Good service Single room had everything I needed

Stayed for two nights ,it was lovely but we didn't get milk for tea and coffee replaced

This is a lovely hotel to stay in. The location is great and is on a road with lots of shops and takeaway food options if you don't want to use on the on site restaurant. There is a large free car park to the rear of the property which felt safe to park in. The room was comfortable and had all the basic equipment. My only gripe was that there was nowhere to sit. I did find the room too warm for me but understand that this is personal preference and for others the temperature would probably be good. However there was a large fan provided so this helped by creating some airflow. The bed was very large and comfortable. It was two single mattresses pushed together to make a large bed. It was slightly uncomfortable over the join where the two mattresses met but I quickly got used to this and it did not affect my sleep. The bathroom was fantastic. The shower was a large walk in that was big enough to fit 2-3 people comfortably. It had two shower heads, a large fixed rainfall head and a movable traditional shower head. The temperature and pressure was great. There was also a separate bath which I did not use but was a good size and had a seat built into the side. Internet connectivity was excellent and was fast and reliable with speeds of 50+ mbps which was great to have. My only negative was the room I was in was next to the 24 hour access door and so this was noisy at times with people coming and going but this is only a small issue and would not affect others in different rooms. Overall I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would happily stay again if I was in the area again

Always work away and try to pick hotels to which are clean, tidy with good service

I had a lovely stay at The 'R' Inn and was welcomed personally by the Manageress from the roadside when I couldn't find the location due to me misreading the Sat Nav! When I arrived fairly late (21.00) the bar was open and I was shown to my allocation by the same lady. I had a lovely very clean, tidy and well made up little room, which was adequately stocked with tea and coffee making facilitiies, widescreen TV, a shower and lots of clean towels. At first, I was worried about the temperature with the single fixed window, as it was quite a warm evening when I arrived but the powerful and quiet free standing electric fan did an equal job to air conditioning and I slept like a log. My only issue was I couldn't work out how to change the channels on the TV remote, so I watched several episodes of 'Everyone's talking about Raymond'! There is adequate parking at the rear, of the building, which has a security floodlight. Despite being located in a busy little village, it was very quiet and I would definitley visit again and the 'R' Inn comes highly recommended for those travelling light. Need a place to stay? We R inn!

Just what I expected. However I was disappointed that there was no tea bags in the room.

Good size, clean rooms. Reasonable pricing, Pub across the road, Inc it's own bar onsite. Polite respectful staff. Definitely worth a visit/stay if passing👍

Only stayed one night, but the room was spacious with a large comfortable bed with two pillows, wardrobe, tea making facilities, large TV on the wall, and bedside cabinets. The bathroom had a toilet, sink, shower, and a corner bath with very lovely taps. The hotel did have a very large bar area with many large round tables ideal for a wedding venue. Although the website for the hotel states they serve tapas, this is now incorrect. The reception is not open 24 hours. When the front door is locked, the usable door is up and down steps, which is not ideal for the disabled. But overall I did enjoy my stay at this hotel and I recommend the Indian restaurant nearby.

It is so difficult to rate this place. It's not in a great place. We didn't even see the grass shown in the photo! The area is more 'back of the shops'. Our room was bright and apart from the carpet, very clean. We asked for it to be redone, which it was, but there wasn't any obvious difference, so service was great but didn't achieve anything! Light switches in the room were all in the wrong place - eg behind the doors or not within reach from the bed! Finally only snacks available between 5pm & 9pm. That's when the in-house club-bar is open. Ok for locals but no breakfast or evening meal available!

A quiet and clean hotel. The room was perfect and the bed was comfortable enough.

Quite a nice and quiet area with a pub across the road which never got very busy. Getting to rooms can be a bit confusing, especially if you have multiple rooms for the family, etc. Service was good, but the staff are not always there and provide alternative methods to ask for assistance. The rooms were extremely clean and had all the facilities you would need for the night. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

I had asked not to be given a bedroom in the attic as the stairs are incredibly dangerous. I was assured our room would be over the ballroom. But we got number 5 up 2 flights of the dangerous stairs. Once up there. The room is very comfortable and has a fantastic shower. They don't do breakfast. The staff that greeted us were very friendly ❤️

The place is what it is. Receptionist really nice.

Cost effective, very clean, great service. The bar is decent, with a few good beers on. The rooms are simple but well cared for.

