Booked Sunday Lunch for wife’s Birthday, splendid meal, first class service, I would highly recommend The Prince of Wales Pub. Great atmosphere. Thank you. We’ll be back.

My partner took me there for a birthday meal and it was the best steak that I've had in a long time. My partner had a chicken korma, which she really enjoyed also. The service was excellent, and prices were reasonable. I will definitely be making more visits in the future.

Had lunch there. We were a party if 5 and we hadn't booked. The pub was very busy but they made a space for us. Very friendly. Great atmosphere. Excellent food and very good value for money

A classic proper Welsh pub. Big portions with great food. Atmosphere in secondary seating area could do with work, as top down lighting was very bright and felt canteen ish. Main part of pub very nice with lots of history.

This hasn't happened to me before, I walked in and ordered a drink, picked up a menu, and a gentleman behind the bar said, "If you want food, I'll have a table in a moment. People are just leaving " Then he said " we will look after you" And that was what swung it, food staff ,atmosphere, setting everything just worked. So enjoyable thank you 😊

Lovely warm welcome when we arrived. Our 2 large dogs and noisy Grandson managed to take over the whole snug, but the locals were so friendly and took to them straight away. The food was great and the staff were lovely. Will hopefully be back one day

We made a planned stop here on our way to Solva. Lovely old pub with two cask ales on. We ate here and the food was home cooked and very generous portions. We could not eat in the main part of the pub as we had our dog with us. We were in a side room near the bar. The atmosphere was great, very lively and lots of chat between the locals and walkers (visiting the nature reserve) who had popped in for a drink or a bite to eat.

Sunday lunch was mostly frozen veg and frozen roast potatoes

Only a brief visit but really enjoyed sitting outside, taking in the wonderful view with a nice pint of Bass.

Wonderful place. Anyone could spend time just looking at the walls. The history of the place and surrounding, is so fascinating. The real ale [I recommend pints of BASS, but other exotic concoctions are sign posted at the bar. ]. It's a wondrous place and ticks everything in my hand book and bucket list!. A must visit pub for its warmth and history.

Too many filthy dogs. People are more important. Dogs should Not be allowed in adult drinking venue's. Never again and will not recommend.

Brill traditional pub, great portions, lovely staff.

A very good meal here. We booked for a family of 7 and they were able to fit us in. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. There is a lot of choice on the menu. The pies were very tasty. The chips are also very good and well worth the extra calories! Based on the recommendations on trip advisor, I did go for the spotted dick pudding and it was very tasty.

I ordered a chicken madras with half and half tonight. The chips were white and the chicken madras I can only describe as being chicken swamped in a tin of tomatoes. No flavour and defiantly not a madras. I did complain and was offered a free glass of wine. I would not recommend eating here during busy periods. Not happy at all

Massive portion for lunch ! My 2nd visit now! I was struggling to finish it! Great value for the portion that is given. I’ve ordered the braised made faggots ! And there was soo big !!! Staff is very friendly too! Food came reasonable quick! No doubt will revisit again!

This spot is great for casual night out. Food was exceptional and you could tell was cooked fresh. Definitely leave room for a pudding!

My family and I recently visited the Prince of Wales Inn for a birthday meal. The pub was very busy but had a lovely atmosphere. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. My family enjoyed a range of meals from the menu and were impressed by the quality and portion size. I had the Red Chinese Chicken Curry, which was good, but the chicken seemed like pre-cooked cubes mixed into curry sauce, but the portion size could have fed 2 people. The parking here is quite awkward. I was fortunate to get a space in the car park. However, as mentioned, it was very busy, and there were many cars parked along the verge of the main road. Will definitely visit again and perhaps try something different.

Revisited this historic pub after living overseas for twenty years. I used to go there as a kid and sit on the wall with a glass of pop while my dad had a pint inside. During my first 20 years I must have walked thousands of miles over the dunes full of dewberries down to Sker and across to the river Kenfig. Amazing fish and chips for three. We had a small portion which was big and excellent. The best my wife has ever had. Lovely staff, great service amazing venue. The locals are so kind and helpful, genuinely nice people. Full of stories and great to spend time with.

1st time here & it was a very good experience. Booked a table for 2 @ 5pm on a Saturday. We arrived on a really nice summers evening & all of the garden table were occupied (a good sign) Service: 10/10 Very quick, polite & knowledgeable. Atmosphere: 10/10 Typical country pub. Food: 10/10 A little more expensive than other establishments we have visited but we'll worth the money as the food was of superb quality. Toilets: 10/10 Spotless. I'm not sure if there is an overflow car park but we grabbed the last space in the main car park which is not very large. Overall experience: 10/10 Will definitely return & recommended to family and friends.

Always a friendly welcome here. Food is absolutely beautiful and it's perfect for a drink outside whilst taking the view. Fish & onion rings are favourites of ours here.

Firstly it’s a constructive review of my favourite pub ! We went for a lunch time meal for my father’s birthday ! service was great staff were lovely and everything was well cooked BUT 4 out of our 5 meals were very disappointing tasteless fish & faggots were poor quality! I did tell the waitress and she blamed it on customers liking plain batter? And shugged her shoulder’s it’s been our favourite pub for food for years but we won’t be back for food maybe the odd drink!I know business are struggling but so are families who just want a special treat to be just that

Didn't eat, but from what I saw and smelt it all looked good. Had two cracking beers, the Bass is always good here and they had a guest IPA. Love this place.

Birthday Treat and stunning food as always service friendly and welcoming love this pub. Had the surf n turf and my usual fudge cake to finish, Bro in law had the humongous mix grill and MIL had her favourite glamorgan sausage.

Really lovely location, we sat outside on a beautiful day and the sunset over the sea was incredible. Very friendly staff, even though we were only visitors we felt welcomed like we were locals who had been going for years! Ordered a portion of chips to share and the portion size was very generous. Drinks are reasonably priced and lots of variety.

Its always a special treat to visit the Prince of Wales. Took mum there today for Sunday lunch and as usual the food was delicious, fresh and ample portions. Service is always 5 stars and such a warm and friendly welcome. Attention to detail too,...

We went out for lunch with my mother and we were not disappointed. The tri of lamb chops, ham egg and chips and chicken curry were ordered and every plate was clean after. A very enjoyable meal, and the staff were excellent. We would highly recommend this place but we recommend booking a table to be safe. Enjoy.

Staying in Portcawl for a few nights in an Airbnb. Walked around and couldn’t find anywhere to eat that we liked the look of. Tripadvisor to the rescue 3-4 miles up the road found this place. Rung up and booked a table for 5 people....
