Booked this hotel last minute and found a gem, situated at the lower end of the high street Checked in was quick and easy the room on the 2nd floor was very quaint and very comfortable, not recommended for people with mobility issues stair are narrow Ideally situated to explore the area car parking is free at a nearby pub no on street parking allowed Breakfast offered a range from full english to smoked haddock which was lovely

We'd always been told how good this restaurant was when ever in Haworth. We were not disappointed. The food is too quality and the service was excellent. Thank you so much. We will definetly be back

We had a really excellent meal tonight. The food was truly delicious. The venue was quite eclectic. The only thing lacking was a sense of atmosphere. The service staff could easily add a bit of oomph!

After reading good reports we decide on our last night to dine at the old registry. So dissapointing . As we were sitting down staff asked what would we like a drink.? (Can I sit down first please) We ordered a bottle of wine brought to the table not poured just left on the table.. Condiments packets and cafe style. Main course very tasty but just warm . Dessert awful processed not fresh (bread and butter pudding). Staff young and inexperienced so dissapointed because it has so much potential but who's in charge ? I would not reccomend this place based on the cost and the most dissapoining meal I’ve had whilst in Howarth . I will be interested in the response to my e-mail

The decor is pleasant but Old if you look closer it starts to look rough on places add to that the creaky floors and it becomes unpleasant.The stairs (No Lift) ,are steep narrow and very dangerous NO GOOD For Disabled or elderly. No hot water for bath after a long day and toilet seat broken I have left many messages as they have never answered or returned my messages.The Food was Superb but to little to late.

Stayed here for two nights. Fantastic hotel and restaurant. Food superb, staff first class. Location couldn't have been better. Could not fault it. We are definitely going back.

On our first visit to Howarth, and based on positive reviews, we booked dinner at The Old Registry Restaurant, and certainly were not disappointed. It lived up to our expectations and more! The food and the service were both excellent and the eclectic furnishings gave the dining room a great atmosphere. We chose the Mediterranean Fish Soup, Seafood Cocktail, Guinea Fowl, and Oven-roasted Cod and all were delicious and well presented. This small restaurant, which was full on the evening we visited, obviously concentrates on doing what it does very well, with a straightforward menu using quality ingredients. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We will definitely return when we are next in the area.

We came for a family birthday and had a great meal. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and the food was lovely. I particularly enjoyed the pork main course and the lovely black Muscat dessert wine. The staff were friendly and efficient. Would definitely visit again!

If you want to generate beyond the burger and chips brigade; to the experience of real restaurant quality food, in the ambiance of attentive restful company, look no further. The menu is simple, quality and full of flavours. Don't worry about the cost. It is not expensive. Sit and enjoy fine food served exactly how you would wished. Well done. X.

We booked the restaurant for my birthday. Staff were friendly and smiling. I loved the quirky decor(see pictures). I had pork 3 ways which was tasty and a very nice chocolate sponge and custard. They accidentally brought the wrong dessert wine but realised their mistake and soon brought the correct one. That was nice of them and can definitely recommend the Elysium Black Muscat. Fantastic dessert wine. Great place.

This was quite simply a superb meal. The best I’ve had in quite some time. Don’t often have three courses these days, but it would have been rude not to given that the food was of such quality. Will definitely be back again. Thank you!

Food at this restaurant was excellent, very tasty, a little different to the norm, obviously home cooked to order and priced well. The service was good and the staff very pleasant and helpful. Unusual surroundings with many ornaments and pictures. Decent selection of wine at reasonable prices. Would recommend to anyone looking for something a little different and well presented.

My wife and I had a fantastic 20th wedding anniversary dinner at The Old Registry. Ambiance: Relaxing with lovely decor. Table: Crisp white linen table cloth. Food: Tasty, well cooked and perfectly presented. Duck breast and lamb shank our main courses, succulent and beautiful. Drink: Beaujolais Villages - excellent. Service: Impeccable. When we told the waitress that it was our anniversary, our desserts arrived with little red hearts - so thoughful of her, and quite romantic. Verdict: This is a 10 out of 10 restaurant for fine dining. Would we go again? Yes, certainly!

Took advantage of the new takeaway service offer and had the tasty Beef bourguignon with creamy mash and roasted veg last night. Portions were generous, especially for the price. Throughly recommend.

We enjoyed a very good meal, where they catered very confidently for a gluten free diet. Covid 19 restrictions were very well organised and the whole restaurant still fe,t relaxed and welcoming.

