Had a really good meal this time last year but this time it was extremely poor. Unfortunately we were told at the time of booking we would have to have the Xmas menu big mistake the turkey was dry, the roast potatoes awful in fact everything came on the plate it was like canteen food and certainly not cheap The starters weren't much better either. Certainly won't be rushing back

Very good beer. Nice traditional pub. No background music and good parking. Lovely table by an antique fire place burning g lovely wood logs. Not quite 5*. My main of the suet steak pie was a little light on meat and the service was too slow. We arrived soon after 12.00. Coffee did not come until just before the 15.00 final orders bell. But I really liked the decor and feel of analogy traditional pub!

Absolutely outstanding Sunday lunch at this hidden gem of a pub in Dummer, Hampshire. Roast Turkey was perfectly cooked, moist and great flavour with a generous portion size, together with attentive and polite staff, a selection of beers and wine it really was a Sunday lunch to remember. Even the TV personality Phil Tufnell was in honouring a charity commitment that the landlady Liz had kindly donated for Parkinson's, so it must be a great spot !! Would highly recommend it to anyone.

Before lockdown this pub was a favourite for dinner having great food and ambience. We were surprised at how the place had changed. The food was good but run of the mill pub grub with a few specials a real change from the past. But the real shocker was the stare of the place, frankly it was run down and cold. The walls and fairy light cables were festooned with cobwebs, the fire unlit and the only apparent source of heat a plug in oil filled radiator. So different from the past. The staff were very pleasant and as we said the food good. But the place could do with clean and given the time of year, some decent heating.

We had a loving night with family and enjoyed a nice meal and friendly staff and a good laugh taking part in the pub quiz. We haven’t been to the pub in years (pre covid was last visit) - it seems less of a foody place to be 100% honest. But despite the good offerings being a little more standard pub like….the atmosphere was nice and friendly and the staff were really kind and welcoming. Thank you guys a well earned 4 star review!

My friend and I visit this pub every few months as it is half way between where we both live. We ALWAYS order the same drinks and food and even though we go infrequently we are always recognised and welcomed with a smile. The roast beef sandwiches are the best I have ever had. Went twice within a week, Sunday lunch, very busy and Tuesday lunch, a little quieter. Probably the 6th or 7th time my extended family has eaten here and ALWAYS thoroughly loved our food. The Sunday lunch girls worked their socks off and were absolutely brilliant. This is my second 5 star for this pub. Always try and visit when I visit my mum in a nearby village when we come down from Grantham. There is one very annoying niggle I have and I hope the management can change their policy. They will not let you add a tip to your bill when paying by card. Society is becoming more cashless, and I wanted to tip our superb waiting staff well. Unfortunately, they got far less with the few quid we could, (embarrassingly,) coddle together. I get there is a minor charge, but crikey, please consider a change!! Nomatter what, we will always return to this beautiful, proper pub, nestled in a quintessential country village. Thanks again.

The Queen Inn is as special an English pub that one could find. It is nestled in Dummer Village, a place that dates back to 1087 and is full of thatched roof houses and was often visited by Jane Austen. The pub is run by a lovely woman who has a keen mindset toward service and good tradition pub food. Don’t miss the bangers and mash, and the specials on the menu add a very nice touch. It’s a reasonably priced menu and the food portions are great value. Do not miss it if you are anywhere near the area. It’s a real find! Easy access off the M3 motorway.

Pre booked a table for two to have a meal with a friend. The table we were shown to had been put up against a bench type seat with us both sat side by side looking on to the end of a table that had been arranged for a party of 6+. There was no way one of us could sit facing the other to talk. I felt like we had been shoehorned in and were spectators of the large group on the table opposite us! The food was delivered swiftly and was good. Once we had received our food the waitress checked back to see if everything was ok. After that we couldn’t get the attention of any of the waitresses as they moved from one large party on one table to the next. In the end we got up and went to the bar to ask for our bill. We would have had further drinks if we could have gained the attention of one of the waitresses but decided to move on as that was not going to happen. I have had good service and food here on a number of occasions previously but was very disappointed this time. It was a shame as this is one of my locals pubs. Not sure I’ll be rushing back in a hurry now.

