Nice quirky place with a good range of coffee, and cake very minamalist in its decor. Staff are great and it attracts a good eclectic mix of people. I had the sausage roll and a cold dring and they were great. All in all a good place for a chilled weekend brew.

Went with friends for a catch up. We received a warm welcome and found a table to sit at. There is a limited menu which is a good thing and what is available is good. There were also croissants, sausage rolls, tiffins, sour dough bread and white chocolate biscuits freshly baked and when they are gone that’s it! We ordered the breakfast which was 3 scrambled eggs, 3 delicious sausages and a slice of sourdough bread with a chorizo salsa on it - delicious! The oats were delicious too. The owner roasts his own coffee which was very tasty and the choccochino was lovely and creamy. You order your food at the counter and as it’s made fresh there is a bit of a wait, but it is worth it and to just enjoy the atmosphere, the background music and original paintings on the wall. A great place to meet friends, have meetings or to just sit and relax with a good book, coffee and something to eat. A definite place to visit and we will certainly be back.

My wife had been on about going here for lunch for some time so popped in yesterday. Was starving and when saw the menu, thought we'd made a mistake. The selection of food is very small and mainly consists of something on toast. Went for what I thought would be most substantial, the Avocado, feta cheese, poached egg, on toast and a coffee. Coffee came and was lovely. Food came and it was absolutely delicious! The toast was beautiful and soft, the presentation was fantastic and taste was perfect. It comes with a sauce I'd never heard of before, Sriracha, a kind of hot chillie sauce (which we went out ad bought straight away. Probably not enough for a lunch but perfect for a snack. All the staff were friendly. Would make this place more a regular if the menu was bigger.

We were visiting Dinas Powys to start a walk and needed a quick coffee beforehand. Admittedly we wouldn't have even found Plug if we hadn't looked on-line for cafes as the outside is so understated as to be almost invisible. Even when we found it we weren't sure if it was open or not as its hard to see any sign of life from the street. However, we ventured in on the basis of the on-line reviews and were so pleased with what we found. The decor is Scandi-minimalist style but manages to be welcoming and cosy and there are a range of seating options from separate wooden tables to sofas and a large communal bench with a range of coffee table books. As others have said, the coffee is excellent - one of the best we've ever tasted. We were told that the owner roasts the beans himself. We were so impressed by the place and tempted by the food menu that we rushed back from our walk to get there before they stopped serving food in the afternoon. The selection of food is short but all sounds yummy. There are no specific vegan options but they seemed happy to amend dishes to make them vegan. The food we had was lovely - a good sized portion, nicely plated and great quality ingredients. The service was very friendly and efficient, too and the whole enterprise is obviously a labour of love. Highly recommended.

The Plug is a lovely place to pop in for a coffee and the food, although a small selection, is excellent too. The banana or coconut bread, served warm with butter and icing sugar, is a particular favourite. I like the fact that dogs are welcome too. My only negative comment would be that it sometimes gets very, very noisy in there if there are large groups or small children in there, which can be a bit off-putting if you’ve dropped in for a quiet coffee, but on the occasions I’ve visited when it’s been quiet, it’s a lovely little oasis of tranquillity to take time out for half an hour.

The Plug is my local coffee shop, it's always been a small intimate place to chill out and meet friends and enjoy good quality coffee. It's run by Pete, helped by his brother John and a quite charming young lady, who everyone calls Bes! As a couple of kiwis spoiled by our choice of great coffee in New Zealand, our quest is to seek out the best coffee in the UK. How excited we were when told by another coffee connoisseur in 2016 about this little coffee shop that had opened in Dinas Powys. We have visited regularly since then and have yet to be disappointed. The fayre is simple - coffee and a couple of tasty morsels to keep your appetite at bay. This results in great coffee (and food) every time. The place has simple but contemporary decor and a truly laid back vibe. The owner and his wife, both of whom serve coffee are passionate, warm, friendly and of course deliver consistently great coffee. I would go out of my way to get coffee from The Plug and we have yet to find anywhere on our travels in the U.K. that serves a better flat white.

I have been a regular at The Plug since it first opened and it has gone from strength to strength. Today I was tempted by an evening at their Home Brewing Course. Absolutely unbelievable and I was hooked by their passion for good coffee. The course lasted for three hours during which time we watched a range of coffees being brewed by a wide range of methods. The evening got better when we had hands on experience of brewing coffee for ourselves. Nothing was too much trouble and we were treated like royalty. Coffee, tea and soft drinks were provided as were their now famous 'Brownies', baked on site.Stunning evening! thanks Pete, Bes and Alex for giving us an insight into the world of great coffee.