Went for our Xmas party, great value they'd made the place look lovely. I would be giving it 5 stars if they could make the dance floor just a bit bigger

Room was small but clean, nice bathroom. Main issue was there were functions on both nights of our stay, one of which we were advised about, but it wasn't made clear the restaurant wouldn't be available at all due to this. We booked the second night separately and the WiFi stopped working after the first night. By the time we realised it felt too late to do anything about it. Also the room wasn't serviced so milk etc wasn't replenished. Agreed we could have raised these issues at the time but were in our pj's by then after a long day out so just didn't have the energy.

Arrived to eat and have a cocktail or two :) ordered food and drink and arrived quickly unfortunately my food was only aired the plate cold which didn’t help I expressed this the young lady serving us the flavour of my meal chicken and chorizo was fabulous but not hot which was dissapointing but it was a nice portion size Pattata bravad was hot and drinks good nice atmosphere and chatty waitress helped will be back this week I hope cheers all :)

Ordered off just eat to have my order cancelled with no explanation no phone call and to be sat waiting for it turn up for an hour

This was a last minute decision to stay for a night and on the whole good stay with 1 point.On arrival I was allocated room 16 when I went in it looked and comfortable. It was a very cold evening and as I walked in noticed the heating was off and the window open. I closed the window and turned the radiator on all good so far.I then went to the bathroom which was small but big enough for me but there was a horrible drain smell.The smell went into the room and was unacceptable and if being cynical I would say the heating was off and window open to try and damp the smell down.That being said when I highlighted this to a member of bar staff he managed to move me and It was so much better.The price paid i was unsure if they would move me but my stay in the end was great, not sure i would return in case i was allocated that room again, but to summarise clean comfortable and nice.Just sort that room out and be great.

Stayed here with a workmate. Check in was smooth and at £34 for a double room, good value. I'm very fussy with cleanliness and this place passed the test. Beds were clean and the bar does great food at reasonable prices. They have different nights ie Steak night on wed two rump steaks and a bottle of wine £20 and the steak is excellent. They also have a tapas menu .Plenty of parking at the rear, yes i would recommend this place.

I went to a wedding at the venue. What a beautiful place. I would definitely recommend a visit if you have never been here before. The food was delicious, staff very polite and nothing was too much trouble. I personally didn't stay in the hotel but family members did and they would certainly stay again. They said it's one of the nicest places they've been to.

I was really impressed with the wide variety of different tapas dishes. All cooked to perfection. Delicious food , would highly recommend. Service could have been better.

I went to the r inn with my family and had a really great meal, my Daughter who is very hard to please said it was the best tapas she had had, the price of the meals are very fair also the drinks are a very good price, the staff are always courteous and very helpful, so I would recommend the r inn.

The menu had changed since our last visit, it was more of a traditional menu. The only complaint was the there was too much and we didn't have room for a sweet.

We are staying at the R Inn so used the Tapas Bar & Grill for a meal and drinks. The food was excellent, the service was 1st class. Can’t fault it at all. Shame we live so far away or we would definitely be returning again. Highly recommended!

We attended for an evening meal, and though it was nice, there were dishes that were inconsistent. I had a plate a of Tapas - now at a much more reasonable price with the new menu, and I enjoyed all the items, but I was disapointed with the chips. Other diners were not so pleased with their meals, though all were as expected. The desserts were not memorable. The R Inn is a charming place and though it could benefit from a freshen-up, the staff are all very polite and the service was quick. Lots of cocktails as well!

We have stayed pretty much every where you can in a radius of 5 miles up here over 6 months. This is the best. Hands down. It’s like a proper hotel except if your red wine down and the door config can be challenging. Food is brilliant. He knows how to cook fish I can say that. Always a good sign in the restaurant in you ask me. Also there is a fair amount to do locally. We have not had to look far at al for an evening event. Very pleased yea.

I have always enjoyed the tapas selection - quality food for reasonable prices. The atmosphere is always friendly and happy. The staff are very attentive. Always enjoy my night out here.

The food was excellent and the service was good. The dining room is pleasant. We had a noisy group of workmen having dinner who were presumably staying in the hotel but they were otherwise we'll behaved.

We won a one night stay with Prosecco and were given room 25. Lovely clean room with a huge en suite which looked fairly new. The down side was that the bathroom smelt of damp, no damp could be seen but the smell was like you get if a damp cloth is left for a long while. A lovely room with a corner bath and large shower which you would not want to use because of the smell. We also found the bed very low with a fairly uncomfortable mattress. Found the staff very friendly and helpful. Easy parking in their own carpark.

We went to the R inn to visit Son and grandkids nearby .

Four of us had a lovely meal here. We had excellent starters freshly prepared followed by a selection of Tappas mains meals. Superbly cooked and very authentic indeed. The young staff were very professional, happy and attentive. The only downside was the usual complimentary after meal drink is now only available at weekends. In our opinion it should be left for the discretion of the manager. Other than that- excellent all round.

