The Parson Woodforde in Broadland

I do not come from Norwich. I visited this pub with my daughter and her family on Raster saturday for lunch. My son in law suggested I try a ping of Golden Jackel bitter. The beer was absolutely discusting.l;it was thick I could not see it. I reauested it to be changed. This was refused by the landlady who said " there is nothing wrong with the beer" Its the worst pint I think I ve had in my 78 years. I will never set foot in that pub evef again.

Have visited beefore,. Lovely setting and atmosphere , very friendly attentive staff. Good menu choices, gf dishes also available. Excellent prices, well worth the money.

Lovely guest house beautiful location free parking

Good selection of beers, larger and wines. Eaten there in the past and reasonably priced.

We have enjoyed several meals, including Christmas, here and will return each time we go to Norfolk.

We've had two fantastic meals here recently, the food was delicious and there is lots of choice. Great service as well, can't fault a thing. Looking forward to going back again.

Delicious lunch with friends. We ordered the liver and bacon, fish and chips and two fillet of hake with pea risotto. All were nicely presented and very tasty! See you again soon.

Literally just stopped for a drink and the landlady was welcoming and friendly despite being very busy, would highly recommend and the food appeared fab too

Me and my wife went out for a evening meal at parson Woodford Norwich I was absolutely disappointed with the service and food, I will not be returning, spoke to Alison the manager and she wasn’t much help either quite rude and told us that she doesn’t care if we was going to write a review….. We have been going to this restaurant for a couple of years on and off. Was highly disappointed

We stayed the night after having a wonderful lunch from their extensive menu. The bedroom was exceptionally spacious and very comfortable and our breakfasts were excellent. Allison is a wonderful host and her staff are all friendly and efficient. A perfect stay. Next time we're in Norfolk this is where we'll head for.

Such a delight to visit. Alison is a very helpful, friendly and attentive host. Food is superb and lovely and hot. We spent our 25th wedding anniversary at The Parsons, such a lovely meal. Back soon to celebrate my cousins 25th wedding anniversary to. Can't recommend any higher than 100/100

Went for a birthday meal. We was a large group the service was good. Food was good. And there was plenty of place to park. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely rooms, a very comfortable nights stay and after a good rest we enjoyed an absolutely fantastic breakfast. The staff are all so warm and friendly, they can’t do enough to help and provide excellent customer service. This was our 2nd stay and we will definitely be back again

From the phone call to Alison to see if we could book until we left it was an absolute amazing experience. The food the staff are fantastic if you have a opportunity visit you will not be disappointed

A lovely pub/hotel serving freshly made food and real ales. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable and come with complimentary tea, coffee, and bottles of water. The breakfast is superb, full of local produce, and cooked perfectly. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. They went above and beyond to resolve a small issue I had, and I couldn't compliment them enough. Thank you for a lovely stay.

What a shame although it was still early seemed staff wanted to go home.Were pressured so they could switch off the coffee machine.Also to close the bar at 10 pm.Dark haired woman was keen to go home..web site says open till 11. This was poor customer service.

Came across this pub by accident when we got diverterted off the A47 during lunch time. Looks very inviting from outside, massive garden. Inside very welcoming, traditional looking pub with fireplace and beams. Lots of choice on the menu, with specials on offer. Staff were very, very friendly, explaining soup of the day and the days daily fish catch available. Large choice of beers available, lots of tables in bar and restaurant area. More than happy for our two dogs in the bar area and made us all feel very welcome. Food was fantastic with large portions ( I'm glad we didn't opt for a starter, but from what we saw, they looked fabulous) Very big piece of fresh tasting fish, lots of scampi, chips were perfect. Could not fault anything about the pub, food, service, everything was to very high standard, quite glad we got lost really, well worth the additional miles, highly recommended.

After a disappointing customer experience I wrote to express my feelings in a very polite way. Obviously the owner has never heard the expression ‘the customer is always right’. Instead of a simple ‘sorry we did not meet your expectations’ and an explanation the owner dismissed my comments and replied in much the same vein as she does with anyone who dares to have an opinion. She is so rude and dismissive of even constructive criticism. Just as well she owns the place or she’d be sacked.

Fantastic dinner! Food here is delicious and reasonably priced. We had the pork belly, prawn bruschetta, sea bass, steak salad and 2 puddings (which they kindly gave us to take away as we were so full from dinner!) lemon tart and brownie. Cannot fault anything about this meal and we are so happy we went.

Food was of a good standard, well presented and with attentive service. Highly recommended as it is the best I have found in the area.

Didn't stay overnight, visited a friend foor food etc. Lovely pub, has all the old features. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. They enjoy visits from dogs too with a designated area indoors and the garden to the rear/side. Beautiful surroundings, really recommend! 😀

Stayed here 01/09/23, in room 1. Beautiful building. Host (Alison?) Was so lovely and helpful. She even arranged our taxi to and from our event. Room was clean, bed super soft and comfy. Has tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer in the drawer and a fan in the wardrobe. Iron and ironing board can be requested. Room was very warm but the windows do open and we put the fan on. Had a full English breakfast (included), which was very tasty, tea, coffee and fresh juices also offered. We will definitely be stating there again in the future.

