The Prince of Wales in East Hampshire

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here with a friend. Attractive interior that looks as though it's recently been refurbished. Warm and cosy with a good table and comfortable chairs. We both enjoyed a roast - one pork with crackling and one roast beef. Both excellent with good quality meat, homemade yorkshires, crispy roast potatoes with a nice serving of accompanying vegetables including cauliflower cheese. I asked for gravy on the side which came in a nice gravy boat. All very yummy. Puddings of profiteroles and sticky toffee pudding with a jug of warm custard. The white wine was good and nicely chilled. Very friendly and professional staff. Excellent service and then they just left us to enjoy our lunch and wine. It was busy and rightly so. Thoroughly enjoyable lunch and we will definitely return. It's a little tucked away but quite easy to find.

I am so pleased my friends and I stumbled across this pub, what an absolute gem! The bar staff were incredibly welcoming and despite us arriving just as lunch service was ending they went out of their way to accommodate us having a roast dinner. The roast it's self was delicious, my pork was cooked to perfection and the veggie among us describes the wellington as the best roast dinner main she's ever had - quite the compliment from our resident foodie. Overall this was a fabulous find and the perfect end to our trip away. If only it were a little closer to home.

Roast dinner the best in & around haslemere hands down, followed by pudding mix in with a proper family pub on a Sunday you can’t beat it. Well done to all from start to finish totally professional from all the staff , will be back soon , thank you all 🙏

I have been visiting The Prince since 1970, so it seemed an obvious choice as a location for my 70th birthday gathering. It was a great evening, mainly due to Becky and Nick's wonderful hospitality, catering for 35 people. The beer was good as usual, the spread of food was magnificent, including options for our vegetarian and vegan friends. Becky made it possible for me to arrange a playlist of music for the evening and was constantly on call to ensure everything went smoothly. They were even kind enough to give me a birthday card!

Best Sunday roast around! I had the beef which came with crispy roasties and a fantastic yorkie! Lots of veg too. Also impressed by the wine list which has something for everyone. Recommend the Pinot Noir!!

Been coming here since the 1960’s and a lot more in the last 3 x years! Brilliant food, brilliant beer, brilliant location! Add this with a great team of staff and Landlord/Landlady you have the perfect combination! Love it! 🍺🍻

Took my nan there for lunch....they had a big christening do on...lots of people and as a result weren't serving food as normal....I explained that my nan missed lunch at her care home cos I bought her out....they went out of their way to sort her some proper grub out ...and! Didn't even charge me!....genuinely kind and understanding....made my visit to see my nan more special knowing there's still good people out there. Can't recommend enough and it's a beautiful place to sit and chill. I hope the land lady reads this so I can thank her again. Thankyou x

A hidden gem, we have eaten here several times now and the food is well priced, well presented and delicious. We had a Sunday roast today which was stunning! Compliments all round. The service is spot on and Becky can't do enough to accommodate requests. Thank you for great friendly service, we will return very soon!

Food is always excellent. Today was no different. Treated to lunch, chose the chicken club sandwich and wasn't disappointed, delicious from the first mouthful to the last.

What a little gem found whilst on a hike. Sunday lunch was spot on. I had the lamb which was beautifully cooked as were the roasties and vegetables. My wife had the nut roast which was really tasty. The sweets were equally as good. We had sticky toffee pudding and Eton Mess. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the beer kept well. Can’t find fault with anything. Oh except the weather which was wet for our walk. However the wood burning stove dried us out nicely. So if we are in the area again we will be paying you another visit and I would definitely recommend to anyone else to pay a visit

Our 7 year old son decided he wanted to come here for lunch. He's a wise boy! Between us, I had a burger, my wife had a club sandwich, and out son had chicken goujons and fries. All were home cooked, and well made. We enjoyed it very much. Nick and Becky are fantastic hosts who deserve all the support in the world, in these incredibly difficult times. You won't regret visiting this gem of a pub, set in the beautiful valley.

It is so good to have the Prince open again. The staff are wonderfully friendly and accommodating. The beer is well kept and reasonably priced. Dog friendly in the bar area and a lovely large beer garden.Only downside is that since it reopened I put back on all the weight I lost during lockdown. Can't really blame them for that though.

Situated in Hammer Vale at the edge of the common this is true country pub. Log burner, real ales and great food. Excellent value and welcoming staff. Thoroughly recommended.

My partner and i went for dinner on Wednesday as part of the eat out to help out scheme. Really friendly welcome and very polite bar staff gave us a choice of tables and service was prompt. The steak was amazing, cooked rare exactly as I’d asked, and melted in my mouth. It was delicious and good value as even at the full price it would have been worth it. Dessert was also amazing, sticky toffee pudding, with a choice of ice cream, cream or custard, and was obviously made in the kitchen, no pre frozen stuff going on. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Thanks guys.

We took my parents for Sunday lunch at The Prince of Wales today and were delighted at the service and food quality. We all enjoyed fabulous home cooked roast Beef, Pork and Lamb which is locally sourced and had the most delicious flavour and generous portions. The Yorkshire puddings were yummy and vegetables cook to perfection.By far the best home cooked food around in such a welcoming rural pub - I almost don’t want to let the secret out!

We booked on Wednesday evening to make use of the Chancellors eat out to help out scheme. The PofW is quite frankly a delight. The staff greeted us cheerfully, showed us to our table and quickly got us drinks. The tables were well spread out without losing atmosphere.The menu is what a real pub should be. Short, with good quality options, at a reasonable price. We had whitebait and garlic mushrooms to start with – both good size portions and tasty. Then we both went for the Sirlion steak, rare. All to often rare is medium at best, but this was fantastic. The steak had such a fantastic flavour and was unlike anything served up in many local pubs. A good quantity of chips and salad all helped it go down.The PofW is a cracking country pub on the outskirts of Haslemere, and easily overlooked. We thought it was excellent value, cheerful, and serving good beer and food. What’s not to like? Will most certainly be back.

I just stopped in to see a friend for a quick drink, when I over-heard a lady on an adjacent table complimenting the staff for her vegan burger. Having undertaken veganuary myself, I decided I'd grab a bite to eat. The kitchen had just recently closed but they were very accomodating and said that they would still cook me something. I went for the vegan pizza, wasn't expecting much, but was very happily surprised. I'm not sure if the chef was used to cooking vegan food or not but he certainly knew what he was doing with the pizza. I almost had to remind myself it was vegan.The staff were all very friendly and it's set in a lovely area with a nice pub garden out the front which I imagine is great in summer.All in all a huge success and I'll definitely be going back to try the vegan burger!!

We went here after a walk and paid for 3 hot chocolates and a coffee, there were about 30-40 of us but we ordered and paid first, the staff told us they would bring the drinks over after they had served the que, we were eventually served our drinks at lease 30 minutes later and after everyone else in the pup had been served their hot and cold drinks. What a joke

Food, drink and staff were brilliant. The food was all home made and delicious, The halloumi burger is the most delicious thing I've eaten for a long time and I followed it with the sticky toffee pudding, of which I am a connoisseur. It was the best one I think I've ever had, made in the kitchen not pre bought and heated up like so many I've had. I can't wait to come back and try more.My mum declared it was the best steak she had ever eaten!
