Came here for Sunday lunch, very good service, good choice of meals on fixed price menu at reasonable price and quality of the food was excellent. Couldn't really complain about anything. Would definitely go back

Had an excellent Sunday lunch, with great service

Friends took us the week before Christmas for Dinner, 3 courses for £30! We got a warm welcome and had a drink before being shown to our table. The room was spotless, well decorated with a nice ambience. We chose a delicious French Onion soup starter, then three turkey dinners with all the trimmings and one lamb shank. For desert it we chose Baileys Creme brule and chocolate brownie with pistachio ice cream. The service was first class and the food was delicious and really really good quality and amazing value especially as there was dancing afterwards with a disco. We enjoyed it so much we went again on New Years Eve where again everything was perfect. Our friends go regularly and if we lived closer we would be there lots to.

Appalling customer service, after having Christmas Day lunch booked since May the Chef/owner has decided he can’t be bothered to cater for 3 vegans so has cancelled our booking. At £95 per head that’s the kind of service the customers get here. Very obnoxious man who is obviously not interested in his customers at all. Our Christmas Day now ruined as too late to book elsewhere. Avoid at all costs Edit: Oh and I have been to your restaurant twice previously actually…maybe reflect on how you deal with customers in future

Booked backed in May 2023 (28th to be precise, got the deposit receipt to prove it) for Christmas day lunch. I was informed at the time of booking that they didn’t know the cost or menu at this point, however we booked regardless stating clearly we would need 3 vegan meals, which I had already been told by email in April that this would not be a problem. They said someone would be in touch Sept time. I’ve not heard anything back from them even after sending a couple of emails. I found the menu on line but obviously wanted to know what the vegan alternative would be as at £95 per head I wanted to make sure it was something we were going to like. So today I called them to enquire, firstly they couldn’t find my booking then when they did they couldn’t answer any questions as to what our alternative would be. I asked to speak to a manager as it wasn’t the poor girl answering the phones fault, this was poor management. The manager was totally hopeless and couldn’t answer any questions but clearly said she could see on the booking we had 3 vegan meals. She said she would call the chef/owner and get him to call me. He called with a very obnoxious attitude, and obviously no intention on trying to assist his customers. His view was he wasn’t told there were vegans…erm it clearly has said it on the booking since MAY. So received no ‘I’m so sorry for the misunderstanding and lack of communication’ his view was, we’ll refund you your deposit. So now on the 3rd Dec, it’s too late to book anywhere else so our Christmas Day ruined. What an absolute joke of a restaurant. This was going to cost us £500 without even considering drinks and that’s his response. Doesn’t even deserve any custom. Horrible man that obviously does not value his customers.

Booked to eat here for a Christmas meal and told them in advance when we booked that there were dietary requirements. They said when we booked in May (7 months in advance) that we would get a call to go through the menu as it hadn’t been made yet. Well those 7 months have passed now and we received no call, we contacted them in the hopes of getting some information about what would be served. Our call was passed on to the chef as front of house didn’t know what was on the menu when we asked. The chef was incredibly rude and obnoxious on the phone, he had no intention of trying to resolve the issue. Appalled by his attitude. Our Christmas Day now ruined!!!

Excellent Sunday Lunch with plenty of veg and tasty meat.

The service is great. Welcoming, friendly, personal. Nothing is too much trouble. The Sunday lunch was faultless. The warm salad and beef were good portions, cooked well, tasty and more than you need. Plenty of vegetables and a good wine list. And incredibly great value when you look at what you get for the same price elsewhere. The chef knows what he’s doing and the training is clearly very good.

Went to a dinner dance and the food was fantastic (everyone commented), all the staff were friendly and polite. I would highly recommend for an event. The drinks were also reasonably priced for this type of venue.

Sunday lunch with the family for our daughters birthday food and service was amazing

We used this for venue for a surprise 70th Birthday celebration (28/01/2023) for 30 people. The whole experience from start to finish was excellent with Chris, Peter and all the staff being tremendously accommodating throughout. Though our numbers were relatively small compared to what they would normally deal with, Chris was happy to personalise our event and enabled us to have a lovely, intimate night. The food was excellent and our guests all commented on how they had enjoyed all their meals. The staff on the night were equally super (helpful, friendly and very professional).

Had our first Sunday dinner at the Park Grill. 👏 The food was excellent and the staff 👏. Looking forward to our next visit.

Once again Chris, Pete and staff provided an excellent Christmas Dinner. Busy but staff worked hard and efficiently to keep things moving.