Booked a table here to eat after reading good reviews & we weren’t disappointed. The food was amazing - well cooked & well presented! There were 4 of us eating, we decided not to have starters & just have mains & a dessert instead. I had the seabass fillets which came with buttered crushed potatoes, spinach & a creamy garlic pesto sauce which was absolutely delicious, my hubby & one of our friends had the slow cooked blade of beef which was very tasty & just fell apart, our other friend had the Parmesan crusted salmon & again very tasty! For pudding 2 had the sticky toffee pudding & I had the affogato dessert all absolutely delicious. We ordered a bottle of the New Zealand Sauvignon which was beautiful.Tables were well spaced out for social distancing due to COVID restrictions & the service was excellent. The added bonus was that the restaurant had extended the eat out to help out so we got £10 per person knocked off the bill. Would highly recommend.

What a place to go after lockdown. It was pleasant, welcoming and most importantly safe. Food was amazing, well served by the staff member wearing a visor. In fact all staff were wearing visors and were very pleasant. Very comfortable and soothing setting. My first visit post lockdown and it was a real treat. It's a small, intimate dining room, but they have done a geat job spacing tables and manging people moning around. The staff are enthusiastic, friendly and knowlegable. I'm not sure I'd be as good working in a visor all night.The food was very good as it has bene every time I visit, with plenty of menu choice, well presnted, well served. Wine list was fine too.

After a day travelling to, and then exploring Howarth, we attended the restaurant in our day attire and felt perfectly comfortable and accepted. The restaurant atmosphere is informal and casual; the interior is rustic and quirky, filled with pictures, art and curiosities and the staff are friendly and polite. The only difficulty we had was what to pick from the menu- there is something for everyone, and all of the dishes were appealing. For starters we had one of the specials, a hot crab pot, and also the mushroom bruschetta, both were delicious. Our main courses were the trio of pork (which we would highly recommend) and the salmon fillet- both were delicious and my description in no way does the flavours justice. The food was well presented and good value for money. We finished off the evening with two lovely Irish coffees (and we’ve had some poor ones in our time) out front of the restaurant. All in all, a very pleasant and satisfying evening, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and left feeling satisfied. Good job to the team, well done!

Dining as part of a large group can always be tricky and doesn't always show a restaurant off to its best. But when you're asked to pre-order your food, you do expect it all to arrive on time and not to have the orders of three members of your group missed off. In addition, the late-arriving starters were not cooked properly.Some of the party found their food overcooked and others thought theirs was more gastro-pub than restaurant. The service style is fairly casual but on occasion was a bit too casual. Not sure that staff gossiping and chatting behind the bar which many of us were sitting in front of was the restaurant experience we were expecting. I think The Old Registry needs to decide what it wants to be and might be striving to please all of the people all of the time. I sincerely hope that this review is taken in the spirit it is meant as I note that there are some rather lengthy responses to some of the less than positive reviews, none of which show the respondents in a positive light.

Though we have lived in the area all our life neither my wife or I have ever given this restaurant a second thought. What have we been missing! Friendly staff, delicious food and attentive service for starters. Add delicious food to the list and you have a venue worth visiting again. If you have never tried this establishment then waste no more time. Well impressed.

The duck and the pork were excellent - particularly because of the interesting sauces. The puds are great and the unique homemade ice cream flavours made ice cream into a real dish instead of an ‘extra’. I really liked their love of different wines. The evening was made complete by the friendly and fun waiting staff who were eager to help including giving the odd ‘taster’ to help decision making! Relaxed atmosphere - excellent thank you

Stayed overnight and were treated to the most delicious cooked breakfast this morning. I’ve never been asked for my preference of smoked or unsmoked bacon. The scrambled eggs were the best I’ve had in a very long time. Highly recommend staying over in such a lovely quirky place.

So my wife treated me for my 50th birthday,it is very quirky a lovely place to stay in a brilliant location. The staff are very nice and the breakfast is outstanding. The only issue we had was the bathroom window was leaking after heavy overnight rain and the wallpaper looked like it was peeling off. Aside from that it didn't spoil our stay.

Booked a table for ten and it’s a while since we last visited. The service was great as was all the food, all ten of us loved the starters, mains and puds all superbly cooked, the duck, game pie, chicken and leak pie were excellent.

This has to have been the perfect end to the year. We came for an over night stay and have to say it will be the first of many. The room was sumptuous and very well put together plus being on the main Street ideal location for pub hopping, leisurely stroll or a bit of hiking. The staff were all lovely and welcoming and the breakfast was first class. Just fabulous.

We visited Haworth for a day out and were slightly apprehensive about eating on the main street, in case there were any instances of tourist-trap type places. We settled on The Old Registry and were extremely glad we did, it was an exceptional experience. We had mains (Game Pie, Sea Bass) and desserts (Gingerbread Cheesecake, Hot Choc Brownie). Nothing "flashy" about the food but there was evident expertise in the cooking, it was presented well, and the taste was absolutely delicious - clearly high quality. The restaurant itself is decorated with all sorts of quirky apparrel and is very characterful snd atmospheric.We won't hesitate to return.

