Fabulous, friendly and authentic Italian cafe. The Tartufo Affogato alone would be worth the drive down to St. Ives!!! Definitely give it a go, you won’t regret it.

Paid a quick visit to pick up a coffee. Walked past ma y times and have never stopped by. Americano was excellent and nice to have the choice of a double shot in a smaller cup. Friendly and polite service. Will go back again 👍🏻

We picked up a takeaway tea and a coffee ( Illy always good) then sat on the sea facing benches drinking our excellent drinks. The server was very pleasant and chatty without being overpowering. There is limited seating in the cafe but on a sunny day that didn’t affect us.

While visiting Bamaluz Beach, we fancied some refreshing cold drinks. Came across The Pier Coffee Bar, ordered three ice caramel lattes and took them down to enjoy on the sand. A very nice atmosphere and good service.

Such a lovely coffee shop! Ed was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He recommended many walks and places to eat which all turned out to be brilliant :) best place in St. Ives!

Quaint little place at the end of the pier, its not as busy as some of the other places in St Ives which adds to the appeal. Coffee was lovely.

The owner Alex is always very welcoming. The Nutella milkshake is lovely and tasty. Always make sure I go in every year.

Called in here for Coffee, the guy behind the counter was very friendly and chatty, definitely go to this pace if you like illy, he knows how to make a brew.

We had a couple of delicious ice coffees. Very well and properly made coffee, with oat milk option and no hipstery fuss. Nice bright decor as well, lovely place.

Love going to this place, tucked away by Smeatons pier. Lovely Italian owner so friendly and sweet daughter who sometimes helps out. We are regulars every time we visit St Ives.

My partner and I stopped here every morning during our week in St Ives. The coffee is gorgeous - especially the Marocchino! Soooo good!

Best coffee in the uk, amazing!

Have been here several times over the past few years and the food has always been fresh and delicious, drinks always well prepared or local cold/soft and beers. Shame we couldn't eat in this time so Just a coffee and a cake but as always friendly service and excellently prepared flat white and espresso. Will see you again when next in St. Ives.

The illy coffee that is prepared here is delicious and is only one of three coffee shops I will buy my coffee from. I’ve not tried anything else but the cakes looked good.

Our favourite coffee shop in St Ives. We visit it year on year and it always wins hands down. The coffee is excellent and the cakes are delicious and calorie free 😉😉

This is a wonderful place to enjoy some lovingly prepared coffee, a nice Aperol or - if you're really lucky - some of the best snacks Italy has to offer. We love this little coffee shop near the pier, a bit hidden from all the noise and trouble, and we always consider ourselves lucky to find a table, as seating is limited. If you just come for drinks, you can always take your coffee or hot chocolate with you, take a few steps and enjoy them while overlooking the stunning sea by the pier.

Excellent Coffee, made with Love Care & Passion, Many Locals using this coffee shop especially over the September Festival, It is not cheap. but quality shouts, It is the opening hours that really frustrate me, I walked past several places to go to the pier coffee bar, to find on a beautiful Friday , sorry closed have a great weekend see you Monday, I am not here Monday. I understand small business owner operated, but please train and employ somebody, so you can hand over the reigns, or the only other thing is that the owner closes on purpose to trade below the VAT threshold. Such a shame, But I will return next September for my proper coffee fix. Hope you are open. PS I have heard amazing things about the hot chocolate here !

Happened upon this place when in search of a coffee on a wet day! The coffee tastes great! Proper Italian espresso and tasty flat white! Recommend you also try the cake!

The pier coffee is a nice cafe ruined by an Italian family. The owner is friendly and professional. Cafe and cappuccino are delicious.

Stopped at this small cafe for a takeaway latte. There are just a few tables and with only one guy serving, you may have to wait a bit. But the illi coffee is not rushed and you get the perfect brew. Also serves cakes and snacks. Nice place right beside the pier.

