My wife's birthday is Christmas Eve so we went for a lunch rather than our usual dinner. My goodness the burgers are lovely, especially the pastrami burger. The homemade burger was sufficient and topped with a generous amount of salty pastrami it was delicious.

My goodness no one could leave the Poacher's still hungry. The helpings are, to say the least, ample.

Salthouse Restaurant

02/09/2018: Have eaten here many times over the year and it just gets better and Stephanie now knows my order of by heart now the food and service is second to none and I can highly recommend the chicken satay always quickly served and all the staff are good here but Stephanie and Tricia and ally when she is there go the extra mile well done salthouse keep up the good work
23/10/2018: Faute de place et de réservation au restaurant, diner dans le bar. Chowder et tagliatelles aux fruits de mer, avec trop de moules par rapport aux poissons. Trés correct. Ambiance triste

Saltwater Brig

02/10/2018: A very good menu with plenty to choose from and from what I observed everyone there was really enjoying their meal. Four of us were visiting and were very well received, the waitress was efficient, on the ball and we didn't have long to wait on our choices. All four of our meals were splendid, hot and well presented - needless to say clean plates all round. Very good selection of vegetables and the price was very decent which would encourage another visit shortly! Well done to everyone there on making our visit a very enjoyable one.
17/09/2018: Super meal. We arrived at 2.15pm and were warmly welcomed (we had not booked). Table found and menus left. Before taking order waitress mentioned tomato & lentil soup followed by choice of roast was £12.95. Excellent decision to go for it, we both had roast beef. Plate was large, roast beef, brocolli, cauliflower, carrot& parsnip puree, mash, 3 small roast potatoes. Excellent gravy which was plentiful and more offered. We have been before and glad we stopped again. Excellent value for money. Only thing I would mention this is not in Portaferry, it is pub on RHS about 4-5 miles on road from Greyabbey. Smoke car parking on opposite side of road. Well worth journey, especially if you have a good appetite.
