Passing through the area having moved away and thought I'd stop by my old favourite place. They remembered me which was so nice and great to see such a lot of friendly faces (especially without masks). I was hungry so I ordered a soft shell crab and some french fries, I was not disappointed as the food was full of flavour. To be fair I should have known.Good luck guys and see you again when I'm next around.

The waiter brought out the cutlery in his sweaty hands, which was not wrapped in a serviette. When asked if the chicken was sliced or on the bone, he went to find out. He returned 5 minutes later to confirm the chicken was a leg. The potatoes were shop bought already roasted, which were so hard they could not be cut. The cabbage was hard, and the grave was congealed. Waste of money

I give two stars as one of our waiters was absolutely great. The rest was seriously lacking. A half empty pub with a very long wait for even tap water never inspires a good review. We must have seen 5 different waiting staff, none of whom communicated with each other. Whenever we asked to change items (many things such as burgers and items on the childrens menu were not available) we were told the manager would need to be consulted. We chased out drinks 3 times with different people. All with confused looks. I ordered a vegetarian rice bowl which was a tiny plap of what I can only describe as ice cold rice pudding soured with yoghurt. I nearly spat it out and I am by far a fussy eater. Another member of my family also declared the rice inedible. It was a pile of tomatoes, a pile of edamame and huge baton lumps of dried up diakon. Like chewing hairy parsnip lumps. I've spend years in se asia, I love a good rice bowl and as previously mentioned am far from a fussy eater but this was the worst thing I'd seen in a long time. I read to send it back but was met with a terrified stare and another mention that only the manager, yet again could deal with it. I had to wander through the restaurant holding my bowl of yoghurt rice and hairy raw parsnip aloft to find him.I was met with a shrug and "other people seem to like it" I wanted to offer some feedback on what was wrong with it and he again shrugged and I was then apparently dismissed with an eye roll. The rest of the meals were hit and miss. The cabbage was quartered and chargrilled and inedible. The chicken pie was good. The children ate chips as there was an apparent Hampton burger shortage. The vegetarian options boring and unimaginative. I opted for a pint of lager as my meal ta. The pub is clearly run by the overlord that is the manager who's customer service skill are apparently lacking and who the staff appear afraid of or certainly aren't allowed any autonomy whatsoever. One talk dark haired lad with an accent was absolutely cheerful and attentive. Hats off to him.The rest were like scared robots. We were so disappointed all of us for our family lunch out and couldn't wait to leave. McDonald's in the car home thanks. 2 stars for the big lad with the lovely accent.

Fully accept the requirement to check in for COVID track and trace but having to order and pre-pay via their App without my reading glasses made my experience so frustrating, so we left and returned home and enjoyed a drink in our garden. All they have to do is simply take our order in person and when finished request payment by contactless card. The food was cooked perfectly-piping hot, fresh and delicious. The dessert list is small but actually enough. I had the sticky toffee pudding, it was amazing. From the food to wine selection, staff and atmosphere everything was perfect. Bathrooms were clean and perfumed, everyone kept distance.I love when places give more value than what you pay for. I along with three friends had dinner and we all ordered the same dish - flat iron chicken with spinach and skin on fries - the chicken was pink in places, the skin was not crispy but soft and slimy and a garlic butter that tasted awful that we had to scrape it off for the price of £16! The fries did not have skins on and the spinach was one forks worth! We felt awkward to send the food back as we all had the same dish so we picked at it and when plates were cleared I told the waiter it was not good. The manager did not deal with the complaint very well and we were offered free coffees and ice cream not even a dessert of our choice on the house. Throughout we had to ask for drinks and the first gin and tonics we ordered arrived short a bottle of light tonic water! To top it off 12.5% service charge for next to no service. I have eaten here before many times with my friends and the meals have always been good and the fact we live locally it would have been nice not to be treated as if our custom mattered - genuinely worst evening we’ve had in the Prince of Wales!

I visited this pub to meet with friends. Arrived by car and used their car park. So we entered through the garden. I waited outside whilst my friend went inside to sort a table and register etc. I stood to one side on my own away from all tables with no drink or near anybody else. Within two minutes a very large rude pole faced table server appeared and she literally shouted across At me “you have to sit down. “I replied that my friend was Inside sorting a table and drinks. She just said “well you still have to sit down.”I said “where? “She said “have you booked.”I said “I just told you my friend is inside sorting that now” She said very rudely with a wave of her hand “well You can’t stand there!” And then disappeared back inside. My friend appeared 2 minutes later and said all tables in the garden are free so we can sit anywhere. So we did and then Clicked on the app link as we didn’t want to sit inside or queue at the bar with a line of other people. Coronavirus is still here!!!It wouldn’t load. We tried for 10 minutes. Both of us getting some part way and then it froze. We asked someone who was bringing drinks out to the table next to us if we could order. He said “we don’t do table service in the garden you have to go to the bar Or use the app “We looked at each other confused that he had just delivered drinks to the table next to us but “don’t do table service??”In the end we gave up texted our other friends and went across the road to the albion pub. Who served us promptly to the table without an app and were super polite and friendly. I have never been to the prince of wales before and certainly will not go again. It was so rude and unwelcoming. They need to teach their staff some customer service. And get an app that works.

