The Park Inn in Hyndburn

The Park Inn is under new ownership and I wanted to try it. The interior has nhad a face lift and it looks nice. The staff were very welcoming and that was a huge plus. Food preparation took time but I think this was down to it being freshly prepared. This is good. The Mushroom Soup was delicious. I had Hunter's Chicken and it was nice and plentiful. The one negative is that the chicken didn't taste to be of the highest quality and it appeared to have been pumped with water. I will give this place another try before I form a final opinion

I Hate being negative, but it's probably the worst meal I've had ANYWHERE. The people running it seem decent and are just trying to earn a living in these tough times. But my sunday roast consisted of packet mash(smash or similar), one small frozen roast potatoe.small spring of rock hard cauliflower. Some frozen peas and carrots, frozen runner beans, 2 slices of frozen packet beef. Nothing was homecooked. All in frozen packets from aldi or whatever fo±r about £2. And the charge was £9.95!!!!!!

My sons took me here for my birthday what a disappointment it was like a frozen meal from asda it was the smash potatoes meat frozen that u get in packets for a couple of pounds at asda. 1 small frozen potato, 1 small florets of cauliflower that I couldn't even chop with my knife nevermind chew. I'm just hoping other people won't feel the same disappointment we did, we read previous reviews and they were good, so we think someone may have just taken over. They wont last long if this is the fayre that is served up, masquerading as a Sunday roast. I hope the new people take note, as they seem to be decent enough people. But you just cant dish that out and charge £9.95, and expect people to be happy. It has totally ruined my day, it was that bad. Not one bit was HOMECOOKED.

After several recent managers and poor verbal reviews, The Park Inn appears to have finally found it's feet. Visited today for food, the menu, I have to say is very limited and could benefit from further options. My friends and myself all settled to have fish and chips. A popular choice, which is so easy to get wrong! However, The Park Inn absolutely nailed it. At £11.99, it had to be of value to that price and it didn't disappoint. A very good sized fish, in a light, crispy batter, with skin on chunky chips and plenty of them. Served with peas and tartare sauce. It was served exactly how should, with no pretentious baskets for the chips, or unnessesary geometric cuts. Hands down the best fish and chips we'd all had in a very long time. If the rest of the menu is to this quality, quantity and value, I don't see how they can go far wrong. Well done!

I know TripAdvisor really is about the food but this pub is that scruffy/dirty it really does put you off eating! The outside hasn't been painted in 10 years & the inside is worse. You stick to the worn down carpet, its dirty everywhere so its hardly surprising we were constantly fending off flies. My stomach turns thinking about the kitchen being the same ie fly ridden & dirty We started in the beer garden, it was obvious the tables hadn't been cleaned in days (dried bird poo on them) & the weeds literally were 2ft high! The starters were poor (chicken strips sitting in lots of oil) but the mains were actually OK but by this stage we really just wanted to leave, to get away from the flies if nothing else About the only positive thing I can say is that the food is cheap, but again being completely honest, if I was offered a free meal there I wouldn't go back!

Called in and had lunch with my son. Staff friendly and food excellent. I had the Cumberland sausage and my son had lamb chops. No complaints and would definitely . return

Had an ok visit here but staff were rude. Bar and kitchen staff more interested in talking to one another than serving customers and when they did get round to us they just weren’t very pleasant.

Ignored for much of our Sunday lunch. The mains were actually quite good: plate pies, lasagne and steak sizzler. However, once we'd eaten them we were completely ignored for 40 mins with the plates still on the table. The sullen faced waitress walked past us several times glancing at our table but making no attempt to clear it. Eventually she cleared half of it then disappeared again. I had to ask for it to be cleared in the end. We asked for a dessert menu and were directed to a blackboard on a table and told to order at the bar. Desserts were shop bought possibly Aunt Bessie's and cheap custard. As for the coffee, not filter, weak, tasteless and in mugs. Also we were asked how many sugars we wanted, I think they intended to put them in for us before we'd even seen the size of the cups.

Steak cold tough and rubbery peas cold chips really good bombarded with flies. noisy what appeared to be family children. Not the best experience sorry. Managed to eat the steak but unable to enjoy it.

Made to feel very welcome from the minute we walked in. The portion sizes and the food was very good. Will definitely be visiting again.