And yes they could & as always they were amazing. ( I could eat them for starters & main! )... So little touches like that make such a difference.Even my dad had a starter & he never does.... it was that good it didn't hang around ! Have been coming to Queen Inn for dinner for a number of years, they’ve had a brilliant “special offer” recently, two fillet steak with all the trimmings, and a bottle of wine(red or white) for £30. A bargain meal but very good quality. On Thursdays, last one is next Thursday, so get booked!! Traditional old country pub, in a beautiful Hampshire village, 5 minutes from M3 junction. Covid rules in place, staff wearing masks, customers wearing masks unless seated, all table service. The menu is all the usual pub fare, but a great specials board and desert board. The gin menu is also extensive. Nice little garden for summer days too.

I was not impressed by the attitude of the landlady. Although I acknowledge that the staff were working incredibly hard, it was easy to note that the staff were very understaffed and appeared stressed and I did not see any support from the landlady at all. Myself and my partner were trying to enjoy a lovely meal which sadly, was more of a shambles than anything else. At one point, I overheard the chef saying “ service” in which one staff member had responded that they are “ stressed and service needs to wait”. I was almost certain I heard the chef/kitchen staff then shouting “ I can’t f***ing do this” and “it’s hotter than the Taj Mahal in here” which, I find incredibly shocking. The landlady seemed to stomp around with a rather miserable facial expression on at all times whilst the staff were almost begging for help or extra support. This is far from the “ queens “ inn. It’s merely fit for paupers.

Went with family Monday 9 December for birthday celebration and booked a table in advance. Didn’t need to bother because the pub quite empty. The service was quick and pub staff friendly and helpful. However it was very cold and only a small electric heater was on to heat the pub. I said I was cold so the staff member moved the electric heater a little closer to us. No log fire we had expected as that is why we returned as it’s always been a warm, cosy, good food pub. Not this time! Another group of 6 also asked if there was any heating on as they were also cold. The reply was that the heating had been turned on early. Maybe that one little heater had! I had rump steak, tomato, mushroom, peas and chunky chips £20. The steak was ok, peas dried up, tomato and mushroom ok and chunky chips (reconstituted potato) far too oily. My husband and son had the Chefs chicken curry which looked impressive but chicken dry, though the sauce was nice. My daughter had scampi and chips and only ate the scampi due to above. An overall cold and disappointing experience and as we left we all said together. Well we won’t want to go back in a hurry.

Haven’t been here for some time so it was great to re visit. The Queens Inn opens at 6 pm. We were greeted by really friendly staff. We had a drink in the garden before dinner which gave us plenty of time to look over the menus. The staff suggested that we took a picture of the specials board (fab idea) so we could see all that was on offer. There is plenty of dishes to choose from and I’m confident that if you’re out with fussy guests, there is bound to be something on the menu that they could find. The mains we had (the lamb rump in honey gravy with sorte potatoes and the chicken jalfrezi) we’re delicious. The range of desserts was also very good. We had sticky toffee pudding with custard and the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake with ice cream. The ambiance of the pub is nice too. Sparkly lights on the ceiling and candle lit tables which create a nice cozy atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

While out walking in the Dummer area we visited the Queen Inn for drinks,I ordered two half pints of lime and lemonade and was charged £6-60 which is very expensive for soft drinks,we sat in the unimpressive tatty garden area and would not sit there again .The inside of this pub would have been a better option to have drinks in as it was very cosy and inviting and the food menu looked nice.

This pub is always a firm favourite of ours and my adult son chose it for his birthday dinner. The food is always good - we enjoyed chorizo and manchego aranchini balls for starter. The main of Cod in prosciutto and the belly pork dish were lush! Staff friendly and helpful and the ales are well kept. Not my thing, but there are a LOT of gins here if that’s your drink

Ordinary pub food, not bad just ordinary. Should be a nice country pub but just misses somehow, but it was busy, so maybe I am missing something.

We have had lunch at The Queens on 2 occasions now and both times the food was excellent. We had fish and chips with a very generous portion of fish.

My brother and I regularly head out for a bite to eat and a drink and we are increasingly choosing the Queens as the staff are great and the food is ‘as described’ which is helpful!