Having spent the day out with the family in Hampton court we became quite famished. Having checked trip advisor we found the Prince of Wales and checked their Instagram, we became very attracted to the idea of an evening there. We were greeted by a host who helped us check in, a very simple process all done through our phones, and walked us to our table. The atmosphere in the pub was buzzing, very comfortable. On to the food, outstanding! Kids menu had a lot of options for their needs, very family friendly. I had the Rib-eye accompanied with chips, mushroom, onion rings and even some brisket, I felt very spoilt and looked after. The service in this pub since reopening is truly appalling!!!it seems customers are now just an annoyance and a terrible interference in their day. Having visited probably more than 20 bars and pubs since they reopened after Covid closure I have been mostly impressed with how many have managed the service and flow of people whilst keeping safe customers and providing a friendly and even speedy service. The prince of wales is the opposite. It’s seems they don’t really want you. On arrival you are forced to use a Q code. All other pubs give an option for manual entry of your details. But apparently that’s not an option. Do the Q code or leave. Even if your phone can’t do it. Then You have to queue at the bar whilst watching staff stand around instead of serve or bring drinks and food to you. Because they only have one person serving and don’t do table service to the garden. Despite having twice as many seats outside as inside!!!! Oh and it’s summer so everyone is outside. You are then made to feel terrible for expecting to be served within 20 minutes. And the app they use takes so long to fill in the details as they don’t store anything from each entry. The last order I placed took 35 minutes to arrive - one pint!!!! Ridiculous. Quite honestly don’t waste your time going there. It’s an awful experience. There are other local pubs that will welcome you with a smile and good service. Whoever is in charge of staffing and systems should be ashamed and probably fired for not making improvements when it clearly isn’t working! The location of this pub means it’s always been an easy and popular place to go but it’s now such shockingly bad service it will be the last on my list.

Finally we able to get out somewhere!!We missed our favourite pub, amazing food, great staff and situated in Hampton court. This is our escape from living in inner London, hop on the train all masked up from Clapham junction to Hampton court. Enjoy your day and wear a mask!We didn’t really know what to expect as we haven’t been to a pub since the virus but it was normal just more space within the pub itself to have that 2 meter isolation requirement. I noticed that the hot points were being cleaned regularly which was really good. Can only pay by card at the moment as we watched quite a few people trying to pay with cash however it does clearly say card only or cashless payments.Food is great, we had two courses and I was full through half my main meal. The portion size is great for the money, if I was going to criticise it then it may be a little to big, I had the Mac n cheese croquets and two would have been enough but you get three, I then had haddock battered fish and chips and that was a large portion too so there was no room for pudding! If you visit on a Sunday then your in for a nice pub roast!!Pub venue, very clean, toilets are clean, lovely outside garden area and spacious tables inside, also a nice front space garden area as well. After the pub you can have a nice walk by the river or if you fancy a bigger walk you can walk to Kingston as what we do to burn of what we eat haha.

I bought a bottle of wine at the bar whilst waiting for her to arrive and went for a mid priced red Cotes de Rhône and it was not very nice, drinkable but poor quality for the £30 price point. We were seated in the dining area at a round table and other tables were set for larger parties and the one close to us was set for 4 people.

We sat in the area just to the right as you go in through the garden as it was a bit quieter and it was very pleasant.

The food was really good, and the menu had a lot of variety of roasts to choose from. However the service was absolutely awful, we were left for 30 min before anyone took our orders, the waitress had a very bad attitude towards us as soon as we got in and was rude the whole night. The service ruined the dinner for us and I will not be coming back. Such a shame considering the food is very good.

Firstly easy to pass as its much more appealing on the inside with lots of well lit space. Well priced menu with many options and a good range of beers to add. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent - certainly the best pub in this area. Very considerate regarding allergies and were very honest with regard to Gluten options. Whats not to like - would recommend.

Had a lovely evening in the sun in the terrace area at the back. We visited just for drinks and enjoyed a few gin and tonics, then decided to get some food too. Our order was pretty random but we were glad we ordered what we did - baked Camembert, pork bites and a side of mash and gravy. All of them were very tasty but we were not so keen on the chutney being mixed in with the cheese so asked for more on the side but it was very sweet. There was not enough bread with it either but the staff were really good about bringing more.

Been here a few times and always enjoyed the pint and food. Today’s lunch was really nice , which made me write this review. Nice beer and a jug of Pimms. The food tasted freshly prepared enjoyed by all of us including fussy 6 year old. Nice big portions of Sunday roast and fish with equally good sides of chips, veggies and tartare sauce. Friendly service. Thank you.

