The Orchard Cafe in Worthing

Came here for brunch with my friend and it was lovely. The food was quick and tasted amazing. We both loved the hot chocolates and all the staff were lovely and welcoming. Would definitely recommend coming here with a wide range of options on the menu.

It was our first visit and certainly won't be our last! We were glad we booked. It got very busy but the staff took it in their stride and everyone was happy. The family-run cafe has a modern but homely vibe. Lara and the team made us feel welcome and were super patient while we deliberated on the menu. And we made the right decision - the pancakes and flat whites were absolutely gorgeous. The perfect way to celebrate a long-awaited catch up. We'll definitely be back.

Chose this cafe as they advertise GF. We have a 5 year old who is GF. Most places have only an adult GF menu but there was plenty of choice here. We all went for pancakes, bacon & maple syrup. Absolutely amazing and so inclusive for the little one. We asked them would you want to come back the answer a very loud YES!

What a little gem of a cafe. The breakfasts are phenomenal particularly the pancakes. Big bonus it's dog friendly and the staff are lovely too. I think this is going to to be a regular stop when visiting the town

This was our fourth visit in as many weeks, party of 4, this time 2 of of us went for the American Brekkie which came with the most amazing pancakes drizzled in maple syrup. This has quickly become one of our favourite cafes and will be recommending others to visit this little gem.

Lovely food but very pricey, and they added a service charge for a table of 4 which bumped the price per person from £13 to £18! Total bill for 1 breakfast and 3 pancakes was £74! Literally airport prices!

Well above average breakfast, if not a little expensive. Nearly £32 for 2 x English Breakfasts and two teas. The food was stunning though.

We had lunch here, a hot dog was very tasty and my salad was colourful, varied and original. Loved it!

Haven’t even visited here. Tried to book a table online. Which if your try is impossible as can’t see what your typing. The payment process is difficult - so please review this it makes booking impossible. No telephone number to call. And I saw that for the 2 of us to go it’s £40 reservation charge!! What!! Not recommended

Staff friendly and helpful, food fair to middling. Atmosphere pleasant. Paid parking is in the multistorey across the road. Otherwise, pedestrian access.

I have just had the most upsetting experience experience without even visiting this place for the first time. I booked the cafe on the recommendation of some friends who go regularly. So first of all I cannot comment on the food at all. I will be honest and say that this mistake was mine but the way it has been dealt with is heartbreaking. I booked a table for what I thought was for tomorrow, In error It appeared I had booked it for today. I had a call from a lady (not the warmest person to speak with) saying I was half an hour late. I apologised and said that I was extremely sorry and I had meant to book it for tomorrow. Her response quite bluntly said ‘well im very sorry but we will now have to charge you £40 for a no show’. She said that she had to turn customers away and for that I am very sorry, I wouldn’t have done this intentionally. I did ask if we could still come tomorrow and suggested that £40 came off of our bill. The answer was NO. I believe that if customers were turned away then customers more than likely will have filled our table today as she explained they were extremely busy. I am just in total disbelief that the business wouldn’t try to understand this was an honest mistake and allow us to visit tomorrow, still take the £40 and take this off of our bill. Money is so tight at the moment, I’m visiting the area (my old home town) and I was so looking forward to visiting this cafe with friends. The result of this has left me teary and has completely ruined my day. Gutted by the whole experience and as a result I won’t see foot in the door now which is such a shame. I’m sorry that this is how you chose to treat people (honest people) during such difficult times who wanted to come and spend money at your business.

I always come here if I'm in worthing on my own and need some lunch! Today I had an incredible satay salad bowl, I don't think I've ever had blueberries and raspberries with salad and rice before, it was delicious! Staff are always super friendly and responsive, I never feel weird about being on my own there!

Best vegan pancakes and amazing vegan choices in general!

I came here with my sister recently, I have been before with my children. Service was fantastic 👏 the lady couldn't have been more nicer. I had a chai latte and the spiced biscuit pancakes, I was a little disappointed with my drink as all it tasted like was milk, such a shame as I was really looking forward to it, and to have paid £3 for it also was a little disappointing. The pancakes were absolutely amazing, although I would like to suggest maybe not put the spread inside each pancake, it was very sickly after. But overall I had a lovely morning and would definitely come again. Thank you.