We had a lunch at the Queen Inn after my father's funeral and I have to say that the team there (and Nicole in particular) looked after us with kindness and compassion. We were able to choose a bespoke lunch - with some items from the standard menu and others that we wanted in addition. Food was of good quality and everyone felt that we had had a good send off for Dad. I would not hesitate to recommend.

This is a charming location and lovely traditional pub, but the food is a letdown. Very 1970s pub food. When will places learn that people, particularly ladies, find huge portions very intimidating. Do not order the Lasagne and Chips unless you have not eaten for at least three days beforehand. We were asked to pre-order and they wanted to serve our starters on arrival (we were on time) before we had even ordered a drink. They did agree to hold our main courses after a discussion, as they wanted to serve them immediately after the starter. The whole thing would have been over in 30 minutes. The atmosphere is very nice, and the staff do their best, but really the menu and food needs to be brought into the 21st Century. Maybe it would be a better experience for just a few people rather than a large party.

A few weeks ago we arranged to meet family half way (ish) to hand over their dog to stay with us whilst they were on holiday. Although the pub doesn't allow dogs inside they were very happy to let them in the garden. We had a lovely meal.we decided to go again Sunday for lunch with the family ( minus the dog bit with our 18 month grandson). The service was friendly and helpful. The roast was good and even our daughter in law was pleased with the gluten free info and options. We would definitely go again.

The Queen has just started a once a month charity quiz night(1st Mon of each month). 8 rounds of nicely judged questions + a picture round was a refreshing change from the standard slightly dull Redtooth format. Probably the best quiz I've been to since the Queens College Arms stopped theirs 10 years ago, We didn't even have to move from our chairs as the staff popped round every now and then asked if we needed a top up. Really friendly evening and all money raised goes to a named charity so you walk away having had agreat evening and feeling you've made a contribution. Looking forward to next month and also enjoying the excellent food served at the Queen. Thanks to Martin the quiz master and all the staff at the Queen for their efforts.

Roast dinner on a Sunday was OK, but not amazing. Roast potatoes were essentially boiled potatoes and not much pork on the plate. Have to mention, however that the service was great, so perhaps it's better for a la carte during the week.

OK we arrived an hour before the end of service but ... Menu a bit long for a pub so some of the food good but others Ok. The service was slightly strange. Plates and cutlery were dumped on the end of the table. We had hungry older teenagers with us so ordered s large dish of nachos (which were lovely). However they were served seconds before the main course! Was tempted to send the mains back but knew they would be left drying under the lamps on the pass so didn't bother.

We brought my parents here for a treat when they came to visit for the weekend. The food was really tasty and the pub had a lovely atmosphere- felt busy and cosy but you could still hear yourself speak. My mum has quite a few dietary requirements but that was no problem at all and she enjoyed a really nice meal from the specials board. I had the homemade pie which was delicious. Will definitely be back again soon.

We have been eating here once a month or so, for over eight years. Most recent visit it is clearly under new management. Service was good but when you charge SO MUCH for your meals you have to deliver on quality and quantity. Came away feeling over charged for the quality of the food which was only average and nowhere near as good as it used to be.Shame really because nice pub and location.

The menu was extensive and we were spoilt for choice. As I am trying to follow a Slimming regime before a forthcoming cruise, I chose the burger and chips. However I asked if they would leave the bun off, and instead of chips could I have salad. I said that I hoped the salad would not be a pile of rocket leaves as per the Hall and Woodhouse pub chain, and was assured it would not. My partner chose the lasagne.

Having threatened for ages to call in and try this lovely looking old country pub, we finally got round to doing it at the suggestion of my sister in law and I have to say we should have done it all those years ago. Good selection of beers (I had the Andwell King John) and a good, varied selection of dishes.....can't stand those places that only do a roast on Sundays.....but they had the full menu available plus specials.

We had a baby shower today and it was fantastic. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything run smoothly. The tables where laid beautifully and they had kept a sofa area free for us to use too. The food was tasty and plentyful and drinks (t as and coffees) flowing. Couldn't have asked for a better place to be. All 13 of us had a great time and it's a relaxed enough environment there to be able to have a giggle. We had a dairy free person with us too, and her afternoon tea was fabulous! We will be returning!