Where do I start? I organized a Xmas lunch for the NARPO members, with the assistance of the staff and chefs. We formulated a menu from the Xmas menu which I can honestly say was fantastic, from start to finish we were looked after. The choice of soup, pigeon salad, or scallops starter to Sea Bass, Beef, Turkey and veg. Option. To finish with Xmas pudding, cheese and biscuits, lemon tart or fruit. All presented very nice and full of flavour. A fantastic well done to all.

Dont bother booking on line. Advise you an hour before that that your booking is declined and then advise by phone when you call to complain its your fault because you didnt make the booking by phone. Totally unapologetic. Wont try again. Plenty of other places nearby that appreciate your custom.

I haven’t been here for sone years but the food and service used to be fabulous. Sadly no more I should have realised at a practically empty restaurant at peak time last Sunday. The waitress was very young and unprofessional and no where to be seen when we needed to pay the bill even though the restaurant was almost empty. Told us abruptly we had no choice but to have 2 courses! Decor has gone down hill too plastic blinds, scruffy carpets and toilets. As for the food the beef was over cooked cut too thin and chewy , the gravy was like water and vegetables bland. It certainly can’t have been the ex QE2 chef cooking that day. I felt embarrassed I’d recommended and taken my friend there so sad as it used to be so good.

I eat out every Sunday for lunch and this was the first time I had been here. I wish I’d gone years ago. The meal was amazing. All the staff were efficient and very good. I had prawn cocktail, beef and lovely fresh vegetables. I couldn’t resist the chocolate and banana creme’ brûlée. Will definitely be back

Visited yesterday and had a great meal. The surroundings are excellent and the restaurant itself was very impressive. The food was some of the best we have had in this area and the staff were very efficient and attentive. £20.50 for two courses is very good value for money, considering the quality of the food, etc. We will definitely visit again. The only criticism (or comment) is that, for a restaurant of this calibre, we would have expected linen napkins, rather than paper.

When to the park last night where they had a 6 course tasting dinner. I have to say it was magnificent. Excellent food and fantastic service. The meal including wine was £39 . Great value. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely surrounds great staff great food. Best place for Sunday lunch in the area. We have a pate starter and a Yorkshire pudding starter. Both were first class. Then roast beef and roast lamb cooked to perfection excellent quality produce

Had a fantastic meal, first visit for us to enjoy Chris and the teams new menu. Really impressed, covid aware and safe venue with ample parking. Menu was great, simple pricing structure 2 courses £23.50 or 3 for £28.50. Food was delicious, for all our dishes! Home cooked and tip top. See pictures attached of the Barnsley Chop, Mushroom Wellington. Booked again to try more, so nice not to go into a town for a great meal.

Went out Saturday evening a party of 6, three couples to the Park Restaurant at Walton. Nice atmosphere as they were a few other tables dining and there was good social distancing, all the staff wore appropriate PPE in the dining room. Certainly felt a very safe environment. Menu had a good selection in fact I could have eaten any of the starters, smoked mackerel parfait was divine, my wife had black pudding terrine with braised pigs cheek, all the starters the group had were well presented and tasty.Main courses were well balanced and there was a good selection I had a 14 oz Barnsley chop cooked medium rare which was tender and tasty, my wife had sea bass again a good sized portion and cooked to perfection. All the dishes come with a selection of vegetables and you have the option of extra sides but believe me there was plenty of food. All the other people on our table enjoyed theirs and we even had a pudding course in which each couple shared a portion of Eton mess or chocolate Nickerbocker Glory's wow two long spoons dipping into the ice cream, great fun as long as the other half is in your social bubble!To summarize it felt like fine dining at a very inexpensive price as they have a fixed price for 2 or 3 courses. Bill came to £40 per couple with tip and three bottles of wine, even the Italian wines ( that I'm not a big fan of) that we had weren't thin but well bodied.

I have always enjoyed meals here and this hasn't changed. The food was excellent and the choice varied, also good value.There has been a change of owner and the waiting staff have changed, they are all very young and inexperienced and the service was lacking but hopefully this will improve as they grow in confidence. The restaurant was busy which is good in these uncertain times, tables were never crammed in anyway and the spacing between them is comfortable. It has always been a nice, relaxing place to eat and that's still the same.I would highly recommend eating here.

Once again an exceptional meal at the Park Restaurant. On a very busy day our family enjoyed the meals and left many clean plates. Never had anything other than great food and service here and 2020 we may visit even more than 2019.