We stayed here as we were attending a charity ball that was on here. The week before we had a call from the hotel confirming that we still wanted the room and also advising that there was a function on that night so there would be music.

Stayed in hotel overnight booked two rooms. Excellent value for money.. very friendly staff, clean and smart rooms.

Good Tapas menu, food very well prepared and presented. The night we were there was also steak night, and they looked very reasonably priced, but we had set our hearts on Tapas! Good wine list. All at reasonable prices

One of if not the best restaurant in the area.

Our first visit to the tapas and grill restaurant attached to the R Inn hotel next door. We arrived early and sat in the pleasant garden with our drink before going through to the restaurant. My husband and I chose 4 tapas and one side between us which was more than ample for the two of us. It was served hot and it stayed hot too! They were all lovely. The desserts were very nice too, especially the baked lemon cheesecake. The wine was served at a good temperature and the coffee was good too.

First time back in a few months and as ever, we were fashionably late for our table, although this wasn't a problem... Food and staff were as brilliant as ever and it was nice to see the restaurant area really busy and with a mix of all ages, proof if you needed it that this is genuinely a family restaurant and not just a bar that does food... Congratulations to Kris and the team for the consistency of food and service of this fantastic venue.

Visited with friends for my first tapas

We stayed here when attending a conference and were very impressed. The rooms need a freshen up of paint, functional but not mind blowing but then again this hotel is moderately priced. The reason we would stay without hesitation is because the staff were so lovely, both in the hotel, breakfast cafe (you breakfast a few doors down) and restaurant (Tapas Bar next door). As a vegan they were very accomodating. The restaurant food was lovely and service excellent. We will definitely stay next year

Arrived as a table of two, were told the food will take a while as only one chef was working and normally they have two.

It's almost a year since I last left a review here. In that time we have eaten here many times, sometimes as a couple and sometimes as a larger group. Food and service are consistently good and the prices are excellent... Sometimes we just drop in for a few beers but the welcome is always the same. Keep up the good work and well done to the whole team.

Tapas was very filling, good size portions & good value. The starter breads were plain, needed to be toasted or something. Staff were lovely and friendly. Lovely setting in the restaurant and was warm inside as was cold and miserable weather. Really enjoyed my evening here with friends :)

Four of us went for my birthday, good tapas, with a wide variety. Quite filling for a tapas bar, and it was all cooked well. Good young man serving, and it was a nice experience.

Went last night for steak night, all four of us had fillet steak and all asked to be cooked differently. They were all perfect, so tender and tasty.

Visiting here on business first time ever in the area The R inn what a lovey place to visit the staff are great especially Tyler made me feel at home great service all night long if I had a hotel or restaurant i would pouch him 100% the owners don't realise how lucky they are to have him

The ritz have started doing a buffet breakfast for £5. The breakfast itself was pleasant, there was a choice of bacon, sausages, hash browns, mushrooms, eggs, beans and tomatoes, all were topped up whilst we were there. The plate however was quite small, more of a side plate which made it hard to put everything you wanted on. The tea was Luke warm too as the water had been sitting for some time. Early days for the breakfast and I'm sure that it will get better as it becomes more popular however the space where the food is put would have been very crowded had it been busier. Overall, it's really nice to have somewhere to go in Desborough for breakfast in the morning and we will return :)

Went last night with my wife and friends. I found that the lighting was too bright. This killed any atmosphere from the off. Got our drinks which were nicely presented and were made by cheery staff.Taken through to a table, which had menus but no wine list, still in a room way too bright.Starter of sharing platter was sufficient but wasn't really enough for four. The bread portion in particular wasn't big and was really too thin for dipping.Two ordered tapas. Their food seemed to be ok. I ordered what is described as a 16oz burger tower, chips etc.When it came it was like the film Falling Down. Brioche bun and two over cooked burgers which were not 8oz uncooked weight. Being over cooked, was one thing, but wasn't tasty, it had no salad, and two dollops of sauce which didn't cover the surface of the burger. The blue cheese wasn't even recognisable. The chip portion, compared to others around me was small. There was the smallest amount of sauce on the plate. My friends steak was not medium rare there was no colour in it. Again small portion of chips, tomatoes looked ok. I had ice cream for pudding , I know how much Gallone's ice cream is. I wasn't expecting the scoops to be small and, in a paper take away cup. Plus it was obvious the scoop hadn't been cleaned as my ice cream had red running through it which it doesn't have. Overpriced.The wine at £11 per bottle was good value.Did we complain at the time ? No. Why? The waiter never asked if the meals were ok. He never came back to the table. He was competent but soulless.To add insult to injury I ask for the bill to be split and then added some to the bill as a tip. To be told, " Eh we don't get tips through card sales"was presumptive and embarrassing as I had no cash.I wanted to like this place, but was disappointed. And it's 4am why, because I'm up with a sore stomach.Sadly we were looking at using the venue for a charity event next year. I went with a friend and it was my first time dining here and I was not disappointed. The food was very good and not miniscule like some Tapas places can be. We wanted to order our starter and order main course once we had finished and that was no problem to the staff. All the staff were very friendly and portrayed excellent customer service skills, especially Toby. I will definitely be going again.