Booked in for seven thirty, arrived at ten pat seven and wasn’t greeted at the bar,then told to find our own seat which was fine but bar staff wasn’t happy to help, asked at the bar for a menu but was told it was on the table but wasnt, ordered our starter to be told that they had no garlic or mushrooms and tomatoes. Asked why this was and got told our suppliers have not delivered, when then ordered nachos and they was so bland with a coating of cheese with wasnt very appraising. We was then told after ten mins of eating nachos that we needed to hurry up as the chef was cooking our steaks because he wanted to finish early, we had not even had half of our starter at that time! Asked why we was given a table at half seven when the chef wanted to finish early and got told that they had no ideas who took the order! We was not even offered a refund on our starter and to go there one month earlier and be treated to one of the best nights I’ve had to go to this shambles of a excuse of being the same place is appalling. Will not be back

The Park Inn on Manchester Road, Accrington has opened its doors again under new management. My daughter and I called in this afternoon for something to eat and we were not disappointed. My daughter had the steak sizzler and I had the sirloin steak. My plate was filled with delicious steak, mushrooms, tomatoes, salad, chips, and onion rings. The steak sizzler was a large steak on a bed of peppers and onions and separately came the chips and peppercorn sauce as there was no room on the sizzler plate oh and we both had a fried egg as well.

Although the management appeared to be different, the menu was similar to last time we visited in 2019. We were early, but even so there were no other customers. A shame. We were warmly welcomed. The menu had a good variety. My partner had cheese and onion pie and I had lamb chops. I asked for an alternative to chips and was offered mashed potato. The meals were served promptly, the portions were generous and the presentation very good. With drinks, our lunch came to just over £20. Excellent value. We read someone's review who marked the place down for not accepting their dog in the dining area1. Why do people imagine that everyone wants pets in pubs?

Came here recently for a meal with family. The food was absolutely lovely with generous portion sizes and reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit.

Went for a Sunday roast after reading the good reviews. It was awful, instant mash, frozen roast potatoes and the gravy had congealed into a thick sludge on top. The beef was questionable and it smelt awful. Avoid at all costs.

Called in for lunch with my daughters. I had soup and a Croque Monsieur and they had fish and chips. We all enjoyed the lunch which was about £35 with drinks. Good food probably best in Great Harwood/Clayton.

Traditional pub with friendly, helpful staff. Chatty regulars. Food was delicious. They serve a variety of food including ‘traditional ‘ British food but also some spicier modern meals from other national heritages. Beer was gorgeous... tried the John Smiths Smooth. Highly recommend a visit.

Fab meal at this cosy local pub. No gimmicks, just good old fashioned tasty food in a friendly environment. Great service and a lovely meal. I’m very picky about my fish and chips and this was lovely. Lightly battered, crispy, no grease, real mushy peas and seasoned chips. Three generations of family. All equally happy with their meal. Heard and read good things about this little inn and have been meaning to pay a visit for months and today we finally made it. On arrival ordered our drinks from a really nice helpful gentleman behind the bar ( may have been mine host ) then taken to a little dining area up a couple of steps to the left of the bar and handed menu’s. A few mins later he appeared with a specials board that had around 8 extra choices on , all of which I would have been happy to order. Being on a diet I had to look more towards the salad part of what was an excellent choice of menu. I settled for a chicken Caesar salad and my wife chose lamb chops which came with boiled potatoes and 4 different veg and gravy. Mine was as good as I’ve had and my wife throughly enjoyed her choice. Other people in the area where all enjoying there plates of food too. We shall return very soon and very happy to recommend this excellent little hostelry. We had a late lunch so risked not booking in advance but would recommend that you do if giving it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Best food in Accrington. A wide choice on the menu plus a specials board. Good value for money and it's all fresh produce, not frozen or reheated. Friendly and helpful staff. A good range of real ales. This is a traditional and community pub with a warm welcome.