Been tricky to find somewhere in the town that serves the best latte as they have either been too weak or too gritty, however this coffee bar ticks the box of best coffee yet in St. Ives.Friendly staff, reasonably priced and time taken to prepare the coffee all contributed to giving this 5/5.

This is a lovely little independent café. Reliably excellent coffee and extremely friendly service. It may be quite busy at times but it is worth the wait!

What a little gem. Perfectly sited almost next to the St. Ives museum and only a stones throw from the more busy harbour area. A spotlessly clean an well appointed cafe serving Illy coffee, a first for me and really smooth. Amazing cakes on sale too. I had a kind of crispy croissant filled with hazelnut chocolate. Fantastic. There are some beautiful pictures and card prints for sale too. Priced much more competitively than the usual high priced coffee outlets. Highly recommended.

Stopped here on a rainy windy day just to be inside. Had a hot drink each. Hot chocolate was one of the best I’ve ever had!

Its quite a small coffee shop but nice all the same. The staff are very friendly and the nutella milkshakes and cafe frappes are lovely. They accept dogs also. They serve alcohol also. Will definitely visit again.

What a great cool setting to sit out the way of hoards walking up and down. Top quality coffee presco. Cream scones and brownies which was served to us in a friendly manner. A must visit with a view

Wow, this place was wonderful the gentleman who runs the cafe was friendly and my husband and I definitely indulged! I had the Nutella milkshake which was gorgeous and my husband had the Nutella mocha everything was lovely. It was clean and we loved the menu. We will definitely come again next year!

A little gem this is, situated at the far end of St Ives town beach. Well worth a visit. Not a big place and the food is all freshly prepared and it is so clean in there. As we are very much cafe people, my partner and I clock up the cleanliness of various establishments. Those who wipe tables, those who don't etc .... This lovely Italian couple from Milan do everything right. They obviously love it here and it shows. This may seem an obvious thing to say, but I noticed the young woman take off her apron when visiting the toilet and trust me, I've seen the opposite in other places! The coffee is excellent as you'd expect from an Italian couple and hot, something else that is not always the case in other places. Normally we just have a coffee and one of their delicious biscuits, but the food I have had there is faultless. Very very good. We're local so don't tend to come here in the summer as St Ives way too busy.

We popped in to the Pier the other day, so that my husband could have a coffee. However, we also chose a slice of the Lemon & Almond Tart and a slice of their homemade Chocolate Tart. We sliced both in half so that we could both enjoy them. Both were sublime, and we’d have the same again any day. However, my husband said it was the BEST Chocolate Tart he has ever had out. Praise indeed!!!

Just popped in for a coffee and stayed for lunch. Small but charmingly decorated. Food delicious, we had bruschetta and tuna ciabatta and wonderful hot chocolate. Friendly owners who couldn't do enough for us.

Having returned to living in St Ives after a few years residing elsewhere I was so thrilled to be able to come back to the Pier. St Ives has alot of really great restaurants and cafès - this is one of the best!!

The only problem with this place is that no dessert from now on will ever compare to their chocolate torte. I'm not ashamed to say that we returned for the torte every day of our visit. The service was extremely friendly and it had the best hot chocolate for miles. Could not beat it. Thank you!

Lovely Illy coffee and cakes, friendly atmosphere

This coffee shop serves really really great coffee. My cappuccino had perfect foam, perfect chocolate sprinkles and a perfect milk to coffee ratio. This was all served at a perfect temperature AND I drank one everyday for a whole week so this review is well researched.

We were on a short break to St. Ives and whilst we were on the harbour, we were looking for somewhere to eat and try the local delicasies for Cornwall.

Went here today for creme teas and scones. Absolutely fabulous, great service,lovely staff,highly recommended 10 out of 10.

Lovely little cafe with well priced and good quality drinks. We had coffees and spritz and they served a free of charge baby-chino for our eldest which is always a good sign of decent service! Didn't try the food but it looked good and well priced for St Ives! The Italian couple who owned it were really lovely.