I have visited this restaurant for many Sunday lunches over the past few years. I cannot fault it on quality and price. Absolutely lovely. That’s all.

Went last Sunday with the family nine of us and the lunch was amazing. The quality is exceptional and the choice of vegetables is amazing. The staff also are fantastic so attentive and polite. This restaurant never fails.

An excellent meal food delicious and very good service today. Really enjoyed it all. Please put a notice by the dish of pebbles on the table by the desk. My husband thought they were chocolates and tried to eat one! A child could choke on one.

Nice greeting, table ready straight away. Drinks brought to the table and great choice of menu. We both had a martini prawn cocktail and roast beef. Excellent choice and nice vegetables. If I had one criticism it would be there was no mash potato. There were roast potatoes though! Nicely set out and we enjoyed the warm bread rolls too very fresh. We had a short walk to Walton hall to view the lovely grounds too.

Although the food was quick to be served, I found it odd that the food had to be ordered from the bar area. The club also tried to overcharge and took several attempts to get the bill correct for our party. Service was ok but not amazing. The food was good for the price ( our party went for mother's Day lunch). Could definitely improve in some areas.

We visited as a group of 10 and were pleased to be seated at a round table, snug but not uncomfortable. All our meals were good and tasty, served in a friendly manner. Dishes of roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and fresh veg were supplied between two which was ample. Portions were generous.Recommended.

Eaten a number of times here for Sunday lunch, odd dinner and a wedding. Food is really amazing, plentiful and excellent value for money. A 2 Course Sunday lunch - only £20, great choice of starter, deep fried brie is huge and divine, great Roast Dinner, delicious Roasties, clearly done in dripping,lovely cauliflower cheese, veg and Yorkshire Pudding, extra gravy provided, can't recommend it highly enough, staff attentive, friendly, nothing too much trouble. Reasonable selection of wine, aprox £15 for nice bottle of Pinot. Only thing that always lets it down is the soft drink prices, 50p for a shot of lime juice, in your £1.60 glass of lemonade, and £3 small bottle of soda water. Their mark up on this extortionate price must be phenomenal. Take this advice folks, its cheaper to drink the alcohol and get a taxi home, honestly!

Can't thank Carol and her wonderful staff enough for making our family Christmas lunch so enjoyable. The table really had the 'wow' factor with the white linen, red napkins and candelabra adorned with crystals and festive red candles. Despite being the very last dinners the food was plentiful and beautifully cooked and the service was excellent. We were given time to enjoy each course and did not feel rushed in any way. Just returned from having a fantastic Sunday lunch at The Park. The food was excellent, every course as good as the last, hot and tasty with generous portions. The chefs are to be complimented. The service was efficient and friendly and the atmosphere was good. Would definitely recommend and will certainly return. Really good value for money.

Excellent food great surroundings.

The meal was excellent. We skipped the first course and went straight to the main course. Out of the eight of us, two ordered the chicken and mushroom pie which was delicious, four of us ordered the traditional roast which was very tasty and two enjoyed the sea food parcel which was delicious also. Half of us ordered the eton mess which we all agreed was the best eton mess we had ever tasted and the rest ordered the sticky toffee pudding which was equally delicious, The service was very good and the atmosphere very relaxing. also it is great value for money. We will definitely go again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend..

Where do I start living very close and yet never been is shameful cos I realise what a gem we have been missing. The staff were friendly and helpful with nothing to much to make your meal a pleasure. We walked in and sat in a lounge while we made our choices, and was brought the canapes, the picture says everything. I ordered the churios and belly pork salad, wife scallops. The main course sea bass and wife 10oz steak. Dessert was cheese board and baked Alaska. Finishing with coffee. I will recommend this place to anyone it was a special evening, with excellent food.

Me and my wife have been here a few times before and have never been disappointed, so the perfect setting for my 70th birthday celebrations with all the family. I cannot praise the staff for their service enough,made the day that little bit more special.

