Good selection of beers and wines including cask guest ales. Can be busy nowadays and difficult to find a seat inside. Outside courtyard is lovely when it’s dry and warm. Food selection not extensive but the pizzas are lovely. Decent gin selection. When busy it’s very loud and difficult to follow conversations. Service is prompt and polite. Go to pub in Higham.

Nice place, we visit every now and again. We went in and ordered 6 pints, the bartender poured them into plastic glasses. We questioned why plastic glasses, she said we can’t cope with volume if we use proper glasses. We questioned this as we could see shelves full of actual glasses. We asked why we couldn’t have these, and she couldn’t answer. We felt insulted as price of pint was certainly not cheap. We walked out, and to add insult to injury in our opinion the bartender chased us outside and said if we walk out and don’t pay for these pints then we’re barred. Really bizarre, but to which we said okay fair enough.

Most unwelcome pub I have ever been in, they claim because it’s a “village pub” it’s acceptable. Staff are rude

Having been here a few times before lockdown I thought it was a fantastic little pub, a lovely vibe, such friendly staff and sensational food. Visited during the pandemic and they couldn’t have been better, took great caution and didn’t let people congregate at any point. The staff once again cannot be faulted, Tracey and Claire are absolute angels!! Cannot recommend this absolute gem of a pub enough, pop in for a lovely pint, a friendly face & the best pizza you will have in the area!

Great pub with a homely, welcoming atmosphere. Extensive gin menu, although I've yet to try most of them! By far the best thing about The Queens Head is their pizzas - Amazing! Thoroughly recommend Liefmans and Erdinger, although I've no doubt they're all as delicious. Thin, crispy hand stretched base with fresh toppings and cooked to perfection 👌2 for 1 on Mondays too makes it amazing value for money. Keep up the great work 😁 I'm your new regular!

Overall great time had this afternoon with friends and family, the staff were friendly and helpful and the Landlord ( I think he said his name was Mac) was incredibly knowledgable of all of his offerings within the pub, and attentive to a degree that would not have been amiss in a fine dining establishment in London. An absolute gem of a venue and we will be back soon ! Thanks to you and your team !

Sunny Saturday so decided to head to the local pub. The queens head is a lovely pub to visit. We had a charcuterie board and side of wedges. Lovely. A really nice plate of food. Variety of draft ales and selection of gins. I went for blood orange gin with ginger ale as recommended by the landlord. Brilliant suggestion. Could spend all afternoon following the gin and Prosecco menu! We often visit this pub and have never been disappointed. Very polite and courteous staff checking all is ok and would we like anything else. Nice atmosphere and thoroughly worth a visit. On a warm day the rear garden is a nice spot to sit and sample the variety of drinks and food on offer.

I visited recently for lunch and I am so pleased we did. What a fantastic place in so many ways! The building is great with really cool décor and atmosphere. The staff are one of a kind, they are so attentive and friendly, you really get a sense of welcome and feel as though you're part of the community. We had pizzas and I definitely recommend them they are home made and really tasty! The menu really caters for food intolerances, there is a wide choice of options. This place is a fantastic venue and I really think this will become something great as it has everything and more to offer. When you're in there it is so warming to see the locals and how valuable this place is, it is family friendly but suits all ages. You won't regret a visit here whether it's lunch out or an evening with friends.

Visited with a group of friends recently and we all really enjoyed our pizzas. They took quite a while to come out of the kitchen but I guess this shows they are freshly prepared to order and the bases were beautifully crisp with plentiful toppings! My only criticism would be the strange names that have been given to the pizzas which seem to bear no resemblance to the toppings - mine was called ‘bierre’ it was olive and prosciutto!?! Wines by the glass her are really good as is the great selection of gins and mixers. We shall be back again soon!!!

We recently visited as a group to have food and a free drinks.... and a good catch up! We all wanted pizzas and our friend was delighted to see you offered gluten free pizza as she is coeliac.... however upon placing her order she was incredibly disappointed to be advised they had no gluten free bases.... the only thing they could offer her were nachos... she really didn’t enjoy these and only ate them to ‘soak up her alcohol’ Our pizzas however were amazing!! Very authentic and with great toppings....I’d definitely eat more of these!!!! The drinks on offer are good with a wide selection of gins and mixers and a decent wine list! With regular live entertainment and a small bit pleasant beer garden we shall definitely be coming back soon - just really hope them gluten free bases have been restocked!