Went to the Park Inn for our evening meal. The food was delicious the ambience was lovely and the staff were nice.The only downside was they dudnt sell Chardonay by the glass so I had to buy a bottle

This was an unplanned visit. Four of us decided to go out for lunch on New Years Eve but couldn't find anywhere open. We noticed a light on in the Park Inn and even though it was 10 mins off opening time and they were fully booked but said we could come in if we ordered right away. That was a nice start. The menue was very comprehensive and contained more than the normal amount of seafood dishes which pleased me. The food arrived promptly and there was plenty of it. I had fish and chips and my wife had the Salmon, the other s both had salt n pepper beef. All was really excellent and very reasonably priced. I will certainly go back.

Recommended by friends, went for lunch on a Friday. Typical old pub decor but the food was very good. Plenty of choice, cooked & presented well - all at a reasonable price. Would visit again.

We had the pleasure of sampling the Park's festive fayre exactly 1 year ago. We enjoyed it so much we decided to book again, and again we were not disappointed. Two roast turkey meals, with all the usual trimmings, all cooked to perfection and served on piping hot plates. We were a little concerned when we realised mine host, Phil (the boss) was having a night off - that can mean there's no one to complain to if anything goes wrong! We needn't have worried - everything was just perfect, we were very well looked after by Laura and Connor - right down to the Irish Coffees to finish off.

Traditional pub that serves food. The meals were very good, traditional home cooked food, good size portions and really good value for money. Most of the mains such as liver and pie were all around £8, my mixed grill was £14 but was huge and had steak, lamb chop, pork chop, gammon, 2 sausages and black pudding as well as egg, chips, mushrooms, tomatoes and salad!!!!

My first time to here, had been told how good it was a few times. If I’m honest I was a bit disappointed. I expected loads of veg and a plate piled high. But it was freshly cooked and very tasty. The chicken I had was a little tough and I found there was way too much gravy, would have been better served in a boat. Would I go again yes

we have visited twice now and both times it has been fabulous,the food is home made and well cooked and served, the beer is first class there is always a warm welcome well worth a try.

Had a tasty Sunday lunch today - my husband had the lamb and all the trimmings and I had the Park special double burger with bacon, cheddar cheese, chips and salad. All tasty and well presented food. Great place and staff.

A group of us went for meals and drinks one Friday night and the food and drinks were spot on. The food is the usual pub fayre but cooked to a good standard and the cask ales are varied and a decent price. The staff were really good but the only fault that we could find was that it took a while for the empty plates to be took away so we ended up piling them on an empty table but that won't stop us going again. A very pleasurable experience.

Visited Monday dinner time with family for a meal and a couple of drinks. Everyone thought the food was 5* and couldn’t be faulted. Portions were plentiful, variety of different dishes and carefully presented. Well recommended for the food and a reasonable selection of drinks.

Can't fault this pub, it has a friendly atmosphere and very good food as well as tasty beer on tap. What the owner has done with this place is a credit and I thoroughly hope it stays for good.

Saturday afternoon. Out for a few drinks and feeling peckish. This place has a largish menu, with a specials board, so there's plenty to choose from. We had scampi (which apparently was more than acceptable) and the home made meat pie. Fab service, great food, lovely people and very reasonably priced. We'd definitely come here to eat again.

Me and my dad visited this pub for a late lunch on my day off. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel very welcome. The menu has a great selection and they brought the specials board to us. We were serviced our meal quickly and it was delicious (fish+chips and lamb suet pudding).

The menu is large, prices are good. Food is average pub grub. Portions large. Not good for people with disabilities due to the different levels in the pub.

Having been by this pub regularly, I actually went in for once. Interesting menu, the food was hot and well cooked, the service was fine. The pub is cash only - no cards.

Having had 'The Park' recommended to me, I can now understand why. 'Old style' rooms, good bar, great menu, helpful staff and wonderful food!

My partner and I eat here regularly either just as a couple or with family. The welcome is always warm, the staff always friendly the landlord in particular, and the service is always good and quick. Never had a bad meal yet, the chips are the best in the North west and the price is good too. My only criticism if any would be that the BLT has been taken of the menu and that was my absolute favourite ☹️.... Bring back the BLT!!!

We all really enjoyed our food. ONLY criticism is that there was far too much of it. It was overfacing and I hurt myself as I didn't want to waste it 😀. I will probably ask for a smaller portion on my next visit.

22 of us had a family meal to celebrate my father in laws 80th birthday. The food, staff and service was amazing.

