Fantastic little caffe, blows our local out the water.

Nice country pub, drinks only so cannot comment on food but a nice lively atmosphere comfortable place.

Would recommend the Phoenix Inn for a meal. Went there whilst we were waiting for a collection nearby, my wife and I had the sandwich, I had the lamb with a gravy dip and my wife had the chicken both filled full with the product with thick cut fresh bread...yum yum.

Searching for a child friendly pub, the Phoenix appears on the list. Having booked for lunch there was no child seat, they don’t have any. Asked for a child menu they don’t have one. So why do they appear as a child friendly pub?

Expensive meals and hardly any customers.

Fantastic customer service & the largest battered haddock l have ever seen. Shame l'm not local.

Quite a nice pub with good service. Good varied menu although in our group we all had fish and chips (it was a Friday) which were delicious. The fish was very large! Overall a good pub and would recommend a visit.

Went for dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. Padron peppers to share to start. Were tasty and melted in the mouth. I had the burger and chips. Burger was substantial and impressive in size when served. The burger patty itself was dry though and was not as beefy as I expected. Chips were chunky (the best sort), but I would have liked a larger portion. Offered condiments with my meal. Frees parking and card payments accepted. Mind your head as the beams are low in this old building.

My friend and I had the Persian stew which was so tasty (its vegetarian). The waitress turned the music down a bit for us which was helpful, and was very attentive. I need to take my husband so he can also try that Persian stew!

Food was fantastic. I'm not a huge fan of Sunday roasts but had the lamb and itcwas delicious. Only slight criticism was that we waited ages for our drinks and they arrived after our food.

We visited the Phoenix Inn for lunch during the week of October half term. This was our fist visit. We had a very friendly welcome and were served by two lovely young ladies. Nothing was too much of a problem when my son wanted his burger filling separated, best burger ever was his report! My husband ordered a steak and swapped fries for a salad. The food was cooked fresh and was totally delicious. We will without question return.

Nice pub with good food. First time visiting and we had a Sunday lunch. Not a massive menus ie roast chicken, pork or beef but all done really well. Veg selection was good and included cauliflower cheese. Potatoes were cooked well with crispy edges and soft insides. Served rustic style with garlic rosemary and some parsnip. Really good 👍 Service was great with attentive staff. Only negatives were no high chairs and the tables were a bit sticky.. otherwise all good. Highly recommend. Good value for money.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff, good service in general but pretty disappointed with the roast beef, it was chewy, tough and hard to swallow. Hardly managed to eat just a small piece, we only satisfied with the potato and veg that was nice. I think beef was cut through the wrong side, it was so uncomfortable to slice with the dinner knife. It was a complete waste of everything!

Went for Sunday roast and ordered the beef - I can safely say I had the WORST beef in my life. It was so difficult to cut into and so chewy and extremely difficult to swallow- it was clearly not rested properly and the meat was not cut in the correct way. We barely touched the meat and asked if it was possible to have it cooked more to which the waiter said "no sorry as its already on your plate" To pay almost £100 for our family roast was disappointing. No discount on the bill was offered which seemed ridiculous as our plates were taken from the table all with full slices of untouched beef. If you're looking for a good Sunday roast... I suggest you book some place else.

Date night and a Fab night at The Phoenix Inn many oysters and a master class on oysters and wine with wonderful people .💕Oysters with a selection of great wines . As always Sisi and Andrew delivered the most amazing fun and informative evening in the best of settings with the finest of produce and expertise . An evening experience we will certainly do again .

My friend and I love coming here. We always receive a warm welcome and amazing service, where nothing is too much trouble. Sophie was fantastic yesterday and really made us feel like valued guests. Sandwiches are superb- no chance of leaving hungry. Looking forward now to booking our Christmas lunch.

We have had a meal here before on a number of occasions but this last visit was very disappointing. The service was good and ambience was pleasing, as always, but sadly the food was not to the quality we would expect. The burger could only be described as odd, it was very dense and of an unusual consistency the veal was tough and chewy. Very off putting to risk repeating our experience.