Once again we paid a visit to the Park Grill and Restaurant for our Sunday Lunch,and as expected the Food and service was First Class.From the very minute you arrive you are welcomed into the Lounge Area to take a Drink,where you are also given some menu,s prior to being shown to your Table, which has a varied choice.In addition to the Roast Meats on offer,there is also an option to try the 14 oz Barnsley Chop which has a (£4 supplement) and as I have tried this previously, it is still worth trying.For starters we both went for the Tomato Soup which was very smooth, warming,and with a hint of spiciness to it which gave it a lovely Flavour.For mains I was undecided on whether to have the Lamb or Beef, but chose the latter along with my other half.These came with Yorkshire Pudding,Roast Potato,s and a varied choice of selected Vegetables.As we had enjoyed our meal yet again so much, we both opted for deserts where I decided to have the Apple and Rhubarb Crumble and Custard, while my other half had the Eton Mess.Both were plentiful and and were a perfect end to a Fabulous Meal and all at a Fraction of the Price you would pay elsewhere.This really is a First Class Sunday Lunch with efficient attentive service in a Large well managed Dining Room,with some pleasant external views across the Park and Golf Course area.Oh and the Price of this whole 3 Course experience is less than £20 per person.My Total Bill which included a Pint of Stellar Lager and a Full Bottle of Zinfandel Rose Wine came to £57.You really will not be disappointed giving this place a try,it really is something else.Real Value for money too but remember to make a reservation prior, and do be mindful that serving of Lunch finishes at 4.p.m,otherwise Enjoy.Well Worth a Visit.!!!

It's been a while since our last visit. We booked a Sunday lunch for a family meal to celebrate a 90th birthday, as a more traditional lunch was suitable for the birthday girl.

Para empezar, mi otra mitad decidió la sopa del día, mientras yo opté por el pollo paté de hígado, y ambos eran agradables y suaves, aunque es muy sabrosa. Para nuestros platos principales tanto optamos por la carne asada que venía acompañada con Cena Yorkshire pudding, asado de patatas, s, y una selección variada de verduras. Me pidieron algunos caballos rábano salsa la cual fue debidamente a nuestra mesa junto con un suministro constante de bebidas. El servicio es muy bueno y el personal es muy amable y servicial y donde nada es demasiado problema. Si se consigue encontrar algo de espacio para el postre que tienen una variada selección de platos para elegir y todos son muy refrescantes. Tuvimos nuestra boda en el parque en octubre de 2016 y toda la experiencia fue más que perfecto! El personal es muy simpática y amable y el lugar es precioso. Nada era demasiado problema para Chris y Carol, fueron extremadamente amables con cada petición que teníamos (y no tiene una lista larga! La preparación y comunicación) fue impecable en la conducen hasta el día de la boda, pudimos aportar 80 clientes con una elección de tres entrantes, platos principales y postres, pudimos poner el día antes y dejar decoraciones mesa/fondo starlight, etc, para recoger a la mañana siguiente. . . (Todas las cosas que otros lugares pueden tener restricciones en lo que puede resultar problemático para las novias - El parque no! Estaba impecable) el día de la coordinación de porque Chris y Carol. La comida absolutamente precioso, nuestros clientes estaban llenos de elogios para todos los platos servidos y el buffet de la noche. Nuestro mejor hombre y compañero del día tanto que ya han reservado su boda en el parque! Todo el personal fue excelente, realmente no va más allá. Fantastic Sunday lunch in traditional surroundings. Staff are attentive and professional. The food is outstanding and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed a very relaxed Sunday afternoon here with his parents. Could not fault anything and we will definitely be back.

We attended my nephews wedding breakfast and evening party. It was perfect, the food, drinks décor was brilliant. it was extremely well run, the service by all the staff was second to none. I can't fault it in any way, everyone had a fantastic time, day and evening. We will definitely try the Sunday Lunch.

loved the food, honestly never had such a nice meal. We enjoyed a 'taster' of our wedding meal before the actual day and it was delicious. We had a great time on our wedding day and night here(December 2015), the staff were so friendly and accommodating, especially Chris and Carol! Would highly recommend.Fab prices, just overall excellent.Sorry it's taken so long for me to review :)

Regrettably, opening hours are somewhat restricted to weekends. Sunday lunch is excellent value, good range of choices, well presented and served smilingly.Certainly worth a visit and a far better venue and value than many gastro-pubs trying to be better than average.

A fixed price menu in a pleasant dining room over looking a golf course. The service was very good however the white wine by the glass should have been much cooler.The meal was three courses for £18.95 with a good choice of each course.Roast beef was found to be a little dry and the chicken dish lacked a little flavour but on the whole quite nice. Side dishes of potato and vegetables were also brought to the table.Only wanted a light desert so opted for the ice cream selection which was ok but had formed ice crystals in it.

Had a beautifully cooked seabass fillet with scallops. Absolutely delicious and can't wait to get back over. Don't confuse this place with your regular golf club offerings. This is a top restaurant which deserves a visit.

