Grilled chicken was anaemic, looked more boiled than grilled, with absolutely no grill colouring

Nice spoons, pleasant staff, Leffe in a gin and tonic glass was interesting 🤔

The Picture House was very nice

Staff great and very friendly and accommodating. Food typical bar food but ok and reasonable. However the whole place needs an upgrade. Black walls and dreary book cases make it look so old and dark. Redecorate please!! Just been there for the first time in years and not much has changed. They had the whole of lockdown to upgrade in decor inside the pub and all they did was paint the outside. Not enough. I know a lot of people who won't go there because of the dreary decor and other matters which are best kept to oneself. Come on guys!!! Do something!!! Just been back to the pub recently and hallelujah the place is having a makeover!!! The roof is having work done on it as it has been leaking. Apparently the top floor is being turned into bedrooms to be let out and the bar itself is being renovated. I hope they get rid of all the black walls and library which nobody uses and which just collects dust. Cannot wait to see what work is done!!!

Usual great value wetherspoons. Very nice curry at a decent price with a great pint. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

It is what it is. Trouble with this spoons is that there's the same old people sitting in the same old seats from morning till night.

Good staff pleasant surroundings, all in all Richard and myself had a good time.

A very good spoons one of the best I've been to and I've been to many nation wide half chicken very nice lots of guests ales although the waiters can be miserable slap the food on the table without a word

Went in for lunch. Had the chef special of steak and chips with a drink. Nice food, well cooked but no garnish, would have ordered extras if we knew it was just steak and chips or steak and a baked potato. Good value for money with a good choice of soft or alcoholic drinks as part of the order.

Great traditional food, doesn't matter which pub you are in if is under this same brand food taste exactly this same. Cheap excellent food, in great climate 👌 bit laud but that is what make this place so special every tourist should visit at least once.

1st time here today,Rugby Union on so the place was reasonably full for a Saturday Afternoon,can't complain about anything,in general, apart from very little choice of Real Ale,will visit again, hopefully give a better reflection, K

Garlic bread was greasy , food took 30 mins to arrive, no checkbacks being done to tables, drinks took 45 mins to arrive , because they missed the order and only made them when I showed a receipt and explained I havent received the drinks yet, i had finished the flood before the drinks had arrived

Very quiet for a Friday evening. The staff were lovely. The food was ok, what you expect from Wetherspoons.

Was in Wales for a birthday weekend caving and had the best spoons breakfast I've ever had. Props to the chef working morning of 30.07.23. Very picturesque pub, nice atmosphere and pleasant staff. Nice and quiet in the early mornings.

Terrible wouldn't give it 1 star, our food came out ice cold, even though though the place was full a staff member came over and offered a refund without us raising any complaint about it!!! Never again the carling was also flat the pop was like water

I like spoons normally cheap and cheerful meals and drinks in decent surroundings But I won't be calling in this one again in a hurry. ..generally looking around leaves alot to be desired...what a dump.

Was meeting somebody here mid morning for coffee and maybe something to eat. I arrived and ordered 2 coffee cups and a cola at the bar then looked around for my partner - couldn't see him!! meanwhile, I'm stood at the bar and no less than 2 staff asked me if I was alright or needed anything. I felt that I shouldn't have been stood there - it made me feel awkward! I found my partner eventually and we moved to a table. The pub was very busy for a week day afternoon. We only had the coffee which for the price and refillable was very good.

Typical westherspoons, cheap and cheerful, nothing special but, served the purpose

As usual with Wetherspoons, service and food is pretty good and can’t really complain. The app is super efficient and easy to use, so much easier than going to the bar to order food & drinks. The only issue we had on this visit was the sliced chillies and coriander was missing from the Katsu Grilled Chicken dish, but as soon as we raised the issue with the staff, they brought a separate dish of each, more than what would’ve been on the dish if it had come on the dish originally. Because the problem was resolved without question, I have given 5 stars and will certainly be visiting Wetherspoons again in future.

It was excellent, just walked in off the street, ordered and sat down..was quiet, service was quick, And as always very reasonable prices.

Took the grandchildren for lunch yesterday had a steak that was on offer. Absolutely beautiful.

Busy well liked, WiFi did work. Yet staff were more efficient. Food was good. A Friday afternoon yet only a quick drop in.

Getting very dated needs a refresh

It is the 2nd time that I see the upper floor tables, all full of empty dishes and glasses from previous customers. When asked to clean the table, only half was cleaned. Food is always great and the prices are very good as well. Staff look like they do not enjoy working there. Maybe next time, I will have a better impression. Went again on 18/07/2022 and I have to say that the service was very good, and staff very professional and polite. The food was great as always and you can't beat their value for money.

Dreadful experience, ice in my Jacket potato, complained,to management with no success, got threatened by a kinder garden security person,with no experience,asked to leave never returning to such a shambles

Went for a meal tonight here with a group of adult friends at 9pm. Was asked to leave by the manager as my son was with us aged 17, as he was under age. I asked if it was a pub rule or local legislation. She said it was against the law. I advised her that she was incorrect. So she argued that she was correct and we had to leave. Disappointed that the manager of a family pub doesn’t know the law. So a poor review as her attitude and ignorance spoilt our groups evening.

Poor selection of cider, food only average and place needs a refurb.

It was fine, the ruddles was £1.49. A bargain for the berr drinkers.

Lovely place to visit great food

Very friendly staff but food a bit hit or miss, even for a Spoons. The wraps weren't overly tasty or flavourful and presentation was sub par. Looked like something you could drum up at home for a lot less.

I've been many spoons all over the country this one is just the same as the rest guess that's why we go in

Not unique to this Spoons but so many items have been taken off the menu since they reopened after lockdown. There are very few vegan options left and those that have survived the axe are regularly out of stock. The toilets are always spotlessly clean. If you don't mind well used goods that have been around the block a few times there are plenty of female regulars.
