Visited in December and we’d heard it can get quite busy because of their Christmas lights so we got there around 4pm and were planning on staying for food…we arrived and there were two tables with people on them so we were pleased. I sat with my son and 10 month old daughter and my partner went to order the drinks. He returned with Prosecco in a small plastic cup which had cost him £8.50. I went up to the bar and requested a glass. There were two members of staff behind the bar and one of them said they had ‘changed over because it can get quite busy and people go outside with their drinks”, I said I completely understand but I’m just going to sit there with my family to enjoy it which I didn’t think it was an outrageous request since there weren’t that many people in the pub. The second member of staff proceed to shout “no, you can’t have it.” I said ok and when I turned my back they started laughing while they stood behind the bar. Completely immature and unprofessional. We finished our drinks and left. I’ve had a negative experience in the past but it was years ago and thought it was a one off but after this and upon recounting our experience to other people who have been they’ve said they’ve also had not very pleasant experiences with staff and even owner, we won’t be returning.

I had a simple Ploughman's and my friend had the most amazing huge beef and ale pie , the likes of which I've never seen . Loved the atmosphere. Quirky outside space and family friendly.

out of the way pub, priddy is a "ribbon village",very old building, very quaint, outside seating area a little "tired". "pub grub" with a specials board, good portions, but not the tastiest of foods, butcombe beers, part of the beer trail within the area.average experience

This pub is a rare beast these days, good food, good beer, great atmosphere and great staff. It is right up there in my top three best pubs having spent 40 years searching...

Excellent food - lamb shank, ham egg and chips and kids sausages. Full of character, very friendly service and reasonably priced - wish there were more pubs like this!

Only went for a pint and crisps but would return. Very friendly and helpful staff. Adhering to COVID regulations.

We had a holiday in Priddy so we could tour round. This pub was excellent, really careful about being covid secure. We ate and drank outside a couple of times. The food was great, tasty and home cooked. The beer was good, service great and prices reasonable. Extra care was taken to keep guests safe, but that didn't detract from the atmosphere or service. Would recommend.

I have alwsys told people of the best ploughman's in the area. But due to lockdown the menu has changed a bit. My best friend and I have eaten there before but her partner never got the chance. So for our last get together before they move to Spain we met up. We had a fabulous meal and a good laugh before our goodbyes.

Awful pizza, I’ve had nicer frozen pizzas . Nothing like a wood fired pizza. Garden peas with everything and no alternative. Not taking part in the government eat out to help out scheme so we paid full price and were gutted

We came across this pub by chance on a walk from Wookey Hole. The beer garden was almost full and there was a constant stream of people arriving. We ate in the garden. I can recommend the steak and ale pie. All very Covid aware.

(For those of you that play PoGo, there are also a couple of PokéStops, as well as a couple of other Gyms, all within walking distance.) This was our last meal before our short break ended. I would recommend going during the day, so that you can take in the surrounding countryside on the drive/walk there, especially if you are coming in from the Wells area: it's breathtaking! There was no Chilli Con Carne on offer the night we visited, so I ended up having the Chicken Madras, which tasted homemade. Unfortunately, my husband's Gammon meal appeared to him to be a bit soggy. I also didn't feel like there was a very good range of Desserts on offer.

We stayed for one night after Xmas shopping at the Clark’s village in Street. This lovely Inn with rooms is only 5 miles away. The welcome and check in from the lady at the desk were fantastic. She was naturally polite and helpful, not put on at all. Our room was very clean and spacious with everything we needed and lots of hot water for a relaxing bath. Homemade cookies were a nice touch too. We ate in the pub and can also say that this was a lovely experience with great food and a roaring fire. All staff were very friendly and provided fantastic service. Breakfast the next morning was also great with locally sourced ingredients. We will return, Thank you.

My wife and I both have Shepton connections but had never been to the cafe before. Having g recently retired, we called in for a toasty and a sandwich. The food selection is brilliant, prices really reasonable (no £8 sandwiches here), and the staff really friendly. Sadly, the cafe is up for sale but we really hope to get the chance to return before it closes or goes upmarket.

Booked a table for family of five for Halloween Service was polite and friendly, didn’t have to wait too long for our order and the meals were all hot quantity & quality was amazing. We all had fish & chips but there are other options of things to eat. Definitely value for money and will definitely be returning again

The refurb of this place is of a very high standard and the staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the food lets it down. Primarily, if you don't like burgers or fish and chips, find somewhere else. I visited with a friend and although my fish and chips were good, my friends meal was first served on completely cold vegetables. On pointing this out to the waiting staff, she offered a replacement which, we expected would be a plated meal with hot food. Unfortunately it was delivered as a pile of veg and potatoes thrown together in a tin dish. Not ideal and a real disappointment. Probably would not visit again.