Want a fab meal beautifully presented tasting great then visit this restaurant.Lovely atmosphere staff so obliging front of house lady just lovely and very accommodating. Surroundings superb. The price I hasten to add so very reasonable that even paying the bill is a pleasure. I am a nuisance with my choice of coffee and they made me the best coffee I have ever had in a restaurant. Thankyou to all for making this a lovely Sunday lunch. We do go quite a lot and will continue to do so.

Went for a wedding. Soup lovely, main course roast potatoes amazing but the mini corn is horrible and should be replace with cauliflower cheese.Warm chocolate brownie would have been better with jugs of double cream to pour over than ice cream. Just my preference.I had to change for the evening in the toilet and there was no long mirror.This is essential especially for weddings. And the tiny tiny mirrors over the wasbasin must have been put in by a 6 foot man. I had to go on tip toe to see myself.I went to the downstairs toilet to see if there was a long mirror there. There wasn't.They are cheap enough to install.

Although a little on the expensive side, this restaurant oozes quality. Quality surroundings, Quality food, quality service. If you are celebrating something special the spoil yourselves/

Me and some friends came here on Saturday night (23/04/16) for a steak night.The place its self is in a lovely scenic setting and is nicely furnished and decorated inside.We paid for a 3 course set meal which was reasonably priced and the starters and the desserts were lovely, but we had a few problems with the steaks. Some were fatty and inedible and we all received the incorrectly cooked steaks, so after cutting into them, the whole table swapped with the other guests for the correct steaks. Once I got the correctly cooked steak, mine was fine, but the lady at the side of me left hers and a couple of the other guests said theirs were fatty too. A bit of background music wouldn’t of gone amiss either.

First time back to this restaurant, which has changed hands a few times over the years, but I will definitely be back. The Fish Night was one of their special promotions and special it was. There was 11 of us in the group and between us we probably had most of the items on the menu, and everyone said it was excellent. Personally I had a starter of Loch Fyne mussels in a chorizo, tomato and garlic broth, served in a large "pan". Suffice to say there was more than sufficient and the broth was so delicious I finished every last drop. My partner had queen scallops with cheddar crumbs and garlic butter, which she said was lovely. I followed my starter with Sea Bass fillet which, I have to say, was one of the best I have tasted, as was the accompanying sweet potato chips. My partner's tomato crusted cod loin with dauphinoise potato was equally delicious. I passed on the dessert but friends who had room for one were equally full of praise. All in all an excellent meal and as Arnie might say "I'll be back"

Took my family for lunch on the14th feb. An amazing lunch. Got to be one of the best venues in yorkshire. Great food, Great value and very good service.

Came here for Sunday lunch a few months ago and enjoyed it so much came back again on Valentines Day. As before attentive staff, nice ambience and table set up lovely with a few hearts & choc thrown in. Understandably the menu changes slightly but personally there wasn't as much to choose from that I like as before which was a shame, however I do adore cauliflower cheese as a side dish. My husband chose the Moroccan Lamb for his main which came with couscous and red peppers, however when he tasted it there was a strong flavour of fish underneath the lamb! I even had the tiniest taste and it was truly awful. We asked the waitress over to ask the chef what it was. She came back and said it was just potato and didn't he like it? He again said it tasted awful and fish & lamb don't exactly go together but was told to just leave it. Bearing in mind he paid an extra £3 supplement we should have complained further, but as it was a special day we didn't like to make a fuss. As before the starter and dessert was lovely but that main left a bad taste in the mouth (literally!) so am sorry to say we wont be returning.

Friendly service, good sized portions of a fairly typical Sunday lunch menu. Both the beef and lamb options were well cooked. Pleasant variety of veg including roast potatoes and Yorkshires.

This restaurant offers what must be the best Sunday lunch in the area in a fantastic location. The staff are very friendly without being over familiar and extremely efficient. This is relaxed informal Sunday dining at its best.

Had a lovely full English Breakfast couldn't eat everything on offer, which is really saying something from me. Smashing young attentive staff

Excellent food, first class service absolute must for Sunday lunch. After lunch take a brisk walk in the park area absolutely stunning.

For my mum and dads 50th birthday party us and around 50 others hired out the restaurant for a lovely meal. The food was gorgeous, couldn't be criticised. The service was good and efficient, the manager was clearly very good and oversaw everything so it ran smoothly. I can't wait to come back for a Sunday dinner sometime.

Been several times to the The Park Restaurant for Sunday lunch the food is very nice the staff are very friendly and helpful... Booked to go again in two weeks :-)
