The Pirate Restaurant in Pembrokeshire

Staff was very welcoming and inviting. Reduced menu meant a limited availability of choices compared to beforehand. Food was at a great price for the amount that was ordered. Their service was quick, fast and convenient for takeaway orders. 4/5 stars, definitely recommend the food despite a limited menu!

Beware people with the wrong type of disability may feel unwelcome here. Sat outside with husband who uses a wheelchair and has recently had hip replacement too. Took an 'indoor' menu and curtly told to use the 'outdoor' menus as 'that's why they are outside'. Told woman we can't get in as the ramp is very steep with a metal lip. She replied that 'most people in wheelchairs manage it'. Needless to say we ate elsewhere.

I had fish and chips and my wife had a chicken burger. The food was wonderful, nice sized portions and cooked perfectly :) Will visit again if we are in the area

After walking from Wiseman's Bridge to Amroth, we stopped for tea and an afternoon snack of carrot cake and apple pie which were delicious. The heavens opened and we decided to take the bus back and the staff were v helpfully with the bus timetable. We also bought something from the well stocked shop. Will definitely visit again :) 😀

Lovely spot, very welcome after a walk over from Wiseman’s Bridge. We only had cake and tea but it was delicious. The other food we saw coming out looked good. Friendly staff.

Great food and fabulous service, we visited after Coby Parkrun and soon got busy, can’t believe that we have only just found this gem. We will be back, next time we visit.

Stopped for lunch with a large expectation of great things to come and wow did this place deliver! We enjoyed our meal there last year and returned to find even better food and service if that’s possible. The fish and chips are so fresh and service is amazing. Can’t wait to return.

An amazing little restaurant situated on the beach and surrounded by beautiful coastal views. My family and I stumbled across this restaurant on a walk across the coastal path on the first day of our holiday and we went back every day after that. The food was exquisite, plenty of choices, well presented, nice portion sizes and really good value for money. The staff were so welcoming and lovely throughout. We were greeted with a friendly smile each time we visited the restaurant and they couldn't do enough for us even going out of their way to find out bus times for us on a particularly rainy day! They also welcomed our dog in and provide doggie sausages at the till which is a great touch. Thank you for a lovely week of delicious food. We will definitely be back for a visit!

We have given this place 4 tries now and besides the food being very average the service is shocking at each visit ! One time I was completely overlooked whilst the lady (owner I presume) just kept talking to a customer in front of me even though she had long since took her order . This time we arrived at a few minutes to 4 o'clock and there was someone making coffees who didn't even have the decency to turn around and greet us ,it forced the man out of the back/cooking area to ask what we wanted and then informed us that they stop cooking at 4pm , which is absolutely their prerogative but the coffee maker was clearly trying to avoid engaging with us to make sure the clock has passed 4pm Such a prime spot in a beautiful location ,such a shame it isn't utilised to its full potential . Stopped off for quick bite on way to Tenby sat outside Wife had sausage and chips I had a steak pie and chips Sausage freshly cooked she was impressed The steak pie was A1 full of well cooked steak and gravy not a piece of gravy Yes every thing was served in cartons but what do you expect from a sea side cafe cheap and cheerful good portion s nice cup of tea Staff very helpful and friendly very reasonably priced will definitely call again

We’ve visited once or twice each year, in various seasons, but I’ve not left a review before because I usually do that only if somewhere seems considerably above or below expectations (irrespective of whether it’s a beach cafe or a starred restaurant). The Pirate is in a lovely position on the seafront, comfortable and efficiently run. Having eaten here this week though, the food itself seems very average and these days that’s an opportunity missed.

Came here for breakfast….. was absolutely gorgeous. The nicest cooked breakfast we have had in a long time. All cooked fresh, piping hot. Staff were all lovely. Would definitely go back and recommend to anyone in the area

Fabulous breakfast at The Pirate Restaurant. Lovely bacon and sausage and everything piping hot. We visited after coming to Amroth many years ago and it hasn’t changed a bit! I would recommend anyone to visit and enjoy the lovely food on offer here.

An excellent outdoor breakfast on a very sunny February morning. Outdoor meals are served in take away boxes but this wasn’t a problem. Lovely food and friendly service. Looking forward to more visits.

One had fish & chips - one had curry and chips, freshly cooked, plentiful and tasted great. Served by professional but friendly Emily who is a gem. Sat inside watching the waves it’s a brilliant little place with really good fresh food served just to mention the wine is pretty good also. In the area next door to the restaurant is a shop selling some beautiful products, there is just soo much to browse at, fair to say it’s a “ cutie” shop with fab gifts for all. Will be back. Soo close to the sea & yet absolutely spotless thanks to the hardwork of the staff.