Me and my Mum visited Haworth for Halloween and saw this restaurant was top of foodie places to visit. We booked the night before.

Not impressed with the room. On entering the room, the bed looked sunken. Poor mattress quality. Poor pillows, cheap, no fullness. Thick dust on head board , foot board & mirrors.

We booked a meal for 4 persons.the menu had a very varied choice.the very pleasent staff who looked after us throughout the meal where very polite and we'll trained. The meal was exeptional and very good value for money. The young staff where a credit to the restaurant,well trained and very helpful.we will be going back

We booked this hotel at the last minute as we needed a break away. It was showing one room available on Booking.com to we booked it a day before arriving. We called them to also reserve a table at the restaurant. So glad we did.

Good english traditional dishes, nothing above the average. Still a nice evening for the six of us friends.

Came here after seeing the trip advisor reviews and we weren’t disappointed. We didn’t have a booking but the staff were more than accommodating and really friendly. The place was so cute and quirky and really comfortable and the food was obviously homemade and was delicious. Definitely worth a visit if you’re around Haworth!

I have visited this restaurant a few times as part of a group and with my husband and the food never fails to please, the set menu is very good value for this quality of food and service. The decor is very quirky and the service is very efficient. The staff are all very friendly and the whole experience is a treat. Just be aware that there are steps up to the door and the ladies is downstairs for anyone with mobility issues.

It is nearly a year since our last visit and we were delighted to find the whole experience lived up to expectations yet again. If you only visit one restaurant in Haworth, make it this one - you will not be disappointed.

A lovely greeting by proprietor Leanne, who showed us to our room. Never been anywhere quite like it, everything is old world with a modern twist. Bed was old fashioned looking, but so comfortable. The food was fantastic, so much so, I had the same starter two nights running

The walls are covered in an eclectic collection of 100 year old photos, art, memorabilia and commercial signs. The menu is also varied. I chose the pheasant - it was excellent.

Took a London based ‘foodie’ friend and, understandably, she was very, very impressed. As we locals always are. Excellent food, service, playlist and atmosphere.

The layout and decor of this place really appealed to me and was in keeping with its location. I did find the food not quite as refined as I was expecting, not that it was bad or anything it just seemed, for me, to be a notch lower that I'd expected.

We secured the last table of the evening and were so glad we did. Unfortunately there was an old menu online so the anticipated dish wasn't available but plenty more to choose from on the night. The atmosphere is great, very cosy in the candle and lamp light. Really unusual surroundings and I hate to use the overused word 'quirky' but that exactly sums it up. The service was very good, being attentive without pestering and the young staff members were very pleasant and polite. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for what we had. We are looking to stay again in Haworth and will look to stay here depending on availability at our other choice of hotel.

We booked ahead after reading reviews for this restaurant. It was well worth the visit, food was stunning! We both had the Yorkshire rarebit starter which was delicious, then we had the duck breast cooked perfectly & the game pie which my husband polished off very quickly! We finished sharing a lovely cheeseboard with irish coffees. This is a restaurant to return to whenever we are in the area!

Great little hotel full of character at the bottom of the hill we love Haworth our third visit but would return to this hotel not many rooms just four I think so book early,had a meal at the restaurant which was very nice not somewhere you could just have a drink though to small inside,breakfast was good service very quick and rooms in hotel clean and loads of character four poster beds and large bathrooms great choice for Haworth which we love,cheers guys see you soon.

Loved the quirky interior of The Old Registry and the food was fab. We particularly enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding and the service was great. Really enjoyable evening, highly recommended!

The Old Registry is located at the bottom of the old cobbled lane that is Main Street. Parking is nice and easy as you are given a permit for the pub car park next door. The check in was quick and the staff very friendly. My room was spacious with a comfy 4 poster bed, tv, tea and coffee facilities and a great view over the valley. The bathroom was clean and had everything you need, including complimentary toiletries. Breakfast is served in the dining room and there’s a good menu to choose from. I chose a full English, which was the best breakfast I’d had in a long time. Really delicious. A lovely stay at a quirky hotel. Highly recommendable.

I dined here recently on a visit to Haworth. The food was delicious, three of us had the fish pie, which I would recommend, and two of us had chicken. We were all very happy with our meals. Desserts were delicious too. The only problem I had was, as I am not very mobile, the toilet was down two flights of stairs. The Old Registry Restaurant is well worth a visit though.