My family and I enjoyed an amazing meal with our two children on bank holiday Monday. Amazing meals, brilliant service, great selection of ales, fab kids menu (the kids menu pizzas were exceptional) and even the dog was made a fuss of! Thank you - we'll be back soon!

We had a brilliant Sunday lunch here with friends on the August Bank Holiday weekend. We were well accommodated for with our toddler and 2 under 5s. The service was spot on and staff were very attentive. The food was great quality, generously portioned and reasonably priced. We all enjoyed starters, a roast for main and puddings. The ambience was lovely and we felt very well looked after.

Last minute booking but won’t be the last time. What a find, we could not believe how helpful, kind and considerate they were. They went the extra mile and allowed us to pick keys up early. They found us a table for Sunday lunch even though they were fully booked. Breakfast was amazing, we didn’t need to eat all day. 10/10 for everything. Thank you.

What an absolute find . Such a lovely atmosphere and all the staff are so welcoming . Stayed here in room 1 last night having a great nights sleep in a comfy super king bed and great size room. Greeted this morning for breakfast by the lovely chirpy landlady and provided tasty plentiful breakfast . Perfect break would recommend to all 10/10

Anniversary meal. Great quality food. 2 or 3 course lunch menu excellent value. Unfortunately only 1 vegetarian option,so I chose from the regular menu.

I only went for a meal which was amazing - 7 of us, and all meals enjoyed. Father in law stayed in a room and said the bed was the most comfortable bed ever and spacious too.

I stayed here as a solo female traveller on business, and I couldn't have felt more welcomed and looked after. Firstly, my room was absolutely immaculate and nicely decorated with some nice touches such as bottled water etc. The staff were all lovely, but Luke in particular, was so happy, friendly and attentive, he is an absolute diamond! Every business should have a "Luke" working for them. As a gluten-free diner, it was great to see such a large selection of meals available on the menu, and the breakfast options were spot on! Food was presented nicely, with large portions and tasted amazing! The only fault in my whole stay was the TV in the room was a bit sketchy. The volume kept dropping in and out, and the reception was very poor, making it hard to watch anything at all. Overall, this is a fantastic establishment, and I hope to be back soon!!

We stayed overnight in this interesting and simply delightful inn where we enjoyed first class hospitality. According to my husband, the beer was good too! Even during mid-week it was full of diners but did not feel at all crowded. The service was friendly and efficient. Our room was perfect. There's a wonderful history to the Parson Woodforde, which our hosts were delighted to share with us and which we explored further in the nearby church. We would love to return there one day.

Been going here for years, as my local. Its a nice place with reasonable food, however, the owners have lost the pub atmosphere entirely - its just a restaurant, with ridiculous beer prices. They've passed the price increases directly on to the beer customer, by their own admission, which is unfair. I go only once a month, now, instead of twice a week. Is it a pub, a restaurant, or just a hobby ? Worth a visit to decide.

Really lovely meal, good steak and lovely dessert. Steak cooked perfectly. Chips really chunky and tasty. Mushrooms also cooked perfectly. Puddings - sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie.

Friendly country pub that did good food.

Clean room although very small and very, very hot. Nice views over surrounding fields but room extremely noisy. We were woken by a party of 6 returning who had clearly had a lot to drink. We could hear everything they said and lots of doors slamming. To be fair, this has nothing to do with the owners or the establishment itself as there is a notice at the bottom of the stairs leading to the rooms which asks if guests are returning late, they should show courtesy to other guests and be mindful that they may be resting. Clearly this party didn't think the notice applied to them. They continued to be very loud at breakfast also. We had two nights there and the second we got a good night's sleep almost certainly because the noisy guests had left. The pub is situated along a very narrow lane and we saw several cars having to reverse up to passing places. The pub itself though has a very ample and spacious car park. We had a wonderful evening meal here and breakfast both mornings was delicious. The Swannington sausage being very flavoursome. The owner was very gracious and very friendly, chatting away to us about the area and the history of the pub.

I was one of a party of 14 for lunch. Service was excellent, all drinks and food delivered in a very reasonable timeframe, restaurant was busy, staff were friendly and helpful. I have severe allergies and the team - especially Luke, made the whole experience completely hassle free, was given detailed information about their process to avoid any issues. Food was absolutely lovely. Will return soon.

Stopped for meal on a Friday evening. Place was lovely with a nice atmosphere and the staff were very good. Food was very good, steak & stilton salad + a chicken meal were our order. Quality food, well cooked and excellent flavours, impressed. Staff hit the balance between being attentive enough for us to feel cared for but they left us alone when we were deep in couples stuff! What a gorgeous place. My husband and I returned here after visiting for the first time last year. It is now our "home away from home" in Norfolk and we would change our dates around being able to stay here. Alyson and the team are so accommodating and friendly without being overbearing. Clean, comfortable rooms, Gorgeous food for every single meal, great drinks and lovely environment. Can't recommend enough!