We were looking for a good seaside fish & chips, and definitely found it. Enormous portions, and tasted beautiful. Clean plates all round including our children. Staff were lovely and nothing too much trouble including a sorting a take away lemon meringue pie & cream because my husband couldn’t fit it in!

Visited her for breakfast twice on a recent holiday in the area. What a way to start a day. Delicious English breakfast, cooked perfectly and very tasty, accompanied by a good strong pot of tea. Friendly staff, tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and reasonably priced. At times it gets very busy which is good recommendation in itself. Thoroughly recommended and can’t wait to return the next time we are in the area

A great place to stop for a drink and well prepared food, lovely cakes and they know how to make coffee, piping hot. Overlooking Amroth beach so a welcoming stop when walking the coastal path or the walk along the coast from Saundersfoot.

A real gem of a cafe. Right on the sea front. Ample seating. Extensive menu with all food cooked from fresh. This means a wait but it’s worth it!!

Having read reviews on here about Pirate cafe being dog friendly and having good gluten free options, we visited today for lunch. Lovely sunny outside terrace overlooking the sea, so we quickly snaffled the last table. Nice menu choices and very reasonable prices. Plenty of bowls of water for the dogs. Went inside to order - staff really friendly. Order came out quickly and was delicious. We also got doggie ice cream for our dog. Highly recommended.

We had our dogs with us so we went to sit outside when I saw a sign that said dogs allowed inside. We thought great, and went in. There were two sections, one was benches tightly packed together, with quite a few people already sitting there, and another section that was empty with tables spread out so we went and sat in that area. Hubby ordered food and drinks and 2 different waitresses came over with the drinks and food. It wasn't until we finished a gentleman came over to clear the plates and told us we weren't allowed to sit in that section with dogs! He tried to do it in a nice way but it came across as patronising and made us not want to eat there again! There was nothing to say dogs weren't allowed in that area, apart from when we left through a different door a sign said dogs allowed on the left, but technically where we sat was on the left off the door!

We always visit this place when we visit Saundersfoot and this year, we even came twice! The chef is great, food is always nice and he won't send out anything overcooked (we had an order of scrambled eggs which we waited just an extra few minutes as the chef started again as they went over). Staff are lovely and helpful. Can't go wrong here.

We enjoyed a delightful meal as a family of seven... whilst watching the sea roll up against the pebbles. Great setting and the food was delicious. Pizza and chocolate brownie highly recommend.

Sat outside with the dogs on a glorious Sunday lunchtime and enjoyed a cream tea. The scones and the Welsh cakes were delicious. Lovely atmosphere, great view and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

What a lovely place to have a cafe with a fantastic view. We just visited for hot drinks, but found it to be a lovely clean place with friendly staff in a brilliant location. There is a car park around the back of the building, so parking was not an issue. We have been here on several occasions and have never been disappointed!!

Stunning seaside views from inside the cafe & when sitting @ the tables outside. We have visited regularly over the years. Staff always welcoming & friendly. Lovely plates of food, whether breakfast, lunch or tea.

Came here today for coffee and a panini. We were £17 for two hot drinks and two tuna and cheese panini's with side salads. Both were good. The panini's were good quality ingredients and lots of filling. This place is dog friendly and you can sit inside or out. A number of tables so you would likely get a seat. Right on the shore front so lovely views. There is also a gift shop attached and toilets

This dog friendly cafe is gr8 very clean very welcoming gr8 breakfasts & coffee. Have visited there a few times now for breakfast or coffee & will continue to do so. There is a free public car park to the rear & lovely views over the beach to the front. Even my 90yr old Dad was impressed.

We've used the Pirate a number of times for a quick coffee but never added food. This year we've been there at lunch time and found they sell a wide range of homely meals. In particular their pizzas are worth a try. If you haven't got a big appetite I suggest sharing!!

After a walk on the beach on one of our favourite beaches on a rather blustery cold day we decided that lunch would do nicely. We decided on the Pirate as we had been here before. Unfortunately it was rather cold inside and many including us kept our coats on. Added to this was the fact that our server had an awful cold and was coughing and spluttering all over the place. Indeed it was our understanding that staff serving food should not be working in this state! Very disappointed in this usually lovely place!!

I am really fussy when it comes to food in general the breakfast here is always tasty and the staff are very friendly; today after a lovely long walk from stepaside we called for a coffee and a scone and l can honestly say it was one of the best l have ever eaten ( hubby was in total agreement