Great to be back to a unique event at The Phoenix Inn again. Andrew, Sisi and the Team did another amazing job. As always, top notch.

Me my wife, Daughter and son in law visited on Sunday 10th Sept for Sunday dinner. Food was superb, waiting staff are young but very professional and attentive. The restaurant is comfortable with plenty of room between tables, with a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend. We will be returning soon.

We had been wanting to go here for a while but were very disappointed. Service wasn't great although all of the very young waiting staff were very friendly. Food was really not good. My husband had a burger which was like shoe leather. Myself and a friend had the mussels which were in a very sweet sauce which was awful! Quiet expensive too for what is essentially pub grub. Will not be returning.

Very expensive food and drinks. They serve a cafe style menu with higher end pub prices. No menus for children so you pay adult prices for kids for meals they split for kids. Rude, unhelpful staff and management. Will certainly not be going back.

Very good service and food for our daughter bday

Chose to have lunch here after visiting West Green Gardens and stopped at 1.30pm. Were given a table for two immediately as it was quite empty inside. A lovely garden and tables for outside eating, but too hot for my wife. We had quite a long wait for service but received an apology, so that was OK. We both ordered Hampshire hog and herb sausages with mashed potatoes and onion gravy. This arrived very quickly and was delicious. My Phoenix ale was tasty and refreshing as was my wife's soda and lime. A good and tasty lunch.

Booked a group lunch for 13 walkers and the pub was very accommodating for our needs and pre-order communications. Fantastic sandwiches and sides all served in the lovely secluded large garden. A great place to relax on a summer's afternoon.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here today. Our server, Sophie, was charming and very attentive. She remembered my sister-in-law from her birthday visit some months ago which made it very special for her. The food and drinks choice is excellent, the atmosphere is friendly and the pub is very comfortable.

This pub has delightfully friendly staff and super atmosphere However, today the food took three quarters of an hour to arrive and was mediocre. I'm sure the burgers weren't home made and the chips were greasy. I was so disappointed as I have had some good meals in this pub.

I wanted a burger, but the only one available was a double burger. It was really disappointing - the worst burger I ate in my life. The burgers (2) were tightly compressed thin round discs, overcooked and nearly inedible. The half a leaf of lettuce and a sliver of cucumber and cheese that had melted and run were the trimmings and equally disappointing. Chunky chips were OK, but the whole dish was not up to standard and it cost £17.50!! Had I been alone, I would have complained, but I was with friends and I was not the host, so I did not say anything. If it were down to me I would not go there again and I would not order a burger.

Was a regular customer but after being abused verbal in car park by the manager I will not be a customer again I was grabbing cigarettes from the petrol station next to the pub then getting a drink with friends It Is disgusting for the face of the establishment to abuse any customer in such a vulgar manor As such we will no longer be regular customers shame as locals too

Thanks to Sisi, Andrew and the Team for another great Phoenix Festival. Special festival menu and food was, as always up to the usual Phoenix quality. Food and bar service was quick and efficient and everyone was just loving the whole festival atmosphere.