Just a few hours in Spain relax in a friendly atmosphere and enjoy the food which is excellent and just the right amount for a Tapa's bar. Eat and be merry , make friends , and have a lovely night out with your wife , Partner , or Girlfriend but most of all make the best of it and think you are on holiday

I visited twice during a visit to catch up with my friend. We had surf and turf on the Friday and sampled cocktails which were on offer. On Saturday we had the 3 courses for 9.99 meal deal which was delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I would definitely return.

Tapas tonight with visiting cousins who couldn't get tapas whilst in Barcelona last week! We all enjoyed our food, ten tapas to share between four of us, followed by variety of puddings, bottle of wine and jug of water too! Great service and ambience. Haven't been for a while and enjoyed the evening as much as the others we have enjoyed here.

Paid a visit to the R INN last week and was so disappointed. Having heard excellent reports from friends and Facebook recommendations I'm afraid it fell short. Food arrived but what was brought wasn't what the description was on the menu. The flavour and temperature of the food was good. Waitress service does however need training. They started clearing pots from the table whilst fellow dinners were still eating.

We stayed the night after the Wedding and Wedding Breakfast. The Meal was delicious, the service was prompt and polite very Professional. The Hotel was in the process of being refurbished, our room was in the old part of the building, the room was small but spotless with enough room for the two of us. The Breakfast was plentiful with Tea and Coffee plus Orange Juice and Cereals.There is a Tapas Bar plus an Ice Cream Parlour, these had been visited the week before and were given a good report. Well worth a visit.

We had our wedding here on Friday 14th July!! From the moment we booked to the day Vikki the wedding coordinated was outstanding helping us with all our request nothing was to much trouble! On the day vikki and chris the owner were so helpful it was amazing couldn't asked for a better venue and staff really made our day!! Amazing service and value

Stumbled across this place by accident and glad I did. The frontage is a subdued affair and almost is unnoticeable. I decided against the fixed price menu and opted for the tapas instead. Food was good quality and I ample sized portions. Service was quick and friendly and overall a good experience. Would I go again? I certainly would.

Myself and my friends would like to say what a great afternoon we had for my birthday and Tyler gave us such top service and made us feel so welcome and there was never a time we ever felt rushed.Thankyou tyler the chef made such great tasting food and we were back for another treat this month.

Visited the tapas bar unplanned tonight (Tuesday) and was greeted with the warmest welcome from Tyler and his team. We arrived around 6pm and was informed of happy hour until 7pm (glass of wine and a pint both for £5 can't go wrong!). We sat in the bar for our first drink then went to sit in the restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 courses for £9.99 and I can highly recommend the ribs and patatas bravas. This place is a hidden gem of Desborough and well worth a visit! Will be returning very very soon! Thank you x

Since my last review a few months ago, The R Inn has pretty much become my local "must go" place. We've eaten here probably four times since the last review and dropped in for a beer a few times too. Always a warm welcome from the friendly staff, excellent value too especially during happy hour. The consistency of quality of the food is also to be commended. An excellent venue for a quick drink or a special evening out and every scenario you can image between the two. We look forward to many more visits in the future.

Some friends and I travelled here from Market Harborough as the reviews of this place are glowing. It did not however live up to the expectations. The food had little to no taste and the quality of the drinks was poor. The service was okay, but the main redeeming factor was the cheap prices (although it would be unreasonable to charge highly for such a poor product). Very disappointed.

My husband and I had our wedding here on 31.3.17.We had a perfect day at the R Inn in a perfect setting.The venue was immaculate, beautifully decorated and increadibly well run.The wedding co-ordinator Vicky was highly efficient yet warm, friendly and discrete and always at hand at the crucial moments.The staff were all well trained and polite and offered excellent customer service. The food was of a good standard and well presented.We stayed overnight and the room was clean, we'll presented and of a high standard too.All of our guests commented on the relaxed and happy atmosphere and the excellent customer service.We had a beautiful wedding in a perfect setting and in short it was faultless.