We moved up from Barnet about 7 years ago now. I've always liked a good tasting beer and food. But also like a good atmosphere if needed to. After trying many of the pubs in higham this was the one I felt most at home with. The current owners took it over a few yrs back and have totally transformed it. The only thing it needed was a kitchen which they now have serving amazing fresh cooked food unlike so many other pubs where everything is just microwaved. You can take your family up with no problems at all. Or if you want a lively Fri or sat night this is the place to go as you can have a really good knees up and go home smiling. They are a great team in there and that's what has made it such a great place to drink. Highly recommend it

This was really a lively place, full of family and friends, obviously a warm and welcoming place to the town. Food is OK-- I ha the ribs, which came in a sauce that was not very barbeque sauce-like, and my wife had a pasta carbonara that more leaned towards stroganoff, but both were just fine. Chips crisp, salad good. Really great value-- two entrees, a pint, and a coke were only £17. We were warned that the kitchen was a bit backed up and indeed it did take a half hour from ordering to being served. If I could offer a little helpful advice, the condiment bottles did not appear to have been cleaned for while, and the lid on the mustard was cracked, but everything was fine inside. Immaculately clean restroom, really a family place that puts some effort and thought into such things. In a pretty part of town as well!

We were visiting the area to a check out a house we were thinking of buying and went to the Queens Head for lunch. We only had time for sandwiches which took a little while to arrive, but were good value for money. A friendly pub. The food that was served to other customers looked really good. We bought the house so will probably go back to the Queens Head.

We have eaten at the Queens Head a few times and the food never fails to be as good as it was on the previous occasion. This is what we call proper pub food served by welcoming staff in a friendly atmosphere. I would highly recommend the pies, always full of top quality meat and the pastry is so light and crisp.Pub food like it should be, honest, great value for money with a large selection of pub favourites to choose from made by a great chef.We will continue to eat at the Queens Head as there is no where else that can rival it.Yum, yum, keep up the good work. The beers are also great too.

We spent two nights in Higham Ferrers and visited a very nice Indian restaurant the night before but wanted something simpler the following evening. Initially we walked past the Queens Head, it didn't look too much like the images on their website, bright lights, football program on the TV but the Griffin opposite looked too expensive and up market so we came back to the Queens, and we were glad that we did! We managed to find a table away from the TV, the was a couple near us who had just finished their meal and seemed to have enjoyed themselves, then our meals arrived...... there was plenty of it and although the presentation could have been a little better it was really very tasty! The staff were really nice and welcoming, we even got chatting to the landlord at one point. There is a good atmosphere to this place, the food it hot, tasty and very good value, we will defiantly be calling in again!

We stayed here on two occasions, in our campervan to the rear of inn. Quiet and good location. We enjoyed a nights sleep during both our stays. The staff at the inn are fabulous, welcoming and friendly and the owners are really doing a great job. The food was delicious and the ambiance of the inn was just what you’d hope for, log fire burning in the hearth, dog friendly and lots of positive chatter. I’d recommend this as a stopover and eatery.

We came to Nassington to collect something my wife had bought online and figured, while we were here, we would try it for a late lunch. I went to check if they allowed dogs (we have 2, beagle and shihtsu) and were still serving; as soon as I walked in the door it felt warm and welcoming. There were quite a few folks in but it was genial rather than crowded, and the music was actually background rather than live gig level (a rarity these days, it would seem), so also seeing the cosy fire and the water bowl for dogs made our decision inevitable. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and efficient, and our order was taken quickly for a shared Camembert to start then beef sirloin and pork belly mains which didn't take long to arrive and, when they did, what a treat! Quite the best Sunday dinners we've had in a long time, with top-notch roasties, beautifully done roast carrots & parsnips and a scrumptious cauliflower cheese. For me, if the food is good enough the only accompaniment should be an optional twinkle of salt & pepper and so it was here; all was cooked to perfection with excellent flavour and any additions would have spoiled it. They only had two ales on the pump and one was GK IPA (I never touch it) but luckily they had a fine local Nene Valley Brewery session blonde which went very well with my meal. The doglets settled in very quickly, which is always a good measure of the ambience, so all in all this was a brilliant spur of the moment choice. We will definitely be back and I would heartily recommend it to anyone who likes a traditional local pub with atmosphere and excellent food - well, who doesn't? :)
