Had a lovely lunch here on 9/02/2024. The food was very good and great service.

Great food brilliant selection. Fantastic service and very good prices. Eat here often with family. Always a great experience. Highly recommend going there for a meal

Every Sunday I take my wee Dad out for lunch and today we decided to take my Dad to the parkville. We called to make the reservation. We sat down and awaited my Dad’s arrival. Once my Dad arrived we ordered drinks. Prior to the drinks being brought to our table we were informed that they don’t allow football colours in the restaurant. My son Arran who is autistic was wearing a grey and yellow celtic training top. The waitress asked if we had a top to cover my sons tshirt. I advised we only had a outdoor jacket. She asked if we would put it on. Having came from the car in the pouring rain our jackets were very wet and I was not putting it on him and explained why. She asked if I could put the tshirt inside out. For anyone who doesn’t understand Arrans need when we go out he wears a visible lanyard. He was wearing it today. We got up and said we were leaving. For someone who has a processing condition he would not have understood why he was putting his jacket on and if he had to take his top off he would have completely undressed. Assuming he was going for a bath. The lanyard was highly visible.After many generations of supporting Angels, castle rooms for family events I could not believe this was the case. How is an 11 year old disabled child in a grey top offending the one couple in an empty restaurant? I have checked your website and signage within the restaurant on my exit and this does not convey this information? What a complete contrast to coming to children in need events as a child in angles with the celtic team. How times have clearly changed.

Disappointing to be honest. Seemed to be short staffed. Food was far from warm enough. Finished starters & took ages to clear plates. Mains were far from warm enough. Standards definitely dropped.

I had lunch here with friends on Friday. The choice of food was good and the servce was excellent . Our waitress was really cheery and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. It was lovely to be treated with such curtesy. Great place we will certainly be back.

Had lunch today, food was amazing. I feel as though I need to review our waitress though. I don't know her name but she was absolutely outstanding. Super helpful and really cheery. She is a real credit to your business. Amazing service.

Work Christmas lunch for 7 people.Shown promptly to our table, provided a selection of menus. Waited 10 minutes before anyone came to take a drinks order. Any subsequent drinks we had to approach staff & ask for service. We had previously looked at Christmas menu online, however this was not the same as the Christmas menu we were given . Not a very festive atmosphere, no crackers or vibe. One of our party asked for no mash on her turkey dinner, result was that all other turkey dinners were initially brought with only mash. Whilst this was rectified,it just added to the poor service . Unfortunately we won't back

Had a lovely Christmas lunch with friends and the food was delicious. Our server was very good but very busy as she seemed to be doing everything herself. Would recommend as on the whole a great experience and we will be back

Great Xmas dinner and good service

We have been going to the Parkville for many years but on Friday 8/12 for the first time the service and food was really poor. Granted it was very busy but the main meal portions were not up to their usual standard. Eg the Steak pie portion was very small and lack of chips( 14 i counted them) really disappointed me. My grandson had to wait a further 20mins after our sweet dishes. I reminded a staff member that it was only a fruit bowl and the scowel i got from her summed the night up. I hate writing a review like this but it was a family night out and was totally wasted. Will we go back. Its going to be difficult as there are so many places available now.

Billing error when given festive menu prices despite ordering from senior festive menu. Wrong drink brought out initially. Food was good. However we did not receive our dessert despite asking twice for it. Cancelled it and left after paying.

Myself and my mum had a very nice lunch here today. Straight from the get go the staff where very attentive. We shared a starter of creamy garlic mushrooms on toasted bread it was delicious and was quickly devoured. For main my mum had the steak pie and I had the lasagne with a side of salt and chilli chips. All the food was amazing and we savoured every bite. I have been in the parkville many times over the years and would highly recommend it to anyone celebrating an occasion, a works get together or simply a lunch date. Thanks once again the parkville staff can't wait to return.

Was at the Parkville on 21st November with my friend for lunch. Had a lovely lunch, I chose from the vegan menu, a wee mishap happened with the starter but was rectified quickly. Parkville is always our go to for lunch or dinner. Would recommend it.

Recently stayed overnight for a wedding. We stayed in Room 2 which was tiny but all we needed. As we were shown to our room, there was a terrible seweragey smell in the corridor, which I believe the bride, who was also staying, had enquired about so we didn't. The room, bedding & en suite were spotlessly clean & the bed was small but very confy. Our room looked onto a very busy main road but we actually didn't really notice the traffic noise tbh. We left 1st thing the next morning as needed to be home early & I didn't realise until I was unpacking that I had left my phone charger plugged in on a dark shelf next to the bed. I could picture it still there but when i called the hotel they were adamant it hadn't been found when the room was cleaned. I normally wouldn't bother but it was a new charger I got with my new phone, not just a cheapy I'd picked up! The girl I spoke to about it was apologetic enough but a little patronising. I was told they would contact me if it turned up but she had enquired & it hadn't been found. It obviously, mysteriously didn't turn up as I didn't hear back from them. Otherwise, our stay was fine, we had lunch on arrival from a massive choice on the a la carte menu & it was beautiful. I would stay again if I needed accommodation in the area & would definately recommend lunch/dinner.