We went there for dinner and drinks with some friends. The food was amazing and excellent value. Vikki and the all the staff were great made us feel so welcome. Would definitely recommend, see you guys soon.

Always guaranteed a fantastic night out here - staff are so friendly and helpful. Brilliant selection of food as well as various theme nights such as quizzes, bingo and taster evenings all of which are great value for money. The happy hours are also an added bonus! Visited the Tapas bar recently with family for a 30th birthday celebration. It was steak night too which was a bonus! Had a lovely time, food was great, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic restaurant. Highly recommend. Friendly and helpful staff, hygiene of the highest standards in the restaurant.Have eaten here numerous times, the tapas is delicious as are the steaks. The new ice cream bar is a great addition, offering a large variety of ice creams and extras. Great value for money.

Went to visit our good friends who took us to The R Inn. From the time we stepped through the door Vikki made us feel very welcome The food was second to none and the staff were superb and very attentive great atmosphere . Two visits within the space of a month for birthday meals. Basic decor and furnishings even more basic is the service. Its appalling. No friendliness at all and not made to feel welcome. Some of my friends tapas came out with our starters - they had finished their meal by the time our main courses came out and were sat uncomfortably watching us eat. A side order of chips came out just as the last mouthful of the main course was being eaten. Basic presentation of food nothing special. We had 3 bottles of red wine between the table and all 3 bottles were different wines ranging from Italian to Chilean and poor quality. It's ok for a cheap meal but definitely wouldn't recommend for a celebration or special meal.

We came here for a birthday treat for my son and were amazed from the minute we stepped inside. The atmosphere was so lovely, the service was always with a smile and all the staff went out of their way to make our stay perfect! The Tapas food was delicious and even my boys (who are very fussy!) ate everything. To top it off with had dessert at Scoopz and have not tasted anything this good before!! Definitely will be going back!! And would recommend highly!

Superb bar and grill. Friendly staff and really very good food. Happy hour discounted drinks and meal deals. We had fillet steak £16.95 and Double steak burger £12.95 Drinks, Desert and coffees all for £45. Excellent value and really good quality food.

Food is absolutely amazing feel thoroughly spoilt to have such a lovely restaurant like the tapas in our town. We were very well looked after by all the lovely staff too x

We are so lucky to have this venue in our little town. Once called the RITZ FOR MANY YEARS it was forced to change its name due to the big LONDON BULLY BOYS having a go at them. Now operating under its pressent name it has proven a very poular venue. There is the ball room function area then thete is a tapas bar next door. Now a new addition of an ice cream parlour that has proved also very popular. We and many friends have used this venues over the years and continue to do so. We had our EXCELLENT WEDDING BREASKFAST hesr 30 years ago and it STILL ROCKS 30 years later. THIS IS A PERFECT LITTLE GEM ON MY OPINION. Long my itnlast for the benifit of all. WELL DONE TO EVERYONE INVOLVED.

Amazing service and delicious tapas (huge portions!). The chorizo was deliciously smoked and the beer/cheese croquettes were simply gorgeous.The courses were perfectly paced and the staff couldn't do enough for us. I am currently having to use a frame to get around and although I booked a table, I forgot to mention this. However, this was no trouble and without asking we were given an accessible table. Will definitely recommend and I look forward to my next visit!

Just enjoyed the Wednesday evening Steak night. Two 8 oz rump steaks cooked to perfection, 4 side dishes (unless you have a huge appetite one between two is ample). Two large glasses of house red (an Italian Shiraz which is really good), all for £23.50). The service is excellent, professional, friendly and attentive. Cannot recommend this highly enough.

Decided for a giggle, and something different, to visit theirbConference Suite on a Thursday night for their first bingo night. Had a lovely evening. The host could not do enough to make you welcome. The evening was a huge success. Looking forward to the next one.

I've visited this tapas bar many times in the past but have never been in "early doors" to take advantage of the "Happy Hour"... I have to say that as it lasts for 120 minutes, its the happiest of happy hours you're likely to find anywhere. We had a few drinks before taking our table, we weren't the only ones in considering how early it was; certainly there were enough people in to give it a nice atmosphere. As ever the food was fantastic and the staff were their usual cheery selves. So now I can honestly say I recommend eating and drinking here at any time.

Took my son for a meal tonight and very pleased indeed. Not a fully traditional Spanish tapas restaurant but it doesn't make out to be. Food was excellent, great flavours at a really good price. Service was great. Overall had a great time. Reason not 5 stars was espresso came out stone cold but did get changed when hihglghted. Well done The R Inn.