We as a family always try to search for the best yet simple food. We saw this restaurant out of chance and we decided to give it a try. The food here is absolutely outstanding and the servers a amazing friendly. The baked camembert is to die for and the gravlax is out of this world. We also had the fish and chips for mains and the delicious curry. The curry was something the no-one would have thought to eat here but its one of the best curries around and as for the fish and chips, it is crispy and moist and the chips were fried to perfection. The dessert was good but the mains were the stars. All I can say is don't judge a book by it's cover on this one.

Came here this evening with the family after a great day at the Hampton Court Flower Festival and have to say all the staff were so attentive and friendly and very good. We all ordered Chicken roast dinners which were really delicious! The chicken was tasty, the Yorkshire pudding and stuffing was delicious and the veg were wonderful, especially the beetroot. The sun was out also so we sat outside which was a big garden and has lots of shade if you want to stay out the sun. Will definitely be coming back soon! Thank you so much for such a lovely meal and making my mums birthday extra special x

We ate here prior to a Hampton Court music event and luckily had booked as it was crazy busy. The drinks were reasonably priced which was good. We ordered our favourite baked Camembert to start and as we always did, we asked for a little extra bread to share between us which came with the starter. The mains were a bit of a mixed bag. The fish and chips were lovely. Gorgeous flaky fish - really nice. My friend and I ordered the flat iron chicken which came with a watercress salad. When the chicken arrived it was drowning in garlic butter and the watercress ‘salad’ was nothing more than a garnish of watercress. Very disappointing. One of the ladies’ toilets was in a disgusting state and could not be used. The final blow was when we got the bill and found that we had been charged for ‘bread and oil’ which we assumed was the extra bread (we had been given no oil). We have eaten this starter in too many restaurants to count (we are creatures of habit) but never, ever have we been charged for a few pieces of extra bread. If we had been told that we were ordering bread and oil that would have been fine but give us the oil at least if we are paying for it. It felt like a really cheap shot. We didn’t stay for dessert!

We have moved to the area after visiting Hampton Court on numerous occasions and felt this was the best area for our needs, thankfully we can now call ourselves ‘locals’ at the prince of Wales. As per our previous reviews the prince always delivers! The beef that myself and my wife ate this Sunday was simply delicious, my wife is from Yorkshire and she said that the yorkies were the best ever, even better than her mother’s, I have to agree!!

We visited today for a Sunday lunch and was very disappointed with quality of the food. The roast lamb cost £21 and had just 2 very small pieces of lamb with under cooked vegetables and my partner had the beef which was blood raw, I understand beef should be pink but this was like raw flesh. No option was asked when ordering. I would expect a lot more when nearly spending £50 for 2 roasts with a single drink each.

We had the burger, king prawn linguine and parmesan and truffle fries. Really enjoyed the food but you're paying restaurant prices for a pub environment and if you don't order at the bar they add table service to the bill.

The quality of the food in this pub is very poor. Burguers were overcooked, sweet potato fries were sour and soggy... The bread we ordered for our 1 year old son was hard like a rock. Food took a very long time to be served. All the waiters were running around. A large glass of a very regular white wine 10 pounds, a bit expensive for a pub.

Came for lunch yesterday and it was great! Fast, efficient and friendly service, plus very tasty, generous food portions. I had the linguine plus crusty bread as a side - It was fabulous. My husband had the flat-iron chicken which he loved and my mother-in-law had the fish and chips - She said it was one of the best bits of fish she'd ever had (and she's from Blackpool!!!!). Highly recommended and would definitely eat here again. PS - My hubby also recommends the pork belly bites!

Mulberry Restaurantlocation-icon146 Oatlands DriveBritish

Stayed overnight so we experienced dinner and breakfast at the Mulberry. Prices are higher than equivalent dishes in most restaurants, though the view and surroundings are lovely. Onto the food...Tempura would be better described as battered and drowning in oil. Olives were overpowered by vinegar. Seafood linguine was extremely bland, as in it was essentially pasta in water with a few pieces of seafood. Duck breast was the saving grace and was cooked well though accompanying veg was plain boiled broccoli and carrots like you get in school. £100 for olives, shared starter, 2 mains and a bottle of wine and we didn't even have dessert. The couple next to us weren't impressed with their food either. And to top it off, the waiting staff neglected to deliver something the hotel reception staff had arranged for our anniversary. Breakfast was much better. All cooked well and standard English and continental options available

The Tree Houselocation-icon2 Hanger HillBritish

A distinct lack of communication from the kitchen to front of house. The king prawns I had were not de-pooped during prep and were served in some crazy fusion of chilli in a white wine garlic & butter consommé, which just tasted strange. The cheesecake base on the menu so dense you couldn’t eat it and was supposed to be with served with coconut ice cream, however it came with vanilla. No coconut left apparently and no explanation made before placing the order. The huge chunky chips I had with my fillet steak were not cooked enough. And my piece of fillet (although cooked blue as requested) was not the greatest of steaks. A very overpriced place to eat for the lacklustre food and service it delivered. We got the uneaten desserts taken off the bill; almost as though they were doing us a favour. I wouldn’t recommend or go there again. I don’t mind paying those prices if the basics are executed correctly (food & service).
