This used to be a lovely garden centre, but now it has developed into a shopping mall, unfortunately the restaurant requires you to queue before you are allocated a seat, (is this a garden centre or a "dining experience"? ) However the food choice is limited and not as good as it used to be, also the food/drink section is not as well stocked as it once was. They won't miss my cust but I'll go elsewhere in future. Disappointed

Having visited here many times and had very nice food I must say I was a little disappointed with todays visit. There were tables available but we still had to queue to be seated and as my Mum is 86 it is not easy for her to stand for a length of time, there were 3 chairs for chairs to sit on whilst you queued but these were at the front of the queue so you had to wait to get to them. We did however wait and eventually we had a table but then there was a 40 minute wait for food, not all the assistants were as friendly as normal which was unusual as normally they are very friendly. The prices of the food have increased considerably which you do expect some increases but I do feel that they were a little excessive. I always really look forward to my lunch here but I think next time I may give it a miss and try a local pub.

Hubby really enjoyed his beef cobbler (stew) and a hot chocolate. I enjoyed my soup of the day, a plentiful helping. We both loved a slice each of a mint aero sponge cake. The choice of cakes is awesome. I had a bottle of Butty Bach, which as usual was chilled not very cold. It was busy as always, with very clean tables, floor and toilets. Staff are great and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. Free mince pie with loyalty card.

called for snack to the smaller coffee shop but unfortunately the tub chairs that were around some of the tables were absolutely disgusting and filthy dirty. there wasn't a lot of room to sit elsewhere so just sat there, making sure we didn't touch them before eating our food and washing hands thoroughly after . for these chairs to be used in an eating establishment I would of thought would and should not been allowed and not seen as favourable by any heath and food inspections. makes me wonder what the cleanliness of the rest of the place is like????

Top marks for the service and quality of food at the food kiosk outside the Old Railway yesterday. The cakes are locally produced and the Sidoli’s ice cream was awesome. Everything was clean, well organised and delicious but the highlight was the standard of service which was professional, courteous and efficient even when it got busy. Well done Old Railway team

Don't usually get excited about garden centres but this one is superb in every way. The cafe is very well organised and has a good system in place. The staff are hard working and efficient. The food is out of this world. Sunday lunch is very, very good. So much to see and a lovely atmosphere. Looking forward to my next visit. Been many times over the years, this time had to wait to be seated in the cafe which is a bad idea as we bypassed the displays of cakes and cold drinks. We only wanted cake and drinks so had to go back to the counter to choose our cakes and grab a cold drink and order and wait for a hot drink. We sat for a while waiting for non existent table service, the waitress showing us to a table didn’t say order at the counter! You assume there is table service if you are shown to a seat and not told to order and pay at the counter first. The salt seller was sticky, though a good job was done cleaning the tables. Laminated menus is a very good idea, maybe with a yellow background for the visually impaired can read better. Butty Bach beer in the cooler was not very cool but drinkable. However cakes were gorgeous my Cappaccino cake had a good strong coffee flavour I loved it. Hubby’s large Mocha was nice and he liked his “very chocolately” chocolate Haystack cake, which was similar to a soft and moist flapjack. Toilets were exceptionally clean as usual and the paintings for sale in the corridor to the toilets were a delight to view. Very nice atmosphere in the cafe but far too cold with the air conditioning on full blast.

Gorgeous place for a lunch! Came here on a Thursday Lunch. We hadn't booked but got there for about 12. It's quiet a maze walk from the car park through the garden centre (takes about 5 minutes) but is worth it with pretend foliage and twinkly lights! We managed to get a table for 8. The menu is extremely extensive for a garden centre! Something for everyone! And the most amazing array of puddings and cakes! Lovely staff who were remaining calm and friendly despite being several team members down. I can highly recommend the loaded fries! They also let us swap out items on the all day breakfast which was great! Highly recommend a trip here, just don't go if you're in a rush!

Love visiting the garden centre here in Three Cocks and regularly collected items over lockdown with the super organised click and collect option - always a friendly person at the end of the phone and a safe collection procedure in place. Visited on Tuesday (second day after reopening from the most recent lockdown) and it was brilliant. Lots of very helpful, calm and knowledgeable staff around to help, a sensible route planned out and lots of space to walk. Also a HUGE range of great products - going to go back again this week with a list. Be prepared for a little wait at the tills as staff are following all the correct guidelines and Covid regulations so it does take more time - but be kind, the staff are doing a great job! Thank you and keep up the good work!