Generous serving of pancakes! But syrup was not enough for 2 big pancakes, so it will be bit dry after. Might be good to have some option for a cream or ice cream to make it bit moist on it if syrup will not be enough. Dunno not a food expert tho, haha We love the milkshakes. We did book in advance to make sure we got a table. They also offer vegan/ vegetarian foods here

What a great place to enjoy Ur bday with a lovely breakfast & popular hot chocolate. A random decision based on Google search. You can walk in or reserve your seats. A beautifully decorated place, very polite and courteous staff, quick service and great food with lovely ambience. Come solo, or with your partner or a colleague and enjoy the food. Great breakfast variety, must go for hot chocolate.

Only popped in for a drink between shops and so glad I did. The hot chocolate was made with real chocolate and the marshmallows were roasted! Amazing! I want to go back to try the food now!

It's slightly more expensive than other cafes, but thought it was good value for the portion sizes & fresh, good quality ingredients. Something to be aware of is that all the chairs & benches are really hard, but thankfully there are a few cushions & so I used one to sit on. I have chronic pain & numerous spinal problems, so unfortunately if they didn't have cushions I wouldn't of been able to stay there, so something for others to be aware of if they wouldn't be comfortable on hard seats too

Honestly smashing. Had some really nice coffee, options of both sugar free and regular syrups and loads of alternative milks. Also had some water brought to us without asking. My partner and I ordered pancakes and a full english and they arrived in good time and STILL got a “sorry for the wait”! Food was gorgeous, and the ingredients obviously had some care when being picked and cooked. Lots of options available too. Payment was easy too and staff were very friendly! Everyone should try here at least once. Definitely a find!

We came for brunch today with my 1 year old son and the service was amazing! The staff were super friendly and even when my son was making a bit of a fuss they came over with a fun toy to distract him! The food was so lovely and great value for money. Would definitely recommend :)

After recently discovering this has now become our favourite treat location to eat. Amazing tasting, and presented food. Went for my usual of spiced biscuits pancakes which as per usual are mind blowing good. My partner had the new breakfast burger which he has now ranked as his favourite burger of all time ! Highly recommended!!

I've been coming here on and off for many a year now visiting for lunch with my elderly mum. My mum complains about everything, all the time, but has never said anything negative about The Orchard Cafe, so that says something in itself. I opted for the Orchard potatoes with added bacon, whilst mum mum went for fresh pancakes. Mum said they were delicious, and enjoyed her Americano. As always, my potatoes were spot on. I had a mocha, and they are slightly on the bitter side, but I like them like that sometimes. Service is always friendly and polite, whilst it is always really clean. Food is always very good with pricing reasonable.

We had a lovely experience on such a hot day. Despite the heat, all the staff were very attentive and we had icy water given to us as soon as we sat down. Really impressed by the service and the food was lovely too.

Good selection of breakfasts at reasonable prices. The food was very tasty, plentiful and we'll presented. Staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient. Although a small cafe, it's always full, with a happy, buzzing atmosphere and welcoming decor. We park in Waitrose car park and walk down as parking is an issue.

I would first like to start out by saying that this is a gorgeous little cafe, with very friendly staff and great options for everyone. I have been eating at The Orchard for a couple of years, and have loved it. I am plant-based, and have always found their vegan options to be brilliant! However, last week I accidentally ate meat for the first time in 6 years due to fault of the chef. Twice in a row, I have visited and ordered a (vegan) seitan Reuben sandwich, and have been served the real-meat version instead, which I believe contains corned beef traditionally. Luckily for me, the first time this happened, the waitress noticed before I could even eat any, and they replaced it quickly. I understand these things do happen, and am a big believer in second chances, so I went back recently. I ordered the same sandwich, and took 3 mouthfuls before realising something tasted unfamiliar, so I checked inside and found real meat. I was devastated when I realised, and so was the waitress and manager. The manager refunded our total bill, and was incredibly apologetic and mortified that it had happened. I know this wasn't any fault of the front-of-house staff - they listened carefully. I feel like I can't go back, unfortunately, as I can't risk eating meat again. And I'm really sad that's the case, because this was one of my favourite spots to eat and I'll miss it so, so much!! I hate to rate a small business poorly, but I really felt I needed to warn any non-meat eaters, as I can only imagine how much more devastating it would be if this happened to someone that gave up meat for religious or allergy-reasons. If you eat meat then there's no need to worry, as this place is fantastic otherwise. If the cafe replaces their chef then I would love to come back one day... :-(