As relative newcomers to Accrington this pub/restaurant has very quickly become our favourite in this area.

Pleasant staff, varied menu and well presented wholesome food at a reasonable, it is well worth a visit and you should not be dissapointed go on give it a try

A group of us ate here after attending a friends funeral and we all had various meals, the food was excellent as confirmed by all of the group and the service second to none, I had a wonderful Chicken curry with rice and chips it was delicious and my wife had the Battered Haddock and chips the fish was so huge she struggled to finish it and the chips were to die for, all of the group (16 in total ) all said they enjoyed the meal and the staff were brilliant and helped to make a sad day bearable.

Ate here on Sunday, Fathers Day. My wife booked earlier in the week and we got a table for 6:30. We got a drink on arrival and the landlord was so polite. We were shown to our table and the lad that showed us there even gave us a choice of table and refused any help to move mats and cutlery etc. We all got burgers and they were amazing. The chips were great, the onion rings obviously home made. 2 small criticisms about the food and that is a bit of dressing on the salad would be great and the sauces come in sachets. Maybe better if it’s bought in bowls?

In Accrington this is the best pub grub there is. The prices for what you get are incredible. Extensive menu and specials board. I've been here a lot and never had anything but a superb meal. The service is outstanding. Highly recommend.

Went for a meal in a group of seven and we all enjoyed our meals. Its not the largest pub but it friendly and welcoming. The service is great, all the staff are very polite and we all received our meals together. The food was delicious, it was hot and tasty and there wasn't one grumble between us. The only downside is it is difficult to park but that won't put me off going again.

What can I say---------there are not many pubs like this still around.We ate here on a Sunday afternoon-----------greeted by a lovely friendly guy ( genuine and not just after your money!!).The food was outstanding---good home cooked traditional ( as my mum would say--proper food)good size portions--none of this lettuce leaf on a plate and a bit of meat!!!Proper home cooked food!Good price too and good beer.HIGHLY recomended!

Came in for lunch today with my son, we were immediately greeted by the staff, ordered a drink and he took it over to the table for us and was very polite. There was a little wait for the food but I heard a member of staff explaining that there was only one chef and they were doing their best. He seemed sincerely apologetic with this and apologised for our wait for the food, which wasn’t even too long anyway. I had a bacon cheeseburger which was amazing and could tell it was home cooked. Really have to praise the staff as they were so friendly and polite with myself and my son and provided an excellent service. Definitely the best place I’ve been for food locally and will be coming again!

booked a table for three on 14/04/2019 at the park inn accrington and once again ,the three different meals we ordered were excellent.all three were generous portions with four different vegatables.they have a very varied menu with something for everyone,and the staff are very friendly and amenable.the prices are very good value for money and you won;t go home hungry.the inn is a bit dated but the landlord and his staff more than make up for this with their really friendly service.

By far the best public house I have had the pleasure of visiting. The landlord Phil is an absolute pleasure to be around, such a kind caring person, nothing is too much to ask for.

Booked for 17 family members to celebrate a birthday and was not disappointed. Very attentive and friendly staff. Everybody has different main courses - no starters as last experience you would have to have a mega appetite for both. Food excellent with everybody commenting how good it was.

Had a gathering of friends and family for lunch organised so decided on the Park Inn. Easy to get to and from past experience I knew the food was good. No starters straight into the main course salt and pepper chicken wings for some pork chops for others steak sizzler for me liver for 1and scampi for another. They all came within minutes of each other and all I can say is everything looked and tasted fab. They've taken out some of the TVs and it's a vast improvement. Onto the pudding most of us had sticky toffee pudding with ice cream - light and fulfilling BUT I have to say the cheese board was truly the star of the day. Everyone enjoyed what they had and the bill was very reasonable. Looking forward to the next meal here

Good cosy pub with great atmosphere with reasonable prices. On my recent visit had a very tasty salt & pepper chicken from the specials menu. Wasn’t overly impressed with the chips they seem to have changed since my last visit. Nonetheless 5 stars.

A memorable evening here on so many levels. The food could not be faulted and in my opinion this Inn offers the best food in the area. Atmosphere is relaxed and service friendly and attentive. We are both looking forward to our next visit.