I wouldn't normally leave a bad review for a Pub/restaurant in this difficult economic climate, I hope it doesn't put to many people off (by the looks of things most people rate this place 5 star so hopefully my experience is just a one-off), and hopefully the owners see this and can make some sort of change to better their potential for the future. The pub building and interior is really nice, and this pub is in a really nice area, and the staff were really good, polite and quick no problems there... However the reason for our visit was to eat... The Phoenix Inn is not cheap, so you expect food which will at the least be ok. We both had a prawn cocktail starter (£11.25) each - the prawns were the small prawns, pretty sure they had been frozen and the sauce wasn't anything special, I actually had a better packaged prawn cocktail from Tesco for £3 recently with jumbo prawns... The mains came, to be honest my friend said his was quite nice (Ham egg and chips), I opted for the Monster Ribs... Quite literally an absolutely huge serving of ribs which were drowned in BBQ sauce dumped on a plate, there was no effort in presentation at all, the ribs were extremely salty, i left most of them, my friend tried them too and agreed they were overly salty... Sometimes you think you get what you pay for but the ribs were £22.50. They came with a side of chips and a salad which you cant really get wrong... There was no finger bowl or anywhere to put the bones...Deserts were fine, total bill with coffee and 3 drinks was £98 for the both of us, and as a good will gesture the staff did knock off a desert from the bill. Again, the staff were great, the atmosphere was nice, but I really hope the owners read this and change the spare ribs. It is so easy to get them right at no or very little extra cost, they don't need to be giant, they can be a small long rack seasoned with spices, garnished with spring onion and served with a homemade BBQ sauce on the side with a pastry brush so you can add your own BBQ sauce (nice inventive presentation), a few greens all served on a chopping board or slate so you have a bit more room to get rid of the bones. Local butchers around that area will do some really nice spare rib racks, pretty sure these had been frozen too. The leather bottle down the road in Mattingley is very very close in price but the quality of the food is on another level...

Great pub that continues to offer amazing food, service and atmosphere. Their recent Persian New Year Themed night was as good as the previous ones I have attended and proved the usual success by the number of regulars who attended. Sad to see this was not everyone's opinion posting on Google however rest assured the night ticked all the boxes for me and if I was looking for an authentic countries foody celebration, for example Chinese New Year, I would attend a Chinese restaurant or even better go up to Soho, rather than my local traditional English pub offering a themed night...!!!!!!!! We attended to celebrate the Persian New Year Event that was hosted at The Phoenix Inn. It was absolutely brilliant. The traditional menu was truly delicious and so was the entertainment. The service and atmosphere was spot on which resulted in a truly fantastic evening.

Went to the Persian New Year’s party - what a cracking night - brilliant fun for a Tuesday night! The food was to die for and really different - hope to see more nights like this. A lady was performing Arabic belly dancing, which has nothing to do with Iranian culture and persian new year. Overall, as a persian, I do not think that the event represented persian new year and persion culture. Persian new year was just an excuse for the organizers of the event to attract customers and make money, without caring about representing the persian new year properly.

Well never again rude attitude fat women head chef. me my misses asked waitress where are starters were after 40 minute wait.she said they had issue with another table restaurant was dead. So our starter eventually arrived then had head chef stormed out the kitchen and started to give us abuse, and called the waiting staff list’s disgusting women. Hope Andrew the owner sacks her he will never get my Buiisness again. And I will for sure being letting freinds know not to eat in here. If a chef can’t cope with a quiet night imagine a busy night. I really hope Andrew the owner deals with this as if he was in the restaurant tonight this would never happen

I would usually rate higher but after tonight just asking politely to the front of house staff oh our starters are taking a lot longer than usual and she replied oh I’m sorry we did have a issue with another table fair enough and I ask would food be ready soon she replied yea then 5 mins later our food came out looked gorgeous but the. Carnage Happend the head chef lady with glasses in black uniform goes barking our heads off saying we made a massive complaint im sorry but I’m never aggressive and for her to be so passive aggressive isn’t very professional so that was our queue to leave.

Service was great and drinks/food came out at a reasonable speed given that it was a busy Sunday at peak lunch time. Very professional and courteous staff who checked on us several times and the Chef even popped out to greet us which was a lovely touch. The food was enjoyed by everyone and it was a lovely location to be in- surprisingly we have not been before despite being in the area for a year and being within walking distance! I almost rated 4 stars simply due to there being no high chairs however we had read previous comments and were aware this may be the situation so cannot fault the pub/restaurant for that. It was the only thing that could have improved our lovely experience and maybe would encourage the owners to reconsider this even if it meant segregating the parties with children to a specific family area so it doesn’t spoil the ambience for other guests.

Wonderful dinner with friends. I had the rainbow trout which was exquisite. Friends had the roast dinner which was huge and such high quality. Absolutely delicious! Excellent service from friendly staff. The meat raffle was fun and raises money for charity.