Had lunch here today with my partner and his mum. Although it was very busy, around 1.30pn, we got seated no problem. Good variety on the Set Menu. Food was fantastic, huge portions. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Service was fantastic and very friendly. Only blip was we were charged for our meals individually instead of 3 Set Menu's but was quickly rectified. Lovely place to eat at fab priced. Can't wait to come back. Thank u.

We stayed at the Parkville Hotel in 2022, so there was no hesitation to book again for a mini tour of Scotland with Mum and hubby in 2023. We stayed here for a break on our outward trip and again to break the journey on our return home. The rooms were lovely and it was super to have the same room as last year. Food in the evening is amazing and at such a good price (especially the 2for1 offers), with the most wonderful restaurant staff. Excellent service, despite being so busy on both nights you were made to feel special. We had a little issue with the room on our return journey, which was dealt with immediately and the problem solved. This was done with real care for us, no embarrassment at raising the issue, the lady on duty was excellent. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel. It is so convenient for the next phase of the journey, which for us was Stirling. Book this hotel, you will not be disappointed.

Very poor service, had a voucher and was told it wasn't scanning due to a technical problem which was an all day problem. Spent nearly £100was there for about 6 hours had to stand our gun to get £25.00 taken off bill, we were told we would need to come back, shocking service.

First pint was flat starter came and prawns were very small and rubbery sent it back main meals chicken were dry hunter chicken not a lot of bbq sauce the waiter on our section was too busy concentrating on the big tables with more people than us the lady with blonde curly hair who was not even working in our section helped us and looked after us I was so disappointed and it’s put me off coming back to here

Pleasant staff Disjointed service

The foods great, always has been. But, we visited on a Tuesday evening, table booked for 5.45pm. We waited 15 minutes for a drinks order then waited a further 25 minutes to place a food order, waited a further 25 minutes to receive. A planned 2 or 3 course meal turned into a single course due to the length of time we had to wait to be served as we had plans later in the evening.

Two for One offer from 4pm is great value!

Steak pie is a must if you visit here

Have been coming once a month mid week to the restaurant with friends for the last five or six months. It really is great - food amazing and always busy! Came with my family this week and they loved it too. Brought our one year old granddaughter who got loads of attention by all the staff! Only thing I’d mention is please don’t put salt on kids chips. Leave that decision to parents. Staff are always friendly and cheerful even when run off their feet!

Love working my way through the new menu. I had the salt and chilli chicken burger with cajun chips. It was lovely. My son had the full hog which was fantastic. Staff where extremely friendly and service was superb.

Staff are unpleasant and not friendly, the male assistant manger is rude and wouldn’t serve us a mock tail for my son. We had to keep asking for things, for cutlery, for drinks, and basically had a terrible experience. Two of us actually had sickness after having the steak pie. We’ve came here for years but we won’t be back.

Was there for a birthday party, everything was perfect, except the small glasses the spirits came in. Could perhaps invest in some highball glasses. I did ask for tall glasses for the spirits when I went to the bar and barman obliged. Perfect night otherwise

Absolutely FANTASTIC! We were booked in for 19:30, we arrived 8 minutes early and they took our order rapid (we know what we like, didn’t even have to look at the menu) & within 5-10 minutes our soups arrived. Piping hot & fresh as can be. Couldn’t fault a single thing for the starter. Not long thereafter our mains arrived. 2 steak pies with the most beautiful crust you can imagine and the most tender beef I’ve ever had. The roast potatoes were again piping hot and extremely freshly made. Lastly of course was dessert which was an ice cream sandwich (a scoop of ice cream between 2 cookies) and oh my goodness I’ve never had cookies so soft in my life. It was like subway cookies if they were thicker and tastier. But above all the service was absolutely amazing & that’s coming from someone in the hospitality trade so I notice every little thing (unwillingly) and honestly from table setting, to service, to banter. Everything was absolutely top notch. Our server (whose name slips my mind) he was an English guy & he was absolutely charming. Such a lovely character and personality and made sure our evening was as perfect as possible. Honestly can’t stop talking about this dinner I’m a big boy so I’ve had a lot of meals in my time and to say this was one of THE best would be an understatement of the century. The food, atmosphere & service was 12/10, above and beyond all expectations!!! I’m a regular for lunches & breakfasts because it tends to be quieter but after last night I’ll find it hard to not be visiting as often as possible. Extremely satisfied with the price as well. We had a good few drinks, 3 courses each & still would have had change from £100. Absolutely brilliant prices for the quality of food and service. Goes without saying the tip we left was fitting for the service we got. If I had more money on me it would have been more as well! Amazing experience