Visited here by chance on Saturday, after horrendous weather meant we had to change our plans at last minute. We hadn't booked a table, but they agreed to accommodate us for a table of two. A great selection of meals, and not highly priced. We both went for the Steak Deal, which was a fab price. 2 sirloin steaks with chips,mushrooms, tomatoes, onion rings, peas and salad; we each had peppercorn sauce on the side and a bottle of wine to share came to £30. A really good offer, huge portions, really tasty too and lovely wine with great company. Will definitely be back, and make sure we book next time.

I’ve always loved the park, the food is great, very tasty! Would recommend to all. Does get very busy, I would recommend booking to avoid disappointment. Even on a Monday lunch when I’ve visited it’s been busy!

While on a short visit to good friends in Accrington we called in to The Park Inn for lunch. Wow what a treat, amazing food even for me the vegan! My friends eat here regularly and I can see why. I was offered three options that were not on the menu all sounding so good it was difficult to choose. I went for the jackfruit barbeque which was served with mixed veg rice and seriously the best home made chips I have ever had. Very reasonable prices and very helpful staff. Wish this Inn was in Southampton where I live

Called in for lunch yesterday after reading Trip Advisor. The food was delicious, the portions were generous and it was extremely good value. I know where we'll be eating next time we're in Accrington.

Amazing food, staff are lovely! Popped in on the off chance they would have a table on Valentine’s Day, which they did! Gentleman behind bar was so polite and the lady who served us was lovely! Food was authentic and moreish! Would highly recommend!

Great atmosphere. Nice friendly staff and the specials board is amazing on top of the regular menu which has a wide range of choice. Great value for money.

Whether we go as a couple or with our children, this place is always fantastic. Children’s meals are extremely good value and the portions are generous. Adult meals are always delicious. The staff are very warm, welcoming and friendly!

I haven’t been here for several months however, if anything, it has got even better. The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The menu continues to be very broad and you are spoilt for choice. All items are super fresh and of extremely high quality. You just have to be aware that this is a cash only establishment. Prices are extremely reasonable. The Park Inn is very much a hidden gem establishment and possibly the best eating place in the town.

the landlord Phil is a lovely chap, can't do enough to give you any help you need. The staff are all lovely, The food has never been disappointing, good portions, reasonably priced. The mixed grill? starve yourself first.

We visit the park pub a lot and have never had a bad meal. Staff are lovely and friendly and happy to help with anything. The food is very reasonably priced and hasn’t gone up in all the years we’ve been going.

Been several times for lunch and evening meals, very wide range on the menu and specials board, always enjoyed our meals. The only slight negative is it takes a long time for your meal to arrive after ordering so not ideal if you on a limited time scale and very hungry.

The staff were very welcoming and managed to squeeze us in although they were very busy. The meal was amazing, the service was also quick. I would recommend the Park Inn 100%, looking forward to our next visit.

We arrived but it was mega busy. However we had a drink and were seated soon . The food is excellent . I had a roast meal Beef. It was great I asked for more veg and no potatoes it came as I requested. All the other members of the family had excellent meals too. We will be back, maybe book next time lol

Myself and my partner went here at the weekend. We had a steak meal deal (2 steaks, chips, onion rings, mushrooms, salad, etc. and a bottle of wine). It was absolutely lovely and I cannot recommend it enough. Great atmosphere, lovely staff, and great food/drink, this place has it all.

This recently refurbished pub is a great place to eat with a nice atmosphere. Service is friendly and attentive. The food is good but expensive for what it is. I ordered salt and pepper Chicken but was surprised that it was served in a sweet chilli sauce, if I'd known I wouldn't have ordered. Despite this my partners meal was very good and we look forward to coming back.

Another visit and another excellent lunch . Service was exceptional as was the food . Scampi was packed with fish the chips are the best you’ll get . Very crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside ... so so very good . My friend had the fish and chips and it looked amazing , I’ll try that next time . Yes there will definitely be a next time and every time we come down . You have to try it you’ll never be disappointed.

This place is a great gem in Accrington/on the way to Baxenden. It now offers food all day and the meals are excellent. Proper home cooked pub food at very good prices. Always very busy so would recommend booking. The homemade desserts are fab. Also good ale. Very friendly service and extremely professional and courteous.