Got there for midday and hit a big queue, we weren’t fussed on having roast (it was Sunday) so staff mentioned there’s a cafe we could also eat at so went to that instead as had 2 kids and didn’t want to queue for ages. Really wish we’d queued! We had the last table which was between the till and the door, can’t be helped, however the member of staff who was doing track and trace at the door with every customer propped open the door every time meaning we were getting a very cold draft each time! My husband wanted a breakfast sandwich but was told they weren’t doing eggs because it was busy?! So he changed his mind and had a baguette, my son had 2 sausage rolls and I had a jacket with chilli & cheese. My chilli was bland, tasteless and was basically mince, beans, a tin of tomatoes and some chilli powder chucked in and had also never been near any seasoning, there was also next to no cheese on it. My husbands baguette was fine but when you pay £8 you’d at least expect a bit of dressing on the salad or a couple of crisps! You could add coleslaw for £1.50 which is just ridiculous! We all had a cake due to still being hungry, I had a millionaires shortbread and it’s the worst one I’ve ever had. The biscuit base was overworked and soggy, the caramel was more of a fudge and the chocolate didn’t taste of anything. No-one table checked us so didn’t want to get in a queue just to complain. Think they need to get rid of the table we sat on to fit with covid rules because many times people were queuing right by us and definitely not 2 metres away. Real shame and really disappointed. Wouldn’t come back on that basis. Also really overpriced!

We then tried the cakes for afters which again were poor and possibly hanging around a few days particularly my wife’s millionaire shortbread. Expected more but very poor. Organisation on entering for Covid-19 was very good , though I / we were puzzled by the request that we must have a basket or trolley! Plenty of plants and bulbs which was reassuring considering the earlier lockdown problems. We joined the queue standing on the socially distance markers, had to leave a name and contact telephone number, then we were escorted to our table. All very well organised. Only one person at the counter to order. Good selection of cakes as usual . Meals came reasonably quickly but unfortunately curry was not hot and the chips were cool, not up to the usual standard as yet and may be due to new staff! BUT IT WAS A NICE VISIT and we enjoyed it very much and the staff must be congratulated on all their hard work. Thank you guys.

A quick review for this venue visited whilst we were on a Valentines weekend away in the Brecon Beacons. We were impressed with the amount and variation of stock held in what was a quite large shopping venue. There was so much stuff: plants, seeds, bulbs, shrubs and trees, pots, garden furniture and decorations, gardening equipment, tools and clothing. Then there was indoor pots, glassware and furnishings for conservatories. Ample selections of gifts, kitchen equipment, fresh food, preserved and frozen foodstuffs. Believe me I am only scratching the surface. There was also a café / restaurant but we had already dined.Staff were most helpful. We bought some bargain-priced aged balsamic vinegar and some seeds. This was a good place for get out of the blustery wet weather, courtesy of Storm Dennis (the Menace).

A friend of mine had an allergy to a certain food group and this was still put on the plate, and when asked to remove it, it was simply scraped off the plate and the food was then given back to us. Also, a tea cake took 20 minutes to arrive at the table, understanding that they like to serve the food together, however the tea cake was cold when we got it. Laziness by the kitchen staff was not greatly received.

I did not eat here, but visited to purchase flowers, and bought some food whilst there. I found the staff to be knowledgeable and very pleasant. Everything is well displayed, price marked and clean. Recommended.

Lovely Garden Centre, with an array of things to see and do. Yes there are plants, shrubs, flowers, etc, but there are also lots of other things to browse over. Expect to find things you wouldnt normally expect to be able to buy in a traditional garden centre. Parking is ample, even though the place is often busy. Oh and there are two places to sit down and eat, including a "Tea Shop" and a fairly large restaurant which is very popular due to the high quality food it serves, including a number of rotating "specials." Very good for the older person. Service is always friendly and polite.

Good all round service very friendly. You can even take your dog . There's so much to see. You can spend a whole day in there . We wish they had a place in Lancs. I got some of my Christmas gifts while we were there. I have sent for some things on line.