I visited last night for dinner to celebrate my friend's Birthday. We each had 3 courses from the A la carte menu. My Goat's cheese and pear salad was delicious and my friend enjoyed her prawn cocktail. We followed these with a Chicken Parmigiano and a Hunter's chicken. Both meals didn't disappoint. Onto dessert and we both went for the Nutella cheesecake. It was superb, light and very tasty. The presentation of all our dishes was very good. The waiting staff were friendly, welcoming and very attentive. The restaurant was very busy with every table filled but we had no long waiting times for our meals. We both agreed that it's one of the best dining experiences we've had here and we have been visiting for years. After dinner we went through to the bar for a cocktail and a few drinks before heading home. Great atmosphere and very busy again but we were served quickly by the friendly bar staff. All in all a great visit.

I had to write a review for the Parkville after attending there at the weekend. We go quite regularly as the food (especially the steak pie) is always amazing! However we booked in at the weekend, to celebrate my partners birthday. The restaurant were extremely accommodating after my mother was running late. The service was absolutely excellent. All staff are very friendly and attentive however a special mention as to go to Chloe, who served us on Saturday night (9th). She was so friendly, patient and couldn't have been nicer. She was also a magician, balancing numerous food plates on her arms, to service the table! All in 10/10 - we will definitely be back. Thanks again guys!

First time visiting the Parkville on Sunday for lunch with my dad. I'd booked online and would advise booking in advance as it was busy. The staff were very attentive and took our orders quickly. Our starters were served pretty quickly and were nice however the main courses let it down. I'd ordered a fillet of beef stir fry and it was watery and bland so I ended up leaving most of it. I would visit again and order something different to give the place another chance. Slightly expensive for the quality of food I received.

I invited my 2 friends from work to go for breakfast 1st sept they hadn’t been before I have, they were really impressed, we asked for the drinks to come out with food which they did breakfast was piping hot another ✅ service was quick the 2 girls that were on were very cheery to, defo be back

First time here , found the staff to be pleasant and food lovely so will be back, not the quickest service iv had but wasn’t that bad that I was bothered by it. I had mince and potatoes which was lovely but would he better with the option of puff pastry with it , my dad and aunt had fish and chips which they enjoyed and my aunt had a lovely dessert so no complaints , thank you will be back

Had been looking forward to a breakfast at the Parkville having not been for a while, however we were bitterly disappointed. The negatives, apparently there is no choice of milk for someone who is lactose intolerant. The menu was very limited compared to previous visits. Breakfast arrived and the sausage was so hard it was almost impossible to cut, the bacon was mostly fat and the beans were cold. It was in my opinion it was inedible, discovered that other diners had the same issue. Positives, spoken to staff member and explained the issues and the bill was cancelled. Unfortunately due to this experience I will not return.

As a family we have been regularly going to the parkville for many years but have recently noted a disappointing decline. Attended for dinner service and sat for around 15-20 minutes before being offered a menu or drink on what was a relatively quiet Sunday....

We are regular Saturday Night Diners & returned to the Parkville for the 2nd Saturday in a row having enjoyed our meal the previous week.Our starters were good but the main courses were a huge let down .We waited some time between courses which didn’tbother...

We went here for my sisters birthday lunch. Staff very welcoming, they all go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and ensure you are enjoying your food. Food was lovely as usual. Special thanks to Charlie our server he was a lovely, pleasant...

Updated review Following a previous 1* Following our previous issue with allergen handling I had the opportunity to revisit the Parkville tonight with a large party. I revisited Parkville tonight for my fiance's birthday with a party of 13. Following my previous experience. I was very impressed by the service. Each time one of our party arrived they had a drinks order taken within minutes. None of the party had an empty glass the entire night. I knew I was in safe hands with my allergies as I had assurances from the team during service and those reassurances put my mind at rest. My kids also have a dairy allergy and I was really grateful to the kitchen for prepping a slightly altered meal die to allergies. So thank you for that. The starters were great, mains were fantastic. All dishes were served at the same time and the waiting team was really really attentive. 10/10 guys. It was pretty busy but I don't think we waited more than 5 - 10 minutes between courses which again is a credit to the team ! Thanks for a great night. Really well done. We will be back !