Went twice during a short stay. I normally like to check out different places in a town I don't know, but The Orchard was so good on the first day that we took more people there the day after.

We had a brilliant hangover breakfast here. Our servers were so welcoming and friendly and I had a hard time choosing what to have because there were so many vegan options! In the end I had the vegan fry up style breakfast and my partner had American style pancakes. The food was delicious (I could eat an entire bucket of those mushrooms!) and so was the coffee. It definitely lived up to all the positive reviews and eased our hangovers considerably! Next time we’re in town we’ll definitely pop in again. Keep up the great work!

Amazing, absolutely amazing. The whole experience from walking in the door to leaving was a throughly enjoyable. I ordered the orchard breakfast and my partner had the banana pancake (swapped the banana out for strawberries). The wait time for food was minimal and the quality of food was excellent! The wait staff were unbelievably friendly and explained the menu very well. There was pretty much a replacement option for vegan on almost every meal. Also all the menu options are all available all day. All round a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend the orchard for any time of the day. It can be quite busy so a booking is recommended, we managed to squeeze in without one but we quickly noticed many people had pre-booked.

Mothers day lunch was perfect. Every time I've been to the orchard it's been so lovely, this time was no different. The refit looks lovely and both mum and nan were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and atmosphere! Everything came out quickly, was high quality, hot and delicious. Couldn't fault it. Space for the wheelchair too which wasn't a problem in the slightest.

One of my favourites places for brunch in Worthing. Homemade food plenty of options including veggie and vegan options. My favourite are the pancakes and milkshake. Delicious vegan cakes too. I always recommend it and it has never disappointed.

This is a nice little cafe with friendly staff. The pancakes are nice but it was an expensive treat. £45 for a family of four to have two pancakes each and a couple of hot drinks is an awful lot of money (this includes 10% service that is added to the bill). It is clearly a popular little place, but for me it was just too expensive.

We visited yesterday for lunch. It was complete chance finding this cafe as it was the first good hit after searching “gluten free cafes Worthing”. The food was fantastic and the staff were very tentative. It was clean and a relaxed atmosphere. We were very impressed and will definitely be returning when we next visit Worthing! Go In dressed nicely because if you're wearing tradesman's clothes they will just ignore you. However once we did get served the food was incredible.

Gorgeous breakfast! I chose the french toast topped with strawberries and nutella and it was beautiful- from presentation to taste, couldn't fault it. We also had a vegan breakfast which my friend loved and it was different to any other he has had before. Would love to come again here. The decor is lovely and staff were very friendly

Very friendly and helpful waiting staff, great choice and excellent cooking. Seven of us just had a brilliant lunch/breakfast. Every meal was a winner, and I will now work my way around that menu. My surprise discovery was a banana and peanut butter vegan shake. I'm not even a vegetarian, but this was fabulous. Even a simple pot of tea just tastes way better than tea I've bought elsewhere. Recommended.

We dropped in for the first time on Sunday and had a great vegetarian breakfast and homestyle potatos. Both were delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. Food was fresh and well-prepared witj some nice touches which elecated it. Strongly recommend.

6 of had brunch here last saturday. Everything was excellent from various pancakes, full English and a full veggie English. All cooked perfectly. Coffees and hot chocolates were also top notch. Oh and very friendly, efficient and helpful ladies working there when we went. This family will be back.!