A great lunch in the cafe at the Old Railway Line Garden Centre. We chose soups, baguettes and sandwiches and were all very happy with our choices. When you combine this with a wide range of plants and goods available to buy in the garden centre, this makes for a good couple of hours out. Will come back

Always such a lovely place to go. I took my Mum last Saturday. She loves going there but no longer drives. It’s always so impressive when you go there that someone has the drive and the imagination to always be on trend with fashion for the home and unique items for sale with so much to choose from. It’s beautifully decorated for Xmas and the extra little touches around the centre are lovely. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The toilets are nice and clean and decorated tastefully. Had a lovely piece of Victoria sponge in the restaurant and mum really enjoyed her Bara brith.

Booked a table for Xmas day out for myself and wife. We like to go out for the day rather than an evening meal. What a lovely surprise. Fabulous three coarse Xmas dinner, pipping hot. Loads of meat plus veg and roast potatoes, cooked to perfect. Service was brill no waiting, considering the place was full. Plenty of gravy. You only have to ask for more. We couldn't eat the dessert as we were stuffed so they gave us a takeaway cartoon. Brill . Had it when we got home with cup of tea. Pasted this place many a time but never called in. What a big mistake. Great garden centre. I would say the best I have ever been too.Beautifully down up for Xmas. Will definitely return. Also the normal restaurant food looked lovely. Plenty of car parking. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

A lovely place especially this time of year. Lots of beautiful decorations and specialty foods. There were 4 of us and we had lunch, it was very busy and we waited in the queue for nearly an hour because it’s so popular. The food was lovely all freshly made. My only complaint is about the condiments. They use the sachets of sauces, vinegar etc. not only are they impossible to open they are so bad for the environment totally non recyclable. So please please Old Railway Line think about how you can improve your condiments and it will be perfect

Very busy at lunchtime. Ordered at 1.25 and brunch took just over 30 mins to come. It would have been nice if we had been told that there was a wait, as, by the time our food came, our tea was drunk as it would have been cold had we have waited.

lovely garden center with lots of variety of plants and lots of other items to buy, their christmas center was outstanding the food in the restaurant looked appetising except the item i ordered, lasagna it was the worst i have ever lasted, it was stodgy and with no taste or seasoning the filling was horrid not worth the expense, the price of their soft drinks 2,20 for a small bottle

We went on a busy Saturday and were a bit disappointed because there was no Pie of the Day or lasagne left. My third choice was curry of the day which was a rich, tasty chicken balti. I particularly liked the fact that you could help yourself to iced water without having to buy single use plastic bottles of water. There was quite a queue to order and pay but we didn't need to wait long for our food once we'd ordered. Staff worked professionally and were quite patient while I needed to get a menu and make another choice!

Never heard of this garden centre before, simply called in for lunch as we were passing on our journey home. Staff very friendly, food and service were excellent, we can recommend the curries, cakes and coffee. Lots of things to look at in the shop and garden centre. Very impressed overall, easy to see why they have won awards.

We are regulars here and the restaurant is great. Last week we tried the tea-room and had an unhappy experience, I paid in cash then remembered I had not used my loyalty card. I took the card out and asked for the points to be put on. I was told that the points were already added but I explained that this was not possible as I had not been asked my name and had not taken out the card. The waitress insisted I must have used the card. When I looked the number on the receipt was different to mine. Another waitress came and insisted that the points were already on my card. We were made to feel dishonest and it was very embarrassing. The waitress took my card to customer services and when she returned she said "If the points were not on before then they are now". Again implying dishonesty on my part. WE did not enjoy our tea and could not wait to leave. I went to customer services who agreed that the points were not added to my card but somehow were put on another card. She said the waitress should have apologised for the error and not made us even more uncomfortable by implying we were dishonest! She gave me a voucher for 2 hot drinks. We ate our main meal in the restaurant a few hours later, the vegetable crumble was delicious & the service excellent. I would rate the restaurant 5 star and tea shop 2 star. We will not be trying the tea shop again! Customer care training needed.

We came here a year ago and thought the breakfast was excellent. We had two breakfasts there again on a recent trip and have to say they were still spot on. Everything was freshly cooked and despite being very busy we didn't wait that long so still gets full marks for the breakfast from us. We also had a lunch but have to say that wasn't quite so good. I chose the baked potato with cheese and coleslaw. Unfortunately it was a baked potato with coleslaw and more coleslaw. Hardly any cheese and completely covered with the aforementioned coleslaw....Still giving it four as hubby liked his panini. I'd go back for breakfast anytime but probably not for lunch.
