and the mains were very good too. Friendly staff.

Very good bar overlooking the sea in the heart of Bangor. Decent crowd for a Wednesday afternoon. The staff and customers were very friendly, and helped give the bar a really nice ambience. A decent variety of beers and other drinks to try.I will certainly be back, and definitely enjoyed a couple of lazy hours in this really nice bar.

Really nice friendly staff. Food was very nice and quick service. Could do with a decor makeover. But overall I'd recommend it.

The quality of the food is only matched by the quality of the service. The mussels were tasty, my wife's seafood pie was delicious, and we never felt pressured to leave. The service was attentive but not pestering, and the banter was great. My wife recommended this place from her time over here on an internship and it did not disappoint. Will be coming back next time we are looking for dinner in the area.

Had a great meal when visiting friend's in Bangor at the weekend. Frankie, our waiter, for the evening was fun and made us very welcome. The food was amazing and excellent value for money. Thank you 😊
